As for the reunion show, there were a few things to touch on before I give my thoughts on the Blake/Holly engagement and how that all played out. But here a few things I noticed:
-I thought every girl up there looking really, really good. From Alli all the way to Melissa, there wasn’t a single one I’d kick out of bed.
-Either something went down that we don’t know about between Ames and Jackie, or that was just the oddest break up ever. We’re a month removed from it and Ames still really hasn’t given anyone a clear answer as to what it was other than he and Jackie are “different.” Sh**, every couple is “different’ in some aspects. Ames continues to be an enigma that I don’t think any of us will ever understand.
-I thought the Jake and Kasey debate was quite interesting. Not because of anything they were saying to each other, but for the fact that every time the camera panned back on Kasey in his seat responding to Jake, all you could see in clear view over Kasey’s right shoulder were Ella’s new breasts. Quite comical.
-I thought Kasey showed a much more vulnerable side to himself last night and I gotta commend him for it. Not easy to get up there in the spotlight and watch all that back and admit to America you were embarrassed with yourself. Not to mention that after basically a year of getting made fun of for his voice (and trust me, the amount of “is he deaf” or “does he have a speech impediment” emails I’ve gotten over the last year would blow your mind), Kasey admitted to having a speech impediment, which took a lot of balls to do. That couldn’t have been easy.
-I don’t get why people want to dissect his relationship with Vienna so much. I said it earlier this season, and I’ll say it again: She’s not for everyone. I certainly couldn’t tolerate that much fighting and drama in a relationship, but hey, if he can, then all the power to him. My bit of advice for both of them would be just to lay low for a while. Jumping back into anything reality TV related would be too much, too soon. Dr. Reality Steve at your service.
-Melissa came off a lot better than she did on the show. I mean, she pretty much admitted the show made her crazy, but once again, it seemed like Blake downplayed everything that happened with her. Own up to what you did, apologize to her (and actually mean it), and move on. I’m sure Blake didn’t care to have the Melissa stuff thrown in his face again, but c’mon, it was a major part of the show. Why he didn’t just apologize and say “I hope you can someday forgive me”, is beyond me. Must be pre-marital bliss.
-As for the voting itself, what if Blake is secretly a genius and we’re not giving him enough credit for what he did here. I mean, when you think about it, by pulling that stunt of proposing to Holly and having cameras film it, knowing it’ll be shown at the finale before the voting takes place, maybe Blake did it on PURPOSE thinking that, “Ok, once they all find out Holly and I are engaged, EVERYONE will feel sorry for Michael, thus giving him and Holly the votes.” Basically, I think the 10-4 vote was more a vote for Michael than it was for Holly. Holly just happened to be Michael’s partner. So in the end, Blake wins because Holly is 125k richer and he’s engaged to her. I think Blake’s proposal sealed Michelle and Graham’s fate. No way they weren’t voting for Michael at that point.
