The Bachelor 15 - Brad

News on the Next “Bachelorette”. Sort Of. – 2/23/11

As I’ve mentioned all season long, the “Bachelorette” would be Emily’s gig as long as she wanted it. She’s beautiful, she’s got the tragic back story, plenty of the women viewers of this show would want to see her find love once this journey for her ends at the final 2, and it’s the perfect match. In fact, from the very moment I confirmed Emily was a contestant on this show back Oct. 6th, I was told her goal was to be the “Bachelorette”, but the producers told her for that to happen, she had to at least appear on the “Bachelor” first so America could know who she is and they could build up her storyline. That’s what I was told months ago. Was it true? Impossible to prove outside of Emily admitting it, but put it this way, it’s certainly not far fetched to think that was their plan. For six seasons in a row now, the lead has been cast from a previous season, so putting Emily in front of America, having her get to the end and not be the final one leads perfectly into having her as our next “Bachelorette”.

Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I can report today that absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, that Emily will not be the next “Bachelorette”. Doesn’t mean I know who it is yet because I don’t, but for all the Emily fans out there, sorry to disappoint you. She will not be next seasons “Bachelorette”.

Within the last week, I’ve had multiple guys come forward who were called out to LA for final casting to be on the “Bachelorette”. All of them received phone calls some time last week telling them they were rejected and won’t be cast. Then they all told me pretty much the same thing. They were told by casting that “there’s been a change of plans, and we’ve had to go in a different direction.” So I have no idea what happened on Emily’s end (and no, it’s not because Emily is the one who Brad picked. That definitely isn’t the case). Maybe the Hendrick family got involved, maybe Emily got cold feet, maybe it had something to do with Ricki, maybe the money wasn’t good enough. Hell if I know. Your guess is as good as mine. What I do know is that after receiving emails from these guys, I made a few phone calls myself, and it was confirmed to me that indeed it was correct, Emily will not be the next “Bachelorette”.

So the debate now is, “Who will it be?” I think we can assume it’s going to be someone from the “Bachelor” family since the formula has worked for six seasons in a row. So it’ll either be one of the girls from Brad’s season, or, they’ll dip back into their pool of female contestants from previous seasons and go that route. I know some of you want them to pick someone new, but you can forget it. It’ll be someone from the “family”, I can pretty much guarantee you that. Let the guessing begin, and once I find out, I’ll let you know. Filming begins for the “Bachelorette” in less than 3 weeks, so it’s gonna be coming sometime soon.

Let the conspiracy theories fly as to why Emily isn’t the next “Bachelorette”. I don’t know why, and I don’t care. All I know is she’s not, and that’s about as clear as I can make it.

The option of Cheryl Burke is out because of the conflict of filming DWTS!

GIA is the hottest bachelorette ever on this show..She’d be a tremendous Bachelorette!

Michelle Money is a filthy skank!

If Michelle Money is a filthy skank, then what are you? An STD infested crack whore? You do realize that ABC edits the crap out of this show to the point you really have no idea what a person is like.

You wanna know who is much worse? Vienna…. hands down. I would watch Michelle, but if they put Vienna on there I swear I will remove any and all ABC shows from my TV menu. Vienna is the most worthless piece of trailer trash shit bag to have ever walked the earth. The girl hardly deserves to be breathing the same air as the rest of us.

I’d rather have Shawntel than Ashley or Cheryl B. but…her edit was super-creepy, and so was her family (well, her dad). They are going to have to backtrack on that stuff a little.

I’m very glad Emily is not going to do it. People with young children shouldn’t leave them for such long periods of time. Or subject them to being filmed 24/7. It’s not healthy.

What a perfect opportunity to do finally something different… can we finally see “The Lesbian Bachelorette.” One women who gets to choose from 30 women. I think it’s time; America is ready.

Sophomoric humor refers to juvenile, puerile, and base comedy that would normally be expected from an adolescent; conceited, arrogant, asinine, boyish, boylike, calflike, childish, childlike, coltish, foolish, girlish, girllike, immature, inconsequential, infantile, infantine, insignificant, irresponsible, juvenile, kiddish, maiden, maidenly, puplike, puppyish, puppylike, ridiculous, shallow, silly, trivial.

Steve admits upfront that his column is sophomoric, and then readers endlessly complain because it’s sophomoric. If you don’t like this kind of crass, politically incorrect and raunchy humor, for the life of me I don’t know why you keeping reading this column!
