Reality Steve

The Bachelorette 8 - Emily

What to Expect Tomorrow Night…

Sorry for no recap on Tuesday. I wanted to get you those spoilers first, and the plan was to write the recap on my flight to LA. Well unfortunately, a 6’5″ 350 lb man was in the middle seat of my flight, and it was physically impossible to bust out the laptop and type without knocking him in the arm all flight. Those 2.5 hours were uncomfortable enough as it was for the both of us already, asking him to give me space to type on a laptop was out of the question. I fly home tomorrow morning, so the plan is to not give a full recap of last Monday’s episode, but just my thoughts on last week since I’ll only have two hours on the plane, then the show starts a few hours after I land. But I still have my notes with me and I’ll let you know when it’s posted.

As for tomorrow night’s episode, here are the basics you need to know:

-Arie is the one that is not a offered a fantasy suite card. His date ends during dinner. Emily chooses not to offer him the date card because she “doesn’t trust herself.”

-Sean and Jef both are offered overnight date cards, and both accept. The offer of the date card is just a way to extend the date longer, but neither of them spend the night with her. At least not that we see on camera.

-Sean is eliminated at the rose ceremony. Arie and Jef are her final two.

If/When I get more “Men Tell All” information, I will let you know..

I hardly doubt Fleiss is getting this worked up just because RS released some spoilers. There has to be more to it. We know it has something to do with the agreement RS signed, and since he’s released spoilers since then it can’t be just about these latest spoilers. I’m sure RS breaking the terms of the agreement have something to do with these spoilers, but for people to act like its just the spoilers is silly.

Something is definitely up though. RS was supposed to post a few thoughts about last week a few hours ago. Yes, he was supposed to post the recap a few days ago and didn’t, but I doubt he’d slack off twice in a row, but who knows. But its been 4hrs since he said he landed, and not a word? Interesting… I bet he is having a pow wow with his lawyers as well.

my apologies — just looked at Fleiss’ tweets that are most definitely aimed at RS. You were right.

Fleiss really hates RS. Can’t blame him.

All I can say is Fleiss is acting like a childish jackass and if there is no more RS blog – and I mean recaps as much as anything else – then I won’t watch anymore. Not just saying that either; all the fun would be gone and just the stupid would be left. Bachelor Roberto without Steve? No way, not me. I can find other things to do/watch.

@ifucsam no I totally agree with you that this needs to be dealt with in private. It’s ridiculous that he is acting like a two year old. I was just saying that mike needs to realize that it’s not that big of a deal and people actually like knowing
@missie he said he brought his dog and he liked Kalon and then posted about his niece being there too and she liking Jef. Yea I just went to go look for the Sean pictures cause I missed them and I can’t find them. So Fleiss needs to get his people under contract in control also if he wants to publicly bash RS

I wonder if Steve’s source works for Fleiss and somehow Fleiss caught that person feeding Steve the detailed info. So, he’s meaning that person is the parasite, but somehow Steve breached his contract to get the info. So now the ” parasite” is gone from his crew and Reality Steve is in legal trouble once again. Just a guess. This site makes the show so much better! The only people who read it WANT it spoiled. It doesn’t ruin it for anyone else. Fleiss seems way immature. I still hope Steve is right about Jef!

I did notice because I just went to look for them. I also looked at Arie’s twitter and he was posting pics from an Indy race in Toronto last weekend and Jef posted pics from People Water HQ (I’m assuming in Salt Lake City).

    July 9, 2012 at 5:25 PM

I totally agree that fleiss is way immature about steve. I don’t know why he doesn’t just ignore him. Why doesn’t he get mad at the other websites that repeat what steve says? I don’t think Steve ruins anything, because you can never know if he’s right unless you watch it anyway.

  8. bostoncpa

    July 9, 2012 at 5:47 PM

Also, Fleiss’s examples made no sense… Sporting events are always live, and tons of movies are based on books (or are just so predictable) that you know exactly what happens before you watch.

The reference to the ATFR has me wondering whether RS may have been punked on a couple of levels. Sounds like he may need to get his attorneys cranking again.

It sounds like Fleiss is planning on hitting Steve with a big suite, and will probably try to make the case in Cali.
I looked at his twitter feed and was a little surprised; how have more of you not bombed him, and ABC, and taken over his various hash tags and flooded them with spoilers and links here?
Let him, his supporters, and his sponsors, know that Steve is the only reason a lot of people pay attention to this train wreck of a “reality” show and that some production with a splinter in their foot spending more money than most Americans will make in any number of years to crush (Publicly no less) one man is not right. Make a lot of noise.

  11. kasey31

    July 9, 2012 at 7:25 PM

@iruser- bc it doesnt matter.. fleiss has been out to get rs for a long, long time.. nothing we say will change that, and if steve was in breach of that agreement he signed, then there is really no ground for anyone to stand on..

who knows? maybe mike fleiss and steve are secretly working together to bring more attention to the show… it just seems strange that the head of such a huge franchise would be pucblicly saying these things.. doesnt make any sense..

    July 9, 2012 at 9:23 PM

I think that I know what it is. According to Steve, his agreement states that he is not to contact anybody that works for the Bachelor/ette show. However, the other day, he tweeted this:

    RealitySteve ?@RealitySteve
@fleissmeister Cmon at least throw in my Twitter name or plug my site in your tweets to bring even more attention to me. ?#BFFs?

I think that may constitute contact with a Bachelor staff. I wonder what happens if he is in violation of his agreement.

  13. tamislc

    July 9, 2012 at 9:47 PM

@jillbeau..Thank you.Yes maybe Fleiss needs to check his own staff and @shea fleiss tweeted his niece would be at MTA and she was a Jef fan he did not say Jef was there.Fleiss is acting like this imo cause Steve is correct other wise he would just ignore it IMO

  14. kasey31

    July 9, 2012 at 10:59 PM

@sonnetxvii- ya, thats a good point… i could be wrong, but i dont think thats the first time they have communicated through twitter after the settlement though.. if it is, maybe fleiss was taunting him to try to get him to make initial contact.. u could be absolutely right!

  15. hurricaneemily

    July 9, 2012 at 11:53 PM

Wow. I’m not on twitter but it sounds completely childish and unprofessional for the head of a major television franchise to be making comments like this no matter whom they’re aimed at. I like RS but if I were Mr. Fleiss, he would be nothing more than a fly in my soup. I’d ask the waiter to simply bring me a new bowl, not try to stab the fly to death with my spoon after it’s already drowned and splash soup all over the place like a madman.

RS HAS been implying that Sean and Jef were the final 2. To paraphrase, he said that everything points to Jef and Sean being the final 2 and that he thought Jef was the winner but he has repeatedly said he didn’t KNOW. He also did say he BELIEVED that the reason Arie got cut was because of the Cassie situation which obviously didn’t come to pass. So far, Steve has only been wrong about his speculation but not about what he believes is written in stone.

Last week he posted that he got new information which was “something he hadn’t heard before” (per his video blog) that confirmed to him that Jef was F1. I am suspicious about this information and RS has not described why this info was different than anything else he’d heard before. If Mike Fleiss is hell-bent on doing RS in as a lot of people reading this blog seem to believe, then it would not surprise me that MF would use a plant to feed false info to RS and find a way to make him violate the contract in the process.

It’s hard for me to say at this point whom Emily will choose. Her conversations with Jef seem to have more substance but her chemistry with Arie knows no bounds. I think her refusing to give him the fantasy suite card was irrelevant to her final choice. If you are hot for someone, it’s very hard to resist temptation when given the opportunity of the privacy of a bedroom. If she really believed she wouldn’t be able to resist him in such a situation, it makes sense that she wouldn’t give him the card since she was trying to be a good role model for her daughter and thought there was a chance she would cave if left alone with Arie. And it’s not just Arie who’s all over HER. She repeatedly said on tonight’s episode how much she loves kissing him. I’ve yet to see her pull away from any affection he’s offered. It takes 2 to play that much tonsil hockey so horn-dog or no, Em’s a horn-dog for Arie too.

However, it seems like the camera crews were still on for most of the fantasy suite time with Jef and Sean so it doesn’t really make sense that she would need to “resist” him. She could spend more time with him and have a camera man come in as chaperone. I think that was just something to drum up drama on a season where it is lacking. I personally don’t mind the lack of drama. What has been annoying is ABC constantly making it look like there’s going to be drama in the previews and then nothing really happens. Now it’s gotten to the point that I just expect whatever I see in previews is twisted and nothing really dramatic is going to happen.

At first, I was strongly in Arie’s court. Now, Jef has really pulled up strongly. I usually have a good idea of who is going to win pretty early on and I predicted Arie. But now I really don’t know. RS says Jef but I am wary of the info he got regarding the outcome because of ABC being after him. I think Em has a tough decision to make and I think it is going to genuinely hurt her to let one of these 2 guys go.

I really don’t see what all of you are seeing that she’s a gold-digger, etc. So hateful. She seems like a nice girl with a good head on her shoulders. Getting paid doesn’t make her materialistic. And it sounds like she’s pretty well off. Why would she need to dig for more gold? And do you honestly think a woman that gorgeous and elegant hasn’t been courted by the creme-de-la-creme of society? If all she wanted was money, I’m sure she’s had her pick of wealthy suitors.

Plus, her dates have been pretty inexpensive compared to previous seasons. No bungee-jumping or sky-diving. If she were really so materialistic, it seems like she would have demanded much more elaborate dates but everything with her is very sedate like she just wants to get to know people. I don’t understand the hatred toward her.

I’m sorry for RS if this is the end. I don’t always agree with him but he’s entertaining and seems like a decent person. I look forward to reading his blog each week. I hope MF hasn’t caught him in violation of the contract.

  16. cangel44

    July 10, 2012 at 12:30 AM

On the other spoiler forum they indicated Sean was F2 and Jef was F1. I don’t have time to dig through the threads to see if they changed their outcome. Now it looks like they were wrong about the F2. If they were right on the F1 Fliess should be mad at Luv_me for spoiling his show weeks ago. If luv_me wants credit then he/she should attach their real name to their spoilers. Steve is not the only one who spoils the show.

It also seems like Fliess’s tweets could be a form of cyber bullying/threats towards Steve. If they were directed towards him. I hope Steve does something about them.

@HurricaneE Emily’s dates are not extravagant because she has already indicated she is not athletic. There is no way she would do anyhing to put herself or Ricki at risk. Thats why there was no sky diving, swimming with sharks, ect.

    July 10, 2012 at 4:22 AM

First off, Fleiss is a Pig. Is trashing the other party, part of his agreement?!!!!

Secondly, RS puts his name, picture, and reputation on his spoilers. Luv_Me does not, I guess thats why these nameless and faceless beings post the way that they do. They can hide in the woodwork anominously and no one will know who they are if they are wrong. No public ridicule for them. So my hats off to RS.

What does Fleiss mean by, We will all be shocked at the AFR… I think that was directed at RS spoilers, well isn’t the other blog site stating the same spoiler, oh I get it, only RS will take the heat.

Either way, Emily was sucking face with all 3 guys last night, every time I tuned back in she was liplocked with one of them. Does she hold the Bachelorette record for kissing? All her prim and proper crap.. Yeah right.

Geez, If guess Fleiss should look in the mirror, calling someone else a parasite… Really the only parasite that I see is Fleiss himself.

  19. Sunnyside422

    July 10, 2012 at 5:11 AM

Yes, Fleiss is pond scum and has always been so! Such an unprofessional piece of work.

Good work Steve in coming up with the final 2. I will look forward to seeing Jef as final one. He is the whole package and a real deal. If Ems wants an ITM relationship, pick Arie, but if she wants permanence, then it is Jef. What a decent, intelligent young man.

  20. needabachintervention

    July 10, 2012 at 6:04 AM

I do not see the chemistry at all w/ her and Jef w/ one “F”. Sure they have nice conversations but they are seriously lacking passion. Having been married for 15 years having deep passion is a key ingredient to long term happiness. When you are friends you end up as room mates and parents in the long term versus lovers AND friends. She has both with Arie. I think it was Jef’s massive family estate that sealed the deal. He seems like a nice guy but beyond that I don’t get it. If Jef is the F1, imagine how he must feel watching Emily and Arie together. They clearly have something more in their relationship that is lacking w/ Emily and Jef. Just another reason why these relationships rarely work out. I understand that you have to have a certain mentality to go on this ridiculous show, but I don’t know how you could just forget and ignore watching something like that. If she is crazy about Jef that way, she should also have a hard time restraining herself w/ him and that is clearly not the case.

Regarding RS, I think that something is going to go down that he has not spoiled or was wrong about. It almost seems like MF had a plant to feed RS bad info that maybe he came upon while violating his settlement. We shall see. Maybe Emily is going to be like Jason (I think it was him) and change her mind about her decision. It may be the most intersting part of this sleepy season. And really, Roberto???? Can they at least start putting in some fresh faces instead of all of the cast offs just for a break. I think I am finally going to be able to stop watching this trainwreck. Entirely too boring and increasingly more produced, fake seeming if that is even possible.

  21. aatex

    July 10, 2012 at 6:43 AM

Seriously folks? What you’re suggesting is entrapment… Fleiss wasn’t egging RS on to get him to Tweet. The issue is so far above a random tweet.

Even though I agree with the “lovers” who are out in spades today, and I think Fleiss is a lowballer… I also agree with the guy. Who wants to put so much money and time in a show only to have it spoiled by a disrespectful PUNK who lies, cheats and steals? He’s trying to protect his turf and his staffers, and their families. If any of you worked on the series, you’d be singing a different tune and trying to protect what’s yours.

I also believe that the percentage of viewers that actually want to know the ending of a reality show is very small. And as I’ve totally had it with Crackle… I’m back to Fb and you lovers can continue to pour money into RS’ defense button.

  22. nobody1

    July 10, 2012 at 7:04 AM

What exactly is Fleiss trying to protect? It is a widely known fact that spoilers are NOT hurting viewership, and they never have.

Say there were 7.5 million viewers for last nights show. Out of this 7.5 million, how many of these viewers do you feel check the internet regularly for spoilers? A few thousand is a good estimate. Of this few thousand, how many of them will still tune in to watch how things play out? Maybe 90% or better? So instead of getting 7.5 million viewers, he gets 7.4999 instead? How is that hurting his show? It isn’t.

The point I’m making is Fleiss is running his mouth and spouting out a bunch of bull shit about how RS (and other spoiler sites) are hurting his show when that couldn’t be further from the truth. And no, I’m not defending RS, I’m just pointing out how big of a jerk off piece of shit Fleiss is.

So I ask again, what exactly is that annoying ass hole trying to protect?

  23. aatex

    July 10, 2012 at 7:12 AM

Those who talk don’t know, and those who know, don’t talk.

You figure it out. Except it sounds like you already have… I think Fleiss and RS are equals in the asshole department, so no argument there.

It’s simple, he doesn’t want his show spoiled, and his biggest, childish target is RS.

  24. liz123

    July 10, 2012 at 7:39 AM

Well, to me, all the Fleiss versus RS stuff is stupid & silly. They’re both childish jerks in my book & they both have valid arguments for their stance. May the biggest douche win.

@needabachintervention, I don’t see how Jef’s “massive family estate” could seal the deal with him over Arie when Arie’s family obviously has an equally massive estate. Your argument doesn’t make much sense to me. Also, a quick Google search would show you that Emily’s net worth is more than Jef’s net worth by (I think) almost double, so people saying it’s his money that made her choose them are lacking some basic information that nullifies their argument. Also, I totally disagree that she doesn’t have passion with Jef that she has with Arie. I think she has both passion & a deep connection with Jef whereas with Arie she only has passion. She even said herself in last night’s episode that she loved kissing him, but didn’t really know much else about him- didn’t know what a typical day was like for him, didn’t know what time he got up in the am, etc. It seems she’s had all those conversations with Jef already. I knew a lot of men in my life that I liked to make out with, but that wasn’t going to sustain our relationship for very long & I think she’s seeing that.

  25. ev81

    July 10, 2012 at 7:45 AM

I understand many of you think Fleiss is a royal jagoff, but at the end of the day, if what he is alluding to is true, Steve is the most arrogant and stupid individual there is for thinking he could get away with it. He dogged a bullet once (after having his fans pay his legal fees for HIS mistakes), yet he knowingly violated the settlement HE signed..I do not feel bad for him in any way.

  26. needabachintervention

I don’t think you can really compare a nice family home in Scottsdale to a several hundred acre compound in that part of Utah. Living in CO and having previously lived in Scottsdale, I know first hand what the values are and that kind of property in Utah is worth $$$$$. He has a ready made compound and a zillion siblings, etc for a built in family for her.IMO, Jef is just the safer bet for her. Between the ridiculous clothing allowance and the plastic surgery and her horse teeth veneers that she is constantly licking because they are too big for her mouth and the botox for her forehead, she needs a ton of money for her appearance alone. Once you get used to things taking a step backward is usually not an option. She is not as innocent as people think she is. One F Jef has himself a nice chunk of change already and can most definitely be an equal in a lifestyle she has grown used to. Not sure that at this time that Arie would be a financial equal or provide the same $$$$$$ for her high end life style. That said, Jef does seem like a nice guy but I just do not see the kind of chemistry that people “hopelessly” in love have for one another. They seem like a manufactured tv story that is lacking in the genuine chemistry that people in love have. Jef will see it too once he watches her all over Arie. A Jef- Arie blend is what she needs but in the end I don’t think either will really fit the bill for Miss Emily.

As to some kind of “shock” coming from AFR – yeah, like Fleiss and ABC hasn’t pulled THAT shtick before only for it to turn out to be uneventful and/or RS got it right. That being said, given Fleiss’ incredibly juvenile and senseless venting, my sense is he’s just waiting to see what Steve comes out with and any “shock” coming at AFR will be “created” just before broadcast. Given this franchise, it could be anything – Emily calls off the engagement (if there is one anyway since the previews for the finale show absolutely nothing with one-on-one proposals at some kind of magical gazebo, beach circle, etc.), Emily wants to still re-date one or two of the castoffs again, Emily backs out because she developed feelings for Chris H. once he announced his divorce…..I mean, endless possibilities that, even three months later, end up reversing themselves as hoaxes.

If Fleiss’ has been creating false plants to get to Steve, I’d say Steve has been pretty sharp in deflecting them. Let’s face it – he’s not exactly been as clinically precise in his episode by episode breakdowns as he has been the last few years. He reveals a “winner” last week but provides no details on how it comes to be. In that sense, Fleiss’ still has as much on RS as he would that childish forum site that keeps ragging RS about how they “knew” the winner weeks ago citing a “reliable source”. Of course, Fleiss isn’t trying to sue them because they probably don’t look quite as sexy on Google Analytics as Steve’s site (an “exhibit” that was presented during the pre-trial process.)

In any case, Fleiss has come off as a complete bozo the last couple of days and, in fact, I saw piles of tweet responses (including one I threw up myself) far more of which were critical of his statements than supportive. I don’t know the exact nature of the agreement that terminated the case but I am fairly certain that RS, even with the “tips” he’s provided this season, did not commit any “tortious interference” this time which was the crux of the case. Fleiss’ getting some dupe to get e-mail from Steve is ridiculous and almost unprovable in court since, most importantly, I highly doubt Steve would have been crazy enough to offer money for info again like he did with those three Ben girls. In fact, since the production companies pointed out their “confidentiality agreements” with production staff and contestants, Steve could easily argue that the “dupe” would be violating his/her own agreement with the producers and, as such, the producers should be suing them instead of Steve since Steve has some of the protections afforded journalists in general when it comes to reporting.

Whatever the case, I’m actually a little happy with Fleiss’ new sub-baby douchiness coming out. Let’s be real here – Emily’s season has been a crashing bore. Ratings have certainly affirmed this. The tweet war (one-sided really because Steve has barely waded into it) has been the best part of it. Quite honestly, Fleiss would be better off getting the leaks out there. The crappy, and repetitive, writing is best off-set by all the viewers interested in seeing if Steve’s information is correct. I mean, geez, almost as fun as Steve’s wrap-up columns were Aaaaaaaashley Spiiiiiiiivey’s live tweet-fasts but even those got killed this season when she was hired as another of the army of blog writers for the show’s web site.

ABC should thank Steve though for the BP3 spoilers. I think I’ve been eagerly waiting for that one since his first column on the subject came out. Kalon and Lindzi????? GOLD, man! Pure gold! 🙂

exactly my thoughts…..”may the biggest douche win.”

Reality Steve and Mike Fleiss are the epitome of douchey — although Fleiss actually has money and success and Steve is just a wannabe.

I think it seems very obvious that she’s going to pick Jef. She can actually see a life with him and I think they seem to be more in sync when in comes to the rhythm of their lives.

Much of finding The One is about timing and both being at the right place emotionally and in maturity. Her and Jef seem to be a fit in that respect. Plus….he makes her laugh. That’s huge.

The connection with Arie seems to be about kissing and nothing deeper. Plus, is it just me or does the guy look stoned at all times? I agree that he’s cute and sexy, but he has a permanent half in the bag look to him at all times.

  30. Sunnyside422

    July 10, 2012 at 8:47 AM

Made me laugh! I too thought Arie had a certain look about him, but I thought it was the look of someone who has just exited the bedroom after a very satisfying romp! And he is certainly practiced in that regard.

Also believe the substance and permanence is with Jef. He will afford a stable life and for sure Ems will know exactly where he will be each night…home or out with her and their children. With Arie, I’d be thinking about how many pit groupies he is toying with around the racing circuit. She has been part of that with Rick so probably is well aware of the temptations.

Having said all that, I think Arie and Jef are good buddies and got along better than any of the guys with each other cause they are fun loving and full of adventure. I don’t dislike Arie (wish he’d do something about his bad skin eruptions, though) and he’d be a good, fun guy to hang out with and date…for a time. Not a long term type of guy…I believe.

Why is everyone not calling out the other spoiler sites as well? Specifically the Fan Forum? They all have posted Jef as F1, but they are faceless and cowardly with their spoilers, no one knows who they are. Why don’t they start their own blog as well? I think we all know the answer to that one now don’t we.

I just think RS is getting too much of a bashing here. And Fleiss, seriously, Is this bullying part of their agreement? I would think not.

  32. penguinfan01

    July 10, 2012 at 8:49 AM

I have a thought, and I wonder if the snake, Mike fleece is talking about RS violating his agreement when he had the screener last Thursday, he said was from the Bachelor family. I wondered about that myself, because RS told us according to his agreement, that he is not allowed to contact anyone from the show (meaning past or present I’m sure). RS kept saying that the screener was someone from the Bachelor family. So I think this is what snake Fleiss is referring to. Steve just needs a bull dog lawyer to get Fleece off of his back. This sounds like harassment to me, and it is in writing for all to see. Go get him Steve.

I wish Steve would be silent with regards to Fleiss thus making this jerk look even worse than he is. the sound of silence can be effective. How infantile can Fleiss be!? Boy RS has really gotten under his skin in a bad way. Seems MF can’t or won’t quit the hate on for Steve.

Just because Jef isn’t all over Emily, doesn’t mean he has less chemistry with her than Arie. If all people see is that making out with Arie gives him the upper hand on the chemistry meter, they obviously haven’t had too many boyfriends.
Girl’s not going to push away all that make out time seeing as Arie is pretty hot, she’s in front of cameras as well and she’s not going to turn him down. But it just hurts him in the end because instead of having deep meaningful conversations (I’m sure they’ve had those, just not as much as with Jef) plus some lovey dovey time, it’s all hot making out time! Not making best use of the miniscule amount of time they have to get to know each other and be remotely considered as husband and father material. Jef is playing it smarter. He might just not be the PDA type because they’re surrounded by cameras. Who knows what kind of chemistry they have behind closed doors. Some guys are just like that. We really cannot judge based on what they show on this show.

Fleiss is an idiot. Dude needs to go talk to Damon Lindelof/Carton Cuse about how to run a show with a large chunk of your base that is in to spoilers. In case you wonder why I mention them, it is because they ran “Lost”, and beleive me, they did not treat the segment of their base who loved spoilers, or the people who put them out there so poorly. They embraced it.

In fact, they often did interviews and made veiled comments about them because they knew that it was the rabid section of hte base that was into it. And the fact is, you want a large chunk of your base to be rabid.

Fleiss needs to take a class in Media Relations 101–people actually talking about your show is a good thing. And people wanting the inside dirt is a great thing. Means people care enough to seek it out, and they will keep watching. He needs to check himself because he cooks his own goose.

Gingerbear: I so agree with all you posted. Jef is a considerate and thoughtful young man who puts Emily’s feeling and welfare first. He knows he is on TV and knows enough to respect her as well as every family member he referenced in his FS declination. Of course he’d have loved to be alone with her and was smart enough to realize they will have the rest of their lives to (as he so sweetly put it) have their own FS.

Jef so impresses me and has from the beginning. He will be 28 in a few weeks and he is far more mature than his looks imply. If I had a daughter, I’d hope she would find someone this special.

Yes, Fleiss went a bit too far with his tweets, but I think he had finally just had enough of Steve. And I agree with Ics85 that there’s more to this than what it seems. Steve lost credibility with me when initially he wasn’t exactly truthful about not offering $$ to former contestants. Don’t care about offering $$, but he lied about it. He later “justified” that he wasn’t really lying, but it’s all semantics. Come on people – even if you like Steve, you have to admit he had become increasingly pompous and rude. And very often directed towards the peeps who made his site sucessful. He wasn’t like that in the early days. Sarcastic yes, but not arrogant and rude. He seemed to calm done a little when asking for donations to his lawsuit defense fund, but went back to his arrogant self after the settlement. You would think after having gone through the stress of the lawsuit, he would have been a little more laid back in his attitude, but no. He was practically thumbing his nose at ABC; especially in the last couple of days. Steve was just as immature as Fleiss. His recent Scrabble pic showing “Fleiss Loves Me” is just one example.

I think the timing of the first batch of Fleiss’ tweets on Sat, and then Steve suddenly having the finale spoilers on Sun is odd, but it also shows Steve as being hell-bent on being “defiant” to ABC after the Twitter war. Plus, I think Steve not being able to find out the ending this season was driving his ego crazy. He should have just let it go. His own cockiness finally did him in.

Spoilers DO get out. They aren’t just left here on his website. Times have changed. It used to be only those who intentionally came to this website would find out spoilers. Now people retweet, repost, etc, and spoiler info gets out. It does affect those who don’t want to know. I like to know spoilers, but I respect the fact that some people don’t. I don’t think there would have been a problem if Steve had just quietly posted his spoilers, but that was impossible for his personality type.

@needabachintervention, according to the interwebs (hahaha!):

    Emily’s net worth: $5mil
    Arie Jr’s net worth: $2.5mil
    Jef’s net worth: $3mil

I’m not saying Jef’s family doesn’t have money. It’s obvious they do, but the Luyendyk family & Arie himself are certainly not hurting for money. They have much more than a “nice family home in Scottsdale” as you stated! Come on, seriously- Arie Sr is worth a measly $5mil!! I really don’t feel that money is the factor at play here or even a deciding one considering she’s worth more than both of them & there’s not a huge difference in their net worth. She would not be “taking a step back” with Arie!! I mean, none of this really matters, all I’m saying is that your argument doesn’t really make much sense when you look at the facts & at the net worth of each of the players here, you know?

    @ Liz – Is that Emily’s $$$ or the Hendrick’s?

Didn’t someone say that she went in with her dad with his company’s business? She is not book smart like Jef to make her own $$$ and have her own business. I’m curious to if she even went to college or has a degree.

I think he’s not allowed to contact the Bach family for spoilers. I don’t think the agreement restricts him for contacting them at all. I think it’s only related to spoilers? I could be wrong.

Also, isn’t it possible Fliess is doing all this twitter activity to keep the show in the press? I know everyone thinks he’s juvenile…but, almost all the posts here have stirred up conversation about him and the show. Bad press is still press. I think he knows exactly what he’s doing.

I was just wondering if RS’s facebook page has been gone for a while? I just went to go check it and couldn’t find it any more.

@JovisMom, according to sources that is Emily’s money not the Hendrick’s family. The Hendricks family is worth $200mil- much, much more than Emily! I’ve also read that Ricki Hendrick’s was worth $15mil when he died, so maybe he left Emily some of that since they were living together or maybe he had a big life insurance policy that Emily was the beneficiary of.

I’ve been following these posts for years, and have been an ardent and vocal supporter of RS for just as long. Like many of you, I would have probably lost interest in this insipid show a long time ago had it not been for this blog…and I’ve been a fan back when he was doing nothing more than his smart-ass recaps.

As much as it pains me to say this, as I feel like I’m betraying an old friend of sorts, I do have to agree with Onetulip: I have noticed a change in Steve this past year, where he’s become more defensive and short with us, a “screw-you” attitude of sorts. For instance, I recall when some people criticized Steve for wasting time on one of the live blogs for drinking water and feeding Maddie, and his response was, “F*** You!”, basically. Although that time spent was a small fraction of the entire video blog, as he countered, his reaction was harsh. Many of us have difficulty finding that much uninterrupted time to watch his Vblogs to begin with, so to finally sit down only to wait on him feeding his dog seemed self-centered and silly. As much as I love you, Steve, I believe that’s where those criticisms were coming from.

MF is making hasty, ill-informed, ego-driven decisions without seeing the bigger picture. If he took a poll of viewers like us, he’d see that Steve’s blog KEPT viewers like me interested. Quite frankly, I STILL don’t watch the whole two hours: I fast-forward and only watch to see Steve vindicated each week.

Wow!!! Good grief I knew the Hendricks had money but not bank like that! I wonder why she was so demanding with her clothing allowance and how much she wanted for doing the show if she already so well off!

  45. liz123

@JovisMom, she demanded all that clothing budget & pay to do the show because that’s how rich people stay rich! 😉

I don’t know if she demanded that clothing budget, from what I read it sounded like thats just what they wanted to budget for her, and the costume dept (or whatever) got all excited about dressing her up, so I think they actually went over that. On what, who knows! But she also wore some of her own things.

@Jovis: “I wonder why she was so demanding with her clothing allowance and how much she wanted for doing the show if she already so well off!”

I’ve thought the same thing. Its well known she’s been living off the Hendrick’s dime and isn’t hurting for cash. So why make such a big deal about such a large clothing allowance? It easy, people like her can never have enough of anything. Everyone she has dumped so far doesn’t come close to having the kind of cash she is accustomed to, all except for Arie and Jef. Its more than mere coincidence they are the last two standing.

People can defend her all they want. I still say she’s a gold digging fame whore who no man will ever be able to please enough.

On another note, why does that woman have such a large forehead? She looks deformed…. especially with the large teeth.

  48. nobody1

    July 10, 2012 at 10:16 AM

@Missie: That would indicate ABC knew she was high maintenance and came up with the clothing allowance based on what they felt ‘her highness’ would demand.

@Fassero You mentioned Steve “barely waded into the Twitter war,” but it’s only because Steve was flying home at the time Fleiss was “going off,” and I doubt Steve was checking Twitter in-flight. He did check Twitter when he landed, and tweeted he didn’t know what Fleiss was referring to. I think at that point Steve was becoming uneasy with not knowing what was going on, and that’s why he didn’t tweet any just-as-immature replies. BUT he was just as engaging as Fleiss was in the Twitter war on Sat night, though. Both parties are immature.

I also think Fleiss’ supporters don’t feel the need to tweet replies, so that’s probably why you’re not seeing as many. I think RS supporters and Fleiss supporters are two different personality types.

@nobody1, I really don’t want to be mean, but you just honestly come off as very jealous. I can’t imagine anyone in their right mind totally denying that Emily is a pretty girl. You might not think she’s the most beautiful girl that every walked the face of the earth, but to say that she looks deformed seriously comes off as someone reaching (very far) to criticize someone due to jealousy. I definitely think she’s prettier without all the fake blond hair color & tons of make-up, but it’s undeniable that she is attractive. I’m sorry you feel the need to go so far as to call someone “deformed”. You saying that speaks more to what’s going on inside of you than what Emily looks like, to be honest.
