Pretty interesting episode last night, huh? I’ll get to it more in my recap, but that was quite the ending. Yes, I was well aware of what went down, but for reasons explained in my August 7th column, I wasn’t able to share with you beforehand. I will dissect it just a little bit more later in the column, including what I think was an absolute huge mistake by the producers in last night’s episode that I’m sure they’ll never explain and never address. But it was pretty blantant and completely changed this game going forward.
As I mentioned last week, there will be no video blog Thursday because I will be out of town, but I will post a column that morning before I head out to California. So get your emails in now, and I’m sure they’ll be posted on Thursday. Wanna know the most amazing part of Thursday’s column? As of right now, I already have 11 “Dr. Reality Steve” questions. No idea why I have so many already this week. Must be from all the brilliant advice I give out on a weekly basis. This week’s are good. And you should see the first three that I received. Holy crap. It freaked me out. I thought they were all interrelated and the three people involved were all emailing me separately without the other ones knowing. However, just to make sure that wasn’t the case, I found out behind the scenes that they were three separate emails, sent from three separate people, about three different scenarios. You’ll understand better when you read them.
This Sunday is the taping of the “Bachelor Pad” finale. I am allowed to spoil that, so when I get the info from what happens at the taping, I will share it with you. Could be late Sunday night, could be Monday morning. Not sure yet. I will post it when I find out. Some interesting news that broke late yesterday evening, as RumorFix.com reported on their site that Blakeley is planning on moving to Portland shortly, and that Tony plans on proposing to her at the finale taping. Basically, a rip off of the Blake/Holly storyline from last season, although Blake did it the day before, and they just showed everyone the footage the day of the taping. I have no idea how accurate this story is, although I know Tony and Blakeley have spent plenty of time together since the show has ended. However, if he was planning to propose on Sunday, cat’s out of the bag now. Blakeley won’t be surprised in the least bit considering she’s at least seen it’s an option now. And if it’s true that she is planning on packing up and moving to Portland, well then, I guess it’s pretty serious to begin with. It’ll be interesting to see if a proposal does happen now at the taping, and if it does, I’m guessing Tony probably isn’t too thrilled some site already ruined it. Sucks for him.
Lets talk about the “Bachelor” real quick. As I said last week, it was Roberto’s gig to lose, they’d been after him since June, and I hadn’t heard anything to the contrary to make me think otherwise. Then of course the next day, stuff happens on Twitter, people come forward telling you stories about what Roberto’s been up to, and it definitely clouds the picture. I’ll stick to exactly what I said last week: If it’s not Roberto, it’s going to be Sean. Arie is not going to be the “Bachelor.” And neither is Ryan Lochte. That’s pure media hype put out by a publicist to keep his name out there. Now, I originally had heard they planned on announcing the next “Bachelor” during the finale taping, just like they did with Ben last season. But considering the ratings absolutely suck for this season, I don’t see that happening anymore. But if for some reason they do, then it definitely isn’t Sean because he is in NY this Sunday with other “Bachelore/ette” alumni for a Scavenger Hunt charity event. And then the next night is in Philadelphia, for Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels “Denim and Diamonds” charity event. Busy guy.
We are still over 3 weeks away from filming of the “Bachelor” beginning. I guarantee you ABC does not “officially” announce their choice for at least another 2-3 weeks. They are going to wait as long as they can on this. Remember, Emily was announced in January of this year and filming began in March, but she’s been the exception, not the rule. Every other time they’ve announced it since they’ve gone with recycled contestants, they’ve waited until the last possible minute before filming to make it official. Hell, Brad 2.0 had already started filming his season before he was “officially” announced and introduced on “Dancing with the Stars.” They are going to drag this thing out for as long as they can. The “Bachelor Pad” finale is on September 10th. There’s no way they’re gonna have whoever the next “Bachelor” is announced this Sunday at the taping, and expect word not to get out until the 10th. Please. They are going to hold on to this and wait as long as they can. I said last week that filming for “Bachelor” begins September 15th. Actually that’s wrong. It’s closer to September 20th. How do I know this? Well…
