The Bachelorette 7 - Ashley

The Bachelorette Recap – 6/6/11 Including “Bachelor Pad” Cast Info & Where I Stand On All Things Bentley

-Bentley sees Ashley crying and says “I’m not gonna pass up an opportunity to mess with her head”. Of course, that was just a voice over of him saying that so you have absolutely no idea in what context he said it, but of course, the show made it seem like it was in reference to him about to f**k with Ashley in her weakened state of mind. I could probably think of 10 possible questions they could’ve asked Bentley in his ITM to get to elicit that exact sentence, but I’d rather not. I don’t believe anything this show sells us and neither should you. But I know a majority of you people don’t believe how precise these producers can get with their editing, so I’m not gonna try and convince you. I know that they sell mostly BS on this show, and that those ITM’s are so manipulated with leading questions, repeating back to the producer the question they just asked, forced conversation to talk about stuff you don’t want to talk about, and questions that have absolutely nothing to do with the show, but the answers make it seem like they do. Not saying Bentley didn’t give them great sound bites. Just saying that you have no idea what context they were actually used in and the lengths the producers will go to get exactly what they want.

-She starts talking to the other guys but apparently is still shaken to the core by a few bad William jokes. “What if all the guys feel the same way as William?” Yeah, I’d say her insecurities are taking over at this point. Not that I’m Mr. Advice Giver or anything, but you can’t live her life like this. Hey, I’ll admit I struggle with it at times too. Not to the extent that Ashley does where I curl myself up in a ball under my covers and cry like someone just stole Maddie from me. But still, I cannot tell you how many times when either dating or in relationships I’ve been lied to, told things they thought I wanted to hear rather than stuff they actually believed, and just been a complete dishonest and phony person all around. It’s staggering how many people I’ve been with that are like that. However, if I went into every future relationship thinking that the next person is just gonna be like all the rest, I’ll be fighting an uphill battle. I definitely have my guard up because of past experiences, but if you don’t give me a reason to doubt your sincerity, then I won’t. She’s gotta let that go. Now that my $100/hr life lesson is over, it’s kinda pointless to even talk about this because this happened two months ago. Ashley is fine now and she’s engaged. Sure, it’s probably hard for her to watch this over again, but does any of it even matter now? I don’t think so. And oh yeah, Ryan came in and immediately saved the day for Ashley telling her that he’s there for her and he’s so excited she’s the Bachelorette. Nice guy, got him the rose. Well played.

-Next after making out with Ryan, Ashley sits down with Bentley and brings up the fact that she was warned about him before the show. Ashley says in her ITM that it was Michelle Money who sent the text messages warning her he might not be there for the right reasons. When she brings it up to him, Bentley pretty much already knows the texts must’ve come from Michelle. “Michelle Money knows my ex-wife. I wouldn’t say that’d be a great source of information.” Now we’re just playing a game of he said, she said at this point. We don’t know what the texts said, when they were sent, or how strong of a message was sent in them. I think it’s funny that the show let Bentley continue to believe that it could even be POSSIBLE that Emily would be the Bachelorette. Huh? They knew back before Thanksgiving that Emily would never be the Bachelorette because she was engaged to Brad. So why do you tell your potential contestants “Hey, who would you like to see as the Bachelorette” or “Hey, if the Bachelorette were Emily, what would you think of that?” Makes no sense. At least take Emily out of the equation since you knew immediately she’s the one person it COULDN’T be. But hey, once again the show is lying leading contestants on and getting them to say things that will be damaging later.

@ Dianne says —-I don’t think Summer said anything inappropriate or rude? I think she was trying to empathize (sp) with Ashley. I have small boobs too! I gained 60lbs when I was pregnant with my first son, and kept it on for years. I lost the 60lbs a few years ago and my boob size went down considerably. Definitely a downside to losing weight…BOOBS ARE FAT! lol 🙂

Steve- I’m sure you know this by now, but Jake is definitely on the cast of this season’s Bachelor Pad. I guess they let him use Facebook and Twitter for whatever reason. Here’s a link to the quick article and a picture of Jake on a date (through the BP show) with Jackie Gordon (from Brad Womack’s recent season).

    Jake’s reality TV checklist:
    1) Bachelorette 2) Bachelor 3) Dancing with the Stars 4) Bachelor Pad
Am I leaving any other reality TV credits out for Jakey? Anyone else tired of this guy and just want him to go away?

A question for wisewords: what credentials do you have to be diagnosing mental disorders, and what objective interviewing and testing criteria are you using with Bentley?

Mommyof2, ME!!! I am so sick of this guy!! To think we get to see that smarmy grin this summer again. Is he finally out of reality TV he can get on? Please let this be the last time! I would put money he’s begging for a second chance on the Bachelor too.

Must be Bentley’s minions on here trying to do damage control…typical sociopath strategy… lol. My qualifications are education, training and experience working in the mental health field, but that’s irrelevant. Nobody is diagnosing. This blog is about opinion. If you happened to click on the link I posted above, Athena, and actually read it, the psychologist agrees with me. Here’s another article titled “The Bachelorette and the Sociopath”:
