Bachelor Pad 3

The “Bachelor Pad” Recap Including the Latest on the Next Bachelor

Well that was better than I expected. We’ll get to all my thoughts on the finale in a little bit, but first some things to cover. Vegas was a blast. Best weekend I ever had there. Or should I say most profitable. Fun times. I’m almost scared to ever go back considering I’d be shocked if I ever have that good of luck at the tables again. Ha ha, who am I kidding? I’ll be back at some point. Probably sooner rather than later. And a huge shout out to Biscayne Steakhouse at the Tropicana Hotel for the excellent meal Saturday night. I’m a sucker for steakhouses. I love em’ all. Thanks to my contact Rich and Biscayne for great accommodations that night. Will definitely be going back there. Just don’t tell Shaun T I pigged out. I’ve only got a week left and my 60 days are complete. Wow.

Obviously one of the biggest things on people’s minds is when the “Bachelor” announcement coming. The producers, Chris Harrison, and Fleiss have literally been teasing for over a month “you’ll get your answer soon,” yet still have said nothing is finalized. But remember, this is the norm. Emily was the only lead since they started recycling that was really announced very early (two months in advance). The last four Bachelors: Ben, Brad, Jake, and Jason, were all announced late in the process. Hell, Brad wasn’t “officially” announced by ABC until two days after he started filming. I can tell you now that filming has been pushed back a few days. The women will start arriving in LA on Friday Sept. 21st, and filming begins on Monday the 24th. So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if we still don’t hear an announcement until late this week or even in to next week.

And now that I know the first night is being filmed on Monday the 24th, which coincides with the DWTS premiere, it’s safe to say that whoever the Bachelor is, regardless of it’s already been made official before then or not, he’ll be in attendance for the premiere. I can’t see why he wouldn’t be. That show begins filming at 5PM PST. You bring him on there, introduce him as the next Bachelor, he watches the show, then gets in a car and heads to the mansion for his first night of meeting the ladies. We know on the first night the contestants don’t start arriving until around 10-11pm at night, so plenty of time for the Bachelor to make his appearance on DWTS then high tail it back to the mansion. So I fully expect to see that now.

Right now, I think I feel comfortable in saying that Roberto is out of the picture. Back in June, when Life & Style first reported he was set to be the next Bachelor, I hadn’t heard a thing about it. So once I saw the story, I made some calls, and I was told he was definitely gonna do it, so I confirmed it. Then Sean and Arie started picking up steam, and the Roberto stuff never seemed to be going anywhere by what I was told. He’s still a candidate, as many people are according to Chris Harrison, but from what I’ve been told in the last 24 hours, I feel pretty confident in saying it’s gonna be Sean. I would be shocked if it wasn’t. If it’s not Sean, then they will have deviated from the last eight seasons and gone completely off book and not gone with a recycled contestant. Right now, regardless of what they want to spin to the media and string people along with, Sean is the only former contestant right now who’s under serious consideration. And since Fleiss has stated publicly at least three times that they can’t see themselves going back to the days where they cast someone nobody knows, I’d say Sean is gonna be it. I do not know what happened with the Roberto negotiations. If I can find anything out, I’ll let you know. They wanted him badly in June, but I have no idea what happened after that.

Sean has his fans, Sean has his haters. Roberto has his fans, Roberto has his haters. Arie has his lunatics, Arie has his haters. A new Bachelor will have his fans, a new Bachelor will have his haters. No matter what they do, some people will love the choice, some people will hate it, and some people will be neutral. No different than the previous 24 seasons. It’s the same show every season, just with different people. Nothing’s gonna change. Although Sean would definitely be the most religious person they’ve ever cast as the lead that’s for sure. And oh yeah, if Sean does get cast, I think I’m gonna share an interesting little story. Nothing scandalous, but definitely something fans of this show would like to hear. I personally think Sean would be the most different Bachelor they’ve ever cast. Not saying he’d be the best, just the most different. If I find something solid out, I’ll let you know.

@aogden Ever since Steve has been talking about Kalon “dating” other woman, I always kind of felt like it was probably Kalon hanging out with friends that were girls. Just the way Steve phrased it made it seem as if Kalon wasn’t allowed to have female friends now that he is dating Lindzi.

Steve confirmed on twitter that Bach producers are filming at Sean’s house. Boo hoo

I just don’t understand what’s the point of having spoilers if they’re wrong. Wasn’t Steve so sure it was going to be Roberto? Seems like he lost his sources and he’s grasping at straws here.

Nick’s a prick; not because he chose “keep”, but because of his smugness.
His “speech” showed how insecure he is.

Just watched the finale. I knew what happened but here are my thoughts. What in holy hell was Jamie wearing? OMG – the first thing I thought of was “Genie in a Bottle”. I try not to judge people but that was horrific. And wasn’t it obvious to anybody that didn’t kno the ending that Nick won the money after kept showing the same clip over and over of Rachel demanding to talk to somebody and calling that person an ass? And finally, Nick played a great game. He won fair and square – he didn’t owe anybody anything. If this was “Survivor” noboby would be bitchn’. Just sayin….

I think the person who said Nick has a lack of confidence is way off. The people who have a lack of confidence are the ones who put him down to build themselves up…Jaclyn, Rachel, etc.

c103..RS has always had a jealousy problem with quite a few male cast members over the years. It’s not just Arie.

Well I can pretty much predict the new “Bachlelor” will not be Sean. My little Cajun beauty was flown to LA for the final interviews as she made the final 50 cut. Unfortunately, she was not chosen and was told it was due to the fact she was not compatible with the future “Bachelor”. She would be a perfect choice for Sean all around and had personally picked him on his season. Their Catholic views are spot on as a couple. Anxious to see and if it is him, we will be disappointed and will also have concerns as to what the cast and show are really looking for in a true match. If it is not Sean, the show may make more sense to us. It has been a long and worthwhile process. Proud of my southern bell making it as far as she did. She is a very special young lady.

Happy5, sorry to tell you but RS confirmed the new Bachelor IS indeed Sean. Keep in mind the producers cast for entertainment, not compatibility. Your friend or whoever she is to you was probably not entertaining enough in their eyes.

Well said and I totally get that even though they used the word compatibity. I will say my daughter would have brought some entertainment to the show as she is very engaging but definately no drama. I am happy for Sean and wish him well even though he will be missing a great opportunity to meet my very special daughter. The show must go on and I am an avid fan. Felt good to comment on the process. Thanks for your input. I truly believe the outcome was not in our hands and worked out for the best.

    FYI, Sean is not Catholic.

Wonder if RS will give us insight as to why Roberto was passed over. Was he asking too much moola? Could be Sean settled for a lot less and thus chosen. Or maybe Roberto decided he didn’t want to subject himself to the whole mess again. Bet Ali is relieved cause him rehashing their relationship would not reflect favorably on her and her desire to be a “star”.

Sorry but Sean will bore me. Never thought he was attractive at all. And we can get to watch his right eye only squint again. Strange.

Sorry happy5, I didn’t mean to sound negative saying she wouldn’t be entertaining. If anything it’s probably a testament to her character that she may not have been what they were looking for. She may have dodged a bullet not being casted! I hope you both enjoy the season.

Laughing at myself for even commenting. I’m recently retired with extra time on my hands. Just still in shock that my little girl from a very small town in Louisiana made it as far as she did. So close we thought she was actually cast. Have to say she took the news very well since she is such a happy go lucky kind of girl. But family and friends not so much. We wanted this so much for her. Just hope I can get over the rejection and somehow enjoy the show even though she wasn’t cast. Hahaha

What a sweet thing to say and you are exactly right! You just helped me feel better about their decision! And not feel so silly about commenting!! Thank you!!

Really Jamie what was that on your head? It looked like a bedazzled jock strap on her head! She was way too serious acting with Chris and it was just plain silly. Let it go already!

I did feel bad for Rachel but I think Nick did the right thing. I didn’t really like the gloating and if I had won, I still wouldn’t have gloated but I can also understand where he was coming fromt. They all were pretty nasty to him. The only ending I see for next time is both contestants choos KEEP and then the whole “pad” gets the money except the 2 contestants or at least I think that is how it goes. Other than that, I don’t see any other good endings. It won’t be the same here on out that is for sure!!!!!!!

Nick was brilliant and I didn’t even feel sorry for Rachel. I didn’t like her on the Bachelor and I didn’t like her on Bachelor Pad. If she honestly thought she could come as close as she did to forcing Nick out of the competition after MIchael left and he wouldn’t remember that, she’s incredibly stupid.

I have to admit that I would have kept the money too. It’s a game and all is fair…Rachel did nothing but moan and whine after Michael left and Ed and Jac thought they would win it all. He made a lot of points when explaining why he kept it for himself. She went on and on asking “Why” and he told her. I actually hate the way they make the show a “couples” theme. I remember in season one three or four girls were booted out just because they didn’t have partners yet the show was “represented” as a game show for a single winner.
