I was floored that Danny didn’t make it to the finals . . .seriously, how is it that he was never in the bottom 3, EVER, but left last night? I tend to think that the show must be rigged . . .could the judges BE more obvious that they wanted Adam to win? And please, the Katy Perrty act w/ Adam’s name on her cape??? Rude. I do think however, that Danny might just well be better off not being under the AI contract control making Ford commercials . . . . I can’t wait for someone to sign Danny . .and they will. . .I’m first in line for his album. I’ve been a Danny fan since the auditions . .I love how genuine and down to earth he seems to be . . and, of course, I love his vocals. I am curious to know your take on all this, RS. I love reading your column!

This show is not rigged. Good grief. If it was, would Taylor Hicks have won? how bout Reuben Studdard? Simon made it clear from day one that he never liked Taylor Hicks, yet Taylor Hicks won. What a scam that was (Taylor Hicks winning). Although I am an Adam fan, I think he might be better off not winning the title of American Idol. Look at the careers of Daughtry, Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson. Compare that to past “winners”: Fantasia B., Reuben S., Taylor H., Jordin S. Enough said.

Either way, everybody comes out a “winner”, so to speak.

Hi Steve, love your column. I read every week and I don’t mind your timing with the columns, I come in and look and if it’s not up yet, Oh well. I check back later rather than get all IRATE and PSYCHO! lol Anyway, my sis has been for Gokey since day one and she too said it was ALL PAULA’s FAULT. lol I just never liked him sorry. He’s good of course. He should make a gospel pop-ish sort of album and he’ll sell millions world-wide. I was shocked as well thought that he got eliminated, I too thought it would be a Danny/Adam final. Much as I love Adam he screamed just waay to much this week and I challenge him to do at least ONE song next week with no signature-adam-scream. Even die-hard adam-fans prob want to see that! I just cannot get over that Kris made it, crazy! He reminds me sooo much of a Fraggle. Particularly Gobo Fraggle b/c if you have ever seen the fraggles he plays guitar and sings. Does anyone else see this or am I alone? lol

jljohnson, you’re not alone. I personally think the judges have a favorite almost every year that’s really obvious, and there’s always been rumors that it’s actually rigged to who the producers WANT to win. I was reading another site yesterday (sorry Steve), and that’s all the comments were about ~ people chiming in on how they think the judges are being totally unfair and partial and trying to sway the vote. I’m sure it goes both ways though, if you like the person they’re supporting it probably would be as annoying. So to answer your question ~ yes, a lot of people have that same opinion.

Has anyone else noticed how much Idol seems to be pushing for Adam to win? I guess maybe it’s more Simon because he’s been saying Adam will be in the finale and then on Tuesday he told everyone to make sure to vote for him…just kind of interesting. Sometimes I just wonder if any of this stuff is set up…? I have never watched Idol until this season so I have no idea what the other seasons have been like but I just wonder how much of it isn’t staged to make things more interesting. Danny seems like the ideal person to win AI…he has an amazing story and a beautiful voice and he’s very likeable. I know Adam has always been a favorite but I would consider him more of a wildcard than Danny…the black nail polish, the Axl Rose scream, the fact that he’s gay…and then for me personally, I never expected Kris to get this far. I mean, consider the fact that they let Paula choose Danny’s song and Simon got to choose Adam’s. I mean, really, who has the advantage there???

Anyway, just something interesting I thought of!

Cagey, I have had some troubles too, so you aren’t losing your mind.

I don’t think Paula’s song choice was as bad as everyone is saying. That song was very similar to many of the songs Danny has picked throughout the competition. That is the reason I never really cared for him, because HE chose songs just like the one Paula chose….just not my kind of music.

That being said. I love Adam, but I am starting to think Kris has a shot. I would bet that many “Hokey” fans will vote Kris before they vote Adam. Plus Adam peaked early and Kris gained momentum later in the competition, so I guess we will find out next week!

That’s what I love about AI ~ there is always someone for everyone. The final three guys are all talented in their own way and hopefully will all have successful careers in music ~ I just love the way people either LOVE someone or HATE them! I’m still a Kris fan all the way, but I appreciate Adam’s talent . . . it’s just not my favorite. I think Adam’s had WAY better weeks than this week ~ he didn’t shine as much as he usually does.

Off topic ~ has anyone else had a hard time getting this site to come up? And to pull up the comments section takes forever ( i feel like i have dial up). Is it just my computer, maybe?? Or maybe the work that Steve says they’re doing on the site?? Or am i just losing my mind?

I was so sad to see Danny go but I had a feeling it was going to happen. He will have a great career no matter what because he is a very talented guy. I wish Kris and Adam the best of luck next week. I hope Kris can pull it off next week and cause an upset and win. All season long everyone has been saying Adam has it in the bag he is going to win. I hope Kris can prove everyone wrong and win this season. He has been the underdog all season and I think that would be a great surprise.
Kris, Danny and Adam will all have careers so at this point it doesn’t matter who wins the show.

Thanks Paula, you just cost Danny his shot at the AI title with your lousy song choice!

With that being said, my vote is for Kris. To me, he has at least shown some versatility and relevance. Adam does the same thing EVERY week – SCREAM – Yuck!
