-Back at the mansion is where they show Kasey giving Vienna a ring. Kind gesture on his part, just wanted to tell her he would always be there for her and she blurts out, “I hope it’s not an engagement ring.” Nice. Yeah, that pretty much killed the mood. I’m shocked Kasey kept his composure after she blurted that out. That was brutal. I’m guessing Vienna has a giant force field up when it comes to opening up to men after what happened with Jake and how that whole proposal went, which is understandable, but that was just a case of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. I really hoped she apologized afterwards because that just flat out sucked to say something like that when your boyfriend is opening up to you on your 6 month anniversary. If that were me, I would’ve been pretty livid and bummed out. So for that, I give Kasey credit. He seems to be able to handle a hell of a lot more than I could in a relationship. Some people I guess have an easier time moving past drama, and all the fighting and making up. Not me. Whatever works for them, I wish them well. I just could never be in a relationship like that. I’d go nuts. My life is too simple and drama free to constantly be arguing about stupid stuff every day, then getting mad, then making up hours later. They are a very extreme couple. Their bad moments are really bad that lead to blowups, but then their good moments they are all over each other and like a newlywed couple with the lovey dovey stuff. Interesting dynamic. But hey, she even said on “Access Hollywood” this morning she will marry Kasey someday, so, whatever works for them.
And then in all his Kasey glory, he dropped this lyrical genius on us:
“I know from this point on,
I can carry on,
My love for you.
Tonight I gave you a promise,
And put it on your finger,
And all I know now,
Is you are my forever.
So when you’re feeling blue,
Just know that I love you.”
Sniff, sniff. That was beautiful. I bet Ali is jealous she didn’t get one like that.
The strategy for the remainder of the episode was focused around Erica trying to rally the troops and get Kasey off the show. And oh yeah, Melissa crying over what seemed to be anytime anyone talked to her. This was all really weird and must’ve been shown out of sequence because one scene you have Erica going Mission Impossible doing a bear crawl to sneak up on a Melissa conversation, then see them at each other’s throats because Melissa is upset that Erica told people she was talking to Jake, then later on, Melissa and Erica are teaming up and agreeing that Kasey should go. Like I’ve said the first two weeks, I don’t pay much attention to the last half hour of the show with everyone strategizing because it’s pointless. They’re going to show you what makes the most entertaining television, and make it seem like every rose ceremony is this close vote to whose going home. Jake was going home no matter what last night, and all they did was try and stir the pot to make you think it could be Kasey.
Does Jake have some deal with the devil we don’t know about? If there was ever any proof that he must have some nude photos of TV executives, last night must’ve been it. Even on the episode where he gets voted off, Jake manages to be seen in yet another episode as next week will obviously start with Jake’s exit from the show. I’m sure he has some words for Kasey and Vienna and I guarantee you it’s not going to be as big of deal as the show is making it out to be. I’ll say it for the 1000th time, but why TV executives keep putting this guy on TV I have no idea. There was no other reason to end the show like that last night other than to give Jake another week to show his face. And it’s not like he’s gonna be around long. They’ll show his exit at the beginning of the show, and then he’s gone. He doesn’t reappear at any point, so, I don’t get why they did that. And for Chris to say, “This is the closest vote in ‘Bachelor Pad’ history” was just a lie. I wasn’t there to count the votes, but I can assure you that vote was not 7-6. That was all done to hype the ending of the show and to get people to tune in next week. A typical TV tease that’s been done 1,000 times before. I don’t know why so many people freaked out over the ending last night.
One final thought: I didn’t think the Mask thing was funny the first time they showed it. I didn’t think it was funny when they did it again last week. And now I certainly don’t think it’s all that funny the third week in a row. Just seems to be stupid filler that has no bearing on anything. He obviously didn’t keep showing up at the house every third day to do something. They shot all of his scenes on the same night and are just making it seem like he keeps randomly showing up. So dumb.
