Bachelor Pad 2

Your “Reader Emails” & Who Was “Jean Jammin” in the BP House? – 9/2/11

Thank you so much for your funny and sarcastic reviews of this highly entertaining show. It’s so interesting to hear how the producers manipulate so much, and still there are some genuine relationships that come out of this fake environment. Fascinating.

Question: I thought Ashley Hebert was supposed to be on Dancing with the Stars. Do you know what happened there?

Comment: The only reason anyone ever mentioned Ashley Hebert’s name with “Dancing with the Stars” was because she was a former dancer, and the fact that show hasn’t been shy about casting former contestants. There was never any proof that Ashley was asked to be on the show, because if she was, I guarantee she would’ve been on. There are plenty of rumors out there started by whoever that people love running with as fact. That wasn’t one of them.

Hi Steve,

As we’re between Bachelor seasons and ‘Friday Questions’ volume is down, thought I’d ask a few random:

– Overnight dates & last chance dates – obviously they know their F1 by that point. I assume, at least for the Bachelorettes, they hate having to go on those F2 & F3 dates and fake the sexual chemistry – especially knowing their F1 (and his family!) will eventually see it air. Do the producers specifically coach them before those dates on what they physically have to do to make it appear there’s attraction/love, down to the very detail? For example, Ashley’s make-out scene with Ben on his bed – it was as though they told her beforehand to wrap her leg around him. Awkward.

And I’m sorry, but on an overnight date the guy you’re sleeping with (assuming he’s in love) is gonna want to know if you’ve slept with the other 2 guys also.. case in point JP. They’re not allowed to share info about their other dates, but do the TPTB really think she’s going to answer the theoretical fantasy suite question of “Did you have sex with Ben?” with “I can’t say”? Hell no – she’s doing to say “no – only you” and that gives away the ending right there. I guess my point is that for Bachelorette seasons, the F1 guy has to know with about 95% certainty after overnight dates that he’s the one. I’m assuming here that Ashley only slept with JP, that Ali only slept with Roberto, but Jillian.. probably more than Ed.

– I’m sure you’ve answered this one before, but late in the season does the Bachelor/ette have a say in date order, and are the fantasy dates / last chance dates aired in the order they occur? It seems like late in the game the F1 usually gets the last date. I do remember on Ali’s season she had that great 1-on-1 with Roberto in Portugal which I think was the first date that week, then she seemed distracted and uninterested the rest of the episode.

– Was there ever a Bachelor/ette that truly was confused about who to choose when down to the final 3 or so? Did not watch Brad’s first season so don’t know how that one played out behind the scenes.

– Regarding Bentley – obviously he wanted the attention and was willing to say whatever in his ITM’s to get it, but have you heard how he’s now handling all the backlash in his personal life? do you think he’ll ever resurface at reunions or on Bachelor Pad, or will he be permanently ostracized by the fraternity?

Comment: It’s very tough to know why the lead acts the way they do, when in all probability, they pretty much do know by the time they’re down to 3 people who they are going to choose. But remember, it’s a TV show. They HAVE to keep people in suspense. So they have to give the audience the illusion that the lead isn’t attracted to one person over the other. Take Ali for example. I mean, people were undecided whether or not she’d be with Chris or Roberto up until the very end. Yet after the show, Ali has stated numerous times that it was always Roberto in her mind. But she still made out with Chris numerous times, and still balled her eyes out over Frank leaving at the final three, so not to make it obvious it was Roberto. I’m sure they are coached in a certain way as not to give away the ending and their choice so early.

I don’t think so. The lead doesn’t dictate anything on this show.

I can’t say for sure since I haven’t really asked them myself since I don’t know them, but I’m guessing most of the leads know who they’re going to pick by the time it’s down to the final three.

No idea what’s going on with Bentley and don’t really care. He’s yesterday’s news.

Steve, Do you know who is going to be the next bachelorette ??? Do you know who ends up winning Big Brother or the final two ?

Comment: Ahhhhhh, what mailbag wouldn’t be complete without one of these hard hitting questions that hasn’t been answered a gazillion times already. The next Bachelorette? Hmmmmm, good one. I’ll go with Audrina Patridge. Who wins Big Brother? Ohhhh, I think it’s gonna be that one chick. Oh, no, no, no. That one dude. You know, the guy who said that thing about that one girl. Yeah. Him.

I think probably Jason was confused about who he would pick. I mean, i could be wrong but i mean he DID go back and choose a different girl lol. And he was always saying how he fell in love with both Melissa and Molly, and I dont think he had enough time to decide.

To answer the question re: Holly-

as a guy (yes, who watches this show), i’d have to say probably the flirtiness. guys like their ego stroked…so if a girl is giving you attention (flirting), then you’ll be drawn to it. she also does seem to have a friendly/bubbly personality that is appealing.

of course i’m not speaking for all guys, but just a generalization. like RS’s comment in a previous comment about “women are emotional creatures…etc”.

I agree with kmreed1 that Jason must have been confused about who to choose as his final one, considering what happened afterwards.

Also, I watched the finale of the show Sweet Home Alabama on CMT, and I have to say, that I just loved it! It’s a lot like the Bachelor/ette series, except that it obviously doesn’t have the big bucks for production as the Bachelor/ette franchise has, which is fine by me. The dates seemed real, most of the guys seemed real- particularly the “country” ones (and quite funny, actually!), and I loved Devin, the lead. She was not only beautiful outwardly (more beautiful than any of the lead Bachelorettes), but inwardly as well as she seemed to have been raised with many core values that she still cherishes. She picked a great guy, but the final 2 guy that she didn’t choose was definitely the hottest. And, Tribble (the guy she didn’t choose in the end) will be the next lead in the show that premiere’s Oct. 20th. He’s from Alabama and was the starting QB for Clemson a few years back. I can’t wait to watch him as he’s hotter than any of the former Bachelors, too. Another thing I like about the shopw is that there’s no proposal in the end. They just end of dating and seeing where things go from there, which is much more realistic. Great show!

You know what I’ve never seen posted anywhere? Where the “mansion” is. If you’re from the LA area, you probably know it’s on Kanan. 2351 Kanan Road, Agoura Hills, to be exact. Look it up on Google maps if you wanna get the satellite view. And it looks like the house the Bachelor/Bachelorette stays in is right next door (2401 Kanan). So Justin’s “trek” in the ankle cast that he supposedly took a few seasons ago was really right. next. door. Just thought you viewers from around the country might wanna know…

Obviously the person that asked you if you know who wins Big Brother does not even watch Big Brother him/herself. If they did, they would know that the show is happening in real time (ie: live shows every Thursday, Big Brother live feeds on, Big Brother After Dark on HBO). And of course, the winner is decided live, so unless you can see into the future, no one knows who will win.
