Wanted to fill everyone in on a very cool contest taking place that Jason Mesnick asked for my help in promoting. Got an email from him a couple weeks back asking to help him promote a contest giveaway with a company he’s working with that’d be of interest to my readers. Considering the giveaway is a 9-day/8-night trip to South Africa, I’m sure a lot of you would be interested. Here’s the details described by Jason:
“I am working with a company called www.AfricaAnswers.com to give away an incredible trip to South Africa. Africa Answers is the company that sent Molly and I on our incredible honeymoon. Last night, we launched a fun Bachelor fan targeted Facebook game and the winner gets a trip to South Africa. Playing is easy: there are 12 trivia questions (all Bachelor/South Africa related). All you have to do to enter is go to http://bit.ly/AfricaAnswers watch the video with my clues, and enter. Every correct answer gives you an entry into the game. Contest ends on March 31st.”
Once you go to that site, the first three questions are up as Jason gives a little :10 video clip of what the question is. They are quite easy. In fact, I think everyone reading this may know the answer to question #3. Even I knew that one. Anyway, once you submit your three answers, you’ll be notified when the next three are available. So sign in, play it, and maybe you’ll win a trip to South Africa. I know I’ve already entered. I wanna sleep in the treehouse where Brad and Chantal did it.
Wanted to also alert everyone to the “Reality Rocks Expo” happening at the LA Convention Center on April 9th & 10th that I will be attending. Actually, I’ll only be there Saturday the 9th due to a prior obligation on Sunday, but it should be pretty fun. Click on the link below as it has all the details and information you need to know from who’s gonna be there, to what type of discussions and panel events they’re having, etc:
As of right now, DeAnna Pappas is the only “Bachelor/ette” alum that will be appearing as she is part of one of the panels on Sunday (all the panel times and topics are at the “Reality Rocks” website in the link). However, I know there will be more of your favorites there just being part of it, so it’ll give you an opportunity to meet them. As for me, I have no idea what I’m doing there other than showing up and setting up a table in the media room. I think. However, the reason I’m telling you all this is because in the coming weeks, I will be giving away passes to get into the event. Admission is $35 for one day, $65 for both. So if you’re interested in going, or you already live in LA and want to go, stay tuned as I will be figuring out a creative way on how to get some of my readers passes in to the event. Basically from what I understand, it’s going to be Comic-Con, but all centered around reality TV. Panel discussions, chance to meet producers and directors of shows, meet some personalities from all different shows, etc. So hey, if you’re wanting to get some 15 minutes of fame, this might be an opportunity for you to schmooze up to some suits and get some exposure.
For those that didn’t watch Fridays video blog, we are going to have another “Bachelor” watch party next Monday night for the finale here in Dallas. Same place, same time. Bailey’s Prime Plus, across the street from Northpark Mall, on the east side of 75. Here’s the press release:
Jeremy Anderson and Brian Westendorf from DeAnna’s season will be there. Peyton Wright from Andy Baldwin’s season and “Bachelor Pad” will be there. And last but certainly not least, Laurel will be there. Actually, Laurel came to our premiere event too, but at that point, nobody remembered what she looked like or who she was. But I asked her to come, she’s obviously interested to see Brad’s engagement happen on TV, so she decided she would. If you want to ask her all the questions that maybe were unanswered for you in the US Weekly article, I’m sure she won’t have a problem with it. Since we both decided not to go forward with doing the interview, I figured this was the next best thing we could do. Laurel is happy that Brad is engaged, she wishes him and Emily nothing but the best, her interview with US gave her the closure she wanted, and she’s moved on. So I thank her for coming to the party.
A lot of you have been asking me about the Emily cover story in “In Touch” magazine last week about the her “lies” to Brad and whether or not they are true. Here’s all I will say: I told you four months ago that there wasn’t any drama on the show this season in terms of scandal at that all the drama you’d see would play out in the tabloids. Well, we saw it with Laurel’s story, there were a couple things on Chantal and her ex that popped up, we had the Michelle affair with Boozer, and now the Emily stuff. When Emily was confirmed to me as a contestant back in October, I was told about pretty much everything you saw in that “In Touch” piece. In fact, they were even a couple other things I heard that weren’t in the article. Is it true? I think there’s some truth to it because I heard it from quite a few people. Had I heard long ago that she was never engaged to Ricky, that she lives off the Hendricks money, that she never worked as an event planner, and that she’s dated numerous celebrities in the past? Yes, I had.
I guess only she knows whether it’s true or not, but nothing I read in that article surprised me. No different than what Laurel said to US. I had heard that stuff about Brad and Laurels relationship for three years ever since he was on the show the first time. To dismiss everything these people say would be naïve. There’s plenty of truth in these stories. We’ll beat our heads against a wall trying to pick out every detail that’s right and wrong. But to say she’s the sweet innocent little Southern Belle the show has portrayed her as might be a bit of a stretch. She’s definitely got some things in her past that don’t necessarily add up. But hey, that’s for Brad to figure out and not me. I just know that it wasn’t the first time I’d heard all that stuff, and there’s even more to it that just makes things a tad questionable in my mind. And not just piling on Emily here, but I’ve already said it this season: Emily Maynard did NOT need to go on this show to find a date or a boyfriend or fiancé. Hell, most of these people don’t. That’s why you just have to question anyone who agrees to go on this show because most people have ulterior motives. Time will tell if Brad and Emily make it. As for now, they are in love, engaged, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing them on the cover of “People” magazine next week once Mondays episode airs and it’s official. But because they got engaged on the show, doesn’t mean they’ll get married. We know this. Told you we had a lot to cover before the recap. On to last night…
