OUR NEXT BACHELORETTE
Pretty funny how we find out today who our next "Bachelorette" is going to be, which is going to air this summer, yet they still haven't released who the "Bachelor" is, which is filming now. All I can tell you about the "Bachelor" is that from my sources, its a British guy. I have a name, age, and profession, but I'm not 100% confirmed with it, so I don't want to run with anything. But they are taping right now, and I have it on two sources that he's British. So I'm fairly confident enough to go with that.
Well now, as for our next "Bachelorette", I told you in the last "Reality Roundup" about 4 weeks ago that it was going to be a B-list celebrity. "B-list" celebrity turned into "soap star". Then a week ago, I had heard ABC had narrowed it down to a former contestant and a B-list celebrity. Today they made their decision....and I can't say I'm too surprised. DeAnna Pappas, from this last season of the "Bachelor", will be the next "Bachelorette".
UPDATE: WHILE WATCHING "LOST" TONIGHT, DURING COMMERCIAL, ABC SAID THEY WILL REVEAL WHO OUR "BACHELOR" IS DURING MONDAY'S EPISODE OF "DANCE WARS: BRUNO VS. CARRIE ANN". OH GOODIE. NOW I'LL ACTUALLY GET SOMETHING OUT OF WATCHING THAT "GREASE" RIPOFF. LET'S SEE IF MY INFORMATION WAS CORRECT ON THIS GUY.
I can see why they picked her in that she's still fresh in people's minds and enough people feel sorry for what happened with Brad, but on the flip side, I wish they would've tried something different and gone with the B-list celebrity. I think they're just too scared of putting someone on (at least for the "Bachelorette"), that the audience hasn't ever seen before.
So, I see why they did it, but I'm not necessarily thrilled with the choice.
I will make one prediction though: DeAnna will be at least 15-20 lbs lighter when she appears on the "Bachelorette". Just like Jen was when she was the "Bachelorette". I wonder if DeAnna has any moles that she needs removed as well?
"Reality Roundup" returns next week. I mean, we're in the full swing of things: "Idol" is back, "Celebrity Apprentice" just got renewed for a 2nd season after just 3 episodes, Gauntlet 3 is an out-and-out mess, Scott Baio has a vagina, and my favorite new show, "Celebrity Rehab", should have a whole column dedicated to it.
See you next week....

Great points! Right on as usual!
I am also disappointed. It was too bad she got her heart broken, but she was shown as too much of a bully to the other women, and I haven't forgotten that.
I am also very disappointed. Don't think I will watch. Would have preferred someone else over her. Hopefully this Brit is better than last season's Brad.
Ugh--DeAnna. I'm not sure I can stand that much blinking.
I'm surprised it isn't one of the Baldwin brothers in drag. They seem to be on every other reality show!
I'm actually pretty excited about this! I guess I'm in the minority.
