Yesterday was three weeks away from the premiere of the “Bachelorette” on May 23rd. So we’re going to start seeing more promos, the bios should be released any day now, the first episode will be released online to the media shortly (which I will spoil for you), and yesterday they came out with their season overview press release, something they do every season. Disney isn’t allowing me to link to the press release, so I’ll just cut and paste the whole thing in today’s column so you can read it. Not sure why the media site isn’t allowing it, but it’s annoying. Usually it just had its own URL in the past. The press release spoils some dates and locations, but doesn’t give particulars about anything. A lot of the things in the press release you already know about if you’ve followed this site the last two months: the “sex talk” group date, the fireman group date, the ESPN SportsNation group date, the football group date in Nemacolin, the Dan + Shay 1-on-1, Uruguay, Argentina, etc. There are some things in there that I haven’t mentioned yet, which I’ll give you now. Some I’ll just leave for the episode-by-episode spoilers. Also, I’ll answer some of the teasers I gave last week and give you an update on one of JoJo’s guys.

So here is the full press release (http://www.disneyabcpress.com/abc/shows/the-bachelorette/press-releases/):

JoJo Fletcher Begins Her Search for Prince Charming on the Season Premiere of ABC’s ‘The Bachelorette,’ Monday, May 23

FAN FAVORITE AND SOUTHERN SWEETHEART JOJO FLETCHER BEGINS THE SEARCH FOR HER PRINCE CHARMING ON ABC’S HIT ROMANCE REALITY SERIES ‘THE BACHELORETTE,’ PREMIERING FOR ITS 12TH SEASON, MONDAY, MAY 23, ON ABC

Former Bachelorettes Kaitlyn Bristowe, Desiree Hartsock Siegfried and Ali Fedotowsky Offer Their Support and Advice
This Season’s Highlights Include Performances by R&B Chartbusters All-4-One and Popular Country Singers Dan + Shay, Appearances by ESPN’s ‘SportsNation’ Hosts
Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley and Romantic Excursions to Uruguay and Argentina

Successful and stunning real estate developer JoJo Fletcher, 25, gets a second chance at her happily-ever-after, choosing from twenty-six handsome bachelors. After being devastated last season by a shocking rejection from Bachelor Ben Higgins, who confessed his love to both her and Lauren Bushnell, the Texan beauty is ready to leave that heartbreak behind and write her very own love story as the Bachelorette. JoJo will embark on her own journey to find her soul mate when she stars in the 12th edition of ABC’s hit romance reality series, “The Bachelorette,” which will premiere at a special time MONDAY, MAY 23 (9:01–11:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network.

Editors’ note: “The Bachelorette” will return to its regular time slot on Monday, May 30 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT).

In “Episode 1201,” a long, exciting night awaits JoJo, but first, a trio of former Bachelorettes: Kaitlyn Bristowe, Desiree Hartsock Siegfried and Ali Fedotowsky, return to offer some practical advice on how Jo Jo should handle the jitters, drama and emotional pitfalls as she searches for her future husband. They warn her that there is a big difference between red hot chemistry and love. A nervous but beaming Bachelorette is blown away by the lengths some of the bachelors go to create a memorable first meeting. One southern gentleman uses his guitar to charm JoJo with a song he wrote for her. A DJ brings a classic R&B group, All-4-One, to serenade her. One shy man shows off his Scottish heritage – and legs – by wearing a kilt. But one bachelor really stands out by riding in on a unicorn, harkening back to JoJo’s own entrance on “The Bachelor.”

The men continue to try and dazzle the Bachelorette during their one-on-one time. One bachelor steals her away and attempts to wow her with some push-ups. Some guys are so overwhelmed that they get off to an awkward start: One man asks for a kiss too soon and another has such an immediate attraction to Jojo, it leads to the first kiss of the season. The pressure mounts as Chris Harrison brings out the first impression rose, leading to some drunken antics by three inebriated men. JoJo wonders if some of these guys are here to meet her or just party. However, she does find a bachelor who deserves the first impression rose and he accepts it quite happily as his jealous contemporaries look on.

But it wouldn’t be a first rose ceremony without a surprise. An unexpected visitor from the past arrives and pulls the shocked Bachelorette aside, as the other men wonder if they have new competition for JoJo’s heart. After the night is over, 20 men remain to try and become the love of JoJo’s life.
A list of bachelors will be released at a later date.

Romantic and adventurous dates will reach new heights this season, testing the men’s perseverance in pursuing their romantic objective, along with fun, exciting and exotic dates that will elicit real and raw passions. An action-packed schedule in California begins with an escapade that takes JoJo and 10 lucky men to a firefighting training facility where they are put through boot camp-like challenges. Another exploit will find one suitor joining the Bachelorette in San Francisco for a romantic picnic by the Golden Gate Bridge. Six excited bachelors are invited to the set of ESPN’s popular “SportsNation,” where hosts Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley promise to help JoJo find the perfect guy. In one of the wildest group dates, 12 unsuspecting guys are asked to share their sexual experiences in front of JoJo and a live audience. The remaining men travel to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where one fortunate man gets an unusual date with JoJo, sledding through the woods to a hot tub and then being entertained by country music duo Dan + Shay. A group of men enjoy a dream date at Pittsburgh’s famed Heinz Field for a day of football with some familiar faces.

An excited Bachelorette and her remaining suitors travel to Punta del Este, Uruguay, to begin the international leg of their journey. JoJo whisks one bachelor to Isla de Lobos, an island which is inhabited by thousands of seals, and the duo swims among them. Then it is a short jump to the beautiful and historic capitol of Argentina: Buenos Aires. JoJo and one man show off their moves in the sexy Fuerza Bruta stage production. Leaving the bustle of Buenos Aires behind, the group travels to the Argentinian countryside, including a day steeped in gaucho culture. However, the Bachelorette will need to make some of her most important decisions before traveling back to the U.S. for hometown dates. Finally, JoJo and the last three men head to a secret exotic location where she will find out what the future holds for her.

As in the past, men will continue to be eliminated each week, but if at any point a man should decide that he’s no longer interested in the Bachelorette, he can reject her invitation to continue dating. Some lucky men will meet her family, and she will visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the man with whom she is most compatible.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, Elan Gale, Bennett Graebner, Peter J. Scalettar and Nicole Woods are the executive producers. “The Bachelorette” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 stereo surround sound. A parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.

As for the press release, lets break down a few of the things in there that I can now fill-in-the-blank for you:

“A DJ brings a classic R&B group, All-4-One, to serenade her…”Wells Adams
“One Southern gentleman uses his guitar to charm JoJo with a song he wrote for her…”James Taylor
“One Bachelor really stands out by riding in on a unicorn…”Luke Pell

One of my teasers last week was “There is somebody who appears that you will recognize…”, and this was brought up in the press release where it says “An unexpected visitor from the past arrives and pulls the shocked Bachelorette aside, as the other men wonder if they have new competition for JoJo’s heart…”. I’m sure they want you to believe that it was her ex-Chad, or maybe even Nick Viall for a third season in a row. It wasn’t. It was none other than…Jake Pavelka. And no, he wasn’t on the show competing for JoJo, although I’m sure they’ll make it seem like the guys thought he was. Jake has known JoJo and her family for years, so basically it was just a stunt to pull off to freak out the guys, but Jake does not compete for JoJo. He’s just there to lend advice.

As for a couple more answers to the teasers I gave last week, I’ve filled in a couple for you:

-Someone comes in riding a motorcycle – Christian Bishop
-Someone arrives in a Santa Claus suit
-One guy comes in getting introduced by a group of other people – Wells Adams
-Two guys on the season have somewhat of a “history” together
-There is somebody who appears that you will recognize – Jake Pavelka
-Someone jumps in the pool on the first night
-One guy “makes it snow” during a cocktail party
-A date this season is unlike any other one we’ve seen before. Well, we’ve seen it, just not done this particular way. The date I’m referring to is the 2-on-1. There’s two this season, but the first one is a liiiiitle bit different than what we’ve seen in the past.

And then here’s a guess you can make on something. ONE of the following statements is true. The rest aren’t.

A) A guy refers to JoJo as “naggy”
B) Someone very drunk ends up shoving a producer
C) One guy tells JoJo he thought Caila was gonna be the “Bachelorette”
D) A guy accepts a rose, then changes his mind
E) JoJo tells one of the guys to “get the hell out of here”

I’ve gotten a couple guesses on this one. I’ll eliminate one of the answers. It’s NOT “B.”

Also, wanted to update you on the cast list so far. You can eliminate another guy from the JoJo’s Guys link at the top of the page. In the initial release of guys I had back in March, Chad Thedford was part of that list. The real estate agent from Texas that I pointed out was friends with JoJo on Facebook. Well, apparently that was the “excuse” they used for not casting him. He was in LA ready to be on the show, but was let go right before filming started due to the fact it got out he was FB friends with JoJo. This show uses a whole bunch of excuses as to why they’ll bring someone out, tell them they’re on the show, then cut them last minute. Apparently that was the reason he was given. Whether or not they really meant that? Who knows. Hell, they let Nick on the show last season and he was having full blown sext conversations with Kaitlyn before her season. So yeah, kinda hard to believe that Chad was booted because he was a Facebook friend of JoJo’s. I just think Chad was just a guy they had as an alternate, and they decided to use that as the excuse to send him home.

So there are 17 guys I have released so far, and there were 26 to start the season. I’ve got about 5 or 6 more that I know for sure, so I’m only missing a couple. I’ll release the ones I know this week. I’m hastily still putting together their bios, and since all of them are guys who didn’t even make final four, I’m debating how much effort to put in to their bios. I might just put their name, city, any social media, and pictures. The ABC bios will be out any day now, so that’s really all you need at this point. Those will be posted tomorrow or Thursday.

No “Daily Links” today, but one final thing to add. Yesterday I had the 3 quick “frankenbiting” promos that UnREAL had for season two. Well, they released their first full trailer for the season yesterday afternoon as well. You can see the full :30 trailer by clicking here.

“We don’t solve problems, we point cameras at them.” Not sure why the “Bachelor” doesn’t use that as their show slogan. Genius.
