Where is the Love?

Sorry it took me a couple days to post this. Here is a 2 minute clip from the interview Jason Mesnick did Friday morning on a Seattle radio station where he has Reality Steve on the mind:
Let’s dissect some of the things that Jason says here, since the guy is contradicting himself all over the place.
“That guy heard a rumor…that I ended things with Melissa and started up with Molly.” Uhhhh, last time I checked pal, that wasn’t a rumor, it was fact. And I never reported it as “Hey, speculation is”, or, “Hey, maybe this happens”. From day one, I told everyone this isn’t what I thought happens, it’s what I know happens. So, it wasn’t a rumor, nor did I ever report it as one.
“I don’t even wanna mention his name, he’s got this reality website. I don’t even think anyone should ever even talk about this guy.” Sooooooo then why are you talking about me still three months after the fact when I basically had forgotten about you and Molly since about a week after the season ended? March 9th was really the last mention I made to your name in my column, yet here you were on June 19th bringing me up in a radio station interview promoting a Fathers Day event. I’m glad you have me on the brain. Is this a man crush?
“But, he made up the whole story in between, so everything he says is a flat out lie. He had the bookend right, but made up the whole story in between.” Well, apparently not since the main story I reported last season before anyone else, that you dumped Melissa at a taped ATFR show and asked Molly back, was true. So yet again, another inaccurate statement. Not everything I say is a flat out lie. In fact, most of it is true. And this season, when I told people last week that Ed does come back on the show, that’ll turn out to be true as well. As for making up the stuff in between, that will always be up for debate. I know I didn’t. You think I did. Then again, you’re under contract and not allowed to talk about certain things, so it’ll take a hell of a lot convincing on your part to turn the people who believed what I said.
“So I will tell anybody out there if they know who this guy is, he’s a bunch of BS. And I can promise that everything he says on his website is all his own stories. He’s a storyteller.” Wait, I’M a bunch of BS, or what I write is a bunch of BS? Please be more clear. And EVERYTHING that I say on my website is my own stories? Except for the little minor detail of finding out about the secret ATFR show you taped six weeks prior to the finale airing. And lets not forget, posting what happened at the ATFR 2 taping about one hour after it ended. Talk all you want about not liking some of the things I write, trust me I get that all the time, but don’t say I was factually inaccurate and a “storyteller”. Not true.
“And Melissa, who lives in the same city as this guy, started believing him.” Oooooohhhhhh, ok. So now I was the one who turned Melissa against you? Even though I’ve never spoken to her in my life, never met her, and have sent her one email that she really never responded to? Yet without having ever spoken to me or had any running email conversation, I somehow was able to convince her of everything that really went on? Damn. I must be a REALLY good writer. Better than I thought. So not only are you a huge RealitySteve.com fan, but apparently Melissa is too, AND, she listens to everything I say. Outstanding.
“And I talked to her after that…well, I haven’t talked to her since this whole thing went down. She was OK, up until that point, but she started believing what this guy was saying.” So which is it? Either you talked to her after she apparently believed everything I wrote which you say was me telling story, or you didn’t? My guess? You didn’t. This guy is flip flopping like a politician.
“He’s the one specifically that started stirring stuff up. He’s a just a miserable guy. He’s just trying to get famous.” Actually, you stirred it all up when you agreed to dump Melissa during a closed set taping and ask for Molly back. All I did was report it. Miserable? I wouldn’t say that. Jaded, skeptical, and weary about anything that actually happens on this show? You bet. And saying I’m trying to get famous is ludicrous. I’ve been part of the media for a while. I’ve covered plenty of athletes and interacted with famous people on numerous occasions. I don’t want that life. Now THOSE are your miserable people. And extremely insecure. And completely crazy. So no thanks, but I’ll pass.
I think I’ve said enough. Lets put it to bed. Jason showed some true colors in this interview, and just hearing the venom in his voice towards me was rather surprising. He’s obviously still bothered by the fact that people still hate him for what he did, so he figures why not take it out on me? I find it funny. I’m just not gonna resort to name calling and blaming others for what I did. I’ve said my peace. Hope you had a wonderful Fathers Day and you and Molly live happily ever after. I won’t hold my breath.

Just for the record Steve, I think you rock. The way that you responded to Jason’s barbs was great. No tantrums. Just stated the facts to refute Jason’s rants. You have nothing to defend and are doing the right thing on how you handled this. Everyone (Jason, Chris and everyone with fuffled feathers) needs to move on. Need we say moret that you hit on the truth so much that they are STILL trying to disprove you.. Keep doing what you are doing.
another jason blog? seems to me that you have a jones for jason right back. let’s move on…
Steve, your response was awesome. The fact that people like Jason and Chris hate you so much that they can’t stop talking about you says you obviously hit a chord with them…and are very close to painting a 100% accurate picture of what went down last season. I know in the past if someone told a lie about something I did, I certainly wouldn’t be bringing up their name ever again. Honestly, the guy needed something to talk about on the radio to promote whatever it was he was promoting, and you were an easy target. No one cares about his relationship with Molly, or how great a father he is.
sally885..rude comment. Might be time for you to take a hike there sister..tsk, tsk on you.
What’s funny about Jason is that he’s obviously so insecure. I think it still really bothers him that most people thought he was a jerk for what he did to Melissa. If he really thought there was no merit to your theory he wouldn’t even feel the need to bring it up. I liked you two columns calling him out, but I agree, it is time to move on! Let us never speak of Jason Mesnick again!!!
OK, it sounds like Jason is saying that the RS column upset Melissa before they broke up and made her believe that he was going to break up with her, and that’s what led to the breakup.
I just went back and looked at old columns, and RS did not disclose the full news of the breakup and switch to Molly until weeks after the AFTR show and breakup were filmed.
Now can we get back to the present?
Just ignore Jason–he’s desperately seeking his 16th minute of fame. Don’t give him the pleasure of seeing his name in (electronic) print.
Steve- you rock. Your real fans know you are a genuine blogger and a sincere guy. I’d want to defend my name too and I totally understand why you would post these Jason blogs. What a turd he is.
…
Steve, there’s no need to defend yourself. No one believes what Jason has to say. Well, except maybe his mother and Molly.
For certain posters on here….calm yourselves….if you don’t like RS’s blogs or the way he’s writing about the current season – don’t read him. Simple plan – just dont read him. I find this all very fascinating or maybe thats because I too, am just B.S. hahaha

Wow – and to think I actually liked Jason in the beginning. I hope he realizes that the negative opinion the public has of him is not because of Steve’s columns but because of his actions. I actually don’t care whether humiliating Melissa on national TV was Jason’s idea or Fleis’s. Jason still did it and he needs to own up to it. Hopefully he’ll realize what a bitter person he’s become and concentrate on moving on and restoring his image rather than lashing out at other people. Just because we found out early what he was going to do doesn’t negate the fact that he did it.
Wow , you really must have hit a chord with him. This proves to me even more, that he is guilty.
I think you are missing the point of why he dislikes you. He basically said that you got the ending right (him dumping Melissa for a second chance with Molly), but everything else was made up, i.e. all the conspiracy stuff about it being planned. Personally, I think Jason is an idiot who deserves all the crap he’s gotten for his spectacular lapse in judgment and poor handling of the situation, but if the planning of it is not true, then some of the vitriol thrown at him is worse than he deserves and is just cruel. And yes, YOU are the one mainly responsible for that RUMOR. So I can totally see why he doesn’t like you.
Also, you say that you cannot ever PROVE that it was set up, yet you KNOW it’s the truth. So which is it Steve? How can you know 100% for sure that it was the truth if you cannot prove it? The answer is, you can’t. You can believe that was what happened, and that’s all. I know you keep saying that, that it’s just what you believe, but you still state it as if it was fact.
It seems that you are getting a kick out of the fact that these people are paying attention to what you say. I probably would be too, but don’t pretend to be all humble and say you don’t want to be famous. I laugh every time I read that.
@Carrie
So, Carrie, are celebrities who sue tabloid magazines doing so because what they said was true? I mean, the celebs are bringing attention to it and are obviously angered enough to sue the magazine, so according to your logic, whatever they printed must be true.
OMG…I just saw the picture of Jason with you in his little thought bubble. LMAO, that seriously just made my day!
@mja
I don’t think that was what Jason was saying, because there was nothing to report until AFTER he and Melissa broke up. Not possible for Steve to have a column reporting something that didn’t happen yet. Unless he’s got some time traveling capabilities we don’t know about. He was saying that Melissa started to believe the conspiracy part.
100% accurate or not – I don’t care. Most of us just want to be entertained and that’s exactly what you do Steve. Keep it up. Jason ruined his credibility months back. No finger pointing will stop him from going down as one of reality tv’s most notorious skeezballs. The smartest thing he could do is keep his mouth shut for a while.
@sparkly take it down a notch will ya…let Jason defend himself.. you don’t need to.
RS love you and love your columns…and the fact that it’s for entertainment value ONLY!!! Whether I believe your or not it’s still pretty funny when I read it. That pic of Jason with your t-shirt and the RS bubble is priceless….
But I’ll be honest, I’m tired of the guy…can we move on PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I don’t think RS is missing the point at all. RS cannot prove it because that would mean outing his source, which he won’t do. We all know this, at least those of us who have been following him for a while.
Gotta love these people who continue to come here and claim they hate Jason but defend him to the grave.
this is stinkin funny! i love how jason was stumbling all over his words while trying to get in his 2 cents about you, which had nothing to do with anything.
RS – while I’m a firm believer in defending oneself, you’re only giving Jason more attention than he deserves. I’m willing to bet that more people read your blog than those who were listening to that Seattle broadcast during some obscure hour. There’s a message board saying, “don’t feed the trolls”; Jason is definitely a troll that needs to go back under the evergreen point bridge. I’ll give him this though, he’s got a little more balls for actually referencing you as a “guy with a website” in comparison to Chris Harrison frolicking around in his fancy Nordstroms shirts. Both have major hard-ons for you though.
As for Jason attempting to “call out” RS, I’ve been following RS since January and I’ll definitely take his word over Jason Mesnick anyday. RS is all about exposing the truth behind reality TV and has been extremely beneficial in teaching his readers not to become emotionally invested in this crap. It’s all staged and manipulated by the producers and their life-binding contracts. The show has definitely become more entertaining.
PS – that picture is awesome. You should forward it to his email address.
So Jason believes you are a jerk … well, you can be a jerk. Big deal.
But hey, the joke’s on Jason, right? He just gave you an opportunity to write about it — a vehicle to drive traffic to your site … necessary, I suppose, given your latest scoop discredited within hours.
Question: Is photoshopping a RS t-shirt onto Jason’s stock photo an indication that store sales haven’t been what you had hoped they would be?
What a GREAT response! MESSnick is clearly not over going from the chosen one to Bachelor pariah in a heartbeat, so he does what he does best when pushed against a wall- LIE. I have to point out though, you left out two of my favorite parts..first, Jason couldn’t stop stuttering the entire clip, a sure sign of lying if I’ve ever heard one, second, he actually said when they asked Melissa to be the Bachelorette that she CALLED HIM to ask for advice!!! Umm does this fool believe his own lies? I really think he does, it’s the only explanation that makes sense other than mental illness. I forgot about him for the last few months but this just makes me dislike him all over again! He is essentially blaming you for being hated by anyone with common sense. Boo Hoo worm! Last thought, this is really just my own picky issue, WHY does he constantly refer to his “girlfriend” as “Moll”? We get it, you two are sooo comfortable and happy (barf)..I don’t find him sincere (or likeable) in the least!
In the words of Shakespeare.. me thinks he doth protest too much. We all know that Jason is full of it and is still trying to convince himself because we all know the truth. He knows it, too, but if he says it enough his little mind will think it is the truth. No one has any respect for him and these comments surely will not help his case.
P.S. I am no expert on acting, but Molly looked faked surprised on the AFTR. She could have done a better job of pretending she did not know. Love the picture!
@gingercat
I have been following RS for a while now, too, and to my knowledge, he has specifically stated that he cannot prove it was a set up – not that he COULD prove it but at the cost of outing a source. He received certain information from one or more sources that turned out to be accurate (the dumping of Melissa on TV) and is choosing to believe the rest of the information from these sources. Fine. But I don’t believe he has any actual proof other than the word of his sources. Steve, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
I happen to not believe the conspiracy part, so I don’t see what is wrong with defending Jason on that one point. Just because someone is an ass does not mean that whatever crap that is said about him/her is necessarily true.
I shake my head sometimes at the commenters on here who seem to take everything Steve says as gospel and then post a bunch of stuff about how much of a liar Jason is, blah, blah, blah, with this holier-than-thou attitude, because they just KNOW what really happened. Like post #23. And #24. It’s ridiculous. Then again, I don’t come to this site for any sort of insight.
The guy needs to think about timelines before he opens his mouth. Impossible to blame RS. He broke it off with Melissa LONG before RS posted a thing about the break up. Not a chance in hell that Melissa was calling him asking him for advice. First the “apology tour” and now the “Melissa has a great gig and I have nothing so I am going to blame the world for my miserable life” tour. Get a job Jason and start acting like a real man.
I believe Sparkly and Molly/Jason to be one in the same, my “sources” told me this to be true. Why have you been “following rs for a while now” if you heavily dispute everything he says? I don’t understand the need to comment over and over if you “don’t come to this site for any sort of insight”. Something has you returning for more. Maybe you come here just to ignite arguments with total strangers? Fun! I was expressing an opinion, just as you have been doing time and again. I don’t even think it can be called a “conspiracy” because what happened isn’t all that far fetched. I believe what rs says to be true and if you don’t so be it….is it really worth your time to call people out just to make your own point seem valid? It’s only an opinion, nobody is going to take your word as gospel just as I don’t take Steve’s word as gospel (I have a mind of my own but thank you for assuming I blindly listen to anything thrown at me, when did we become best friends?). In closing, take a deep breathe and relax.. If you don’t like rs, quit reading his stuff.
Great job, Steve! I love the picture of Dudley with your t-shirt! Poor Dudley..it is tough being a dud…you have to blame others for your dudliness.
Jason is now tweeting about RS and admiring the tshirts RS is selling. I’m believe Molly might have some competition.
@MJM
I think the biggest mistake of his life- after dumping Melissa in National TV of course- is talking about RS.
I saw that too… Someone else told him to read this blog… hahaha! RS I loVVVe the picture and now I feel sorry for him haha!
ohh Jeez……u r such a laugh riot. that pic is greatt…would’ve prefered ur pic to be “bigger” than his coz it looks like he has a major hard on for u.
u rock RS
Sparkly, we’re free to believe whatever the HELL we want. So don’t come here lecturing us, and telling us you know better. Again, stop pretending like you hate J-ass-on. Just because he’s an ass doesn’t make the rumours true? JUST BECAUSE WE BELIEVE RS DOES NOT MEAN WE THINK HIS WORD IS THE GOSPEL.
Sparkly, re-read what you wrote. You said “I don’t believe he has any actual proof other than the word of his sources?” What kind of proof do you want? A pdf file of the actual contracts stating this all? Even then, you’d probably say, “prove it wasn’t photoshopped”. RS covered this last season(you should know, you’ve been following RS for some time, right?), even if he OUTS his source, people will start asking, “how do you know what his source says is true?”.
Seriously, the only truth you’d believe is if God himself came down and told you.
Vivi = Molly
Sparkly = Jason
@bbs165
My bad, I forgot the comments were only for people who agreed with what Steve says and want to give him a virtual pat on the back. No debate or discussions allowed. I’m curious, is everyone who disagrees with anyone on here automatically accused of being Jason and/or Molly?
Yes, I read RS’s blog. I happen to like reading the recaps of the show – I think they are funny. Does that mean I agree with everything he says? No. I’m not one of those people who only seek out information that confirms what I already believe. And my personal feelings about RS are irrelevant.
As much as you are trying to paint me as some mean-spirited person who feels the “need to comment over and over” and likes to start arguments with total strangers, this is actually only the second post I’ve ever commented on. I usually just ignore the comments for reasons I’ve already explained. Today, I don’t know, I just felt like calling some people out on their crap. You are right, though, it’s not worth my time. But today it was fun.
In closing, just because something doesn’t seem far-fetched does not preclude it from being a conspiracy.
Jason is old news. Ignore him and focus on this season instead please.
Sparkly, you started it by accusing us that because we believe what RS says, we believe its the word of the gospel. Excuse us for not agreeing with you either. Now you’re saying you feel the need to call us out on our “crap”. Again, we don’t agree with you, so our posts are now crap?
I don’t always agree with RS, some things Ive found offensive, but most of us were having a good time reading his posts, and commenting on what we think. And here we are having our challenges called crap and other unnecessary things. Believe it or NOT, there ARE other ways you can state your opinion.
@pixargeek
Oh, you got me there! My belief that RS has no actual proof is based on what RS stated himself. I’m not calling him out on anything there. If he has actual proof, then there is no argument here. Now, since you mentioned it, I most likely WOULD believe the accusations were true if some physical evidence, like yes, a PDF, were to surface. Let me ask you this, smarty pants, what evidence would have to be unearthed to convince you that it WASN’T a setup?
And if some bearded guy in the sky came down and told me what to believe, that would be fucking AMAZING, considering I don’t believe in god. Seriously, folks, I’m off to go do something more productive now. Bye!

Hi Steve! The reason I finally registered and am writing is to ask you to ask Jillian during her media call just WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH HER????? I can NOT believe that she rejected Jake. Other than that I LOVE your blog! Take care.
I’m embarrassed to say I live in the same town as this guy. I grew up in Kirkland, and he’s a typical Kirkland douche bag. He’s just jealous that his 15 minutes are up.
so, I have a suggestion for your store. How about a statuette, like an Emmy, in the likeness of Jason for awards ceremonies. I submit a list of acknowledgements this statue might be appropriate for.
Least likely to get married, Biggest jerk on TV, bigest jerk, Most commitmentphobic, Best actor in a made for TV drama.
or maybe it could be a model of the jrkz2000. the next AI male. Pull his string and he says five realistic sentences guarenteed to win any womans heart. 1. I’m looking for a mother for my child.
2. I need a friend and a lover
3. I love those shoes!
4. I love to curl up on the couch with a good book, a fine whine…I mean wine, and a beautiful woman, like you.
5. “I am man, you are woman, let’s kiss!” Sound the alarm…Stresand alert! Oh wait, maybe the shoes set it off first?
this guy is pretty popular. If he wasn’t at least partialy right, the show would have sued his pants off by now. THe guy has a source.
I agree with Realitytvism.
Jason could never sue Steve for this, because A. It’s most likely the truth, B. B, if it isnt true, RS reasonably believed it to be (aka, he had a source) C. Jason would never want all of contracts and correspondences to Molly and the Producers open to discovery.
I can imagine, Steve, that it is pretty random to wake up one day, three months later and hear that being said about you.
Me thinks Jason doth protest too much. Reality Steve, your fans support you. Jason is old news.
LOL at that picture! First the only thing I noticed was the thought bubble, then I saw the shirt. Too funny!!!! You go Steve!
Oh Molly..err..Vivi..you’re as transparent as saran-wrap. Give it up!
gee..sparkly got real productive, hahah! Post # 38 @21.33 states “I’m off to do something more productive. Post # 39 @21.38 and he’s back. Wow..5 whole mins..how productive is that!
Good point bbs165. I too was thinking that Sparkly and Molly/Jason were one and the same. LOL! Notice the use of the words Sparkle (as in how Molly’s eyes sparkle) and Amazing (well we all know who’s favorite word that is,LOL!!!).
Sparkly – I’m sorry, I didn’t realize Jason was a celebrity. How short-sided of me. I thought he was just a normal guy with a kid looking for true love that happened to take process in front of some cameras and broadcast to the public. I was just saying how I – an “average nobody” – might respond to misinformation. You mentioned celebrities suing for misinformation; has Jason filed a lawsuit yet? Under your logic it certainly sounds like he should. Maybe I should have done that a few times in my life instead of just turning the other way, not looking back, moving on and enjoying life. However, since I turned about 8 or 9 I’ve found it more self satisfying not to give the person who started the rumor the time of day. To each his/her own.
I’m just a person who thought that a “comment” section was a place to share opinions. Never realized that it could be used as a way to attack someone you don’t know through a computer. For me it’s a mental break and mini-escape from my day; it’s entertaining. That’s for flattering me with your response. Definitely entertaining.
