Bachelor Sean Spoilers

“Reader Emails,” Bachelor: Canada, Crazy Tweeters, & Pictures and Details from Sean’s 1-on-1 Date

Sometimes, I really enjoy what I do. I take that back, MOST of the time I enjoy what I do. There are few instances here and there where emailers and tweeters get on my nerves, but for the most part, I ignore them. However last night, I was bored and decided to have a little fun. A twitter exchange turned into an email exchange that I’m sure you’ll get a kick out of reading. I’ll get to that in a little bit. First, some things to go over.

Congrats go out to Jason and Molly for the announcement yesterday they are expecting their first child in March. For a couple that was the most hated couple on the planet when everything went down, good to see they made it through and are going strong. Good luck to them in the future.

I know I have a lot of Canadian readers, and when the “Bachelor: Canada” was first announced, plenty of you emailed and tweeted asking if I was gonna have spoilers and if I was gonna cover it. I said it then that the show is not on here in the states and I have no interest in covering it. I said it in emails, I said it in tweets, and I put it in columns. Well now that the show has officially started in Canada, I guess I need to repeat myself again. It’s not on here in the states, I’m not watching the show, I don’t have any interest in watching the show, I don’t even know the bachelors name, and I have zero information on it. So there. Hopefully that’ll put a slight stop on all the emails and tweets.

Speaking of Canada and this franchise, I forgot to include this link in Tuesday’s column. Former “Bachelorette” Jillian Harris did an interview with CBC and talked briefly about her time on the show, then got into her relationship now that she’s in. It’s not really anything terribly new that we’ve heard coming from this franchise (it’s stuff I’ve told you for years), but I think when it comes from me, a lot of you tend to have selective hearing, or it just goes in one ear and out the other. To hear it coming from someone who was not only a contestant on the show, but then became a lead, it’s refreshing to listen to. Click on this link, and then fast forward to the 54:45 mark to hear when Jillian starts talking about her experience, and how manipulated you can be, and what producers are feeding ALL the contestants during filming. If you didn’t ever believe me all the times I’ve told you, maybe you’ll believe Jillian who was actually there. Twice.

As for Ben and Courtney’s break up, there really isn’t much to talk about. If you haven’t seen, each of them have spoken to different outlets. Ben gave his first words about the breakup to In Touch Magazine, and Courtney spoke with Reading those two sides, is there really any more to say? Each of them looks to be taking the high road and it looks like they just went their separate ways. I haven’t heard anything differently, and I seriously doubt any more dirt will be coming out of this, so, I guess people who were rooting for them will just have to live with those answers for now. God forbid Jef and Emily eventually give answers like that, there might be rioting in the streets. The crazies will demand something more juicy and detailed than “we just grew apart.” I almost feel sorry for those two because when they eventually do make their breakup announcement, nothing they say will be good enough for some people. Just get it over and done with so I don’t have to listen to all the idiocy flying around right now.

I hope Jef says yes, for no other reason than to make Emily sit through 2 months of watching ‘what if’, just like wonder boy Brad did.

Know nothing about Emily other than what she let us see, but imagine she’s high maintenance emotionally, and Jef is just laid back cool.

You know…I’ve been thinking about how big a hypocrite Emily is. I have always thought it but after finding out what she did at Jef’s parents summer house I really think it now. I mean c’mon…she’s been invited to come visit their house and then she has the nerve to sext another guy while she’s there with her fiance and with her daughter there too. It’s unbelievable really…
I imagine Jef is thinking like Brad right now and saying “I dodged a bullet”

Although I get called out every time I post screw it here goes. Can you say Drama Queen? Courtney is less a drama queen. At least she is spunky and interesting. Did you notice poor Emily has to stay home and do her Mom Stuff, can’t travel some place fab. Bet she traveled to the mall a few times today. Jef is off in La La California. The fans are holding vigil over at Jokers. Poor people need an intervention. But yanno I don’t blame them. They are addicts, I like that they admit it. The snobbier ones are tweeting over and over trying to get a morsel. Emily actually threw some crumbs their way tonight. Cat and mouse. I think these fans crazy or not, deserve an answer, they funded 5 wells, they are true and loyal. Out of their minds but even I feel for them and Im the bitch or one of em.. Give it up. Drama Mama. Nothing good is coming out of you dragging it out DO IT! Put TV fans out of their misery and let them get back to their families. If your stringing them a long for money..well they might not like that so much. IMHO. Congratulations to Jef on his new niece Nora!

I’ve never liked Plastic-Princess Emily from day one on Brad’s season & was even less impressed with her when she was the Bachelorette (but who can resist watching the trainwreck that is the B3 Franchise?). All I can say to Jef is congratulations for dodging the Barbie-Doll Bullet & best of luck to you in your future love life!

@ catj, shouldbeworking & Bill the Cat. I, too, have been watching Bachelor Canada and find it (unintentionally) hilarious! The dude in the Chris Harrison role has the personality of a funeral director (and a VERY log neck!); the bachelor is cute but incredibly lacking in personality; the ‘contestants’ are either (a) whiners, (b) wallflowers, (c) bitches, or (d) flat-out psychos.

That said, I have to admit that I’m impressed that the women actually look like women instead of 12-yr-old pre-pubescent boys! They have flesh on their bones! They have curves! Some of them have their own breasts! None of them, as far as I can tell, have had those ultra-bright, totally fake-looking veneers applied to their teeth (but a few of them *should* have at least had some zoom-whitening done – grey teeth are not a turn-on)!
The Canadian version follows the same production-manipulated format as the U.S. show.
We’ve got a virgin, we’ve got a single Mom (turfed in the second broadcast); we’ve got a couple of intellectually-challenged contestants; and, so far, we’ve got TWO villains:
    (1) Gabrielle – a rather homely woman if you ask me – who is rude & cranky, has the spookiest bulging eyes I’ve ever seen, and has zero chemistry with the Bachelor [I’m convinced she’s still around only because production wants her there]; and
    (2) Whitney, who should be wearing a tiara proclaiming her Queen Bitch, but who actually does have chemistry with the bachelor (poor sod – wonder if he’ll ever catch on).
Yup, I’m gonna keep watching, because it’s so bad that it’s good.

Judge says, “Casting decisions are protected by the First Amendment” in response to the discrimination case brought against ABC.

bfw, everything I read indicates Ben was checked out of the relationship a long time ago. Supposedly, she wanted to try and make it work, and he was a total pr*** to her, so that’s why I don’t think he could care less about Courtney and Arie.

Plus, don’t you think it’s more like Arie and Courtney put their heads together and thought of a way to grab some media interest? I think they set the whole thing up including calling the media to let them know where they were that evening. I think the whole thing was a set-up for the media, and possibly a way for Courtney to stick it to Ben.

What’s the deal with Barbie and 1F? I wonder why there’s been no announcement? I know I’ve said this a lot, but poor little Ricki. I sure hope that little girl has some stronger, smarter female role models in her life. All she’s going to learn from mom is shopping and how to playt men.

@karynr..there won’t be an announcement until ABC decides it’s a good time to make one. They’re currently living the “drama” (ha!) of Courtney and Ben, and once that dies down, they’ll bring on the “drama” of Barbie and 1F.

My take on no announcement as I stated before: ABC/Fleiss don’t want the announcement to come on the heels of Benjie and Skanky’s failed-for-publicity relationship.

All these inspirational messages tweeted by both Jef and Emily tell the story and confirmation is not necessary. They are done.

It also appears that Emily is no longer following Jef on twitter!… I would say the announcement is moments away!

I have to ask? Why Jef publicly humiliated his brother?

  12. Sunnyside422

    October 16, 2012 at 9:34 AM

Could be as simple as Mike has caused family turmoil in the past and left Jef with feelings of intense dislike for him. Also could be brother Mike is a bit jealous of his younger brother’s popularity, looks, earning potential, etc. thus Mike had to speak out on the altercation between Emily and Jef…if indeed it went down as such. We might never know as I doubt Emily will confess to her transgressions and Jef might just be glad she is in his past.

@ Fanofsteve & the other BC watchers – I agree about the women – a breath of fresh air & some real (non-plastic / non plastic) gals, eh? I thought it was a kick bringing preacher gal into the burlesque (out of her comfort zone here!) club to ‘perform’. Just as much of a train wreck as the US version – just some differences that make it look ‘cheaper’ than the us version – but really – when you think about it – the US ver is just as cheap – we are just used to seeing it as normal. It’s worth the hassle of finding it & downloading. (No – I’m not in Canada – I’m in Florida – state of ignorance. Actually 3 miles from the Hooters Vienna worked at! (It’s across the street from the Goat Ranch wing of Seminole Farms. No kidding!)

The Arie/Courtney thing is two attention whores extending their 15 minutes. I think it was shitty of them to date so early/publicly though… Ben was out with this guy not long ago and bragging him up to be the next bachelor, so yeah, kinda dirty, IMO.

@ Sunnyside422 – I just read your comment about possibly ABC going after Jef to be the next Bach….OMG I hope he says no as well only b/c I can not stand that guy!! He is unattractive and not very interesting. I will absolutely not watch if that happens!! YUCK!

While I’m not surprised that Steve was right about Jef/Emily, I have to admit that I’m disappointed. I’m not one of the crazed Jemily fans, but I liked the vibe they had together – (ok, mainly I liked his quirkiness). I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed her season. She ended up having more personality than I expected. Bottom line – I was rooting for them, even when the texting issue came to light. I was more disappointed to hear about Jef’s thing with Kaylee. I was hoping he’d be the good guy!

I watched the show occasionally in the early days (I quite liked Andrew Firestone’s season then stopped watching for a while). I started watching more regularly when Jillian was on the Bachelor, b/c I worked with someone who was a friend of hers. And now I’m hooked. I love the drama – all of those bachelors and bachelorettes behaving badly. And I find all of the cliches, etc hilarious. Seriously – since when do you find so many reasonably attractive 20-somethings who have given up on love? Afraid to let down their guard? Give me a break. But as the show progresses, I find myself getting drawn into the various relationships that form and the ‘characters’ you get to know.

Is anyone watching Revenge? I was distracted for a minute on Sunday night. Who was the woman that left the voice message on the cell phone that belonged to the white haired guy? Was she the same woman at the Pine Crest hotel that called the police to verify the fake cop? Sorry… I’m not so good at remembering names!!

  18. randais

    October 17, 2012 at 7:52 AM

@should, that was my take; the woman at the hotel. Clearly they have a connection, and the plot thickens!

ANNNNND it’s official, Kathie Lee and Hoda announced this am they are officially broken up……Jemily, that is. We were all just waiting for that confirmation weren’t we “eye roll”. Can we now move on?

  19. colonlc10

    October 17, 2012 at 9:38 AM

@Randais and shouldbeworking………….I saw in the credits that Jennifer Jason Leigh is on Revenge so I’m thinking the woman at the hotel was her (although she had glasses on I think if I remember correctly) or that she is going to end up being Emily’s real mom since I don’t think she is dead………………..what do you think about that? And I love me some Nolan…….they need to stop beating up my Noaln. He cracks me up………..always has a sarcastic something to say! :O)

  20. randais

    October 17, 2012 at 1:15 PM

Yes, Nolan is one of my favs too. His character is sarcastic, witty and hilarious. How about his new “assistant” (is that her title?)?….She seems like she will fall into the same humorous category, at least based on her character, so far.

So someone, clarify for me, we saw the flashback of Vicky getting on the plane and getting a warning to get off…did I miss what happened after that?

  21. colonlc10

    October 17, 2012 at 2:13 PM

Yeah I’m confused about that too………I guess she got the warning and then got off but I’m not sure how it all went down. I’m annoyed with Ashley and I want her to go away. What a scumbag good ol’ dad is too! And I knew Emily had a thing with (crap I gorgot his name) the guy that was training with her in I think Japan. I want to know about that part. Each week this show keeps me on the edge of my seat wanting more. I don’t care for faux amanda! Yeah Nolan’s new “assistant” the CFO actually seems like she can give it and take it so I’m hoping she has some good parts coming up with Nolan. I love that guy, crazy freak that he is!!!!

  22. colonlc10

    October 17, 2012 at 2:14 PM

    UGH, FORGOT not gorgot………………LOL!

  23. randais

    October 17, 2012 at 5:43 PM

Oh yeah, Emily’s new “hero”…cute too. Looking forward to seeing where they take him. It’s a great show, head and shoulders above the sorry excuse for the show commonly know as the “Bachelor/ette”… I actually look forward to watching Revenge :D.
