A very short week for me. Not column wise, since you’ll get your “Dr. Reality Steve” tomorrow and “Reader Emails” on Thursday, but, I’m on a plane to Vegas Thursday morning for my friends’ 40th birthday. Hence, I will not be too interested in anything “Bachelor” related for four days straight. Essentially, once those spoilers were posted back in November, there really wasn’t much else to figure out this season, and outside of the specifics behind Sarah’s exit, every other spoiler I gave you this season was 100% correct. My “detective” work happens in the two months that the show is filming, and then when the season airs is actually the easy part – which is making fun of the show. So in March thru May when the “Bachelorette” is filming is when I’m piecing all my info together. I’m gathering info on the guys who will be appearing on the “Bachelorette” as we speak. I’ve got four that I’m pretty solid on and a few others I’m still trying to get details about. I’ll release those some time in the next couple weeks. Then I post the spoilers once the season is over and breathe a sigh of relief since a major part of my work is done. This weekend will give me a little breather after going two straight months with three columns a week. Tough work, huh? Hey, I earned it. Watch out craps tables and all blackjack dealers. I’m on a mission this weekend.
In case you missed the announcement earlier this morning, the DWTS cast was announced this morning, however, Sean was not on the list. Trust me, Sean is doing DWTS, but because his show is still airing, they’re going to hold off on announcing him. My guess is they make the announcement during the live ATFR show on the finale March 11th, and his partner will be Peta. It could be sooner, who knows? So I guess you could say I have my first non-“Bachelor” related spoiler ever, but technically, if Sean wasn’t on the “Bachelor” I wouldn’t know about any DWTS casting. I never have in the past. But he’s definitely doing it nonetheless. It’s not speculation, or I’m hearing rumors. This is a certainty, and it makes all the sense in the world for them to want him. His ratings have been the best in 2 years for this franchise, he’s likable, he’s in shape, and there’s a demand for him now. On the flip side, Sean would’ve been an idiot to turn this down considering even if he gets booted on the first elimination, he’s guaranteed somewhere in the 100-125k range. The longer you last, the more you make. Some people will compare this to Jake saying Sean is a famewhore, etc. See, that’s where I think they differ. Jake had an acting background before he ever did the “Bachelorette,” then became the “Bachelor.” And he pretty much told everyone who would listen behind closed doors he wanted to be famous and get into acting, and that’s exactly what he’s done since his show ended. If Sean wanted to act, he’d move to LA, you’d see him hosting TV shows or taking hosting classes. That ain’t happening. He got an opportunity that he’d be an idiot to pass up, so he took it. I can’t fault him for that. What happens after DWTS will determine if he’s seeking fame. This show changes A LOT of people, but by all accounts, I don’t believe he’s after fame. For the DWTS cast list (along with the pairings) that was announced in case you missed it, click here.
I’ve said for a while now that the “Bachelorette” was Lindsay’s gig to lose, and although of course they were considering others like Desiree and AshLee, all signs since November have been pointing to Lindsay being the next “Bachelorette.” Not anymore. I’ve got it on pretty good authority that Lindsay will NOT be the next “Bachelorette.” So I guess the race is wide open now, since honestly, I don’t know who it is at this point. Your candidates are obviously Desiree, AshLee, Lesley, and Sarah, but I think Lesley and Sarah are waaaaay long shots. I don’t see that happening. My guess would be Desiree based on fan reaction so far of the remaining girls. However, I was pretty certain it was gonna be Lindsay for a while now, and I’m very confident that it’s not. When I hear something about who the next “Bachelorette” is, I will let you know. What I know right now though is that it’s not Lindsay. And no, it’s not because Sean chose Lindsay and the spoiler is wrong. Please.
Both Lesley and Desiree gave interviews with the media last week talking about their time on the show. You can read Desiree’s interview here and Lesley’s interview here. Both interview have links at the bottom to them to Part 2’s of the interview since they came out on different days, so be sure you click those to read the full interviews.
I forgot to tweet out that “Burning Love” released episode 5 on Friday. I apologize for that, so here it is in case you missed it:
Hope those of you who are fairly new to this remembered to DVR season 1 on the E! channel last night. Every Monday night for the next 7 weeks, they’re showing season 1 for those that missed out. If you never watched it, you must. It’s about the best parody show on TV or the internet right now, and it’s not even close.
