i think the most annoying question is the getting pregnant in fantasy suite question. one example of jp saying something he shouldn’t have because it went against ABC and reveleved their production/editing was tweeting that no one saw him kiss clare in boat back in Vietnam. I think abc filmed andy “seeing” and reacting to the kiss because she was their employee with the promise of the bachelorette show. if you watch that scene, the other girls are pointing and reacting to the scenery in Vietnam as tourists would. nobody saw the kids.

As far as the pregnancy question– I wonder how many people actually have sex in the fantasy suite anyways. Call me a prude, but there’s no chance in hell I’d sleep with a guy who is potentially having sex with two other girls. Steve makes it seem like they all have sex in there, and who knows, maybe they do. I honestly have no clue. I wish past contestants would open up about that a little bit, although that will never happen. But as far as pregnancy, I’m sure that they all have to sign a waiver to use protection and/or birth control or something. Can you imagine the drama/attention the show would get if someone did get pregnant in there and it got out?? Especially if they didn’t get picked in the end? I don’t necessarily think every woman would just choose to “end the pregnancy” like Steve was saying. Anyways this is all hypotheticals. The thing I wonder is if the leads ever tell the person they pick that they’re gonna pick them during the overnights. With no cameras there, they could potentially say whatever they want… I love you, don’t worry, I’m picking you, etc. I wonder how often that happens.

They have a whole panel of medical tests the contestants have to go through before they even step out of the limo, including pregnancy tests, STD checks, etc. Plus, they always seem to have medical personnel around for accidents, so no way they’ll take a chance with one of the ladies getting knocked up in the fantasy suite.

I don’t know if all the women have to be on some form of birth control when the show starts, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was required. Pill, IUD, Diaphragm, whatever. And I imagine they have every type of condom available as well.

For those thinking Juan Pablo had sex in the fantasy room with any of the women or any bachelorette or bachelor ever having sex in the fantasy room is crazy, lol. For one thing sex outside of marriage is either fornication or adultery. If both a man and woman are single and have sex when not married it is fornication. If one of them is married and the other one not it is adultery. If a man or woman has sex with anybody that is divorced and the divorced man or women is still alive it is adultery. You made a vow till death does you part. Your divorce doesn’t annihilate your vow. Want to see what the Word says about it so you don’t have to take my word for it?

    King James Bible
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Hey just want JP to disappear because I’m really tired of him.

As for the most interesting thing I read, I love David Cook!! His cover of Lionel R’s “HELLO” was my absolute favorite Idol performance!

That was by far the best After the Rose show to date. Juan Pablo exposed this slimy show for what it truly is. He wouldn’t play along with their scripted crap and it just all fell apart. Chris looked like an absolute bully while the former participants like Sean and Catherine sat there like sheep and cashed in their Bachelor checks by throwing Juan under the bus while maintaining their love for the show.

Even in his broken english, Juan was clear as day, he wasn’t ready to say he loved her because he simply wanted to see how the relationship was in the “real world” and not in the confines of this ridiculous show/setting. Was just so funny seeing him interrupt Chris, talk back to him and basically give the middle finger to the show. Even the “no surprise” had producers trying to write something in and force Juan to propose … all over it. Go Juan!

    Agree, Statman..
Love him or hate him, finally someone telling it like it is without feeling the constraints of the almighty ABC. I found myself cheering for him throughout most of it. Screw ABC for trying to throw him under the bus once they finally didn’t get to control and manipulate the lead as they always do.

If ABC treated him the way they did because of his anti-gay remarks, I have a hard time not siding with them. Sure he’s backpedaling now, but who wouldn’t under so much pressure & with so much money (DWTS) at stake? His “honesty” cost him an extension on his 15 mins. When I look at JP, I see a homophobe & a chauvinist. The Bachelor team is obviously made up of a bunch of jerks so I’m not pretending they’re the heroes here by any means, but at least they’re not (obvious) bigots.

This entire season I’ve been trying to read between the lines .
Obviously, Pablo does not articulate himself all that well in english.
I being of latin decent can somewhat relate to how some things just don’t come off the same way as intended when you primarily think in spanish and speak in english. When the season started on the wrong foot with Pablo’s thoughts on a gay bachelor I knew that It was going to be a bumpy but interesting ride. First, I believe what he meant was that a gay bachelor show might be more racy being that men might be more physical and liberal in their courting than straight women.
So,.. This is my theory, I believe that after a few women early on had issues with communicating with Juan Pablo and his lack of ability to fake chemistry with conversation with a good portion of the candidates, along with the inability to erase the taint of his gay bachelor comments, they decided to run with the bad guy character.
With his lack of vocabulary and speaking off the cuff it was the perfect recipe to paint the worst bachelor in history.
They succeeded! In the fantasy suite with Andi how can two people have such different conclusions on how their night had gone.
I believe Juan Pablo took advantage of the alone time to vent and speak on things he couldn’t speak about on camera and Andi saw that as being self absorbed. He was sharing very bluntly his feelings about the show, feelings about the other women and how he honestly had trouble narrowing it down while slowly getting to know these girls and how she “barely made it to the next round. Harsh?Maybe.. but honest and genuine. And he felt comfortable enough to share those thoughts and concerns openly not expecting her to judge because he felt a connection forming. She took it all the wrong way. As I guess any insecure, and somewhat self centered woman would. Well, now her ego can just be as big as it can be with her new position as bachelorette.
Back to some things he said tonight though. Juan Pablo hates the majority of this production team. As he saw the picture of himself begin to take form as the season continued to air his bitterness toward the show begins to show through. I believe he had plans to give viewers the fairytale ending they wanted and changed his mind before the women tell all. He mentioned that 2 producer that he is close to and know him well gave him some information that changed his mind.
He was most likely tipped off on how the finale would be edited to paint him as a player who has no intentions to commit. He was also irritated with how he was depicted as dimwitted and uninterested in getting know know the women on a deeper level.
Like he said over 600 hours of footage edited down to 20hrs of show time. They could have painted any picture they wanted.. As they do every season. My thought is that he is in love with Nikki but at this point didn’t want to give the show, judgmental viewers and Chris the satisfaction of seeing their fairytale ending. It was a way of saying screw you for putting me through this hell in the media and every Monday night. He said that he was so happy that it’s over. His obligations to sit in the public eye contractually and eat all the negativity are over. I think he has every intention of staying with Nikki and I’m sure behind closed doors will be saying “I love you” as much as he can. He wanted to stick it to the production team and Chris and he did. However, they got what they wanted to an extent too.. A new twist on a bachelor finale. Oh.. And Shawn said the relationship doesn’t become private now that the show is over.. And he should know because he and Catherine have been riding their 15min harder than any other couple in Bachelor history! They make the Kardashian’s seem private. There is my perspective. Who knows if anyone will even read it. Haha!

“a gay bachelor show might be more racy being that men might be more physical and liberal in their courting than straight women”= exact same thing JP said, so you equally do not understand gay men & are misinformed/ do not know many gay men. You probably only know what you see on TV. You didn’t do him any favors with that comment, imo.

I think it is naive to believe that JP is in love with Nikki & is saying “I love you” to her behind closed doors. I understand the desire for a fairy tale ending, but it can’t always be. My thought is the closest thing to love he proclaims for her is the love of getting in her pants.

Love this… a good balance of explaining that while JP clearly shouldn’t be blameless in his whole thing, ABC came across like a bunch of bullies.

Liz, I think Steve was right all along and that JP had no interest in finding a wife, and that he had to choose someone, so he chose Nikki.

I also think they threw him under the bus unnecessarily though. It was a tad overkill. (but when is this show not? lol)

    March 11, 2014 at 10:48 AM

Eatart379, I agree with basically everything you just said. JP was clearly pissed about something last night, and I think you nailed dissecting why.

Idw to get into a debate about gays (I have friends that are gay! Jk) but I do understand what JP was *trying* to say.. I still find it curious that he was ever even asked that question.. What would Sean have said? I guarantee he feels the same, but he would have lied and said what is PC. I just find it refreshing that they, unwittingly, cast someone who actually says what he really thinks. Right or wrong, at least he’s staying true to his beliefs. That’s all.

    Hi, Liz!!! : )

  14. kasey31

    March 11, 2014 at 10:51 AM

ABC knew what they were getting themselves into. I still find it very difficult to believe that during all the preparation for this season that someone, anyone, didn’t see this guy as a loose canon and say, “Hold it! We can’t cast this guy.. He doesn’t watch the show, he’s unfamiliar with how this process works, he makes off-the-wall remarks, he is poor at articulating his thoughts, let’s not risk it.”
Instead, they hoped for the best. They’re the parents here.
They don’t give a crap about any of the contestants, as we know, but they still should have taken the higher road. Instead, Chris Harrison came across as a bully.
He knew he had America’s support and he ran with it.
And the whole “My execs informed me you had a surprise?” shtick was the icing on the cake for me. He knew darn well JP wasn’t going to propose.. He just wanted to humiliate Nikki and JP.

Was JP perfect? Far from it, but he brought in the ratings this season for them, and Catherine’s “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you” line can be applied both ways.
ABC should be better than that and bigger than that. They were still insulting JP as they were talking to Andi.

I understood what he was saying last night about this being his real life, but ABC wants everyone to be enchanted with this unrealistic love story they force feed us.
I know I’m in the minority, but that’s just how I feel.

No I do agree with a lot of what you’re saying, kasey. Like I said, ABC is no hero. We all know what they’re capable of. That Fleiss dude is even creepier than JP. I see Chris Harrison as just a pawn in Fleiss’s game, really, so I don’t ultimately blame him. Plus, he was kinda
of hilarious last night. I like the snarky side of him. I just wish someone more noble could be the one to expose ABC’s manipulations- someone who seems to be at heart a good person. It’s really hard to choose the lesser evil in this situation.

  16. kasey31

    March 11, 2014 at 11:16 AM

Yea, I agree, Liz. I think that’s where so many ppl flip flop back and forth. It’s just so hard bc we’d probably never know if they were a good person as long as ABC is in charge of their edit.
But, believe me, I understand the stance that you and many others take on JP.

    March 11, 2014 at 1:08 PM

Well I (nora) hate to tell you all I told you so but I did and I was the first to tell you Andi will be the next bachelorette. Was I right? I also have a comment here where I said I can’t see Pablo proposing to Nikki or Clare. Now I predicted long before Obama was in office that he would win the election and I was right. Glad he did by the way. My next perdition is Hillary will be our next president. When The Bachelorette comes on I will tell you all who I think Andi will pick just as soon as the men get out of the limo. That night and no sooner seeing that would be impossible. You might have to go to Yahoo news to see who I say because this website isn’t too stable. Lot of lag, etc. Well as for the show last night remember, I TOLD YOU SO! 🙂
