For episode-by-episode spoilers of Brad’s season, click on the link above that says “Bachelor Brad Spoilers”. It has a breakdown of every date, rose, and elimination, all the way down to Brad’s final choice. However, this column solely focuses on Brad and his final choice. You’ve been warned.
Yesterday afternoon, I had tweeted and facebooked that I had some major, but not surprising, news regarding the “Bachelor”. Immediately the response I got was, “Let me guess. They broke up.” Uhhhh, no. The reason I said it wasn’t surprising was because I had pretty much alluded to this in a tweet back on Jan. 1st, and if you read my column on Friday, in one of my answers to the “Reader Emails” I pretty much guessed at it. When I told everyone back on Dec. 8th that Brad chose Chantal and that’s the girl he’s with, I’ve never strayed from that. I told you with 100% confidence then that she was the one, then Brad says in interviews he’s happy and in love, and it only furthered what I knew to be right. People were gonna try and poke holes at it, use the wrong Ali/Roberto ending that I had to try and say I didn’t know what I was talking about, etc. That’s fine. But that was last season, and this is this season. Neither have anything to do with each other in terms of what happened and what I know.
So I tweeted on Jan. 1st that the worst kept secret in America right now is who Brad had chosen. People who didn’t even read my spoilers and were casual observers of the show even knew. So I’ve never doubted who he was with for a second. The only thing I didn’t know was the status of their relationship. Until now. Friday night I was given information that I know to be true:
I can report to you with 100% absolute certainty that Brad and Chantal are engaged.
The reason why it’s not surprising is because of what I’ve basically been hinting at from the first day I posted spoilers. I mean, I knew he was with her, then the guy is going on and on about how in love and happy he is, and we’ve seen him in promo pictures on the final rose ceremony day with a ring in his hand. C’mon. It wasn’t that hard to make the assumption that he was engaged. I just didn’t jump to that conclusion and report it as fact until it was confirmed to me on Friday that that’s what the situation is. Once again, no tricks this season, no crazy ass wild scandals, etc. A pretty normal season where Brad chooses a girl, proposes, and she says yes. The end. Good for him. Now only time will tell if that engagement actually leads to a marriage. More often than not on this show, it hasn’t. Let’s see what happens.
So NOW all other media outlets can quote me as saying Brad got engaged on the show. I never understood why they were reporting over the last month that I said that, when I never did. Brad has never said whether he’s engaged or not, and neither has Chris Harrison. But hey, most sites are lazy and uninformed and don’t care. Well, it’s fact now so technically they’re not inaccurate anymore. I’m just waiting for the inevitable cover story in US Weekly in the coming weeks, “Exclusive: Brad Womack Engaged!” You know it’s coming. Good luck to Brad and Chantal. They’re gonna need it.
