The Bachelorette 11 - Kaitlyn/Britt

Breaking Down the “Bachelorette” First Episode Press Release

We’re getting closer and closer to the premiere. Yesterday, ABC issued their press release on the first episode of the season. They’ve changed websites now going from www.abcmedianet.com to www.disneyabcpress.com, which makes it a little more difficult to just link to the press release. The link in the second sentence just brings you to the press release page, and then you have to click on the latest press release and the “i” with the circle around it to read. Annoying. So I decided I would just cut and paste the whole press release for you today and kinda go over a few things in it that you don’t have answers to. I’m leaving for CA for the weekend tomorrow, but there will be a column up that’ll have “Daily Links” since I’m skipping them again today. Sorry. So tomorrow’s “Daily Links” will have three days worth of links in them. The press release doesn’t really give you a lot that I haven’t already told you, but there are a few things. So here’s the whole press release with some of your answers afterwards:

“The Bachelorette: Episode 1101A (5/18 & 5/19)

SEASON PREMIERE

BACHELOR NATION WANTS TO KNOW: WILL IT BE BRITT OR KAITLYN?

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, TWO BACHELORETTE FAN FAVORITES WILL GREET THEIR SUITORS WHEN THE 11TH SEASON OF “THE BACHELORETTE” PREMIERES WITH A TWO-NIGHT SPECIAL, MAY 18 AND 19

This Season’s Highlights Include Appearances by Top Comic Amy Schumer, Boxing Champion Leila Ali and Rap Star Doug E. Fresh, a Bachelor Broadway Competition, Featuring Disney’s “Aladdin,” the Tony-winning hit Broadway musical, Plus a Private Concert by the Rock Group The Cranberries and Romantic Excursions to New York City, San Antonio and Ireland

“Episode 1101A” – America fell in love with two very different but dynamic Bachelorettes last season – Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe. It was hard to choose between the beautiful, charming Britt and the gorgeous, fun-loving, wise cracking Kaitlyn. So now, 25 eligible bachelors will choose between these two amazing women. For the first time in franchise history there will be two Bachelorettes. Chris Soules sent both ladies home broken hearted, but now with another chance at love, both women are ready to take a journey they hope will wind up happily ever after, on “The Bachelorette” two-night premiere event, MONDAY, MAY 18 (9:01-11:00 p.m., ET) and TUESDAY, MAY 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m, ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Editors’ note: “The Bachelorette” will return to its regular time slot on Monday, May 25 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), with Episode 1102.

Chris Harrison greets the two stunning Bachelorettes to the mansion, and Britt and Kaitlyn stand side by side as the limos start to arrive. Britt, beaming in a strapless flowing white gown, is the tower of confidence. Kaitlyn, exquisite in a glittering navy gown, is trying her best to hide her nerves. The men are striving to make a lasting first impression. Some suitors give both women equal attention, while others make it no secret who they want to be the Bachelorette. One man makes an immediate connection with Britt, another reveals his secret identity — opening his shirt to show his “Love Man” status. A fitness trainer, arriving with a bunch of helium-filled balloons, proceeds to give a high-pitched compliment to both ladies.

Kaitlyn watches her counterpart handle the unique situation with grace and ease, while she is a bit unnerved, but that is only until one cool, self-assured man whispers he is there just for her. Her new found confidence empowers her to take charge of her situation. The men stop at nothing to get noticed: a cupcake car, a hot tub car, lap dances for both Bachelorettes. But the women are told that the 25 men will be picking just one of them to continue the journey. After Britt and Kaitlyn enter the party, it is obvious Kaitlyn is using her sense of humor to break the ice, while Britt is displaying heartfelt sincerity to score points with the men. Every man is excited to get to know both women, anxious to get alone time with each Bachelorette. Britt and Kaitlyn scramble to win over as many men as they can. Chris Harrison finally steps in and tells the men that each of them has one vote for the woman they want to continue on as the Bachelorette. Once the votes are counted, one of the lovely ladies will be going home. And to add to the tension, one bachelor causes chaos on his own having had a few too many. He pulls such a disrespectful move that the other bachelors take him on, and Chris needs to intervene for the first shocker of the season.

Once Chris returns to the men and announces all the votes are in, the mood gets very serious. One woman will leave — the other will start on her journey to find love. So who will it be? Britt or Kaitlyn?

A list of bachelors will be released at a later date.

Romantic and adventurous dates will reach new heights this season, testing the men’s perseverance in pursuing their romantic objective, along with fun, exciting and exotic dates that will elicit real and raw passions. An action-packed schedule in Los Angeles begins with a day of boxing with undefeated champion Laila Ali and continues with a stand-up comedy date with comedy superstar Amy Schumer at the Improv — both in front of a live audience. Then the guys get a huge wake-up call when world class sumo wrestlers use gongs to set the next group date in motion. The Bachelorette’s Manhattan adventure begins with surprises ranging from a rap battle date with the help of mentor rap star Doug E. Fresh, to one of the most romantic dates of the season at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The lights of Broadway are not far behind, as a group of men audition, trying to sing and dance their way into the Bachelorette’s heart with hopes of being chosen to be featured with her in that night’s performance of Disney’s “Aladdin,” the Tony-winning hit Broadway musical. San Antonio awaits the remaining men, complete with a two-step dance competition and a Mariachi serenade for the Bachelorette. Traveling across the Atlantic to Ireland, the dates are filled with explosive revelations and drama, as the group journeys to Dublin and a stop at the magnificent Christ Church Cathedral. The Bachelorette and one lucky man are treated to a private concert by the popular rock group The Cranberries. Then their Irish excursion moves on to Killarney with a romantic trip to the Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney Stone.

What will the future hold for whichever woman is chosen to be this season’s Bachelorette? There will be more fireworks, surprises and drama than ever, as well as the most unpredictable, sexy, emotional, over-the-top fun with more stunning jaw-dropping moments. Bachelor Nation will be taken on a romantic rollercoaster ride of a season like no other.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, Martin Hilton and Alycia Rossiter are the executive producers. “The Bachelorette” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 stereo surround sound. A parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.”

Ok, let me cut and paste some quotes from this and kinda fill-in-the-blanks for you:

“Some suitors give both women equal attention, while others make it no secret who they want to be the Bachelorette.” – Britt never had a chance at being the “Bachelorette.” This was going to be Kaitlyn from the get go when they decided to go with two. They just wanted to switch things up the first night, but it was clear that guys were steered in the direction of Kaitlyn. Sorry Britt.

“…another reveals his secret identity — opening his shirt to show his “Love Man” status.” – This is Jared Haibon. He wore a Superman shirt under his suit, but instead of the “S,” it was an “L,” for “Love Man.” Yes, I know. Ridiculously corny.

“A fitness trainer, arriving with a bunch of helium-filled balloons, proceeds to give a high-pitched compliment to both ladies.” – Already gave you this one, but in case you forgot, this is Justin Reich.

“a cupcake car, a hot tub car, lap dances for both Bachelorettes.” – Cupcake car (Chris Strandburg), hot tub car (Shawn Evans), lap dances (Josh Seiter).

“And to add to the tension, one bachelor causes chaos on his own having had a few too many. He pulls such a disrespectful move that the other bachelors take him on, and Chris needs to intervene for the first shocker of the season.” This is Ryan McDill, Nikki’s ex-boyfriend. He gets completely hammered on the first night, takes off all his clothes down to his underwear, and jumps in the pool for a late night swim. He also apparently grabbed Kaitlyn’s ass at one point and was basically saying whatever the hell he felt like being completely belligerent. Not to mention as they teased in the preview, he and Shawn Evans got into it with each other. Ryan ended up voting while in his underwear, and then was told to leave. So he got to vote on who he wanted between Kaitlyn and Britt (wet and in his underwear), but was sent home shortly after that. So count him as one of your numerous guys this season who got eliminated before the rose ceremony. Apparently he was an absolute sh** show and will be the story of the first night. Needless to say, Ryan was the answer to my teaser a couple weeks ago of, “Who made an ass of himself early on?”

All the dates they talk about in the press release have basically all been spoiled already, so nothing new there. A few of the dates like the Met date, the Christ Church Cathedral, and the Blarney Stone date will all be revealed later. To say this season will be a little bit different is an understatement. Things were NOT done per the norm, especially when it came to hometowns. I will explain later. Obviously I want to have everything right for you before I post it, so when I have everything confirmed, I will lay it out for you. Producers have done a much better job of keeping things less public once they whittled down the guys – but not good enough. Let me just say that there is A LOT of misinformation floating around about this season. I will straighten everything out for you hopefully before the season starts. If not, I at least have the first 7 episodes of spoilers to hold you over until I find everything out, which I’ll definitely release before the season, regardless of if I get the ending before then. So just be patient.

I’m assuming the guys’ bios will be released either today or tomorrow, then if not, will be next week. Please be next week. With me leaving tomorrow, I don’t want to have to write the guys’ bio column while out of town. That one takes a while to go through 25 bios and cut and paste all their weird answers. C’mon ABC. Do me a solid and wait til next week.

So for all of you who are coming here for spoilers several sites are reporting this – The Bachelorette season 11 spoilers have revealed Kaitlyn Bristowe’s final three guys: Ben Higgins, Shawn Booth, and Nick Viall.

The only site I saw “reporting” that was Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

What other media site says those are the final 3?

Hollywood Take claims the final six are Nick Viall, Ben Higgins, Shawn Booth, Chris Strandburg, Jaired Habon, and Joe Bailey. Can’t believe I’m taking the time to search this…

Chris was sure choked up about leaving DWTS. I finally had time to watch the double eliminations. I noticed, it seemed a little odd, that when he was thanking, he only thanked no-h Witney. Just, in situations like that you usually hear people thank their SO “for putting up with my long hours” or “her boundless encouragement, believing I could do it” or something like that. He seems more DISengaged from Whitney than engaged.

Wow there goes my theory of Ryan McDill(Nikki’s ex) being the next bachelor for that behavior.

Wowza on the names if it’s for real. It’ll be interesting to see if Steve claims the same guys.

Countdown to the Whitney and Chris breakup announcement. I’m sure they have “the utmost respect for each other.”

So disappointed to see all the sub optimal spoiler sites claiming Nick makes it to the final three.

That is of course unless Katlyn does the deed and sends him packing just to show him once again that having sex doesn’t mean you’re bound for marriage.

Either way, I’m not writing anything in stone until Steve says it’s so.

Nick Vile in the top 3? Kaitlin has to have better options than that. Dude’s not even attractive.

Any bets on Soules being flown back to LA for not only the Premier of the new season the Bachelorette, but also gets couch time with whatshisface like Andi did crying over a break up? Actually he should have stuck with Kaitlyn. They could have opened up a dance studio together! But then I think it’s funny he didn’t pick Becca, yet has spent more time in CA then in Iowa in the last year so potentially that could have worked out ’cause Becca would have had more time before actually learning how to feed the pigs.

I don’t believe any of the spoilers written on those other sites nor will I even click on them. They do not get the info Steve does- period.
