It’s finally here! After hours and hours of getting this ready for the past week (hence the reason “Daily Links” was sporadic), the first Reality Steve Podcast is available to download. Since it is my first podcast, apparently (as I’m learning more and more), it takes a few days for your first podcast to get approved by outlets like Itunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Soundcloud, etc. So it should be available on those platforms sometime in the next week. For the time being, you can listen to it in the player embedded in the paragraph below. I plan on doing maybe 2 or 3 more podcasts before Nick’s season starts on Jan. 2nd. Once the season starts up, podcasts will be posted on Thursdays after “Dr. Reality Steve” goes up. I’m guessing I’ll also have maybe 1 or 2 bonus podcasts a month on things I want to talk about. For those worried, the column isn’t going anywhere. Once the “Bachelor” starts back up, it’s still recaps on Tuesdays, “Reader Emails” on Wednesday, and “Dr. Reality Steve” on Thursdays. I just know that more and more people are consuming their information off podcasts now, and with my radio background, this is something I’ve always wanted to do. And now it’s finally here. In addition, having just begun this process, we are always looking out for sponsors to advertise on the podcast. Anyone interested in being the title sponsor or have an ad read during the podcast, my email address is at the bottom of the column.
I will say that I do have my podcast labeled “E” for explicit because I know at times in future podcasts, I won’t hold back here and there on my language. So rather than worry about each individual one and remembering if I cursed or not, they’re all going to be labeled “E” for explicit. It’s not like I’m going to be the serial curse monster in these podcasts, but I do want to have the freedom to drop a few “s” and “f” bombs on occasion. As for this first podcast, there’s no cursing. Same goes for spoilers. Every episode will have a (SPOILERS) in the description, but it doesn’t necessarily mean every episode will have spoiler related material in it. This first one really doesn’t have any, but I need to cover myself for people who may not want to be spoiled. If there is an episode I do that I absolutely know for a fact there are no spoilers referenced, I’ll say (SPOILER FREE), but that’ll be few and far between.
For my initial podcast, I just wanted to re-introduce myself to you guys and kinda go over the history of the spoilers that I’ve done. So of you may know all this like the back of your hand, and some may not. But being my first podcast, wanted to talk a little about myself, my background, how this all came to be, etc. Hopefully you’ll take the time to listen as these podcasts will now become a fixture on the site. Enjoy…
In my first podcast I talk about my upbringing, my time time working on the Jim Rome Show (6:40), my move to local LA sports talk (13:10), how “Reality Steve” came to be (17:30), my first spoiler on Jason Mesnick’s season (21:45), and my track record of spoilers since then (25:40).
