“Dr. Reality Steve,” & The Most Negative Batch of “Reader Emails” Regarding a Season That I Can Remember

Been doing this a long time. This is the 24th of 26 seasons that I’ve been writing episode recaps for the “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette.” Now granted, the show is much more popular now than it was back in 2003 with the advent of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, tabloid shows and magazines, etc, but I can honestly say I’ve never seen/heard/read this much disdain from fans for a particular season as I’m hearing for Desiree’s. Holy crap. Just read the “Reader Emails” this week. I think outside of one email, nobody has anything good to say, some to the point of being downright angry and bothered by every breath Desiree and her guys breathe. Never seen such disgust and negativity towards a season of this show since I’ve been covering it. I mean, you’ll see for yourself when you read these emails how many people don’t seem to care for Des, her guys, or both. Really weird. I mean, I think it’s a weak cast as well, but it never crossed my mind people would be this turned off by it. There are 3 re-occurring themes in this week’s emails:

1. Please tell me Jef Holm isn’t going to be the Bachelor
2. This season is boring as sh**
3. Who’s going to be the next Bachelor out of this group, if any?

Over and over and over and over. Not sure why this kicked in on Week 5 with everybody, but it sure did. Crazy. So here we go, enjoy your emails…

Reality Steve,

I was reading the profiles of the men on Abc’s website (I know, I know, I should get a life). I saw that Zak W graduated with a masters in humanities, but his job is an engineer? Am I missing something? I wasn’t aware that a humanities degree qualified someone to be an engineer. Any insight?

Comment: None whatsoever. Until you told me, I didn’t have a clue he had a masters in humanities – whatever that is.

Couple of questions for you:

1. Have you soured on Dez a little bit more since the show began and/or when you got your spoilers. You mock everyone and you did say you were “fine” with Dez when they were casting for the next Bachelorette. You just seem to be a bit more snide with Dez than past leads. Am I reading a little too much into this?

2. Is Mikey one of those guys who they encourage Dez to keep around for as long as possible because he makes for “better” (with better being a relative term) TV? Seems there are some guys/girls who hang in until the final 7 or 8 purely for comic reasons…

3. Also might just be me, or are they portraying some of these guys as extra gay/bromance? I mean the pouting between Mikey/Michael, the sourness towards Ben, all the dumb poems, love songs, speedos, cowboy outfits. Just seems to me they are making these guys out to be overtly either sensitive, effiminate hetrosexuals etc…?

Comment: 1) Soured on her? Not really. I just don’t think there’s much there to work with. Her rags-to-riches story got old after the first 15 minutes of episode 1, and she isn’t a polarizing lead, neither in a good or bad way. She’s just kinda there. Either people loved Emily, or they hated her. There was no in between. But there certainly were talking about her. She was a polarizing character. People had a definite opinion on Ali and Ashley as well. Des? I just don’t see much there that people care about.

2) Mikey was filler, plain and simple. He never had a chance of being the final guy, but was entertaining enough to not go home on the first night.

3) Seems to be the running theme from most fans I’ve heard from this season. Can’t say I disagree.

I know you don’t read the tweets on the screen, neither do I actually. However my 13 year old daughter caught one the other night that I thought was hilarious. When Des and Brad were sitting on the beach with that cool sand castle bench behind them there was a tweet from Jaclyn Swartz that said “Brad should ditch Des and find the girl that build that sandcastle”. That was pretty freaking funny. But I’m still not going to read the tweets and they still annoy me on the screen. I think she only saw it because they were completely unable to talk to each other so we were extra bored.

We enjoyed your live tweeting by the way. My kids get stuck watching part of it with me and they only like the parts you make fun of. When you don’t live tweet we spend the whole time trying to guess what you might say the next day. My husband is concerned that we have replaced him with you. I tried to tell him that you are just funnier than him and he will have to get used to it. He LOVES it when I tell him sports tidbits that I got from you. (OK, it makes him more jealous of you, but it makes me laugh!)

Thanks for the entertainment!

Comment: I’m glad that I’m causing friction in married households now. Awesome. Tell your man no need to be jealous. I’m harmless. I think.

I live tweeted the first 3 episodes. Didn’t live tweet two weeks ago, and I think had 3 tweets for this past Monday. It’s just too time consuming when I have to take notes as well. I’m barely ever looking at the TV when I live tweet, so I decided to basically eliminate it, or only do it during a commercial break.

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m a little disappointed there won’t be another Bachelor Pad season anytime soon. Even without all the suspense that Nick injected into the final decision segment, the cast of characters they could throw together now is pretty top notch. I’m thinking Michael and Ben or Kasey and James from this season would be good (then again it could end up as nothing like Crazy-Hair Craig vs. The Weatherman did in Season one). Also from this season they could invite Brian and Stephanie, I’m sure they’d be willing. From Sean’s season Tierra (and her sparkle) is an obvious choice. For some real fun they could bring on Ben, Arie, AND Courtney. Any others you can think of? I only started watching during Ali’s season so I’m not too familiar with anyone from before that.

Comment: If they got the right people to commit, absolutely they could pull it off again. It’s just a matter if the higher ups at ABC want it anymore. I honestly don’t know if Fleiss is blowing smoke up all our asses when he says they’re trying to bring it back next summer, or, if he’s just posturing and there’s no way it’s coming back.

I think another problem they might have is the stigma attached to the show. As many people as you think would make good characters and potential hookups, that doesn’t necessarily mean they want to do it. Plenty have turned it down in the past because of the image it portrays.

Ratings be damned, this season is great because Des is making out with everyone. That’s what I love about this show: It’s such a hilariously trashy concept. One hot girl or one hot guy totally sluts it up, ostensibly in search of love, but really not at all. Personally, I’m really happy that a girl is stepping it up and not letting the dudes have all the fun. Des is the best bachelorette because she totally gets what the show is about.

Comment: Wow. I think this is the one and only email in this week’s batch that has a positive thing to say about Des and her season.

Hey Steve,

First, thanks for being awesome. I love your blog and all of the editing details that you draw attention to each week, as well as the ridiculousness of this franchise.

So my question is this: why doesn’t the show, after 10 years of essentially failed relationships, change things up a bit?

Let me explain: The show is taped in two months, you (usually) spoil the ending before the first show even airs – so why don’t they have the lead narrow his/her choice down to two people during the two month taping, and while the show is airing for three months, have the lead continue to date the two remaining people in private and then do a live proposal/rose ceremony instead of ATFR? I know this would take away a lot from your blog, but it might help the rate at which the contestants/puppets stay together.

I’m sure you will think “they’ll never change the show format because it is tried and tested,” but still thought I would share my idea.

I hope this never happens because I love knowing who “wins” before the show even begins thanks to you!

Thanks for your time and have a great weekend!

Comment: People have asked this numerous times, and the answer is simple. In this day and age, in 2013, it’d be impossible for the lead to date two people while the show is airing, and them NOT be seen and it be spoiled. Not a chance. When they did it with Charlie’s season, that was before FB, Twitter, Instagram, and really before texting was so popular. They just wouldn’t be able to hide it, so that’s why it isn’t done.

Dear Reality Steve,

What would it take for you to audition to be a contestant on the next season of the Bachelorette? I think it would be hilarious for Mike Fleiss to get an audition video with you on it…it would probably just piss him off, which would be hilarious. Even funnier if you actually were a contestant (well, it would be funny for the viewers, at least).

I’d be up for donating to get an awesome casting video made for you.

Take care and thanks for all the hilarious blog entries.

Comment: This has been brought up 1,000 times, and my answer is always the same: They would never want me on the show, nor would I ever be interested in being on the show. I have no interest in ever being on a reality TV show. Not my thing. Not to mention, if I’m on the show, then obviously I can’t blog about it, so what would the point of that be? No thanks. I’d much rather sit back and spoil it than be on it. They wouldn’t ever have me, and I’d never want to. Simple as that.

Hi Steve,

I am a long time fan of your blog and appreciate all you have gone through to keep your blogs and the spoilers coming to us.

I have a quick question. Jef seems to be “campaigning” to be the next bachelor. Please tell me there is not a chance he is even being considered and do you know why he is no longer involved with People Water?

I hope you bring back the videos soon. They were so much fun especially the “special guests” you would have on! You are a great uncle and I hope you will become a Dad someday.

Comment: Jef Holm has ZERO chance of being the next “Bachelor.” Kinda hard when most of the producers of this show can’t stand the guy, know that he’s an opportunist, and are fully aware of the numerous amount of women he’s been with since the show has ended, quite a few of which aren’t even of legal drinking age. It wouldn’t be the least bit believable to cast him as the lead.

But hey, if by some miracle it happened, ho-lee crap there’d be a boatload of women lining up to share their stories about the guy from when he was last on. And it wouldn’t be pretty.

Hi Reality Steve, so what was the deal with the matching outfits tonight between Ben and Mathew? Are they part of the Chris Harrison Douche Collection?

Comment: You mean Michael? There is no Matthew on this season. Yeah, that was pretty bizarre that they wore the same outfit on the 2-on-1 date. You’d think once they saw each other, at least one would go change or something. Could you imagine if during a “Bachelor” season, the two women on the 2-on-1 had the same outfit on? There’d be mass hysteria on set.

As many other people have said, this season of the Bachelorette is sort of a snooze, but the boredom is alleviated by your great commentary. I’ve watched parts of most episodes so far but usually turn on something else. Tonight I watched only the rose ceremony. I’ll catch up with your post tomorrow to see what happened.

Anyway, my first question is whether any of the Bachelor/ette shows from the past (or present) stand out in your mind as being especially boring? I know you are now in the business of commenting on them all, so you have to watch them if you want to keep that up. But are there any that you wish you would have skipped entirely, or that made you want to quit your job?

Comment: Not that I can think of, no. You’re right. They all kinda run together for me. Lets say you were to show me a picture of someone who went home in episode 3 of Brad’s first season and asked me, “Who’s this?,” there’s probably a good chance I wouldn’t know. But if you were to show me a picture of any of Sean’s girls, I could tell you their first and last name still.

Love the blog! If it wasn’t so I could read your recaps, I’d have checked out of this particular Bachelorette snoozefest….err, I mean season!

A few times now you have alluded to Drew’s more interesting ‘back story’ when talking about who the next Bachelor might be. I’ve looked but can’t find this back story. There is nothing noteworthy in his bio? So what’s the story that makes Drew a bit more ‘interesting’ than other contenders for the spot?

And here’s where I’m really confused lol. Brooks busted his finger and next thing I know, Michael has HIS finger all bandaged up?! Not sure what I missed and when (like I said, it’s been a snoozefest…) but I am curious as to what happened with Michael’s finger??

Comment: It was in his intro video in the first episode. His father is a recovering alcoholic, and he has a mentally handicapped sister. And the ABC press release for next week also states that he tells Des his dad has cancer.

According a WetPaint story I read this week, Michael injured his thumb during the dodgeball date as well. They just didn’t make a storyline out of it.

Hey RS –

WOW, what kind of comment is this??

“That should’ve been the end of that, but since Michael is a little pit bull who won’t stop biting, he couldn’t let it go”

Aren’t you a dog lover? You know ‘pit bulls’ and all other dogs DO NOT have a lock jaw? I know you were being funny, but its an ignorant thing to say, especially when ‘pit bulls’ are being killed in shelters all across the country because people believe them to be inherently dangerous when it can’t be farther from the truth. Hopefully your readers know better, but I doubt it.

Educate yourself, your dog will appreciate it 🙂

Comment: Yikes. I make one throwaway statement that’s basically a joke, and now I’m getting attacked. Oh, it sure is fun being Reality Steve sometimes where every single word out of my mouth is taken so seriously.

Lets calm down people.

Hi Steve! Thanks for the spoilers this season. Can’t wait until it’s over because honestly, it’s been the most boring season yet.

Anyway, have a few questions for you.

1. Why do you think these past contestants who are still friends with the crew come out and say things about the show that make it look bad? Molly and Jason, aren’t they still close to Mike Fleiss and Chris Harrison and them? Do they not care?

2. Do you think Chris will become the next bachelor? I think he’ll make the best bachelor out of the final four guys. Hopefully not Drew since he’s buying twitter followers… pathetic.

3. Do you know if Bachelor Pad is coming back? I thought I read something about it coming back, but I’m not sure.

Comment: 1) I guess when you’re far removed from the show, you feel it’s ok. I highly doubt Jason and Molly will be blackballed from the franchise for anything they said on their podcast. It’s nothing that plenty of other past contestants haven’t said numerous times. And it’s not like they made it up. It’s the truth.

2) I’m going to talk more about this in Tuesday’s column, but if you ask me right now, I’d still say Drew.

3) It’s not this summer. No idea yet on if it will return in the future.

Hey! Like every other person that emails you, I love the site – otherwise why would I be reading and emailing you? Duh! Every episode I watch of the show I think I wonder what Steve is gonna say about that..

Anyways, my question is for you. You always make depressing comments (obviously jokes) when people get engaged.. I know you talk about it but why are you single? What are you doing to meet ladies? I think you’d be much funnier if you had a lady in your life while you were watching a season.. No? Just having a different view on love..?

Thanks! And I look forward to your future blogs about then next few weeks of epis.

Comment: I don’t talk about my dating life. Never have and never will. It’s nobody’s business. Do I go on dates? Yes. Will I talk about them publicly? Absolutely not. I’m sure in the future if I start getting serious with someone, I’ll make mention of it briefly, but I’m just not one of those people that’s gonna talk about it constantly making it fodder for my column and post tons of pictures, etc. Not me. Especially after what I’ve been through the last 9 months with some crazy ass f***ing lunatics I’ve had to deal with. Sorry. Not worth it.

I have a recent dating story I could share that’ll make your head spin, since mine still is. But that’s not me, and it never will be.

Hi Steve:

I enjoy your column! I’d be interested to hear more about what you think of Des as the Bachelorette? Who do you think would have been a better choice? (I think Leslie could have been a good pick.) Rather than just picking someone who is likable, it seems like the producers should focus on selecting someone who is witty/interesting/insightful.

Comment: If we’re going off girls from Sean’s season, and hindsight is 20/20 now, I would’ve gone with Lesley Murphy. But she finished out of the Top 4, so she really didn’t have a chance.

Hi reality steve! i am from Peru so i am sorry for the bad english haha
On sean`s season i just to lovee desiree but now i dont know, she is really boring and plain. But question is about drew! i dont know why he hasnt had any air time yeet!!! he is the most good looking and i think most likely the next bachelor but why did producers cut all of his scenes with desiree??? We havent even seen them have a real conversation yet or even a kiss why us that?? i just wacht the show for fim so i am really concerned.
pd. I know she ends up with brooks but i swear i have a feeling that he is gay i dont know why but he seems so femenine
I would love for you to answer me!
Thanks 🙂

Comment: I appreciate you giving me the forewarning about the bad English because, well, I probably would’ve had fun with it.

With that said, no idea why they haven’t shown Drew at all really.

Hi Steve! This is the first time I’m emailing you, but I’ve been reading your blog religiously for years! Thank you for the laughs and spoilers and keep them coming!

I just had to write because I am so bothered by the gay vibe that Brooks gives out on the show. The way he talks, his body language, hand motions, things he does- it’s driving me crazy!!! Do you see it too???

I also wanted to see if you had any opinions or predictions on who might be the next bachelor out of this group of guys. I just don’t see any of them being worthwhile as the next Bachelor, I think Chris would bore everyone out of their minds if he was chosen.

What do you think?

Thanks for answering my email!

Comment: Isn’t the first “have you gotten a gay vibe from Brooks” email I’ve received this season, and it certainly won’t be the last.

I’m still gonna guess it’ll be Drew, but I’ll expand more upon this in Tuesday’s column.

Hello! This email may be late to make it into the questions since you’re posting it Wed. night, but I wanted to ask a few things.

1) Was Desiree into Bryden at all? I thought she was in the past, but she didn’t seem to give a sh*t when he left.

2) Can you tell us what other guys were not into Des at all?

3) Was there something pivotal edited out in the 2-on-1 date? Michael was such an asshole and Ben was way nicer than most men would have been in that situation. Des didn’t even state any good reasons why she was sending him home and she doesn’t seem into Michael at all… I thought her decision was very strange.

Comment: 1) No, she sure didn’t.

2) No.

3) Not that I know of.

Hey Steve! What a boring season. I find myself watching while playing around on my iPad… Texting with friends who are also watching but talking about anything else but the show….. Half paying attention!

I like that Des is low maintenance (especially compared to emily) and can hang with the guys… But she’s boring and the guys are boring!

ANYWAY! A question and a few comments-

1- I feel like I’ve read on your site before that the lead does not get to choose who goes on the dates- that the producers pick. How come we always hear des say “I chose so and so for this date because…” And even past leads like Ali talk about choosing specific people for certain dates. I feel like Ali is very open about the show and would straight up tell us if the produces chose the person. What’s the real scoop? Do the producers offer their input and the lead is encouraged to follow suit? Or is it completely up to the producers or the lead?

2- I feel like Zak is the Lindsey this season. Night 1 they got a lot of haters. Showing up shirtless and in a wedding dress.. Coming off a little crazy…. But end up being a front runner and lasting a long time… And becoming like-able.

3- I know you’ve mentioned this before but Sarah Herron’s blog is freaking HILARIOUS. I never knew she was that comical!!!!

4- can’t wait to hear why you tweeted “brooks .. Brooks… Brooks..” The suspense is killing me. He’s way too fem for my liking. So are half the other guys. Des got screwed. Emily had a way better selection!!!!

Have a good one 🙂

Comment: 1) The leads have no say in who goes on the dates. It’s all the producers choosing. So why does the lead say “I chose so and so for this date…?” Because it’s a TV show and they want to make you think the lead is choosing. They’re not.

2) I see the similarities. Only Zak doesn’t get to the final 2.

3) Yeah, it is funny. Definitely check it out if you haven’t read it. It’s

4) Just remember, I did say that Desiree and Brooks are still engaged, so keep that in mind.

Funny stuff! Glad I am not the only one that thinks Michael is a douche lord. I gave him a little benefit of doubt because I wasn’t sure how much far the producers were pushing him until I saw that he was still up to his usual shenanigans on twitter last night. He needs to give it a rest. They both should have been sent packing!

Can you say if your Brooks, Brooks, Brooks tweet is in response to something he did that could ultimately lead to a break up? Is it just stupid self-promotion stuff? Any crumbs at all you can throw?

Also, you mentioned that there are guys there that were not interested in Des. Other than the obvious, are any of them front runners?

Any ideas on who you think the next Bachelor could be? I know that it would be between Chris, Drew, and Zak but do you think there is anyone else that tbpt would consider? What do you think about Sean’s tweet about Jef Holm being a good choice? This is the 3rd time he has made that comment.

Comment: Wow. I think this emails three questions are three questions that have come up at least once already. Some twice. Some three times. The biggest theme this week is people are so underwhelmed by Des’ guys, they have no idea who could possibly be the next “Bachelor.” I’ll talk about it more on Tuesday.

Ok, this season is sooo boring that now I’m feeling compelled to fantasize about Steve’s dating life. He and the person who wrote the email about Sarah Herron’s blog were both spot-on – she is HILARIOUS! How cool would it be if the two of them got together?!? Why? Because Sarah needs more dancing in her life and Steve seems like just the kind of guy who could give it to her, and becuse she’s just the kind of gal who could equal him in sarcastic dry humor We could all write haikus or or make up silly poems about it – like this one: “Steve and Sarah sitting in a tree, d – a – n – c, i n g. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes blogging and a baby carriage.”

I see Sean has hired an agent. He won’t be leaving LA to go back to Texas to sell insurance without a fight. ugh

    June 27, 2013 at 11:49 AM

So not surprising! Everyone one of these nothings from the franchise believe themselves to be the next amazing star! Guess Hollywood made him a better offer than God ever did.

Why can’t ach of them take their 15 minutes and walk off into the sunset!

Whatever happened to Sean’s 1/3 interest in Factory Girl?

To whoever is following Ash(I’m adopted)Lee and Brad.. any updates? I think maybe it was BFW.

  5. bigfatwoman

    June 27, 2013 at 1:59 PM

Yes it was me following AshLee, but I unfollowed her a while ago. She tweets too much ridiculous stuff about getting organized, etc.

Twitter is a very interesting look inside someone’s ego. I’m not on Facebook, never have been, but I do like Twitter. I like to follow people that I find interesting (for good or bad reasons), but I keep it private, I rarely tweet and I have zero followers. It’s a great way to keep up on trends and the news of the world.

Having said that….I told you already Catherine blocked me, but I do still follow Sean. Yes he has had an agent for a while and yes, I think he is totally full of himself and Catherine has become his very willing sidekick. They are both sucking up their 15 minutes of fame with vigor and they gross me out. I will laugh when they break up because it’s inevitable.

Sean has also been campaigning for Jef to the be new Bachelor and I feel the same way about him. Like Steve said, total opportunist.

The only Bach couple that I like is JP and Ashley and maybe Trista and Ryan. They seem like real people.

Regarding Nick Wallenda the “batshi*” crazy guy who crossed the Grand Canyon (and previously crossed Niagra Falls), he is the grandson or great grandson of Karl Wallenda, who used to do the same stunts years ago (before network TV), and got a fraction of the pay. He’d do walks between skyscrapers, across deep gourges, and all the same stuff as Nick is doing. He did it until his mid 70s when he fell during one of his stunts, in Brazil I think, and died. Nick, like Karl, is in great shape and practices his stunts dozens and dozens of times (at lower heights). He even introduces variables like wind, rain, etc. so he learns to handle them. These days, with the money involved in these shows, he doesn’t just show up somewhere and do the stunt. He practices the specific conditions for months. So, by the time he actually does the show, he knows that he’s not going to fall. It’s a special talent, no doubt, but he spends a lot of preparation time and effort. So, it’s not as crazy as it seems. Still, like with Karl, he only has to make a mistake one time to pay with his life.

Gotta call out RS on the Brooks, Brooks, Brooks tweet. So, he puts that out there, doesn’t explain it & thinks there’s going to be no curiosity?? What? It was an obvious tease, with the purpose of getting people interested…. and there is no other reason for a tease than to keep people reading, despite his protestations to the contrary. Come on RS, stop the BS. It’s pretty transparent what you’re doing & please stop playing innocent. It’s irksome to read your complaints when readers react to your nonsense.

Athena, after reading Sarah Herron’s blog, which is a really fun read, I think she needs to meet Chris from Des’ season.

Don’t forget, Jen Frase is hysterical too! I think Sarah just joined the ranks of my top three favorite Tuesday reading, including RS and Jen.

About all the criticizing we all do of the “contestants” who then think they are “stars”: the fact is that just about anyone who experiences any level of fame then wants more of it. It’s really kind of like a drug high. It’s not pleasant to watch, but it’s really pretty normal to then want “more”. I’m not going to criticize any of them for going for it as I’m sure most all of us, or at least me, would do the same. As my mama used to warn me: “heroin makes you feel soooo good, it’s almost impossible not to get hooked”. Despite my checkered past, I can’t speak to the truth of this, but from what I’ve seen, I think she was pretty close to right.

My post didn’t show up so take two. . .

I have to agree with rob22 about Steve teasing “oh Brooks, Brooks, Brooks” and then saying he’ll reveal what he meant when the time is right and putting down people who ask about it. C’mon, dude, that is some BS.

  11. Sunnyside422

    June 27, 2013 at 4:04 PM

Karynr: thanks for the Jen Frase reference! Totally forgot about her this season! She is awesome so if you are in the mood to laugh, do check her blog! Just read all the episode recaps. There is nothing serious about her blog…just taking apart the men (using the term loosely) and Des. Good read.

  12. mariet

    June 27, 2013 at 5:11 PM

Yes, BFW, I totally agree with your third paragraph. Gross indeed! And freeasabird, I think the “Managing Partner” of Factory Girl was just a ruse after he became the Bachelor. Being a State Farm or Allstate agent–whatever– (which is exactly what he was on Emily’s season) was not cool enough for whoever he thinks he is. Sad.

  13. jsocial12

    June 28, 2013 at 8:51 AM

I definitely love Steve’s spoilers and inside information; however, I find the TV without pity recaps to be a lot funnier (and shorter!). The whole “Oh Brooks, Brooks, Brooks” tweet..I agree with rob22, and it’s exactly why I don’t follow him on Twitter. Because of BS tweets like that.

Another great bachelor/ette blogger is “babefromtheburbs” She is absolutely hilarious. Very dry and snarky/sarcastic.

To the woman 9 years older than her boyfriend: I am 10 years older than my husband (I’m 46, he is 36). We’ve been happily married for 5 years and have a 4 year old son together. Age just has never been an issue in any way for us because we don’t make it one. If you’re happy together it’s all that matters and I agree with Steve about not looking for trouble. Just because it’s more common in big gaps that the guy is the older one shouldn’t matter if you’re compatible. Go with it and be happy!

  15. elizabeth82

    June 28, 2013 at 12:21 PM

@jsocial12: I love Television Without Pity’s recaps, too.

@vessel: I think 10-year gaps are OK. Older than that and it may start to get weird. Anyone else see how James Woods (66) has another 20-year-old gf?

Yeah, 10 year age gaps are fine…. unless you’re 25. Jus sayin. James Woods is definitely a creeper. Has he been on anything, except for his frothing at the mouth appearances on Fox News, in the last 10 years?

I have a comment for Cheap Date (who wrote to Dr. RS) – your letter is a bit confusing. Either you’re willing to pay your way on a date, or you’re not. If you are, why are you complaining about it? If you’re not, why are you doing it? A bit of advice: What you accept, you teach. He’s learned you’re willing to pay your way, and it’s a bit late to change the lesson you’ve taught. If I were you, I’d (1) continue to pay my way and quit letting it bother me, or (2) split up with him and, when you start over, never offer to pay your way, if that’s the way you want your new relationship to be.

Kasey and Michael act like teenage girls who love drama and gossip. They still have alot of growing up to do and are extremely annoying when they whine. I was embarresed for “Mr. Prosecuter” who actually squirmed like a scared child when James sat next to him on the couch. He does not across as a real man, but an immature man/child. I can not wait until he is booted off.

Michael, Drew, Kasey, definitely bromance, so not sure how they got passed the interview as straight men. How Michael’s excitement about James’ departure, was so much more important to him then the reason for being there (like he won and loved it). Now you’re showing your true colors Michael, yet when James was being real about what all of you are thinking, but afraid to say, wasn’t acceptable. Now that James is gone, we’re left with the most boring, uninteresting crew. I really may not continue to watch. I mean who does she have to choose from? A bunch of gossiping, rumormill men. Seriously? Who will they try to squeeze out next?
