“Men Tell All” Recap – 7/20/09

-Lets immediately get started. A lot to get to. For those that follow me on Twitter or are a Facebook friend (if you haven’t joined either, just scroll down the right hand column and under “My Stuff”, just click away), you were aware that I attended Wes’ concert this past Saturday night in Ft Worth. Am I a country music fan? Not really. I didn’t grow up around it so I can’t say that I’m a fan, but it doesn’t make my ears bleed to listen to. Do I have a few country songs downloaded to my ipod? Sure. Are there Garth Brooks posters on my wall? No. Carrie Underwood? Hmmmm, now that’s a different story. Anyway, what I’m getting at is I wasn’t necessarily a country music fan before I went, and it’s not like I’m a converted one now after I attended the show. Just thought it would be a good opportunity to get out, see Wes’ play, meet the guy in person, and have a good time on Saturday night. And that we did.

-Lets put one rumor to rest since I got a couple emails on this: No, I did not do any pole dancing. Hell, I would admit that if I did. Yes, there was a pole off to the side of the stage that I remember some guy using as her personal phallic symbol, but no, that wasn’t me. I was too busy downing shots of Jack that Wes forced me to drink. The night started getting a little hazy after about 1 or 2 o’clock. It was really a good time all around. The crowd was really into it, Wes did his thing, and even gave Reality Steve a shout out before one of his songs. Very appreciative of that. And those that were in attendance got an idea of how Wes’ feels about ABC and what the show did to him. He let them know on more than one occasion. I got to really spend some quality time with the guy Sat. night and into Sunday afternoon since, well, someone wasn’t in any position to drive back to Dallas, so I ended up crashing at the hotel where they were staying. It’s been a while since I had one of those nights, but nonetheless, it was fun. And just think, we’ll be back at it again on July 30th at the Glass Cactus in Grapevine when he’s in town performing with Joe Nichols. Good thing that place is only 20 minutes from me. I might actually be able to drive home after the show. Or not. Maybe I’ll just chill at the Gaylord hotel.

-As for what was said, Wes couldn’t have re-iterated enough that he didn’t have a girlfriend on the show, didn’t have one before he went on, and didn’t have one after. There were also band members, a manager, close friends, and a sister who backed him up on all of this. If people want to continue to think he did, I don’t know what to say. As for the “Men Tell All” no show last night, yes, Wes initially said he didn’t want to do it. Then a day before filming, he did say he wanted to defend himself and ABC basically said, “Stay home. We don’t think it’s a good idea.” But if you listen to Chris Harrison’s explanation in his blog today as to why Wes changed his mind, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Ridiculous claim that Chris makes, really. “In the end, he didn’t amount to much on this show”. What? Chris, he’s been the talk of the season, he made the final four, and you basically dedicated the last half hour of the show to busting his balls by calling him out and making a video tribute to him. But he didn’t amount to much on the show? Oh, ok. That is such a ridiculous statement and contradicts everything this show has presented Wes as. Chris is a company man and he’s doing what he’s told, however, to not have Wes on to defend himself doesn’t do anything but lend credibility to what he’s been saying in the interview with me and what he’s said in other interviews. A very good piece written by Andy Dehnart over at that I couldn’t agree with more. To read the whole column, click here. Here’s an excerpt:

“Either way, ABC should have bent over backwards to let him show up and say his piece. If he declined the invitation, show proof, because otherwise any discussion of him seems like they’re beating up on someone who can’t defend himself.

If he was allowed to attend and repeated his accusations, let the other men, or Chris Harrison, challenge him and say he’s full of shit. Better, show the full, unedited video of his limo exit interview to prove that it wasn’t edited out of context. But keeping him away just makes him seem like the producers and network have something to hide.”

I’d say that’s pretty self-explanatory. ABC comes off looking much worse by not having Wes appear on the show. Period. And the only reason given by Chris Harrison last night was, “Wes is obviously more concerned about his career than finding love”. Puke. How about giving the real reason he wasn’t there which was ABC was scared sh**less of him reaching out to just more than my audience and a few radio station audiences telling what really happened. If they had nothing to hide, and they felt that all this stuff Wes was saying is BS, then put him on the firing line and call him out on it. Of course, they couldn’t do that because it would’ve gone against the whole character they created of him for eight episodes. Embarrassing, really. There is more to this story about what really went on in regards to the “MTA” taping, and I think we’re gonna get Wes on again this week to defend himself since he wasn’t allowed to at the taping after being told to stay home. No, it will not be another hour and a half conversation, but I do think its important people hear what was said. I’ll try and keep it to 20-30 minutes tops, so stay tuned for that. Now, on to last night.

-One contention a lot of you seem to be making in regards to Wes and the “They say love, it don’t come eeeeeeasssy” song (which is a catchy ass song that’s been stuck in my head since Saturday), is that you seem to be under the impression that, “Well, if he wrote the song just for Jillian when he was on the show, how did his band know how to play it at the hometown date.” In case you forgot, and they showed it again last night, when Wes played that song (titled “It Don’t Take That Long”) in the hometown date, it was just him up on stage with his guitar. The band didn’t play along with him. The band was there for a completely different song. So just wanted to point that out since a lot of you are using that as some sort of basis as to why you think he didn’t write the song on the show. He did. We will address this in the interview.

-I will try to just cover everything else from the show as opposed to the Wes stuff since I think he’ll do a good job of covering that himself. The plan is to have the interview up on Thursday. One thing to note about the show was that in the previews last week, they teased that we were going to see clips from the “Bachelor/ette” reunion in Vegas from a couple months ago. Well, I guess over the course of a week they decided they had SOOOO much good material from the guys, that they decided to cut that stuff out, along with a piece that DeAnna filmed, and one that Graham filmed promoting his charity, 46NYC. If you’re interested, check it out at It’s for a good cause. I didn’t think that the guys bitching back and forth at each other last night was all that entertaining, but hey, not my call. I most certainly would’ve cut that part of it to show the Vegas reunion stuff. And really, Reid couldn’t be there due to a “prior engagement”? They really expected people to believe that? For Christ sakes, he’s the 3rd place finisher in one of the more emotional send offs they’ve had and we’re supposed to believe that he’s calling the shots on his schedule and where he can be? Please. And of course, once the final clip aired of next weeks finale and we see a shot of Reid standing looking out a window with a ring in his hand, it was all pretty obvious why he wasn’t there. Told you last week he played a major role in the finale which is the reason he wouldn’t be at the “MTA” taping and it was proven right. Then again, that wasn’t that big of a secret.

-How horrible was the crowd last night? Could they have packed the place with any more Wes haters if they tried? Geesh. Don’t make it obvious or anything. Or they were just being told to boo and hiss every time his name was brought up. Not to mention the absolute shill job being done by Chris Harrison all night. I don’t know what’s worse, him actually calling out a guy who’s not there to defend himself, or actually believing all the editing about him was true. Usually Chris is Casper Milktoast when it comes to the “MTA” shows, but last night, someone lit a fire under his ass and told him to grow a set. Safe to say that he was a flat out prick last night. Very ornery and very condescending. “Well as for Wes, we can probably figure out why he wasn’t here.” We can? Please enlighten us Chris because you’ve given no explanation whatsoever. Actually save your breath since any explanation you gave wouldn’t have been the real one anyway. Were your jeans on too tight? Someone piss in your Corn Flakes that morning? My God, quit cursing like a sailor. It was like you were ready to fight someone last night. I was worried for little Chrissie last night. It was like someone took his wittle wed wagon and broke it into pieces. Not a very happy camper last night.

-I think I’ve had enough “Man Code” talk to last me a lifetime? Did we really need a half hour on that stuff? We get it. You guys don’t like Juan because he doesn’t drink like he’s heading into rehab and fart like it’s a frat house, or curse like he’s shooting a porn. What was with all the cursing and farting jokes last night? My God, have they ever done this before? Who cast all these hooligans up on stage? I was beginning to think the 13 men on stage combined IQ didn’t reach triple digits. I honestly thought that Dave, Tanner, and Jake made themselves look worse last night than they did on the show. Dave just doesn’t get it. Plain and simple. Every time he questioned his behavior or thought maybe he did something wrong, he followed it up with a “But…” So that right there pretty much showed his insincerity. He might’ve apologized to Jillian, but I will agree with Chris on this one, you know deep down he doesn’t feel the things he said and the way he acted was wrong. Down another scotch, buddy. And if you saw this interview online with him yesterday, he said that last seasons “Bachelor” came down to him and Jason Mesnick and they chose Jason. Huh? That’s news to everyone except Dave apparently. If he’s delusional enough to think that then so be it. Not a chance in the world he was a final two choice to be the “Bachelor”. No f-in way.

-As for Jake, anyone who honestly thinks that guy could carry a “Bachelor” show for two months is kidding themselves. Really? You’d want to watch THAT guy for eight straight weeks on your television? Blech. I find nothing about that guy remotely interesting. Hey, for selfish purposes and comedic value, I’d have a field day with him if he were the “Bachelor”, but even I’m rooting against it. I have a feeling I’d make the guy cry on a weekly basis if he read the stuff that I would write about him. I just think the “holier-than-thou” approach last night was ridiculous. And him telling whoever to “f-off” seemed so staged and so forced it didn’t even fit in. The guy doesn’t even know how to get mad correctly. That f-bomb lacked any sincerity whatsoever which made it seem so rehearsed like before the show they all gathered around and said, “Ok, you get real mad at me and bring me to my boiling point. Once you do, I’ll drop an f-bomb and it’ll shock everybody.” Please. Had the opposite effect on me. Thought it was lame and forced. Lets not forget that Jake used to be an actor back in the day, so to sit here and say he’s got nothing but good intentions and didn’t use this show to further his career, especially after what Wes told us in the interview, would just be ignorant. Not saying he did, but to immediately dismiss it? I wouldn’t. And I’ll leave what I want to say about Tanner to Wes. Lets just leave it at that.

-The Jason and Molly segment was predictable. “If we can weather this storm, we can make it through anything. It’s been tough on us. People have take their shots, but we’re better for it in the end.” Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you. I just wish you two lovebirds could’ve given me a shout out by name since, well, it’s obvious you were referring to me. I’m like the guy that gets Jason all hot under the collar don’t you remember? That’s the least you could’ve done after all I’ve done for you. As for them getting married? I say it every time a couple comes out of this show, and I’ll say it again: I’ll believe it when I see it. Talk all you want about your happiness, talk about Molly moving to Seattle, talk about how in love you guys are right on cue into the camera, blah blah blah. When you finally walk down the aisle and get married, then you may turn around at the altar and give Reality Steve a big “F You”. I won’t hold my breath though. I like the 1-for-17 (about to be 1-for-18 because, lets face it, Jillian isn’t marrying any of these guys) odds I have working in my favor. Who wouldn’t?

-As for the final thoughts on next weeks finale, I still stand by what I said last week. I think Jillian is either with Ed or with no one. We know now officially that Reid comes back, and considering he’s holding a ring, I’m guessing he proposes. I just don’t think she ends up with. In fact, I’m pretty sure of it. Same with Kiptyn. I don’t know what’s happening with Ed. And after reading her blog on today she’s either a good bluffer and throwing everyone off, or she’s not with anybody. Once again, she still never says she’s in love, nor does she allude to the fact there is even a man in her life. Everything is about “her decision.” Oh, and I appreciate the back handed reference to me and her “engagement standards”. You’re welcome, Jillian. That’s what I’m here for. To criticize. I guess we’ll find out next week. Regardless, she’s not marrying any of these guys anyway, so does it all really matter? Didn’t think so.

-Pretty much the rest of the show was all the guys having fun at Wes’ expense, which is what I predicted would happen last week. No surprise there. Since Wes was not allowed to defend himself, I figured that he do it right here on And in fact, I’ll open it up to questions from you as well. We’ll let him explain side of things in regards to the “Men Tell All” but if there’s anything I forgot in the first interview that you want asked, send me an email at, and if I’m able to ask it, I will. Obviously, there are certain things that cannot be discussed due to contracts, but I think Wes has been pretty open at this point and he will do his best. So please send all your questions and comments to my email address, and I will see how many of your questions we can get in. Wes has been nothing but stand up with me regarding the whole situation, and I fully expect him to continue with it. All questions, comments, emails, praises, criticisms, all go to that address as well. And finally, we are almost sold out of merchandise gear, so get it while you can. I think we might have about a week left of stuff to give out, depending on the size ordered. Stay tuned this week for more from Wes.

agree Steve, I don’t think she ends up with any of them in the end. If she does pick one at the end of the FRC, I am sure it doesn’t last by the time the ATFR is taped, if it wasn’t done already. Especially since like you said, she’s never said she’s in love. And that whole set up with Jake. Please. I know they say he was previously an actor, but I don’t see it. I don’t think he’s good at all. That fake surprise he did when that woman asked him if he was asked to be the next Bachelor if he would do it…(Fake surprise look on his face) “Oh me?…oh, well, (fake laugh) thats very flattering, but oh gee…uh..I don’t know, I am not sure I’m ready, I’m still trying to get my feet off/on the ground…(fake laugh).”. I can’t imagine anyone who bought that. And if he actually would be the next one, good lord, if you think Mesnick was a crier, I think he would put him to shame! He would cry his eyes out every episode and probably would fall in love and want to marry all 25 women by the end of the first night! Although I guess it would make for good recaps! I don’t think Kiptyn would be a good one either. Lets get some fresh meat on this show!

This is getting ridicules. It’s like high school all over again. While the cameras are on, these guys bash each other like there is no tomorrow yet they hangout outside of the show. Examples are Wes and Tanner. The entire show Tanner was against Wes including on the Men Tell All episode and Wes will bash Tanner in his new interview with Steve, but they hang out in Texas on the weekends. This whole show is a joke and everything is done for the ratings. EVERYTHING. That’s why I’m led to believe that Steve works for ABC. Think about it people. When everything happened with Jason last season ABC knew that they would not get 18 million people to watch unless there was a spoiler to draw people in. Who better to spoil their ending and bring viewers than Reality Steve who has been blogging about their show since the beginning. Also, seeing the contract these people sign (go to to see this contract) you expect me to believe that ABC is not on Wes’ ass for talking to Reality Steve and not showing up to the Men Tell All taping. Come on. All this drama between Steve and ABC is for ratings. The more Steve bashes them and spoils their show the more viewers they get. I might be an Investigator but it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure this out.

P.S. check out people magazine, Jake admitted to being an actor and playing a young Chuck Norris just like I told you guys before.

I just wanted to say that I finally know who Jake reminds me of…Tom Cruise!!! His facial expressions, the way he smiles, the way he talks all remind me of Crazy Cruise. Now, I understand why Jake always rubbed me the wrong way. I sure hope he isn’t picked to be the next Bachelor.

So in conclusion, I wanted to say that this is only a TV show people. Those of you who hate Wes or anyone else because of what you saw on this show need to get a life. Even if Wes is a jerk in real life or not who are you to judge?! No one deserves to go through what Wes is going through just because he signed up for a TV show. Can’t you see it’s all fake and all these guys are friends when the cameras are off?!!

what is this, the all-wes-all-the-time blog? just as i thought and anticipated…you’re just trying to buddy up and be BFF with wes and anyone else who’s on the show. btw, thanks for plugging his next gig.

could today’s blog be any more boring?

i’m another long time reader who has finally had my fill of the “new” steve. i’m gone.

josi – i’ve been having similar thoughts. something has definitely changed with steve’s blog. it used to be as though he was “one of us.” now the lines seem blurred. it’s way different than it used to be – not better or worse, just different. at the very least, these interviews and friendships he’s building with former “contestants/actors” are influencing his writing greatly. 🙁

u please talk for urself. I found everything about Jake interesting and I will watch the show if he is the bachelor.

Do you think all those women in the audience really feel that sorry for Jake, like after his “I will always have feelings for her…” aww…puke! I really hope he’s not the next bachelor. And his totally forced “F*!% you!” comment, you could tell he was so nervous and wanted to immediately pray for forgiveness.

As for questions for Wes. I would like to know if he’s had any contact with Jillian since the show aired, or if she knows what a bad edit job he got. I hope she knows that he never really said any of the things they made it sound like he said, and that he really never had a girlfriend at any point before, during, or after the show. Where did Jake get the name name of his ex anyway? And why many of the guys called Wes out and said they were sure he had a girlfriend and that he was there for the wrong reasons.

Did anyone else catch it when the guys accused Jake of pulling a ‘mesnick’ when he did his crying at the railing? I thought that was the highlight of the show. The Molly/Jason part made me want to rid myself of my dinner, how sappy! It was really a trainwreck of a show and I am sooo glad my Rangers were playing so there was something actually worth watching!

I am so over this season!

I am fed up with Steve and his man-crush on Wes. I was so looking forward to this week’s blog, but he spent more time writing about Wes, someone that is already out of the show, than on the actual recap of last night’s episode. Its getting really old! We already know he got a bad edit. Anybody whose parents are not related could see through that!

I can’t wait for a new season and a fresh start. I have had it with the drama, the man code, the editing, Wes, Jake, Dave and all those losers. I sincerely hope none of these guys are the new bachelor. It would be really boring and wouldn’t watch it.

As far a the ending, I dont even care anymore. I think Jillian is doing this for the experience, for the trips and being on TV. And if she ends up with someone along the way, then better yet. So I wouldnt feel bad if she ends up picking nobody. Although I am sure ABC has covered all they bases since the Brad fiasco, and will never let that happen.

I have to agree with the other posters .. there has been a shift in the mood of which this blog is written. RS is entitled to his opinion – it’s his blog .. but still, the reason most of us came here was for the hilarity of RS’s witty insight into the players of the show. Bring that back! I remember earlier blogs where I was crying because I was laughing so hard.

It was a ‘man-code’ fest on last night’s MTA no thanks to Dave .. he is the one that gets to me the most. It’s almost like he will attack you if you don’t agree with him. His arrogance with the smug look on his face makes me wanna beat the @@@@ out of him (aha .. just playing on his ‘threats’ against Juan).

I could go on but I won’t .. most of you have already voiced your opinions about others that I totally agree with.

stephlk74b / sally885 .. enjoyed your insights over the course of this season .. thanks

I agree with josi and eloquentblu. Reality Steve’s 7/20 blog changed its tone and focus. It was more fun to read his earlier recaps. Let’s hope Reality Steve isn’t a plant by ABC and that part of Wes’ deal was that he’d be the show’s bad guy in return for all kinds of free concert publicity, like in the last blog by RS, which seemed like it was promoting Wes’ music.

One thing I’d like to know — what’s stopping Jillian from saying no to all three guys (if they ask) but dating a couple of them after the show ends? Is there a contractual reason why she couldn’t do that? It would buy her time but loyal viewers would probably be upset if they were left hanging at season’s end.

I have to agree as well with some of the other posters about your blog. You defintely have a right to your opinion and post whatever you want to say but we miss how you use to do things. It seems like after Jasons season everything changed and now you are so determined to take this show down and destroy it.
Enough about that, I will be back next week to see what you have to say about the finale.
Steve we all like you or we wouldn’t be here every week reading your blog we are all just giving our opinions.

I am officially as sick of hearing about Wes than I am about Jason. I cannot wait until I can read an RS blog and not see either of their names in it.

I’ve only been reading the blog since early January, but have gone back and read previous seasons for fun and I agree with the other posters that something has changed. Steve, it’s your blog and you’re free to do what you want with it. As readers we have the choice to read or not to read. But if I’m being honest, I feel that between reading your blog and the CH & JH blogs, there is not much difference between them. You all have agendas and are so focused on completing those agendas that the entertainment and brilliant recaps that once dominated your writings is now almost non-existent. I hope that once this season ends you’ll go back to your old style, though I’m doubtful it will happen. I think you know too much about the inside workings of the show, and now that you’ve made friends with several of the guys/girls from the show I’m afraid that you’ll never be able to go back to writing in the same style you did before. Instead of writing as an observer, you’re now writing as someone in the Bachelor/Bachelorette inner circle.

I don’t mean any malice here, Steve. Your site was something I looked forward to reading every week. While I’m a 60+ hour a week worker, I’m also dealing with health/pain issues and your blog is one of the few out there that was fun to read and get my mind of things…and just laugh and enjoy. I even got my husband into the site. I guess I’m just a bit sad to see one of my guilty pleasures drift away.

Great blog, as usual. When Jason was sitting there with his arm around Molly as Chris mentioned the rough time they have been going through; Jason was flaring his nostrils, and I just imagined he was thinking, that reality steve has been a thorn in my freakin side. lol

Anyone else notice how Dave and Sasha came to Wes’ defense over the whole girlfriend issue? They weren’t allowed to say a whole lot but Sasha at one point get’s on Tanner 2 for saying things about Wes when he didn’t even know him. Seemed as though Dave and Sasha weren’t buying the Wes hate.

I still haven’t heard one thing in any Wes interview or anywhere else indicating he was on the show for any reason other than promoting his music. In the edit last night he said his manager told him he needed to stay on the show for at least 3 roses. And several of the bachelors said he had said he had a girl in Texas. And one of them said that he was told by Wes that Wes wrote all those songs on his CD (including the Jillian one) for his girl in Texas. Which means it was all written before he went on the show and he used the show to promote the song and his CD. At this point I couldn’t care less who Jillian picks and I bet she doesn’t either.

I wrote a long post and it disappeared. (omg, conspiracy, I am being edited!). At this point I couldn’t care less who Jillian picks and I don’t think she does either. She looks “done” with it all. As far as Wes goes, either shit or get off the pot. Quit whining about being edited and go sue ABC. Or shut up already.

Oh my God Steve…will you lay off the Wes crap! You’ve got your head so far up Wes’ butt it’s a wonder you can see anything. Please understand that every time you defend Wes you make yourself look like nothing more than a bitter fool.

Your unsubstantiated claim that TB told Jason to pick and then dump Melissa makes you look dumb enough. You don’t have to compound things by defending a smart ass like Wes.

The Province says Kiptyn is the next Bachelor. Their theory is that Kiptyn was elevated to sainthood in “The Men Tell All…..

“That’s right: While bachelor Ed Swiderski, Kiptyn’s official competition in next week’s final showdown for Jillian Harris’s heart, was shown stumblingly drunk and, um, passing gas at one of the rose ceremonies, Kiptyn was shown passing words of wisdom on to kids at his hometown charity, where everyone cried a little over his unique ability to make a difference…” “Hmmm. A slurringly drunk, flatulent IT guy who likes karaoke, or a sober, compassionate mentor of disadvantaged kids? Are the show’s producers trying to humanize the obvious frontrunner while setting up Kiptyn for a future season?”

Get over Wes, Mr. SR!!!!!! What is your deal? Why did you choose Wes to champion – why didn’t you pick someone else to obcess over, like Dave? Maybe he was he edited to make himself look like the jerk he revealed? What about Jake – was he edited to make himself look so perfect? Do you use a dart board? Eeney-meeney-miney-mo? You could choose any single bachelor, get on their bandwagon and harp incessantly that they were misquoted, unfairly edited and on and on and on! You have become ridiculous! Wes is such a flash-in-the-pan, yesterday’s news and you’re travelling over the country attending his rinky dink concerts, getting drunk, etc. What is Chihuahua, Mexico like this season??? Sterling character!!! PS – Your language is foul too!!!!!

Whats next, Steve, are you going to carry Wes’ lunch box and make sure he has a clean pair of underwear to wear each day? Do you plan to “take care” of him in the bath tub after the next show? You’re Wes love affair is really getting pretty disgusting.

I’ll agree the guy was probably done wrong by ABC, but doesn’t warrant your obsession with the guy.

I’m confused as to why no one is asking why ABC would cast someone or let someone stay on the show who was admittedly there for the wrong reasons… whether they were Wes’s words or ABC stringing together Wes’s words together… it’s still wrong to have someone like that on a show where the ultimate goal is a relationship in the end. and to manipulate the bachelorette like that… ABC should be speaking up and taking some of the blame for Wes/how they portrayed him.

Am I the only one here that thinks that Ed is gay? I seriously don’t buy into the whole “He has a herd of women waiting for him in Chicago”, because let’s face it, WHICH WOMEN would wait for a man that wears those shorts? Seriously. Any man that falls asleep while a half naked woman is rubbing oil on his sunburnt back is not falling asleep b/c he is tired or b/c he is using Jillian. He is SO gay. Which if he is, that’s totally fine, I could care less, but it amazes me that Jillian doesn’t seem to grasp this idea at all.

And what gives with Laurel? Clearly she must have some kind of power over these guys; especially Brad Womack who was my favorite bachelor. Reality Steve, if you could be so kind and tell Wes he should introduce Brad and I that would be great 😉

Love this site and as much as I hate to admit it, it all makes sense. I will probably still watch the show; it’s addicting. However, I do agree that their (ABC) main concern isn’t about finding love. Sad really.

Agreed. Advocating for some justice on behalf of Wes is one thing, but come on, you are practically becoming his PR agent at this point. Even with all the supposed editing and attack on his integrity perpetuated by ABC/Bachelorette, Wes still went on the show to self-promote and he still talked smack and acted like an ass in general. Is some of it understandable? Absolutely. But he’s hardly a victim in these circumstances either. He needs to own some responsibility for himself first. And your cradling him ain’t doing anyone any service.

RS, I am dissapointed in you! this blog was all about Wes.
    It’s getting creepy!
If Wes’s crappy behavior was ALL editing and we didn’t see the REAL him, then WHY DID JILLIAN GET RID OF HIM? Come on RS, stop obsessing and following Wes around. It’s a tad weird.

Steve you may have already touched on this and it may be something so irrelevant but I am curious anyway. In the press, Michael Stagliano has defended Wes time and again and said he never heard Wes say he has a girlfriend AND that Wes was being cleverly edited, however when Chris asked the guys who agreed with Jakes move to tell Jillian Wes had a GF Michael reluctantly held his hand up. I just thought that was strange. Peace.

    July 21, 2009 at 5:20 PM

People, please grow up. Reality Steve has. Yes, he used to be a great court jester, but now he is transitioning into a serious journalist. The networks act with impugnity and think they can damage a person’s credibility for entertainment and ratings. We need people like RS to tell the truth. The public should be hopping mad that the TV stations — and news are feeding us such driven and intentionally hurting innocent people and their lives. We want integrity and the truth. Why do you think Chris was so nasty and mad last night? If Wes were lying, he would have dismissed him as a pathetic baffoon. Instead, he is trying desperately to bury Wes deeper as his reputation depends on it. Chris has been exposed as being a naked host. (Emperor with no clothes.)

Thank God RS is defending Wes. I am not a Wes supporter per say. I don’t know the man well enough to be all that invested. But what was done to him last night on MTA was disgusting…that montage and then slander against his name because of something Tanner may have misinterpreted when the men were all alone in the house. Heck, Tanner lives in his own little imaginary feet world. He is the credible source? As Dave and Sasha said, he did not have sufficient information nor did he challenge Wes on air so that Jillian and producers could call him on it and Wes could either admit guilt or defend himself. None of that happened.

Given the producer’s indulgence of Tanner’s foot fetish, I think there is a possibility he was in tight with them….Even Jillian sung his high praises. Yes he is cute and hilarious in a way, but what normal woman looking for a husband keep around a guy who is obsessed about her body parts.

As for Dave, I think it is possible he was considered for the role of Bachelor. The only reason I say this is that RS said that there were numerous takes of his first impression scene with Jillian….That was staged so he’d get the first rose. Hmmm…suggests a tight relationship between Dave and the Bachelorette production crew to pull that off. “Sorry…we couldn’t name you the Bachelor. Here have the first rose.”

Good work, RS. Maybe now it is time to branch off into serious reporting…

Going back to Wes, I’d like to know why he was such a threat to warrant the treatment he did. Oh, gosh…he might have had a girlfriend…Shock! Horror! (Didnt Dave admit to the same — and insinuated that the others did as well…) Wes came on the show for his music. Shock! Horror! By Wes’ accounts, the producers instructed him to serenade Jillian and wanted to play up his profession. What was his sin? Playing the game? Didn’t the producers tell the men to play the game. There is no legitimate reason to attack him as they had and to ruin his good name. There is something else going on….Maybe related to Brad and Jeremy….They felt their franchise was ruined over Jason….or Brad..and so they made Wes pay? Who knows ..but there is more to this than meets the eye…Thank God RS is standing up and saying ENOUGH! ABC holds public trust responsibility and the public demands INTEGRITY! You go, Reality Steve!

    Questions for Wes:

    1. Will you sue ABC?
2, Why did photos of Laurel leak out around the time of Wes’ ouster if they were not in “cahoots?”
    3. Will Wes hold a press conference or get his accusers together with him in a room to call out ABC over this nonsense?
    4. Were you really just all over Jillian because Jeremy advised you of that strategy?
    5. Do you feel the men were motivated by jealousy that you were more down to earth and that they couldn’t imagine how someone who wasn’t as pretentious as they were was winning the heart of the bachelorette when all the supposed “good guys” (ie, rich, polished, clean cut) were being cut?
6.Did you know cameras were going to be on you all the time..and if so, why didn’t you hold your tounge more?
    7. What is driving ABC’s vendetta against you? What could you possibly have done to have made them decide to destroy your career and reptuation? WHy are you…or perhaps the Bachelor social clique from which you sprung….such a threat.

That’s all for now. Good luck, Reality Steve. Posters, please understand that out insatiable need to be “entertained” is preventing us from seeing the truth. RS is presenting some painful truths about the way our media is operating. Wish him luck. We need people more like him. He’s like the Rush Limbaugh of bloggers. 😀

Yes, the Bachelor/ette is just a stupid diversion and reality TV show…but it is the canary in the coal mine. Let Steve smoke out the truth. You go, Reality Steve!

I have to join in with many others here who are sick of you defending Wes like you really are his pr guy or manager. I totally believe that Wes was edited to look like a villain or a monster and understand how angry and disgusted he feels right about now. But I also believe that he did come on the show with his own agenda, namely publicity for his music career. I have said before that I don’t think Wes is a demon or a saint. I think he’s just a guy who likes to shoot off his mouth before he thinks. If you go on this show, then you have to know that they will edit you to fill the role that they want you to play. So now Wes is the wiser for this experience. Let’s hope he learns from it.

I will also say that it was pretty low for ABC to trash him on the MTA without letting him be there to defend himself. That’s about as bad as it gets, and it does show that they have something to hide. It’s the ultimate cowardice to attack someone and make him out to be subhuman, without letting him speak up for himself. But that shouldn’t surprise any of us who have watched this show for a while. ABC plays dirty and they play for keeps. They are ticked off about Wes going around giving interviews spilling all their little secrets. Last night was their way of getting back at him.

Steve, I do kind of wish that you would get back to just doing your usual snarky commentary about the show and not get so chummy with its rejects. I think it kind of compromises where you are coming from here. Also, this blog is just too much Wes. You will give him his chance to have his say this week, so you didn’t need to spend so much time talking about him. There is such a thing as overkill.

I totally think Jake is a phony and a fake. He is a self-righteous boor who thinks he nees to play God. He backstabbed Wes for his own selfish reasons. Pathetic! Nothing he says comes across as real or spontaneous at all. Even that stupid smile that he thinks is so irrestible, comes across as forced. I think his career as an actor just went down the toilet. I can only hope he is not the next bachelor. It would be like watching paint dry. As far as Dave, he needs some serious therapy. The guy is just clueless about his inappropriate behavior. He was way over the top in his actions towards Juan. Just because someone is different from you and may not live by your so-called “mancode”, doesn’t mean there is something wrong with him. What a jerk!

Finally, I am starting to think that Jillian ends up with no one. Ed is the guy she really wants, but he may confess something that makes her let him go. I don’t see her having any real feelings for Kip. If Reid does go back to propose, I fear it will be too little, too late. As for Jason and Molly, well let’s just say the sight of them made me sick to my stomach.

I somewhat agree with Steve. I think Wes was edited horribly. However, I do think that he went on the show for the publicity. Do I know if he started to have feelings for Jillian? No. Do I care? No. Everyone is edited however the show decides to edit. Is this right or wrong? That is what you sign up for when you go on any show. Will all this bad editing make me stop watching the show? No. I love to tune in every week and make fun of the folks crying because the person that sent them home didnt realize how wonderful they are.

I am soo sick of seeing Molly and Jason. If they are both sooo happily in love and going to spend rest of their lives together, then why hasnt she moved to Seattle? It isnt like she had a wonderful job that she is giving up. She is in retail. Why does ABC feel a need to cram all these soo called happy couples down our throats? I am amazed we didnt have yet another recap on Ryan/Trista. Anyone can be happily married if you somewhat like each other, ABC gives you a million bucks as a wedding gift, and pays for your wedding….

    Just my thoughts.

Thank you Wes supporter 2 for the best comment post thus far. This show is not the same show that it started out to be. Gone are the Trista and Ryan days. It is about RATINGS, at the expense of ruining reputations and lives. And because the show has changed, Steve’s blog has had to change. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Good work RS. Keep it coming. Keep hanging out with Wes. Some of us appreciate the work that you are doing to expose the realities of reality tv.

I agree with a lot of the posters here and pleasantly surprised to see their posts. Enough about Wes. He’s milking this for all the publicity he can get. Even he said even bad publicity is good. And he finds someone like RS who can rattle that chain even more. RS’ blogs are all about how wonderful Wes is (get a room), how awful Chris, ABC and the whole show are and then it’s “and you know they were referring to me”. Really?! Reminds me of the line in a song. “But enough about me, lets talk about you. What do you think about me?” I don’t care for Jason and Molly, but I don’t hate them. Let them go. The show last night was hilarious, especially the outtakes. Jillian was cool and straight forward when talking to the guys. I’m beginning to wonder why RS even watches the show. His earlier blogs were funny, but wow someone must have really done him wrong. More than a bit over the top.

It’s probably easier to believe Wes is all-scumbag-all-the-time than to believe a television network could behave in this manner. But my ?? is, why take it out on RS? I think it’s pretty cool that he got Wes to do an interview for all of us to hear – take from it what you will – RS tends to believe him based on his knowledge of this and past seasons. To me, RS’s POV comes from a guy who A-has inside information B-has had contact with ACTUAL people on the show AFTER they’ve returned to reality and C-someone who has seen this routine play out season after season in one way or another. I mean really, how many of us would tune in if Jillian’s season was simple and without drama – likely, a whole lot less of us…

For the time RS has invested in this show and this blog, it doesn’t surprise me that he is eager to get to know the controversial participants. PLUS, the show isn’t over yet, there is more response to come from Wes.. In my opinion, RS is trying to get us as much ‘horses mouth’ material that he possibly can – and he’s getting bashed? Ironic that this commentary is being written by a Canadian girl – RS may have to reconsider his Northern slams ;o)

Point is, if I had the opportunity to ask the ??’s and speak to the show’s participants – I sure would – maybe it would change my opinion or open my eyes – and if so, great. I don’t think RS is asking anyone to agree with his POV, just putting everything out there that he knows – and maximizing every contact he can get for the benefit of us bachelorette addicts!!

That’s my take I don’t even have an opinion of Wes one way or another really – it’s TV peeps…

(strapping on my helmet tightly – preparing for blogger wack-a-mole reaction most certainly looming lol!!)

When are you going to finish last weeks update? You indicated you were working on something significant but instead just left us all hanging. Was it a dead end? I trust your big story was not Wes and his follow-up interview. Maybe you are with Jillian! Now that would make a great ending.

I am all to tired from this. I feel for Jillian and what she has to go through.
The men were like babbling idiots last night. Grow up. Alright. Who has not farted. they are eating the wrong foods. Mainly with wheat as the main ingredient. Michael Stag: And for God sake man make it a little louder next time. At least he was polite and went off camera for his flatulating experience.
Dave: Man Code my “ASS” A freaking truck driver from the cornfields of Iowa?????. I can see them. “Hey honey where we sleeping tonight…..A little truck stop off I-64.. yaddy yaddy. Whats for dinner…….flatulating causing beef burritos and coke……No wonder he has so many EX’S
For Jason: As Chef Gordon Ramsay says “PISS OFF”

the way I see it ABC needs a new fresh face for the next Bachelor. Not someone we have seen.
Kiptyn would be so boring. Hey “look at my abs” Big friggin deal. there is more to life folks. Can abs pay your bills or cook your meals, take out the trash, drive your cars…No
Ed if he wears the Magnum PI outfit again I will come on the show and burn them.
Reid: Couldn’t handle 30 women let alone one..

My offer still stands to meet for coffee no camera’s at ABC’s expense……LOL
Bring your gf’s if you want.
Jillian knows where she can find me.

RS I am kind of disappointed with your blog. I became a fan last season but something smells funny. To me, you are coming off a little on the creepy Wes groupy side (you partied with him and his band and crashed at their hotel? oooookaaaaay) I give you props for giving the man a chance to say his peace and defend himself and I agree that ABC and the MTA would never have ever let him on because in order to defend himself he would have to point out all the fake-palooza and editing (and all those mid-western overweight single women who are creaming their pants over Jake just couldn’t fathom the show being fake). BUT I have to but… you seem to have lost your objectivity and man of the people reporting. Please don’t become one of those cheese-ass (you see what I did there) celebrity wannabe hanger-on people.
