“Bachelor Pad 2” Recap – 8/8/11 Including Links to Interviews and My Thoughts on Ben F.’s Date with Jennifer Love Hewitt

Your episode-by-episode spoilers for “Bachelor Pad 2” are in a link at the top of the page, or or click here. You’ve been warned.

A few interview links for you here to get you all revved up for this season of “Bachelor Pad 2.” The Kasey/Vienna/Jake stuff will be talked about a lot this column because, well, that’s pretty much what the show focused on for 3 hours last night. Below I’ve linked to an interview that each of them did with WetPaint.com last week in regards to their thoughts on the upcoming seasons. Jake couldn’t be more phony and Kasey wants to kick his ass essentially. Good stuff. Plus, as a bonus, the first link I have here, since I didn’t post a Friday column last week, is Ashley and JP’s first media conference call after the finale last week. So everyone still with those two still on their brain can read what they had to say about the season. Here are the links:

For those not following on Twitter yesterday, you missed where I was able to confirm that Ben F. went out on a date this past Saturday night in San Francisco with Jennifer Love Hewitt. Long time readers of this site know that, for years, I’ve always had a crush on JLH. It started all the way back with “Party of Five” and will probably last my entire life. Always had a thing for her, even have a couple funny stories from about 10 years ago regarding me, her phone number, and a group of us all huddled around my phone, but we won’t get into that. Anyway needless to say, hearing that she went on a date with Ben Saturday night was crushing. I thought we had something real, Jennifer? I’ve been asking you out in my mind for the last 10 years, yet Wine Boy goes on TV and he gets a date 5 days after his finale airs? How fair is that? How can you do this to me, sweetcakes? I’m hurt.

Now, Ben can deny it all he wants, and make jokes about it on Twitter, but it happened. He knows it, I know it, and the people who were hanging out with them at Lion’s Pub in Pacific Heights know it. I don’t get this guy’s act. Why not just admit to it rather than avoid it? I have no idea if him seeing JLH for one night means anything in regards to his possible “Bachelor” status for next season, all I reported was they went out. Hell, just look at JLH’s twitter account over the last three weeks. You can see how the whole relationship developed. She’s been tweeting non stop on Monday nights how much she likes the guy and he was her favorite, then last Monday she tells her followers (whom she calls “Lovelys”…puke) to get Ben to follow her, Ben finally starts following her on Tuesday, she freaks out, they exchange tweets, and next thing you know, she’s up in San Fran on Saturday and they’re on a date. Geez, is she stalking him? Those tweets were borderline obsessive. Sure, I might be writing this all out of jealousy and my 10 year fantasy was just ruined by a D-list reality guy, but hey, I can still dream, right? Anyway, all I wanted to do was let you know they went out on a date Saturday night. No idea what it means, no idea where it’s going, and no idea how long it’ll last. But if her track record in the dating world is any indication, this will be over sooner rather than later. And it looks like Ben is taking full advantage of his “celebrity” status from this show, albeit at the expense of my heart being stomped on. You bastard.

One last thing to point out before we get started. Just because the “Bachelor Pad” ran a commercial last night telling people to apply to “be on our next Bachelorette”, doesn’t mean it’s happening next season. For the 1000th time in the last month – the “Bachelor” will begin filming in September, end right before Thanksgiving, and begin airing the first week of January, just like it has for the last four seasons. The “Bachelorette” will film from March through May of next year and begin in May just like IT has for the last few seasons as well. And no, the “Bachelorette” will not be Emily for the 1001st time. Hope we’ve cleared all that up. Final casting for the “Bachelor” was this past weekend in at the LAX Sheraton, filming is set to begin in mid-September, and trust me, I’m already ahead of the game. Once the show begins taping, then I’ll start releasing information. Be patient. On to last night…

Lets start by reminding everyone that the BP recaps are not going to be like the “Bachelor/ette” ones. Not nearly as long, and I don’t sit down and take nearly as many notes. It’s more an overview of the episode pointing out some things here and there. It goes without saying that last night’s 3 hours could’ve easily been done in 2 hours. They wanted a big premiere, they obviously wanted to focus on the Jake/Vienna storyline, but c’mon, it was complete overkill. For those wondering, that’s the only 3-hour episode of the season. Everything else will be two. They just figured for whatever reason, they wanted to spend a ton of time on the Jake/Vienna stuff because I guess they thought people loved the drama. It worked for a little while, but then got real old, real fast. You notice that all the hometown videos and the limo exits weren’t completely finished until we were 50 minutes into the show? So yeah, they could’ve sped that up and not spent 45 minutes on the strategizing either. But whatever. It’s over and done with, so lets focus on some of things I noticed.

The hometown videos were quite funny, but immediately right off the bat, let me get this off my chest regarding Rated R Rego. As you all remember, Justin did about a 90 minute interview with me for the website last summer where he vehemently denied ever having a girlfriend during Ali’s season. Every question I asked regarding it, and questioning the voicemails he left her etc, he answered. Watching last night, that was the first time I’ve heard him actually admit it he did have a girlfriend, so I was no doubt disappointed. I’ve removed the interview from the site considering it’s all B.S. now. You try and help people out, you try and give them their say and the benefit of the doubt, and that’s how they repay you. I wanna say I’m surprised at how Rego played me for “airtime”, but I’m not. It’s par for the course. I’d say 90% of the people involved with this franchise are egomaniacs that have completely lost touch with reality and have a much higher opinion of themselves than they should. A lot of phonies, a lot of people that tell you things to your face, and then turn around and say the complete opposite to other people, and basically can be a bunch of pretentious a**holes with no care in the world but themselves. So be it.

It’s getting harder and harder to figure out who’s real and who’s not, which is why I try to not befriend many of them. It’s difficult. Trust me. You think you know someone and then you hear things they tell others and you’re like, “Really? Wow. Total missed the boat on them.” Hell, take Rego for example. We were never close, but I’d like to think giving the guy an opportunity to defend himself for 90 minutes, when everyone in America thought he was a complete douche, would account for something. And it’s not like I was 100% sold on everything he said in the interview. I mean, I was told the other side by the girl that was involved, so it was just a matter of who to believe. However, I do think he came across a lot better in that interview than he did on the show. Then he pisses all over our interview by what he said last night. Unreal. I fully expect I’ll never get an apology from the guy, and that’s disappointing. I want to like him and give the guy a chance, but after last night, I don’t see how that’s possible. I have people from this franchise I would consider friends, and they know who they are, but others are flat out self-centered bad people. So to those who are friends, I thank you and please don’t change. The others? Whatever. They know who they are, what they’ve done, and what they’ve said. I’ve removed myself from any situation from people I feel are dishonest or are just out to promote themselves.

Some of my thoughts on some of the other hometown videos:

Michelle: Awful to hear what her father is going through. Apparently things aren’t getting much better either from what I hear which makes it even worse. Thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family. If you’re looking further down the road at the finale, not that Michelle is looking for sympathy votes on however they decide to do the finale, but you gotta think that it could play a role and people will want to see her win the money.

Gia: I gave my thoughts on Gia last Tuesday and how I’m still confused as to why she’d even do the show again after what happened last time. Well, at least she had a sense of humor about it with her notepad rundown of everything that’s gone on in her life since she appeared on the “Bachelor.” Quite the drama, but she was a good sport about it. However, quite ironic that she called Vienna for being all about herself and out for fame. Isn’t this the third show Gia has been on in the last 18 months? Like I’ve said, if these people want to go on TV to promote their career, that’s perfectly fine. Just don’t pretend that it’s not your motivation.

Kasey: Without a doubt, had the line of the night in his hometown video when talking about Jake saying, “I’ll take a Jake, and wipe my Pavelka.” Awesome. Kasey is going to be the Russell Hantz of this season: controlling the game from day 1, thinking strategy over anything else every day, yet doesn’t win in the end. One episode in and everybody in that house seems to know Kasey is in control of the game and will be dictating who’s going home and who isn’t. Not because he’s not well liked, but because Michael and Holly winning the final challenge killed Kasey and Vienna’s chances of winning.

Graham: A lot of people had forgotten about Graham since it has been three years since DeAnna’s season. He’s done well for himself, and seeing his video of all the charity work he does, you know that’s gonna help him out in the finals as well. You gotta think based off one episode that Graham and Michelle have got to be the front runners for getting more of the votes over Holly and Michael. But who knows how that finale taping is gonna go. I can’t imagine they’re gonna do the exact same thing as last season.

Ella: Well, that was the first time we’d ever heard that story about her and her sister being witnesses to her mother getting murdered by their step dad. Brutal. If she somehow made it to the finals, you could’ve just gift wrapped the 250k. What a horrible story. I don’t remember ever hearing that one during her season with Jake, so needless to say, that was quite the shocker.

Holly & Michael: I’m going to honestly do my best to talk about Holly this season in a way that doesn’t sound negatively biased. Don’t know if I’ll succeed, but I’ll try. Only reason I’m even bringing it up is because a lot of you have picked up on it knowing her and I used to be friends and have read what I’ve written recently. Lets just say Holly isn’t quite atop my Christmas card list this season if you know what I mean. However, despite whatever has gone on, that’s my personal business with her and I’m not here to trash the girl. Do I agree with things she’s said and done? Absolutely not. But that’s not for public consumption in my eyes. This is the first and last time I’ll address it this season, but I hope that answered peoples questions. Hey, the door is always open for her to repair the damage she did. I just won’t hold my breath waiting for it to happen.

As for her and Michael’s backstory, yes, that is the way it played out. They were engaged, were set to have a double wedding with DeAnna and Stephen, Holly got cold feet, called off the engagement, broke Michael’s heart, got back together, Michael couldn’t get past her breaking the engagement, he broke up with her, they go on the show, we see them kissing and going on dates, but now she’s head over heels for Blake and they are a couple. So who the hell knows what’s happening with all that. Makes my head spin. Trying to figure out Holly is not the easiest task in the world. I guess we just sit back and watch the next 5 episodes play out and you all can form your own opinion of her after that.

Hilarious recap! Everything I was thinking, only BETTER! Did anyone else notice at the very end, another beautiful editing blip: Michael turns his head and “guy spits”! NIIIIIICE.

Don’t you think Rego might say he had a girlfriend even though he really didn’t to embrace his bad-boy role.

If he denies he had a girlfriend 99% of the views won’t believe him or will be able to hear his side anyway. He’ll then just look like another person in denial.

If he admits and is proud of it, people are going to talk about him even more. He probably wasn’t even offered to be on the show unless he admitted he had a girlfriend before. You can tell he was acting the part.

I’m surprised Steve didn’t mention the little girl that was awestricken by Jake! JAKE of all people! And her dream is to be on TV… Poor little kid. That’s the impact of Reality TV on the next generation. As much as I like to unwind after another hectic day at work by watching dumb/fake reality show, I don’t think that it’s appropriate for impressionable kids. Most of the people on those shows are not role models.

This show is so fake. It can’t believe that Chris Harrison practically sells his soul to the devil for this franchise.

Vienna waxed poetic in the first hour of the show about being *terrified* of Jake, then later in the show when Chris has the house to gather around, you clearly see Jake leisurely poised behind Vienna while she’s *comfortabley* sitting on the couch. They BOTH were smiling. #1: Anyone that’s terrified of someone is naturally going to make sure that they know where that person is at all times in relation to their personhood. #2: Kasey, in order to protect and defend his girlfriend, would have seen to it that Jake wasn’t positioned directly behind his girl. Instead, Kasey was nowhere near Vienna.

So fake. This show is a joke. I’m not wasting my time on it any further.

I can’t believe they used up three hours for last nights show. Agree, it was not neccessary at all. And Gia? I think its time this franchise retired her. Overexposure much? I feel like I’ve seen her lately more than Jake actually. Hmm, would love to know what Steve’s beef with Holly is. She seems to lack a little depth. Wait, I could be describing anyone on this show.

The competition would have been creative and a good job for the produces, had big brother not had the same competition around 3 years ago. In season 9 they had to do the exact same thing with their partners for head of household.

Noticed no one hugged Jake…euwww who’d want to touch tiny little! Maybe that is the reason Vienna actually wanted to end it with him. Hum…could be he’s tiny all around.

As I laughed my way through the telecast, all I could think was how incredible it was that so many losers with single digit IQs could arrive in the same house at the same time!

Poor Ames still has the deer in the headlights look. He is so socially inept. Please NO to him being Bachelor…but then a double no to smarmy Ryan who would do a Pavelka the whole time.

Vienna needs to get those crossed, googly eyes fixed! It was painfull looking at her but also realizing again how dumb she really is. Ahhh Kasey, her threat to marry you and procreate with you should have scared the beejesus out of you! It did me! Ugh. And how proud are Kasey’s parents to see their boy with such a skank.

What can I say about Fake Jake that Steve has not covered so well. He makes me itch and squirm with that dumb ass smerk. He is so trying to repair his shattered image, but tiny it is too late. No one gives a crap about you now or ever. Please disappear forever!

Graham…what happend to ya buddy…lookin really whipped like the cat dragged you in. Course not half as bad as Erika! That woman is a dog and I am sorry to have insulted the animals out there.

Sorry Steve, but Gia behaves like a 15 year old school girl. Those plumped up soggy looking lips and the hair flips…another person who should disappear…forever. No wonder no man sticks with her.

    Blake still lookin good.

Dan276- I agree with you Justin Rego assessment. Although I thought his behavior last night was an embarrassment to Canadians (and especially Torontonians), I didn`t buy the whole girlfriend confession… Besides seeming edited, I figured he was just going along with the storyline at that point.

I also agree that Gia is so overdone at this point… As much as Vienna has her issues, I don`t think I`d call her a fame whore.

A few things. First I’d retitle the show to Dumb and Dumber meets Extreme Dumbover. Now, Vienna’s nose job. Where? She looked exactly the same to me. Vienna and Kasey as a love match. Really no words. Speaking of no words, I have no idea what Kasey said because he mumbles. He irritates me about as much as Jake and Vienna. Actually all three make Justin look good. And speaking of Justin. I didn’t read your recap, Steve, so I didn’t know Justin would be the first to go. I have to say when they could have made him the Bentley of Bachelor Pad 2, it was a little surprising to me that they kicked him off that easily. On to Jake giving Vienna the rose. Closure my youknowwhat. Jake and Vienna really should have made it as a couple. Both are the most manipulative people on the face of the earth. Jake is so passive aggressive. The guy either needs meds or therapy or both. As for Vienna…she’s a spoiled daddy’s girl. I do not think she has a loving bone in her body to give to others because she’s hoarding them all for herself. Do I believe she loves Kasey? Not by a long shot. Do I believe they’ll live happily ever after? Not by a long shot. Both are babies, too young to even know what integrity is. Jackie buying into Jake and suggesting he give the rose to Vienna…cue the eye roll please. I think the producers tell them what to do and they do it. Did they watch the show last time it was on?? Can anyone be that naive? Jackie disappointed me. I thought she was smarter than that. Therefore, I am going to say it’s all scripted. Every little silly move is scripted. The players are just robots programmed to do the bidding of the writers and producers of this gawdawful show. I thought the last one was bad sticking the poor schnook of a weatherman in there, but this new one is worse. Maybe we have the weatherman in the shape of Will. I feel for Michelle and Ella, but that’s as far as I’ll go.

Too bad the producers of this Bachelor/Bachelor Pad/Bachelorette family feel the need to connive, manipulate, over dramatize and fool the public. They might be fun and interesting shows if they were on the up and up and not done like this.

As Chris Harrison told Jimmy Kimmel…he can’t believe Clint Eastwood watches this crap. And indeed, crap it is. Am I allowed to use that word?

I don’t know why I watch it. I seriously don’t know if I’ll make it through this time…even for the hilarity of it.

I really like Ames, and I’m sorry to see that he looks like he’s still suffering from the concussion he got kick-boxing on Ashley’s season. Ames is sweet, but I don’t think he’s right as the next Bachelor.
I hope it will be either Ben F. or Mickey McLean.
Please – not Ryan, or Jake the Fake again!
Yesterday, I chanced to see two photos of Jake and Ryan side by side.
It was so eerie – and frightening – just how robotic and fake the two looked – and like identical twins too – the same features, shape of face, and chin! The same forced, fake grin. :-(
And Jake wrote that he’s all for Ryan as the next Bachelor!
I guess Jake thinks that if it can’t be him again, then a carbon copy fake robot like Ryan would do.

I agree Ryan appears to be cut from they same cloth that Jake was. Not just looks but the phoniness, cheeseballatry and do-goodery. Somebody on the production team must have the hots for that type.

To “lexasmygirl”: the surgery for Vienna’s nose job was done AFTER the filming of Bachelor Pad Two. As for me, I was fed up with all the whining she was doing about Jake’s being there. Grow up and move on. Especially her attacking Kasey when they lost the challenge to Jake. Not the actions of a woman in love. Just using Kasey while it’s convenient for her. And a way to stay in the spotlight.

Jackie looks like Leah Michelle from Glee, No?
I know I mentioned the similarities in looks to Jake and Ryan, but good grief, Blake, Kirk and Casey also look like Jake and Ryan. Heck Brad even could run with this pack. Whoever is responsible for this-ENOUGH!

I’m thinking Steve is losing his edge here and getting too close to the action. First of all Jake is weirdly fake and robotic and an ass. BUT that doesn’t make Vienna and Kasey any less of freaks or psychotic. Vienna was HORRIBLE this show and every show I’ve seen her on. She is a drama queen that has serious issues. I mean she was berating Kasey over a contest and then she tells him that he is screaming at her, despite her starting the issue. Most normal men would walk away and say “crazy.” Yet he is just as crazy and mentions 40 times..”I’m here to protect” just like he did with DeAnna and like he some cyborg Terminator sent back to protect female hearts. They are basically a Triangle of crazy, self-centered, psychotic people. All 3 of them. So Tevem stop defending 2 of them when the whole group is messed up by any normal standards. Go back to Smack-offs and get your edge back my man.

After watching last night’s ridiculously long 3-hour premiere of BP, here are some of my thoughts:
    1. Graham would be an AWESOME next Bachelor. I had no idea that his job is charity work, as indicated in his foundation and travels to Cambodia, etc… He’s selfless and hot!
    2. I like Michelle.
    3. Vienna (Miss Piggy) and Jake (stupid decision-maker)- I thought I hated Jake the Fake and felt sorry for Vienna after that televised break-up. But, while watching the show, I found myself routing FOR Jake and AGAINST Vienna, which surprised even me. So, I think I dislike Vienna more than Jake, but after seeing Jake make that STUPID mistake of giving the rose to Vienna instead of Gia- who is his friend- I don’t like him either.
    4. Poor Gia.
    5. Kasey- all I can think of is Kermit the Frog.
    6. Blake’s a snake.
    7. Holly is trashy and an idiot who likes hooking up.
    8. Poor Michael; he needs to get over Holly.
    9. Justin- so sad he’s gone! His comments were hilarious, and I wish he was going to be around longer. I loved it when he called Kasey Kermit the frog and Vienna Miss Piggy. Too funny! I alos loved it when he stuck his finger in his mouth to the camera when Vienna and Kasey were hugging. Funny!
    10. It’s so obvious who makes it the farthest since I can’t even remember who else is on the show this season b/c the ones mentioned above were the ones with more screen time in the premiere (plus Justin, of course).
    11. Jake’s decision to give the rose to Vienna basically set up the whole season to be in the bag for the Kasey/Vienna, Michelle/Graham, and Michael/Holly alliance. If he had given it to Gia, then Gia wouldn’t have needed Kasey to save her, so she could’ve voted him out with everyone else on her side.

If anyone watched Jimmy Kimmel last night, he cade fun of the 3-hoour premiere of BP, and showed the clip of Jake, Vienna, and crew outside talking about the weather forever. Then, JK said, “Now you see why they needed it to be 3 hours.” Too funny!

Vienna a terrible person, but Kasey is an idiot to date her. She treats him like crap. All she did was complain to him that he didn’t protect her when he let her go in the challenge. She obviously must be the center of attention and is all about herself (much like Jake). I couldn’t believe how she treated her boyfriend. She was awful to him when he tried his best. She should’ve been encouraging him, and saying, “It’s okay. You did your best and we’ll be fine.” He should run far, far away.

Did anyone else notice those bright pink, crazy shoes in the background when Jake was talking to Gia about giving V the rose? WTF?

Steve, you are so right… Double yawn during the 45 minutes of who is voting off who and scheming before casting the ballots. I fall asleep every time and now just fast forward it all… WHO CARES…. JUST VOTE!!

I liked Jackie until AFFR on Brad’s season. Did they pay her extra to rip into Michelle like that? Jeez… Where did that come from? I don’t care for her and she acted like a baby giving the decision to Jake for who to give the rose to.

Sad to see how immature V and Kasey’s relationship is. He is only her life to upset Jake. This was evident when they didn’t speak after they lost to him at the first challenge. Apparently, it’s not about their love for each other. A mature partner would have supported him (Kasey) and tried to cheer him up/ encourage him for the next round.

Funny that I’m even commenting because we all know these folks aren’t real “normal” or mature or they would not be on the show, right? :) Love how these “characters” entertain us!

    Mommyof2…. My thoughts exactly.

Did anyone else think it was stupid the way people hugged Jackie when they got their rose? She didn’t pick them! ?? She probably ate up every second of that thinking, “OMG- it’s like I’m the Bachelorette!!” :)

sksksk, I’m not sayin Kasey’s the best looking guy around. Just comparing him to what a dork they made him out to be on Ali’s season. Compared to that, he is definitely more attractive on this show than he was before. And compared to Jake the dwarf, I thought he looked taller and better looking. Thanks for the pitiful remark though.

Justin Rego got caught leaving voicemails for his girlfriend when he was on Ali’s season. Producers played a clip of it.

Not sure why he was allowed to have a cell phone. Why do some guys get to use their cell phones and not others? Maybe producers allowed him to use a phone so they could tape him making that call where he proved he did have a girlfriend. Producers could then create a scandal/drama.

  27. mommyof2

    August 10, 2011 at 2:35 PM

addicted2rs- Justin made those calls from the hotel in Scandinavia or wherever they were. His girlfriend saved the recorded voicemails he left- stamped with the dates and times he left them- and she gave those recordings to ABC for the show. Justin thought he’d get away with it, but he was busted. Still wish he was on BP though b/c his comments were funny even though he is an egomaniac.

“Did you notice at the rose ceremony when the guys would come up and receive their roses from Jackie, some gave her a hug, but none of the girls gave Jake a hug?” –WRONG. I believe Erica hugged him. the only one to do so.

Also, no mention of the return of the Mask during the closing credits?? that was hilarious!

I never got how you gave Holly so much time anyway-nor do I know what your issue is with her. She was unmemorable (literally) from what ever season she was on and basically established herself as the town whore with other contestants to make herself known. But what really sealed it was that interview you had with her. She is truly an insipid dolt. I hope Micheal wakes up and realizes he is dodging a germy bullet with this one. If he were not so annoying I would think this back story could possibly make him a bachelor contender…if Ames and Ben were not so darn appealing. Bad timing I guess.

Holly looked soooo much better with blonde, short hair like when she was on Matt Grant’s season.

Would be incredibly curious to find out Reality Steve’s opinion of Holly because her relationship with Michael does seem to be incredibly confusing. While anyone can understand that she backed out for her own reasons, it appeared that in her introduction she was still very much in love with him, and him with her. From that it’s hard to understand what led her to now be with Blake. Also, it seems that Reality Steve could shed some light through his opinion of her on the relationships she has (had/has) with Deanna Pappas and Natalie Getz that do not appear to be as strong anymore, as they appear to be rooting for Michael as well. Would be very curious as this is my main interest in watching the show. I care very little for Jake and Vienna but Holly and Michael seem to have a genuine relationship.

This is my first time watching BP. What a piece of crap this show is, seriously. They certainly cast it well–just feeding us the fame-mongering shallow body-obsessed losers they identified from the Bachelor/ettes of the past.

I think what really stands out is first, the virtual incest going on with these losers – everyone interdating and cheating on each other with other Bachelor losers and second, the fact that these people got 15 minutes of fame up to 7 years ago and still just can’t let go trying to be in the spotlight. Makes me want to gag.

I don’t think it’s possible to quantify how unappealing Jake is. “Fake” just doesn’t cover it. He’s borderline politician-like, always trying to repair his image. Disgusting. and though I find him revolting, I STILL don’t see the attraction to Vienna. Is she not cross eyed or something? Serious but-her-face in my opinion.

Of course I’ll keep watching :)

I also agree with Mommyof2, Vienna berating Kasey for not hanging on for longer, jeeze what a self centered bitch she is, I’m beginning to wonder who was the villain in her relationship with Jake, granted he is a douchnozzle (love that word)but she appears to be as self centered as he is.

I happen to really like this season, didn’t watch last years at all as I found it boring and stupid but I am enjoying watching this. However, if I hear guard and protect one more freaking time I’m going to shoot myself. Makes me want to run out of the house screaming it’s so annoying, it’s up there with Bentley being repeated over and over.

    Good recap as always.

I hate Fakey Jake… however… I do have to admire how he was so stoic during the challenge and used mind games to hang on in spite of his pain and his foot turning visibly blue. He imagined Jackie was going to fall off a several thousand foot cliff unless he held on – and the rescue copter was arriving and it would take 20 minutes to send help down – so he only had to hold on 20 more minutes to save her life. That was actually pretty smart and admirable. If you were falling off a cliff you could do worse than too have Jake be the guy hanging on to you!

Vienna is much less sympathetic now that she revealed her true colors – berating Kasey for letting her go. She is about as selfish as they come.

The show is a guilty pleasure. I watch it with my husband and we laugh at them all. Summer fun.

after watching this weeks episode (episode 2) it makes me think that the ex-bachelorettes must be watching this show and thinking “thank god i didn’t choose that guy!” i am thinking, in particular, about blake.
as for jake, i dont understand why so much of america is fooled by this guy…i saw straight through his phoney bulls**t act as far back as the episode where he comes back to tell jillian that wes “has a girlfriend”. hes really not a very good actor so i dont understand how so many people fall for it!
