SHE WANTS MORE OF WHAT?
As I'm sure you saw last night, Britney Spears performed her "Gimmie More" single at MTV's Video Music Awards last night. Of course, I'd like to post the video of it, as some sites already had earlier today, but apparently doing that was a "breach of the terms of use", and you're no longer allowed to see that online unless you go directly to MTV's site. I have a few questions regarding that....ummmm...."performance".
-The phrase "Gimmie More" is repeated, I believe, 4,673 times during the duration of the song. What exactly does she want more of? Kids? Cellulite? The never ending buffet? Holy crap. Saying that her performance last night was a train wreck would be doing a disservice to any train wreck thats ever taken place.
-She lip synched (not surprising), she forgot lines to her own song, she carried a nice spare tire around her stomach, and the performance seemed like it was in slow motion. Who choreographed that thing? A 3rd grade dance class teacher? I can't believe she took the stage and did that. What happened to her being hot and skinny and with a python around her neck?
-One rumor making the rounds is that before Britney took the stage last night, she heard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue and making fun of Britney's kids, and that's when Britney lost it and almost refused to take the stage. Eventually she was talked into it, but still being bitter, she half assed her way through the performance. If this is true, it makes her look even worse. Look Britney, you're the biggest disaster currently in pop culture, of course a comedian there to open the show is going to make fun of you. So she called your two kids "mistakes". Big deal. #1 - she's right. And #2 - Sarah Silverman has said things 10 times worse than that on MTV before, and will probably continue to do so in the future. Lighten up. If you didn't want to be made fun of, don't have your life spiral out of control.
-Wasn't there supposed to be some sort of Criss Angel apperance as well? He helped her with that performance? What did he do? Made sure her room was always stocked with the right amount of Twinkies? Gave her enough alcohol leading up to the event so she'd for sure be out of breath by the first chorus? Found a suitable place to insert his penis on a nightly basis?
-Never before did I ever think that Britney performing in a sparkling bra and panties would make me curl up in a ball....until last night. Did you see her once the performance ended? Didn't thank anybody, didn't wave, didn't say onstage to hear any applause (if there was any)...nope. Just walked right offstage as soon as the last note ended. Granted, it would've put MTV in a bind if she cancelled at the last second, but that was probably a better option after seeing what we saw last night. I still can't get over that she went out there and did that. It was laughable, honestly. I said it about a year ago, and I'll say it again. Things are not going to end well for Britney. And I'm not talking about her career.
