I’m ignoring the risk of ending up in the stupid e-mailers list, here goes nothing:
Regarding this comment about who isn’t right for Brad (from Ashely on the People website) – Do you think producers suggested/convinced her to say that or are some of the contestants coming off the show still in the dark on the rumor mill?
Who isn’t right?
Ashley:“Chantal. Brad says he wants a best friend and someone to make him feel better at the end of the day, but they had more of a sexual connection.”
Comment: I love how people are emailing me now “scared” to be put in Friday’s “Reader Emails”. I think it’s obvious when you read Friday’s column which questions are stupid and which are truly ones people don’t know the answer to. It’s ok. Ask away on any questions you’d like. I’ll be the judge, jury, and executioner of if it’s stupid or not. Or if I’ve already answered it 500 times.
As for producers coaxing Ashley to say that, my answer would be no, and here’s why: Because in Jackie’s exit interview yesterday, she said this in response to the question, “Is there a woman in the house that you think is right for Brad?”
“I’d have to say Chantal O’Brien. I think that her, she really let her emotions out right from the beginning. I could personally tell by my time spent with her, even in the house, that she was really forming a very strong bond with him. And she was really opening up her heart to him.
Externally, she can definitely put up a kind of hard exterior, but inside, she’s very much a very deep and, I think, loving person and also very vulnerable and looking for love.
I think that Brad in the same respect, really felt a strong connection with Chantal. I think he appreciated the fact that she was so open with him, and really let her emotions just go, and he could get to know her better.”
So Jackie’s answer couldn’t have been more opposite of Ashley’s answer last week. If they were coaxing people in what to say in their answers to keep people off the beaten path of who final girl is, then they certainly wouldn’t have let Jackie give THAT answer.
I am trying to find the ‘bottom line’ on your site and can’t seem to. Like you had before, Episode 1 Bimbo X and Bimbo Y get the boot and so on. Is it there and I just can’t find it? Or have you not revealed all the details yet.
Comment: Yes, it’s there. In the same spot it’s been for the last two months. You know, the spot that says “The Bachelor 10: Andy”. All your answers to Brad’s season will be right there in that link. I figured I’d make people work for it by including in my writeups about a season that ended four years ago. Makes it more fun.
At some point in your recaps of Bachelor Brad’s spoilers, you mention that you know who the next Bachelorette is. When can you tell us that? Also, do you have more information in why he didn’t chose emily? I really want her to be the Bachelorette.
Comment: I don’t ever remember saying I know who the next “Bachelorette” is. You know why? Because they haven’t announced it yet. I know who they want it to be, and who has wanted to be it from the moment she applied for this show, and that’s Emily. If she doesn’t back out, it will be her show. Talk all you want about how you can’t see her making out with a bunch of guys, or she seems so quiet and reserved. None of that matters. What have people been saying about Brad this season? He’s boring, he’s uninteresting, we don’t care about him, blah blah blah. Then Tuesday’s press release for the overnight ratings comes out and you see this:
“The Bachelor” (8:00-10:00 p.m.)
Opposite stiff competition from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m., ABC’s “The Bachelor” grew its overall audience for the 4th straight week, hitting a new season high among Total Viewers (9.7 million).
“The Bachelor” ranked No. 1 in its time period among Adults 18-34 (2.8/8) and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54), standing as Monday’s No. 1 regular TV series with Women 18-34 for the 6th straight week.
So as I’ve said time and time again, this show is NEVER made because of who the lead is. It’s made by the 25/30 contestants they cast, because ultimately, it’s a soap opera. And as long as they get good drama, people will tune in no matter who’s there. If Brad was so awful and so boring, why have ratings increased the last four weeks? Why is it killing every other show on Monday night in the women demographics? Because women eat this sh** up, that’s why. Just because you don’t like him, or say you think the season sucks, there’s 9.7 million other people who don’t, and it’s like this EVERY SINGLE SEASON. That’s why this show ain’t going anywhere, and neither am I.
