Only gonna be one column this week unless something happens to break this weekend while I’m in New York. Then I’ll try and find my way to a computer and update you, but I don’t expect much. So today just a few news and notes to rundown in terms of where we’re at in the season and stuff that maybe you missed on Twitter. Also, going to throw in a few “Reader Emails” and “Dr. Reality Steve” emails as well. Not many, but just a few. Looking forward to the get together Friday night at Bounce Sporting Club on 55 West 21st Street. Stop by if you’re around. We’ll be there pretty much after 8:00pm. And Yankee fans, lets hope you don’t lose today, the Orioles win today, then you lose tomorrow, or else you’ll be stuck in that game Friday night. Either way, it should be a good time to all gather in one area and I can share all the secrets of the Bachelor that I don’t share in my column. Or not.
Before I get started, lets just get this out there right now. I’ve been made aware that the cover of “In Touch” magazine today is a split cover showing a picture of Ashley & JP talking about their upcoming wedding, and Emily and Jef saying they’re broken up. I don’t think that’s true. As far as I know, they’re not broken up. Yet. Will it happen eventually? Of course. But they are still together as of this morning for all intents and purposes. Trust me people, when Emily and Jef do break up, everyone will know about it. They’ll officially release a statement, and most entertainment websites will have it on their front page. It’s not like it’ll happen without anyone knowing. Impossible in this day and age. However, until a tabloid runs another story with an actual source, what I posted on Friday will be my last words on the whole subject. I’m going back to “Lets just let the whole thing play out and let the chips fall where they may.” I talked about it Friday because it directly related to someone I had an interaction with. And no, I did not get in trouble, or get sued, or cost myself thousands of dollars in legal fees because I scanned US Weekly’s story and printed it. Two hours after it went up, legal counsel from US Weekly emailed me and told me to take it down due to copyright laws, I did, and they emailed back and said “Thank you.” End of story. To see some of the reaction from people on Twitter was mind boggling. People need to calm down over things they know nothing about.
As for Ashley and JP having a televised wedding in December? Good for them. One of the few couples in this franchise I actually like and I’m very happy for them. And I’m absolutely excited about getting them a gift like I promise any couple from the “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette” finale that ends up getting married. It’s definitely not the easiest way to meet someone, and certainly isn’t normal, but like I always say (and Trista says), you only meet the other person on the show. Your relationship begins when the show is over. Ashley and JP were already geographically close to each other so I think that helped, and, not to mention, it’s gonna be a full year and a half basically from the time they got engaged last May til the time they get married. So they seemed to do things correctly, didn’t move out to LA, didn’t get caught up in the Hollywood lifestyle, and it’s worked out for them. Now, once I find out where they’re registered, their gift will be purchased. Good luck to the two of them.
