The day I’ve been waiting four months for has finally arrived. I can tell you til I’m blue in the face (which I have), I can give you details of safehouse visits, I can give you pictures from the final rose ceremony, and I can give you ATFR spoilers which confirm they’re together, but nothing makes it more official than the finale airing and you get to see it for yourself. What you’ll see tonight has been a forgone conclusion since I was told about the finale 3 or 4 days after it happened back in November, but had to wait until Dec. 14th to announce it. I’m just glad you will all get to see for yourselves officially tonight.
Lets get to a few news and notes regarding Emily’s season before I reveal five guys confirmed for her season. As I stated on Thursday, Emily’s season is going to be a bit different in terms of spoilers since the first few episodes are being shot in Charlotte, and already, there are plenty of twitter accounts and local Charlotte people who have witnessed filming, seen the mansion, etc. And I’m sure once the dates begin filming at the end of this week, more and more stuff will be getting out. I will break stuff when I have it, but since I don’t write everyday, when I do, it’ll be summary of what’s been reported to me, or what I’ve seen on some of the local Charlotte news sites and Twitter accounts. The guys have arrived in Charlotte and filming begins Wednesday night the 14th at the mansion on 16424 Marvin Road. Other notes:
-Chris Harrison tweeted last week that there’s a big announcement tonight during the show that will have all the fans happy. Then this morning, he tweeted again that after tonight’s show “Bachelor fans will have homework to do.” Well, I can tell you now what this announcement will be. It concerns “Bachelor Pad.” Basically, they are going to rip off what the “Real World/Road Rules” franchise did years ago. In addition to having the “Bachelor Pad” cast having former cast members on it, they are going to leave a few spots open to “outsiders,” and anyone can apply. Kinda like how Evan, Kenny, Eve, Diem, Laurel, Cara Maria, and Big Eric are all household names in the “RW/RR Challenge” franchise, but were never actually on “Real World” or “Road Rules” before.
I think this concept could work, BUT, they’re gonna have to go all out. If you cast 3 or 4 “newbies,” do they really stand a chance under the current rules we’ve seen in the first two seasons? They won’t know anybody going in and they wouldn’t be able to form pre-show alliances. If they really want it to work, I think they have to do what the RW/RR Challenge did, and make half the cast former contestants and half the cast newbies. That seems to be the most fair thing to do. But then again, this show isn’t about being fair so who knows if that’ll happen. So that’s the announcement. The public will be able to apply for spots on “Bachelor Pad.” I do not know how many at this point.
-Emily’s season will consist of 3 or 4 episodes shot in Charlotte before traveling begins. I have been made aware of some of the places they will be heading, but I don’t know in what order yet, and I’m waiting for more confirmation and details before I tell you. Once I get what I need, you will know.
-Still a lot of speculation regarding Bentley making an appearance on the show. It’s all speculation at this point. I could see it going either way. I’m under the impression right now that Bentley is not going to show up, but things could change. I can see why they’d bring him on though. He’d never last, Emily would never choose him, but I can see him coming on to try and repair his image. I will let you know once I hear something concrete.
-There is a date that’s been done a few times before that is being looked at again for Emily’s season. Also, the Charlotte Motor Speedway will NOT be holding any dates at their track or in conjunction with the show, so it looks like they are staying away from the NASCAR angle. Good.
-Expect one of Emily’s dates to be at one of the hundreds of wineries in the Charlotte area. Haven’t confirmed which one yet.
