-What I found weird was before the group date started you had two different conversations take place. First, Whitney tells Becca and Carly all about her date from the previous day, giving details of what they did, then gushing about how it’s the greatest day of her life. No one seems to be giving her any sh** for that, yet when Mackenzie did it, and Britt did it (with far less detail), they are looked at wrong and people say they are mean for rubbing it in. How was Whitney not rubbing in her date? Whatever. Anyway, then we see in the very next scene Jade telling Carly she once did Playboy. Of course she kept it very surface level (of what we saw), and Carly immediately judged her. Hey Carly, just wait til you actually see the pictures which I’m sure you have by now. I’m curious about this dynamic. Did Jade just tell Carly of the remaining girls? Did she tell any of the others? Did she give Carly permission to tell any of the others? Should she have? I’m curious what you think. To me, I think she should’ve only told Chris. Yes, the girls were going to find out eventually when they got home, but while you’re there? It only gives them ammunition against you. But telling Chris is vital since if you don’t, then you’re lying to him. He’s the one you’re chasing. He’s the one that needs to know, not the other girls. I mean, Courtney kept the skinny dipping from the other girls because she knew that’d come back to haunt her. Why tell Carly and/or the other girls about your past? Let me know what you think and vote in this poll:
-For the group date, Chris takes Britt, Carly, and Kaitlyn to the hockey rink to ice skate and shoot pucks. Not really much of a date. Just a way to spend alone time with three different girls, but the focal point of the date became the Carly vs Britt showdown. Carly thinks Britt is being fake about wanting to move to Arlington because she said so while they were there, but Britt tells Chris something completely different. Chris pulls Britt outside first to see where she stands. That’s where this tweet took place and part of the reason why I originally thought Britt had the third 1-on-1 in Iowa:
Britt assures Chris that it’s all good, she loved Arlington, she would move there tomorrow, and it’s basically the greatest city she’s ever seen. Obviously she was laying it on thick, and I’m sure she’ll address it on the WTA if she really could’ve seen herself there, but that’s what she told him. Hell, she even told him her initial reaction was, “It was so small, I don’t know what I’d do here,” basically the same exact reaction she gave to the girls which was, “I don’t see myself here.” But then as she told the girls, on the drive back home, she changed her mind. Now, whether you believe her or not is an entirely different argument. But if we’re just talking about what Britt said during the episode, then Carly is the snitch and completely over exaggerating because she knows Britt was a front runner at that point and she was looking for any way to take her down.
-I know that opinion will be unpopular and I know you’ll think I’m just biased towards Britt, but I’m just calling it like I see it. Britt specifically said she didn’t know if she could see herself in Arlington when they initially got there, but then told the girls after they got back, she changed her mind as they were driving home. We all saw it. So when Carly was relaying to Chris what Britt said, why didn’t she relay Britt also said she changed her mind about it after giving her initial thoughts? Conveniently left that out. Yes, Britt could just be covering her ass and said that because she felt she had to, but she did say it. Carly only told Chris about Britt’s initial reaction to Arlington, not what she said afterwards. I’m sorry, but Carly came across as completely unlikeable to me last night. You’re down to 6 women, so you have a 1 in 6 shot to win this thing, and on your possible last chance with him, you tell him you’re looking out for him so he doesn’t make a mistake with Britt? Why not focus on your own relationship at that point? Has she never watched this show before even though her brother was on it? Carly’s words probably did resonate with Chris, but it surely sealed Carly’s fate as well. We can debate this all day long, but Carly never gave Chris the full story. She was out to smear Britt because she knew she could and knew Britt was a front runner, so she didn’t tell Chris the whole story of what Britt actually said. Whether she believed Britt is an entirely different story because she obviously didn’t, but she conveniently left out what Britt said once they got back from Arlington. Anyone who thinks Carly even has a remote shot at the “Bachelorette” has their head screwed on backwards. Please. Not a chance.
-So after hockey, Chris takes the girls to the West End Architectural Salvage for some more talking and basically get to the bottom of who’s lying between Carly and Britt. He pulls Britt aside first, and rather than do what he did last week where he ran to Kelsey and said, “Well, Ashley said this about you…” he takes a much different approach and just asks Britt about Arlington again without mentioning what Carly told him. Smart move. You don’t want your nuts chopped off by Carly either. Britt starts talking about how her hometown would be and shares that her family doesn’t really do formal dinners. They’d rather sit in the living room and eat off paper plates. Ummmm, ok. My kind of family. I don’t think I’ve sat at my dinner table in the 18 months since I’ve moved into my house. Britt reiterates how much a hometown date would mean to her and she doesn’t just invite anyone back to her place, so that essentially laid the groundwork for what was to come later. Britt figured after this talk there was no way Chris wouldn’t give her the rose and guarantee her a hometown. Britt thought wrong.
-Chris pulls Kaitlyn aside and Kaitlyn is feeling insecure because since their Jimmy Kimmel date, she hasn’t had much alone time and she sees other girls meeting family and friends of Chris so she feels she’s behind. Well technically you are behind because Chris would much rather drink beers and shoot the sh** with you than actually have you as his wife. You know, like most guys watching this show. It’s nothing against you, but there’s nothing about you that screams “I gotta date that girl.” Cool chick, fun at parties, lively personality, and probably more of a personality than the last four “Bachelorettes” combined. I just don’t see her being the apple in 25 guy’s eyes, but hey, that’s just me. Whatever Kaitlyn told him worked, since he ended up giving her the rose which in turn, had steam coming out of Britt’s ears. If he thought he was getting death stares last week when the 5 girls on the group date were pissed he gave Britt the group date rose, Britt took all those stares and multiplied them by a gazillion once she saw Kaitlyn got the group date rose. Castrating Chris and hanging him upside down was probably the tamest thought going through her head at that point.
-So Britt’s reaction, although she obviously is allowed to feel however she wants, was completely disrespectful to the other girls there and basically she just lost it on Chris. “Kaitlyn…I love you…I’m just having trouble…not mad, confused…hurt right now…after the day we had and envisioned myself as your wife…literally asking and begging for validation…” Enough already. Just stop. Wrong place, wrong time. Britt killed herself with this conversation. Nothing she did was classy and she absolutely shouldn’t have said anything at that moment with Carly and Kaitlyn sitting right there. Sure she could be pissed she didn’t get the group date rose, but she couldn’t have handled the situation any worse. Belittled both of the other girls and essentially led to her downfall which we’ll see to start off the show tonight. Horrible decision by her. One of the worst moves a front runner has ever pulled off in the history of this show. Just dumb.
-One thing you can say for Britt in all this is I don’t remember a single ITM of her insulting any of the other women or making fun of them. Not to mention how many times we’ve seen Britt in a group with the other girls and she’s either hugging them, has her arms wrapped around them, or is touching them in some way. We saw it last night when her arms were interlocked with Whitney on the couch I believe before the rose ceremony in South Dakota. The girl is always touching someone at all times. Hey, she said it in her intro video she’s a very touchy person and she’s proven that all season. When Jillian was still on the show, the two of them were attached at the hip. Literally. But as I mentioned on page 1, it’s not like Britt is a villain this season. Far from it. Is she a Vienna? A Courtney? A Tierra? A Trish? Not even close. Hence the reason why she can still be the “Bachelorette.” Just because she got jealous of Kaitlyn getting a rose instead of her doesn’t mean they wouldn’t give her the “Bachelorette” because of it. Lets keep it all in perspective. Her season is her season. It really will have nothing to do with what happened with Chris. I absolutely still think she can get it. Will she? I don’t know. We’ll know soon.
So tonight we will see the rest of what happened in Des Moines (without Becca’s 1-on-1 I’m sure), and then go straight into hometowns. Obviously the previews showed us Jade telling Chris about her past, but what’s even better is that she whips out the laptop and actually SHOWS him. Outstanding. Does he get a hard on? Does he act mad? Hell, how DO you even react in that situation? I don’t even know what I’d do. Lets face it, there’s all different types/levels of modeling. I look at it like this:
-Maxim modeling (risqué, but you’re still covered up)
-Playboy topless AND bottomless (Jade)
You can’t just lump “nude modeling” into one category. There’s definitely a difference between a few topless photos here and there and what Jade did. If some ex threw her under the bus and pics got out of her fully nude, that’s one thing. But this is knowingly signing on and doing fully nude photos for the most popular men’s magazine in the world. She knew exactly what she was doing and she did it for a reason. Not to mention coming on this show. She knew what she was getting into, she knew this would bring attention to her brand, and that’s why she did it. Anything else she says would be insincere and a complete lie. She went on the “Bachelor” to promote her brand and nothing else.
