Even if I didn’t spoil it on Thursday that Natalie would try and pretend she had “Keep”, it was pretty obvious that she wouldn’t. She didn’t have the greatest poker face up there. Not a chance in hell she wasn’t going to split it with Dave. As for next season, obviously I think “Bachelor Pad 2” will need to change a few things up. You can’t possibly have the same ending, since everyone will know going in what it is and they can start having that conversation much earlier in the game about splitting the money, etc. So that part I’m sure will change. The challenges pretty much all sucked, so I’m guessing that will change too. The addition of Melissa Rycroft Strickland Mesnick Pavelka (you know she once dated Jake, right?) UPDATE: Let me correct myself since Melissa’s fans have their panties in a bunch now. I should’ve said Melissa “went out” with him once. Not dated him once. There’s a difference. Dating constitutes they went out numerous times. They didn’t. But they did go out. Melissa should take that up with Jake. He’s the one who told numerous people they did. Ok, back to your regularly scheduled column. did nothing to enhance the show, but I’m guessing ABC has her on some lifetime contract that will keep her there. As for cast members, I’m sure they’re going to stock up on more guys from Ali and Jillian’s season. They saw what casting people from 7 seasons or longer ago did, which is nothing. No one cared, nor really remembered anything about those people. So I would expect the cast to be somewhat fresher.
So that wraps our first season of “Bachelor Pad”. Highly entertaining, a lot of drama, lots of unprotected sex, and more contestants now trying to make a name for themselves somewhere else in the entertainment world. Oh boy. Can’t wait. There’s only so many spots available in Hollywood. Lets see how many can actually make a career out of it. I’ll throw out my guess: None. But hey, that certainly won’t stop them from trying. The tabloids love this show and as long as it’s still on the air, some of these people will still seem relevant. Anything to keep their name in the news. Only problem is, once the next season rolls around, these people will pretty much be forgotten. So outside of a seedy sex tape coming out, or some scandalous threesome, their time is running out. I wish them all the best.
That’s it for this week. Check back next week for the long awaited apology as I set the record straight on something in the “Bachelor” franchise that I misreported. Any questions, comments, emails, praises, criticisms, feel free to email me at any of the information listed above in the “Contact Me” link. Until then?
