As I mentioned once this season started, there were 7 episodes that were filmed, but only 6 Mondays from Aug. 4th to Sept. 8th, so at some point they needed to double up. I thought they’d double up on the finale but I guess not. Next week we are getting episodes 4 and 5 back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday, so that’s answers that. Still no word yet if they are going to do a reunion show to update people on the couples. In case they don’t, I can tell you it’s still the same. Only two couples survived the show, Marcus & Lacy are engaged, and Cody & Michelle are still together. Everyone else that broke up at the end is still broken up. No one has gotten back together. As for next week, they couldn’t have possibly picked a worse week to show back-to-back episodes, at least as far as this site is concerned. I’m in CA this weekend, but my fantasy football draft is next Monday night. So I will not be live tweeting the show. I will have to watch it later that night and post the recap Tuesday morning, then get on a plane back home. I don’t land in Texas til I think 7:30 Tuesday night, so I won’t be live tweeting that episode either. Oh well. You’ll have to somehow get through those nights without my witty brilliance. I apologize in advance.
A lot of you have tweeted and emailed me since last night’s promo for the next two weeks aired asking what some of those things are about. The shot of AshLee at the rose ceremony saying Graham’s name and them him walking off is, shockingly, just editing. Before AshLee even says Graham’s name at the rose ceremony, Graham walks off set because he feels sick. He eventually comes back, she asks if he’ll accept her rose, and he does. Of course they make it seem like he’s having second thoughts. Wasn’t the case. He got sick. As for the producers running through the jungle looking for somebody, I don’t know who or what that is, but I honestly don’t think it’s a big deal. I think it’s editing again. If it was a major event that happened, I probably would’ve heard about it. I think it’s just a tease to get people interested. The ambulance is for Lacy because she gets sick from either dehydration or food poisoning, which I mentioned after the first promo of the season aired.
Another rumor that made the rounds last week was that AshLee and Graham
dated before the show. Not true. Neither of them had ever met before stepping foot in Mexico. Remember, Graham did say in an interview, that before the show he was most interested in meeting AshLee. Says a friend of his had dated her and he had nothing but great things to say about her. I’m assuming he was talking about Brad Womack. But yeah, no truth to the rumor they knew each other or had met before the show started.
So last week I re-posted the link from when I spoke about the E! show called “The Bachelor: Then and Now” that I was unceremoniously dumped from after one airing because, well, ABC told them to take me off. It aired in the summer of 2010 right before the first “Bachelor Pad” aired. Well I mentioned a reader emailed me and still had a recording of it on her DVR> Here it is, minus all the commercials. Amazing how they got so bothered by my appearance they not only had E! immediately cancel any repeats, but replaced all of my scenes with someone else paraphrasing everything I said. I haven’t re-watched this whole thing, but I will at some point. It’s not the best of quality because they basically had to record their television set, but you can still hear everything. Enjoy:
Ratings from last night are in, and they are down a tad from the first two episodes. Early returns are usually off by 100-200k viewers, so expect this number to be right around 5 million viewers when the official numbers are in. The show is holding pretty steady so far and basically all three episodes have each drawn more total viewers than any of the 8 episodes “Bachelor Pad 3” did.
There will be a “Reader Emails” and “Dr. Reality Steve” this Thursday, along with the live video chat Thursday night from CA at 9:00pm EST/6:00pm PST. Which means that I’m sure we’ll get an appearance from Olivia and Nicholas, 4 days before they begin 5th and 2nd grade respectively. Fun times all around. The video issues we had last Thursday night which forced me to cancel the show seem to have been fixed. See you Thursday night.
