NEWS AND NOTES....

-This is a new feature that I'm going to try and incorporate once or twice a week. In it, I'm going to try and update any celebrity gossip, television news, and basically any other stories I can make fun of. In addition, I'm going to do a weekly email, where any reader can ask me a question (preferably something I haven't already covered), and I'll answer it how I choose to answer. Plus, you'll get a "Reality Steve Fact" about myself that will have no importance whatsoever. I just feel like doing it. So here we go with our first installment...

-The New York Post is leaking some of the names that have been signed on for "Dancing With the Stars 2", which begins in January while "Alias" goes on hiatus for 2 months. The four names that have been leaked so far are former San Franciso 49er receiver Jerry Rice, Nick Lachey's brother Drew, Robert Wagner from "Austin Powers" fame and numerous other shows I'm forgetting, and Harry Hamlin's wife, Lisa Rinna. That's quite a foursome. Kevin Nealon of "Saturday Night Live" is still in negotiations as well. You couldn't imagine my excitement when I read this story. That show needs to start yesterday.

-I finally got around to watching "The Scorned". Holy sh**! That was so bad, it was good. I don't know where to start. I definitely am going to buy the dvd so I can check out the "extra" footage. Like Johnny Fairplay boning Stacie J. Or something like that. If I had to give the award for best acting job, I guess I'd give it to Jenna Lewis. But that's like asking, "What would you rather have? Herpes, Gonorrhea, HIV, Cyphilis, Genital warts, or a Yeast Infection?" They all sucked. But she was the best of the sucks. I guess.

-I've gotten a few emails on the subject, so I figured I'd tell you what I know. The new "Bachelor" begins in January and they're currently shooting in Paris. The bachelor's name hasn't been released, but from what I've gathered, the bachelor is a doctor in his late 20's or early 30's, not a celebrity, and I believe he's either from, or currently resides in Tennessee. That's all I know for now. Of course, any new updates I get I'll be sure to mention. And this season in Paris I'm sure will suck to high heaven.

-I'm sure some of you may have heard of Talan from "Laguna Beach" being involved in that car accident last week with Paris Hilton and Kimberly Stewart. Well, all I'm going to say on that subject is that it's not what it seems. I know. Very vague, but for fear of possibly getting in trouble if it gets back to the wrong people, I can't divulge too much more. But Talan in the backseat with Kimberly Stewart is not exactly what it seems. Kind of a case of perception vs. reality.

-The producers of "Lost" have decided to throw yet another bone at their maniacal fans. Stay with me here. Later this season, they are going to introduce a character on the show named Gary Troup, who was one of the passengers who didn't survive the crash. His storyline is that he wrote a book that he left with his publisher before actually boarding the plane. What ABC is going to do is have an anonymous author actually write that book, and they are going to release it to the public, for real, while they are introducing the storyline on the show. The book is going to be about a "rich heir's search for his devious sibling" and will be filled with clues about the show. Do what you want with that, but considering the show's fan base borders on obsessive compulsive, I'm sure this wets their appetite even more.

-One of my favorite shows, "Smallville", is going to have a spin-off. The WB inked a deal for an "Aquaman"-type series to begin shooting soon. I'm not too thrilled about this. I don't think enough people care about Aquaman to begin with. Everyone is somewhat familiar with the Superman story at least, which is why "Smallville" actually does well for the WB. But Aquaman? Not too sure about that. They had an "Aquaman"-like figure appear on an episode a couple weeks back to kind of get the ball rolling. Funny thing is, the guy who played Aquaman for that one episode once tried out for "American Idol". He was a horrible actor by the way. Horrible. The WB has already said he's not being considered to play the role for the upcoming series. Good.

-Email of the Day: This is where I'm going to re-print any email sent to me with questions, queries, or general statements that you may have. Since it's the first edition and I don't have any, let's just pretend this is the email I got...

Jennifer from the set of CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" sends in:

"Steve...I love your site and have always been a fan of your writing. Will you go out with me?"

Of course I will.

See. That should be a fun segment. So if you have anything you want to ask related to TV, relationships, your a**hole boyfriend or girlfriend, sports, or favorite recipes, submit all questions to: steve@realitysteve.com and maybe your email will get published. I'm here to help.

-Reality Steve "Fact of the Week": The only pet I had growing up was a rabbit named "Friendly". She died when she got lodged between two bars underneath one of our recliners.

I can always count on your site for multiple laughs! And what happened to interviewing "stars". Was Katie from the Real World all you could handle? I guess, after her, there's no where else to go...but down.
