Interview from Last Night, plus, Some News on the “Women Tell All” & Tenley’s Ex

Here is the interview I did last night with the website JokersUpdates.com. It’s about an hour and a half long, and there were some technical difficulties here and there, but all in all, a good time. Thanks to everyone who called in a participated. I appreciate it. We’ll be doing it again soon. To listen, all you have to do is click the play button on the screen. Enjoy…

Or, try going to this link to listen in there as well: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/jokersupdates/2010/02/10/jokers-talks-with-reality-steve

A couple notes to update people on:

The “Women Tell All” taping is this weekend in LA. Ali will be there, as I’m assuming Gia will as well. However, the latest I’m hearing is that Chris Harrison is gonna get his wish, and somehow they’ve convinced Rozlyn to make an appearance. Oh boy. Just like Wes last season, I have a feeling Rozlyn is in a lose-lose situation. If she didn’t show up, people would say she’s running from the show because she’s guilty. If she is there, they are going to edit the hell out of her and in no way are they gonna let her side of the story get out. Impossible. Won’t happen. I feel bad for her because she’s walking into a lion’s den, but I guess I’ll wait to reserve judgment until after it airs. Doesn’t look good though. They are setting her up to probably look even worse than they did on the show. I guarantee they are splicing together footage right now of her “admitting” to something totally unrelated to the “physical relationship”, but they’ll make it seem like she was actually admitting there was something going on. That’s what they’re paid to do. This could get ugly.

Of course, four women have had their conference calls with the media after their exit from the show (Ashley E., Michelle, Ella, and Corrie) and all of them admitted they never saw any physical relationship between Rozlyn and Ryan. Yet Chris Harrison says it was “brazen and everyone knew about it”. ABC will spin it to continue along with their side of the story. Rozlyn should just turn the interview around on Chris and start asking him questions regarding what he knows, since he knows nothing. He’s not there 90% of the time. However, even if she does that, only the studio audience will be able to hear what she says. That taping takes a good 6-8 hours, and they give us an edited 100 minutes or so for television. No way they’re gonna let Rozlyn get the upper hand. The funny thing is, I’m actually in California this weekend. Hmmmm, maybe I’ll sneak my way into the taping. Think that’ll get all their panties in a bunch? Who knows?

    Steve, it would be great if you could get into the taping of the WTA just to dish what was really said by Rozlyn, etc.

    Mind you, that will be 8-10 hours of your life that you will never get back.

    Unless, you do a live blog feed from the taping! [lol – I’m sure they don’t allow that to happen]

    Anyway, have fun in California!

    Steve, the only reason I created an account to thank you for this wonderful and delightfully entertaining blog. You are the bomb! I wouldn’t normally watch the dreck that is “The Bachelor,” but what you write is such a howl, I have to see it for myself.

    I’m sorry Rozlyn will be on the WTA, if indeed she is. She needs to fade into the sunset and hope people forget how the show trashed her big time! Wes was soo wise not to appear and she should change her mind about an appearance!

    Still can’t believe that you are so dumb that you actually think that Ali was going to be F1 had she stayed. Don’t you think Jake would have told her to stick around (quietly, without the cameras and microphones)? How gullible are you? Can’t you see that this was all part of the drama?? Ali realized he was going to pick Vienna (or it looked pretty good that he might) and didn’t want to risk it, so she did a deal with ABC to become the Bachelorette if they’d let her skip out before being humiliated by losing to Vienna. Why would Facebook all of a sudden have NO PROBLEM giving her TONS of time off to do THE BACHELORETTE if they can’t give her another couple of weeks to complete this show? Who actually believes that a company like Facebook wouldn’t give her the time off when she is gaining all kinds of notoriety that the company can use in their advertising, with Ali being in advertising sales?? The ABC brass are laughing their heads off at you as you play right into their hands, doing their bidding and leaking info. just when they want you to. It worked perfectly for them this season, as Jake was so boring and they needed to really spice things up and create a lot of controversy; wow, did you help!! Can’t believe you bought the whole Ali fairytale, dummy!

    notice she is in a hotel room… why if she is home.. and why if she left the show did they follow her home?

    Wow, how stupid do they think we are??

    Immediately following the Rose Ceremony she’s at Le Montrose hotel a few minutes from the Wilshire.

    Sure, there’s shots of San Francisco…but there she is….. in LA still trying to act….pining over cheesy Promo pictures of Jake!! hahaha!

    I don’t think she’ll get the Oscar though.

  10. Sunnyside422

    February 11, 2010 at 5:44 AM

    Since the show is directed by the producers, Ali was told exactly what to say to him during the phone call. No acting involved…simply following her marching orders.

    Bonnie Hunt also discusses the show every Tuesday and she and some crew have a field day mocking this show and its participants especially Jake this season! Riot. And of course Eudie Tuesday does a nasty, snarky job in her blog. If Jake reads any of this stuff, he’ll need a long stint in rehab to recover his fragile ego!

    STEVE—

    Can you please let us know how they pick the people they let in on the taping of the Women Tell All? And, once picked for the taping do they get to be in there for the entire 6-8 hours while taping? If so, it would be worth the wait to talk to some of these people as they are leaving taping. Is this possible?

    Thansks and sorry if this has been addressed before…just curious.

    did anyone pick up on when Jake told the remaining 3 nit wits that there wasn’t going to be a final rose they all just beamed! No…”what happened to Ali”? They were just glad someone one was gone and it was n’t them! Poor Gia she really is clueless. I think she believes that acting all sex kittenish will help her. Its not..she’s a flake. I did love the music they played for Veinna Sausage’s home town visit. It would have been perfect if she was wearing cut off jeans and a tube top.

    Geez Elodie, who cares if Ali was free publicity for Facebook? It’s a reality tv show. Calm down. Whether Jake would’ve kept Ali or not or become the next Bachelorette, it is no big deal.

    Besides, Reality Steve said she probably would’ve been the F1. It’s not like marriage is in the works if she won the show.

    As for what Tenley’s ex husband’s fiance says about her, it is not suprising considering she is the other woman. So I would take it with a grain of salt.

  23. Carrythe0

    February 11, 2010 at 12:22 PM

    I appreciate the comments from @elodie because they are consistently far more intelligent and analytical that the usual RS fellating that goes on here. Try getting past the vitriol for RS and consider his/her points. Specifically, if you’re on board with RS’s usual mantra (“this show is so fake”), isn’t it more likely that both Ali AND Jake are just in it for the publicity and staging the whole thing? (answer: yes, which is why it’s disheartening to see RS decry the situation as “real”.)

    She works for FACEBOOK, people. In advertising no less. She is getting sick exposure and she sells ads on the largest internet site which also happens to target the same demographic as Bach/ette. They would not make her leave the show. They WOULD be on board with a plan that exposes her to even more people – by becoming the Bachelorette.

    If RS is right and Ali doesn’t return, she is a lock for B’ette. If she does return, it will be with a story that paints FB in a good light, i.e. they realized she was in love and let her return to the show. Yay Facebook! Then, she either wins and gets more publicity, or loses and becomes B’ette and gets more publicity.

    I hope she does come back and ruins RS’s credibility as a parrot for some ABC scab. Then he can get back to being judged for his actual writing.

    Steve, love the blog. I am officially addicted! Meanwhile, I thought I’d pass on some scoop about Bachelor #1, Alex. He’s getting married soon … bachelor party in Vegas the weekend before your Venetian adventure. Too bad your timing is off by a week.

    Anyway, keep the good scoop coming….

  25. Carrythe0

    February 11, 2010 at 12:48 PM

    @elodie
    If the deal is done for Ali to be B’ette, what is the advantage to her to come back to Jake’s show? I agree with you that she bailed to prevent losing to Vienna. If she got B’ette out of it, there would be no reason for her to come back.

    Strangely (or maybe not strangely, I’ve only watched one season of each show), due to her edit the bulk of the commentary on her is negative. If the deal was done while the show was filming, ABC would be trying to make her America’s Sweetheart. I wonder if they tried to paint a picture of her as honest and capable of standing up for herself, and it did not come across that way. People think she’s a harpie!

    Clearly it is far more entertaining to speculate on the real motives of these “real” people, than it is to watch the show.

    Steve: I only watch the dribble show called “The Bachelor” as a muse to see stupid gals get on a show to fight for a slimy cheesball in Jake. Really funny. Best part is to read your Blog. Now that is entertainment!

    Question: I read all you had to say about Rozlyn. Why do you think the producers axed her, really?

  27. mv0934

    February 11, 2010 at 1:52 PM

    One thing that just came to mind considering her job at Facebook..Facebook said that Ali had ran out of her allocated vacation time and was face with the decision to quit or come back to work. If she does go on the Bachelorette, she will have to take a lot more time off to do the show than her time on the Bachelor.

    Facebook is free, and there are tons of people on it everyday. They don’t make their money from people joining Facebook. Their revenue comes from serving advertisers. So I don’t know what kind of publicity they would need with Ali getting tv exposure.

  28. Jenn210

    February 11, 2010 at 1:59 PM

    At no point during this show have they EVER mentioned on air that Ali works for Facebook. What press are they getting out of the Bachelor? Really?? Come on now. Also, if you have ever bought ads on FB it is all electronic, you dont need to speak with a rep. What publicity do people thing Facebook is getting out of this by having Ali stay? NONE. And seriously, they don’t need Ali. THey were doing fine and making a gazillion dollars LONG before Ali went on the Bachelor. It boils down to in this age of Reality TV when production companies do not have to assume the burden of paying cast members $1 million per episode (a la Friends) that they can save all this money by having people come on for free so they can waste their money on stupid dates and dumb bands like Chicago. I think all Facebook was saying is “hey Ali, you aren’t Angelina Jolie, you are nobody, so you can take your 2 weeks vacation just like our other thousands of employees then you need to get your butt back to work…or else.”

    And yeah Steve…uh hello! You have a hundreds of thousands of people reading your blog each week, see if someone can scam you a ticket to the WTA. Great idea from the previous poster.

    funny, i’d say you might be missing a few brain cells because you obviously didn’t listen to the same radio blog i just heard nor read any of his posts to date. Suggest you go back and reread so that maybe your next post will actually contribute to the content posted to date. For example RS talks about Facebook and why Ali might not want to give up her job for a 1 in 4 chance with Jake but coming back to the the Bachelorette with 25 options might be a different story, duh…better odds! I have no problem with you disagreeing with RS, but if you’re going to do it at least be factual in your “issues”. How gullible are you to think that everything ABC puts in your face is the gospel.

    That is why I like Steve. He is the REALITY behind this <> show.

  39. fairygirl

    February 11, 2010 at 9:06 PM

    @Carrythe0
    Let’s state this quite logically….The Bachelor has NEVER stated that Ali works for Facebook. We, the people who happen to be spoiled (know what happens), know that she works for Facebook. But most of the millions of people watching this show have absolutely ZERO idea that Ali works for Facebook. Why? Because the show has never mentioned it.

    The second point to make is that RS and many others have referenced the fact that these contestants aren’t allowed to tell their work that they are going on The Bachelor(ette). Ali didn’t get to tell Facebook, “Hey, I’m going on a reality show and millions of people are going to be watching me and knowing that I work for you, so if you want the free publicity, you should really allow me time off to pursue this.” She had to come up with some excuse/reason for her absence, ask for time off, and hope for the best.

    At this point, Facebook now knows that she was on the Bachelor, and maybe would be on board with her becoming the B-ette if the show somehow agreed to let it be known that she worked for Facebook. But seriously, how often do we get to know that about a person? They didn’t tell us what airline Jake worked for, or the fact that he owned a limo company. They didn’t tell us who Jillian or Jason worked for. Why would we think that they are going to give Facebook a free plug on the show?

    @mv0934
    Jenn wasn’t stating that Ali didn’t work at Facebook, but merely the fact that the show hasn’t told us that she works at Facebook…which it hasn’t.

    @abi54
    As opposed to one of the other incredibly fake contestants on this game show?

  40. Carrythe0

    February 12, 2010 at 10:30 AM

    @fairygirl
    I already responded to yr first point bz RS also latched onto it in his new post. Regarding not being able to tell their employers what they’re doing, that may be true but if you think all the contestants honor that, well… wanna buy a bridge in London?

    “She had to come up with an excuse….” I like Ali and may be giving too much credit to her brains, but if she has a good career that she worked hard to build, I don’t think she’s going to jeopardize it by lying to her bosses when they will clearly find out three months later that she was gone to be on a huge TV show. It’s simply more likely that she told her bosses she was cast, and asked what they thought about the opportunity.

    How often do we know where contestants work? How often do we know anything true about their personal lives? I have no idea, but I know your question is the wrong one to ask. “They” probably NEVER tell us. Instead, there are people out there ferreting information out wherever it is available. And if FB is in on it like I think, FB would make Ali’s status easy to obtain.

  41. k15

    February 12, 2010 at 12:58 PM

    Ali got the job at facebook because she was sleeping with one of the higher-ups…or “dating”. He got her the interview…not sure if that qualifies as her “working hard to build her career” as Carrythe0 stated.

  42. Carrythe0

    February 12, 2010 at 1:37 PM

    There is so much repetition with the leaving to go back to work and the crying over the railing that indicates they are running out of ideas for the Bachelor/ette series. They have reached a new low with “throwing people like Wes and Rozlyn under the bus” with their editing tricks (which aren’t that good when you see Jake’s watch suddenly appear and his shorts change color as he rushes from the bathroom to answer the phone.)

  44. ladee_t0720

    I listed in on the interview, and all I can say … you really should carefully listen to Ali’s Diary of the Departed. She didn’t talk about her job, she continued her passive/aggressive rant. The girl is a nutcase.

  46. Altanana

    February 13, 2010 at 8:53 AM

    Ali could have finished the show. Even if FB gave her an ultimatum she still had 5-6 days left before she had to be back. All that was left was 1 day filming in St. Lucia and the FRC. She easily could have done them and still kept her job. The only reason she left is that she didn’t want to be a loser, especially to Vienna. She wouldn’t have gotten the final rose and couldn’t face it.

    There is no way she will be back. The production ended three months ago, so we are not in live time. She is back at work and has a new boyfriend. Goodbye Ali and good luck.

    In case you wondered…Jake works for Delta and is the Captain on a Delta Connection jet. He was the pilot on my sister’s flight from ATL to BTR and he offered to sign her boarding pass and they had their picture taken together as he said goodbye to the passengers from the door of the jet where it connects to the jetway. This was last Fall during the showing of the Bachelorette – the week before he came back to tell Jillian the real deal about Wes. Now you all know the airline. They only show generic jets on the show. And he DOES in fact wear his sunglasses on top of one shoulder when they are not in use.

  49. pierced1

    February 14, 2010 at 10:20 AM

    I am certain that Jake would have no troubles finding a woman who wanted to marry him if that is what he is truly wants. Already he has had a live-in relationship with at least two women (I ready somewhere). Let’s say he DOES want a wife…Why in the heck would he be trying to find one on this contrived reality show? Their track record isn’t so good!!! HA HA HA. Oh well, I still enjoy watching it what the heck.
