Cityslicker and Ksam: I'm definitely not a member of the grammar police. I thought it was clear that I represent the Logic Sheriff's Office. Also, since my post was written in English, I can't believe anyone REALLY doesn't know what I'm talking about. You all seem highly literate on this board.

I simply think that if the Bachelorette is going to be this insulting to us, we have not just the right but the sacred duty to demand that it at least make sense. Which it doesn't, as Reality Steve pointed out at the beginning of his blessedly short column. This latest episode of "Let's play Sex" is just awful, and I was having some fun. BUT, I do get tired of people saying "that begs the question" when what they mean is "that raises the question."

Did I miss anything? Lemme go back and reread your posts.

Okay. I did miss one: I always use prepositions to end sentences with.

i thought it was telling [in the pre-show] that jeremy said his dog is his best friend. he doesn't have any buddies? sad. i wouldn't get on jeremy for what his condo looks like...he's 27 and living in dallas. that's what condo's/apt look like.

also, when i was 27 i don't think i had a relationship that lasted more than 5 months. so, i don't think graham is that out of touch. maybe he gets out [of the relationship] when he senses it's not going to work out in the long run.

the up close and personal on sean was gagging. boastful re how house, car, clothes, physical appearance... and the funny thing is...he's just mediocre looking in every way. how much debt do you think he's in? how much money does a karate teacher make? sheesh.

FORESTPAL...What the heck are you talking about? (Yes, I did end my sentence with a preposition.) Are you sure you are on the right message board? I think maybe you've been studying too much.

Pubivy all the way!

DeAnna should chose Graham. It would be the best 4 weeks of her life :)

Thanks for another great recap. I hope Brad does get in touch with you. He's probably the only past person I'd want to hear from.

Oh. There's more from Yale.

Someone speaking of law school improperly used the term "Begging the Question." Most people make the mistake, so I wouldn't sweat it, but for those who are interested, in formal logic, where the term comes from, the meaning of "begging the question" is "improperly assuming as true the very argument you are trying to prove or assert." An example would be, say, "Cornell is useless because it is trash." That's bad logic. One shouldn't try to prove a point by assuming it to be true. In the case of the bachelorettes, something like "Jen sucks because she's a lousy bachelorette" would be begging the question.

Thanks for your time.

I'm laughing. I just watched the trailer for THE INCREDIBLE HULK and then came directly here. So, cognitive transference didn't happen quickly enough, and I kept seeing Deana or whatever she calls herself as the Hulk.

Anyway, the real reason I'm laughing is your phrase "always never interesting." I've never seen that construction before and it's great. I think, if I had to label it because the firing squad said so, I'd call it double-absolutes cancelling each other out." But that, of course, does not come with the sanction of the Yale Mafia. I just thought it up. Most of the Yale Mafia doesn't watch THE BACHELORETTE, to protest the fact that they've never had an Ivy League anything -- you know, like "The Bachelor Goes to Yale" or "Dartmouth Parties with the Bachelorette, making punch in her used Black Trash Bags."

S'true. Dartmouth is like that. And, now that I think of it, so it THE BACHELORETTE.

The only reason I'm watching this incredibly boring, dopey show is so I will know what you are talking about in your hysterical review. This show is like a car wreck - you can't help but stop and look when it's on. If I were her - I would ask for my marbles back and go home still a "bachlorette". I honestly can't see her having a lasting relationship with any of them. God - what a waste of good airtime. P.S. Your Maddie comments are the best. I say Maddie should be the next Bachlorette - can't get any worse than this season!!!
