“Reader Emails,” “Dr. Reality Steve,” & Your “Bachelor in Paradise” Spoilers

The magic of WiFi. Currently on a flight headed to CA for the weekend and finishing up today’s column. Wanted to wish a Happy 10th Birthday to my niece Olivia today. I cannot believe she’s 10. That’s is ridiculous, it’s insane, and just wrong on so many levels. She’s now closer to graduating high school than she was to being born. If that made any sense whatsoever. It did in my head. So to commemorate today’s birthday, she will be joining me on the live video chat tonight at 9:00pm EST/6:00pm PST for the last 15 minutes. We’ll decide if Nicholas is fit enough to come on tonight. We all remember what happened last time as he was on a sugar high and showing everyone his gum. I’ll try and keep him away from all sugars before the show starts. Won’t be easy. And oh yeah, Olivia’s friend might be there too since we’ll be having a BBQ at my sister’s house tonight for her birthday. Should be interesting. See you then.

In case you missed my tweet last night, or haven’t checked the site since then, your “Bachelor in Paradise” episode-by-episode spoilers are now up. You can either click that link, or just scroll down to the post below this one. I wanted to get you all the basics of what to expect: everyone who appeared on the show, when they came in, how/why they were eliminated, and how it ended. There are a few dates missing and the who-gave-a-rose-to-who might be mixed up on a few occasions, but for the most part, all of that is accurate. I know it seems a little confusing, but when you actually read through each episode, it actually isn’t all that bad. I’m sure we’ll talk about it more tonight.

Forgot to put this in Tuesday’s column, but Cody had his conference call with the media last week. I found it funny because he had to answer questions about Andi’s season, yet he had just returned from filming “Bachelor in Paradise” where he and Michelle left as a couple, so he’s probably like, “Yeah, whatever. Don’t care about these questions.” I know, I don’t think anyone would have predicted Cody and Michelle to end up together, especially when he doesn’t arrive until episode 4, but hey, it happened. Now we just wait and see if it works out. I will say this for Cody. In all the years I’ve covered this show, I probably have heard at least one negative thing about every relevant guy who’s appeared. Most I’ve heard numerous things. In the three months we’ve known Cody to be a contestant on this show, I’ve yet to hear even one negative thing about the guy. That surprises me. Still plenty of time, but as of now, it’s been the opposite. People have done nothing but gush about him to me. So props to Cody so far for avoiding that. Lets see how long that lasts.

One last deleted scene that wasn’t up by the time I posted on Tuesday. Which sucks because this is the best one yet. I mean, if you didn’t care for Nick before, you’ll probably dislike him even more after this. I mean, this is just straight up cocky, arrogant, and about as self absorbed as you can get.

  1. Not sure why you needed to publish so many redundant letters about Courtney’s book. Residuals? Wishful thinking?

  2. Steve promised to include all emails so obviously there were a lot about C’s book. Dont overthink it.

  3. That deleted scene just cemented my thoughts on Nick.I used to think maybe too much editing but that was bad and good he learned how to edit on social media he might need it. From that plane video, I think he watched more than one season he was kinda pointing to the result of Jason and Molly’s too so he may have seen more than one season. Seems like he’s quite familiar with many things.

Ok now I feel like checking out Courtney’s book since its a NY bestseller list already too the emails about it intrigue me.

I keep seeing a BIP reunion pic thing on IG popular page this time. But seems like the LA peeps/west coast people mostly.

  4. The Jason and Molly thing got a LOT of media attention when it happened. I had never seen any of the shows when it happened, but I still remember hearing a lot about it. I started watching the franchise with Jillian’s season because I was interested in what all the fuss about the show was. So I can see where Nick would know the ending without having seen Jason’s season.

Also, all the guys are stuck inside their hotel room for days on end, the topic of past Bachelor(ette) seasons might have come up and someone else might have mentioned it.

  5. I have never emailed Steve and missed the opportunity to email for the site on Thursday .

I hope he reads the comments:
    Couple semi interesting comparisons .

Both Clare and the second place gal on Sean’s season , I can’t remember her name ) got out of limo preggers and both were number 2.

Both Clare and Nick snuck to leads room and were number 2.

    Word to upcoming contestants !
    1) the lead does not find it charming when you arrive with a fake pregnancy .

    2) do not sneak out and visit the lead . They may think it exciting at the moment but not much later .

  6. Courtney snuck out to visit Ben Flatdick and screwed him in the ocean. I guess if you visit the lead, be prepared to give up the goods.

  7. Well @rob22 I might not always agree with what you write – but I always, always find your comments entertaining. Haha, thanks for the laughs.

  8. I made a mistake above .. Her game was Lindsay and she arrived in a wedding dress … A little drunk I believe .
Any way font do that either future contestants …. :)

  9. I don’t see anything wrong with contestants watching – even studying – previous seasons of ‘The Bachelor’ or ‘The Bachelorette’. Maybe then they could understand what they are getting into and how the show works. Maybe then there wouldn’t be contestants like Eric asking the lead to “give me a sign, give me something, to let me know I’m in the right spot.” If the lead gave everybody a sign as to where they stood, the series would be over in a couple weeks. Who, except the guys there for the publicity, would want to stick around, waiting for their turn to be humiliated on national TV by not getting a rose.

Criminal law is really stressful law. Andi would be a lot better off making contacts as a result of this show than going back to criminal law. There are a lot of other jobs available for people with a law degree. I don’t see her becoming an actress or a model. I see her getting a job in some entertainment-law related field.

And Steve, you’re starting to sound as cocky as Nick and that’s not a good thing…..
