Bachelorette Kaitlyn Spoilers

“Bachelorette” Kaitlyn Episode-by-Episode Spoilers (UPDATED June 15th)

Welcome back everyone! Hope you enjoyed your two month hiatus from all things “Bachelorette” related. Just know why you were off in your own little worlds, my nose was to the grindstone working feverishly to get you all your spoilers for this season. Ok, so maybe that’s a bit overexaggerated, but you get my point. Things started out quite easy this season as there were three public dates in the early going that we had pictures and information to on social media. However once the gang got to Ireland, that’s when they started to kinda fall off the radar and nothing was happening in the social media world in regards to the show. What happened? Well, that’s what I’m here for today. I told you 10 days ago I had the ending, nothing has changed since then, and with the show premiering tonight, you now have your episode-by-episode spoilers all tied up in one nice bow for you in this column. I explain exactly how the ending of the show went down as I’ve been teasing for a week now, it didn’t film like it normally does. And we can thank spoilers for that. Will it continue that way in the future? I don’t know. We won’t know until the next “Bachelor” season starts filming in September. Friday’s column had all your spoilers for tonight’s episode, but in case you’re checking this site for the first time in two months today, here it is again. Enjoy, and be sure to read everything in here. There’s A LOT to cover.

Episode 1: (Airing May 18th & 19th) Los Angeles, CA (25 to 19)

-9 guys got intro videos: Jonathan, Joe, Josh, Brady, Joshua, Ian, Jared, Tony, and Ben Z.

-Joe Bailey is from small town Columbia, KY and his accent is THICK. Like, thicker than we’ve probably ever heard on this show. Very, very, very country accent. He will be well liked this season and you can mark him down for “Bachelor in Paradise.” Heard he’s in. So yeah, he doesn’t win.

-Josh’s intro video was just as I had told you – filmed at a male strip club with women running their hands on him, one woman straddling him, him taking a dollar bill out of a woman’s mouth, and basically everything you’d expect to see out of a male stripper.

-Ian talked about his track days at Princeton but was also in a major car accident and almost died. He was in a coma for a day and a half.

-Tony is just an odd bird. He’s all into the zen meditation, tries to sound really deep when he isn’t, and he talks to his plants. Cuck-koo, Cuck-koo.

-In some of the vidoes, the guys would say which girl they were hoping would be the “Bachelorette.” Jonathan and Brady said in theirs they wanted Britt. Joshua, Joe, Ian, and Jared picked Kaitlyn. Tony, Ben Z., and Josh never said in their video which one they liked better.

-As for the limo entrances, they really did cut down on the gimmicks this season since each guy had to basically introduce himself to two girls. For pretty much all of the guys, you saw them greet both girls. The question would be, which girl would you go to first? Here’s the order of limo entrances on the show and in parentheses which girl they approached first. If they did anything noteworthy, that’s added in there as well.

Ben H. (Kaitlyn) – But when he went to Britt, he “lost his words” and both sponsor children, so that was a big deal to both of them.
Jonathan (Britt)
Clint (Britt)
Ryan B. (Britt)
Jared (Britt) – Unbuttoned his shirt to reveal a blue Superman shirt, except it had an “L” for “Love Man.”
Kupah (Britt)
Brady (Britt)

As we all know, these limo entrances are shown out of the real order they actually happened, and once 6 of the first 7 guys they show all went to Britt first, you could tell they were setting Kaitlyn up to the be the underdog and making you think all the guys wanted Britt. During these first 7 entrances, Kaitlyn doing a lot of ITM’s about feeling uncomfortable and feeling that the guys all wanted Britt. Total misdirection since we all know what’s going to happen.

Cory S. (Kaitlyn)
Ian (Kaitlyn) – Even whispers in her ear “I’m hoping it’s gonna be you” before walking over to Britt. Ian is definitely TeamKaitlyn. He makes that quite known this episode.
JJ (Kaitlyn) – Being a hockey player and knowing Kaitlyn is from Canada (and has two ex’s who played hockey) went with the most creative entrance of the night, if not a little on the dirty side. Gave her a puck and said, “I would love to puck you.” To which she responded “You pucked me good.” He went over to Britt and apologized for not having a puck for her but did say he’d like to “puck her too.”
Ryan M. (Kaitlyn) – He was already sauced by the time he got out of the limos, so he probably doesn’t even remember who he went to first. He declared once he stepped out of the limo with arms wide spread, “Honeys, I’m home!” I think he even told Kaitlyn he was obsessed with her. Or maybe that was the alcohol talking.
Brad They never show his walk to the girls, we just see him talking to both of them who are right next to each other, so can’t really say who he went to first. But since he played tennis in college, he had on a headband and had a racket saying it was a “love love match.” Tennis humor. Always a knee slapper.
Daniel (Kaitlyn) – He was dancing.
Josh (Britt) – Unbuttoned his shirt, let the women feels his abs, tried to girnd up against both, may have passed on an STD.
Joe (Kaitlyn) – Gave her a jar of moonshine since he’s out of his element and this reminded him of home.
Justin (Kaitlyn) – Had balloons and sucked the helium out of them.
Tanner (Britt) – Watched last season, knew she cried a lot, so he brought her some tissues as a gift.
Shawn B. – Asked for a group hug so technically never went to one girl first. But lets make one thing perfectly clear this episode: Shawn B. is in love with Kaitlyn. Like from the first night. Told her “You are the reason why I’m here.” Definitely had the longest intro in terms of camera time out of the 25 guys.

At this point, Kaitlyn ran inside the mansion just to thank the guys and say a quick hello while Britt stayed outside. Britt’s ITM’s suggest that she thought maybe that was a little cheating on Kaitlyn’s part and maybe didn’t seem fair. Well, you certainly had the chance to do the same thing, but you chose to stay outside. You snooze, you lose.

David (Kaitlyn)
Corey (Kaitlyn) – Says he plays competitive volleyball, he’s not a farmer, but “I was hoping the offer to plow your field is still on the table?” Kaitlyn enjoyed that.
Tony (Britt) – He says to her “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while. I believe in love, real love & hope that universe provides.” Or something ridiculous like that. Cut to an ITM of Britt saying how into Tony she is. Then he walks over to Kaitlyn and says the exact same line. Britt: “Really? You say the same line to her?”

At this point, Ryan McDill is at the window of the mansion and banging on it because he’s drunk. Some of the quotes we hear at this point while he’s schmammered:

“I’m all horned up right now, you don’t even know what’s going on.”
“I’m horned up everybody.”
“I apologize for nothing. I’m sorry for being awesome.”
“I wanna date both of them, but because I’m selfish.”
“Hell, I’d like to take that girl out for a nice steak dinner and never call her again.”

Trust me, the Ryan McDill show is what everyone will be talking about come Tuesday morning. He is a one man wrecking crew this episode.

Shawn E. (Kaitlyn) – While Shawn is pulling up in his hot tub car, McDill has made his way outside and his sitting under a tree about 20 feet away from the girls. So when Shawn pulls up, Ryan blurts out “That car sucks. You suck dude.”
Kaitlyn said if she had to give the worst impression rose out that night, it’d go to Ryan. Both girls liked, or pretended to like, the hot tub car and weren’t happy with Ryan interrupting it.
Chris (Kaitlyn) – Arrived in the cupcake car. He’s a dentist, and he’s always telling people to avoid sugar, but “I’m really sweet for you guys.”
Joshua (Kaitlyn)
Ben Z. (Kaitlyn)

So if you’re into numbers and math as much as I am, 14 guys approached Kaitlyn first, 9 approached Britt first, and 2 it was never made clear on. Bradley and Shawn B. who did the group hug, but Shawn B. is all about Kaitlyn. 6 of the first 7 went to Britt first, meaning only 3 of the last 18 did. Ouch. But of course they were shown out of order, so it probably really wasn’t 6 of the first 7 but you get the point.

Once the cocktail party starts, I told you the joke Kaitlyn tells right off the bat with Britt’s reaction to it. That was in Wednesday’s post so check it out if you miss it. This whole first night centered around who the guys liked better and who they’d choose, and Ryan’s drunkenness. Basically, just something different to do on the first night since episode 1 is pretty much the same every season. This time with two women, all the cocktail party talk surrounded, “Who are you gonna vote for?” Some guys were very straightforward and you know exactly who they were set on, some were on the fence, some had someone in mind then changed it later, but honestly, the who voted for who thing got played out after a while. Once Tuesday’s episode rolls around and the season actually begins, I really don’t see guys who didn’t choose Kaitlyn as being a big deal. It’s not gonna matter. The show only has 4 to 6 real candidates every season anyway, so who cares if guy #18 didn’t vote for Kaitlyn? Irrelevant. He wasn’t long for the show anyway.

-Inside the cocktail party, Ian is the first person to pull someone away and he gets Kaitlyn. Tells her he wanted her to be the “Bachelorette.” They don’t show much else of the conversation but clearly just to let everyone know Ian wants Kaitlyn.

-Justin tells Britt he has a 4 yr old son, Aurelius. They talk about kids.

-Kaitlyn tells Corey she remembered the guy with the volleyball and loves his dimples. Corey gets a hard on. Or something like that.

-Ryan B. has a knock knock joke of his own for Britt.

Ryan B.: “Knock, knock.”
Britt: “Who’s there?”
Ryan B.: “Interrupting cow.”
Britt: “Interrupting…”
Ryan B.: “Mooooooooooooo!!!!”

Seriously? Can we please stop it with the f***ing knock knock jokes? Are we 6?

-Ben H. tells Britt that he has sponsored a child like her. He’s had one for 13 years and they’re about to be 18. They both connect on this level and seem into each other.

-Shawn B. is falling in love. “I believe in love at first sight & I actually think it might’ve happened tonight when I saw Kaitlyn out of the limo.” Easy there, bud. Lay off the hyperbole. You don’t even know what she’s like in bed.

-Tony talks to Britt about all his weirdness. Something about that talking to her brings a calming feeling or some Zen BS. Britt never calls him out for saying the same thing to Kaitlyn he said to her out of the limo. Tony says that he initially came on the show for Kaitlyn, but after talking to Britt, he’d changed his mind and decided he will choose Britt.

-Clint sits down with Kaitlyn and says he drew her a picture. He didn’t know who the “Bachelorette” was gonna be so he hopes she likes it. It was a picture of Chris Harrison riding a triceratops. Ummmm, ok.

-Chris Harrison enters the room and says the voting box is open. Guys can go in there and vote at any time. You place a rose in the ballot box for the one girl you have feelings for. Tony is the first one to step up and immediately went to the voting booth to vote for Britt. “The energy coming from the chest with Britt’s name on it was pulsating.” Tony, you’re a freakin’ whack job. He puts a rose in Britt’s box. And yes, inserting things into boxes for this vote makes me giggle.

-Both girls start basically making last ditch pitches to guys they haven’t spoken to or whatever. Kaitlyn talks to Joe and likes him. I believe he said “Yes ma’am” at some point.

-Jared is going back and forth on who to vote for. Said he didn’t make up his mind til he got in the voting room. They showed him voting, but the camera angle made it so you couldn’t tell which box he was playing with. I’m sorry. I just can’t help myself.

-Ben H. asks Kaitlyn about her “bird tattoos” on the back of both her elbows. She likes that he was the only one to ask. She said doves are the only bird that remembers how to fly home and family is very important to her. She always flys home and will always value where she came from. We see Ben H. in the voting booth after that talk voting for Kaitlyn.

-JJ talks to Britt and says he came in with preconceived notions. “You’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever spoken to.” He’s blown away by her. We never see his vote.

-It’s McDill time. Shawn E. pulls him outside to ask him why he disrespected his entrance when “I don’t even know who you are.” Drunk McDill’s retort? “Who are you? You do suck by the way. Everything about you.” The promo makes it seem like these two almost come to blows. They don’t.

-Ryan then pulls Britt outside. JJ comes up and says, “The bar said they have another drink for you.” Ryan pleads for 5 more minutes, JJ walks away, Jonathan comes in to save her. Next scene is Ryan now talking to Kaitlyn telling her how good she looks. He runs his hand down her side then kinda gave a quick slap on her ass saying “Very Ryan approved.” Ben Z. then pulls Ryan aside to say that wasn’t cool, and Ryan says “don’t ever f***ing talk to me again.”

-At this point, Ryan strips down into his speedo and goes in the pool while the other guys watch in amazement. We see him with drink in hand fall down by the pool, then walk into the voting booth knocking the giant picture of Kaitlyn down, then while standing at the boxes choosing who to vote for with rose in hand, he starts talking to both Kaitlyn and Britt’s picture on the wall before chucking the rose across the room. Ummmm, I have no idea who Ryan voted for and that was pretty comical. He’s a freaking disaster at this point. My words don’t even do it justice. Just wait.

-Then out in the hallway, we see Ryan putting his shirt back on when JJ confronts him. This happened:

JJ: “Why are you taking your shirt off?”
Ryan: “Why am I not raping you right now?”

So there’s that.

-Security guy in the hat comes into the room a little bit later and says to Ryan, “Chris Harrison would like to speak with you.” Ryan’s response: “Chris Hansen wants to speak with me.” Awesome. Chris meets him outside, says he’s not here for the right reasons, and they’re gonna send him home. Ryan says, “Is that it?” and then gets into the van. Well, it was fun while it lasted Ryan. It’s been real. Thanks for the entertainment.

-Tanner is sitting with Britt telling her he watched last season and that’s when Britt chimes in with him giving her the tissues. She thinks it was kind of a shot at her for being emotional. Tanner: “That didn’t go over well.” We see him in the next scene in a group of guys saying, “I like Kaitlyn.” Ha ha. Yeah, but if Britt loved your little tissue joke, I’m sure you would’ve liked her.

-Kaitlyn sitting with Shawn B. who tells her his niece and nephew mean the world to him. Luke and Isla. He gives her a picture that his nephew drew of her and it was basically what you’d expect from a kid. Stick figure of a girl. Kaitlyn says in an ITM: “This is the closest I’ve felt to love at first sight.”

-Britt sits with Brady and he tells her his life story. You can see these two vibing and it’s obvious she likes him. Makes sense now as to why they’re still together.

-Then they show a few guys in the voting booth placing their roses in boxes. So the overall tally of votes we actually see take place in the voting booth:

Kaitlyn: Ian, Ben H., Chris, Corey, and Ben Z.
Britt: Tony, Jonathan, Kupah, Josh

We see a short clip of Chris Harrison opening up each box and pulling out roses but only one or two. So when Tuesday’s episode starts, I highly doubt he’s gonna give the rose count of the votes. But we know it’s Kaitlyn and we’ll see her cocktail party and first rose ceremony on the 1 hr. Tuesday night show. In Tuesday’s show, Shawn Booth gets the first impression rose.

Rose Ceremony Eliminations: Shawn Evans, Ryan McDill (asked to leave before the rose ceremony), Josh Seiter, David, and Bradley Cox.

Brady Toops interrupts the rose ceremony and asks to speak to Kaitlyn privately. He pulls her away and says he feels he has a better connection with Britt and is going to take a chance with her. This was spoiled here back on March 24th. I don’t know how much of Britt and Brady’s relationship they will show during the course of the season, but I’m sure we’ll get updates on it. I had two exclusive reports of them in Nashville one weekend, then in San Diego in another weekend. Cameras weren’t around, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t around other times. They’re not going to completely ignore this relationship and I’m sure we’ll get updates. I just don’t know when and how many. Time will tell as the season goes on.

The 19 guys remaining after night one are:

Ben Zorn
Daniel Finney
Kupah James
Ben Higgins
Corey Stansell
Tanner Tolbert
Jared Haibon
Justin Reich
Clint Arlis
Shawn Booth
Cory Shivar
Ryan Beckett
Ian Thomson
Tony Harris
JJ Lane
Chris Strandburg
Jonathan Holloway
Joshua Albers
Joe Bailey

What a fitting ending for a girl who was only looking for fame and never looking for love to begin with.

I think if Kaitlyn only wanted fame she would’ve picked one of the guys and stuck it out for a few months. I am a little confused why she didn’t pick one of them…but I mean it can happen….really the lead doesn’t always fall in love….it’s happened several times..not just with Brad Womack. Juan Pablo really wasn’t in love with any of the girls but he just picked one for the heck of it. That Jesse Palmer guy wasn’t really either even though he picked one. And remember Jenn Scheft rejected both guys as well..just not in the same way. And that Doctor guy..he picked that teacher chick but broke up with her soon after..he was never into any of the girls either…same with Bob Guiney when he was the bachelor.

Still wondering how it all goes down though…at the end…does she reject both guys equally? Like in Brad’s season he kind of let Jenny go first as if DeAnna would’ve been his pic if he were forced to pick someone…not like it matters though cuz in the end he wasn’t into either of them. but just curious how Kaitlyn rejects both of them or if she favored one over the other. She should’ve just picked one (and dump him after the show) to appease the fans and make us not feel like we wasted our time haha.

Tbh, I’m not even surprised about this. Guess Britt was right about Kait not being serious about this. That’s what Mike Fleiss gets for rigging the votes, a wasted season or that’s what the guys get for being idiots and choosing Kaitlyn over Britt because she was more like amongst people that didn’t even know her. What I don’t get is why Kait didn’t give the opportunity to Britt if she obviously wasn’t serious about it. Well, go Britt for actually lasting in a relationship with Brady. I still think it should’ve been Britt all along.

I don’t really think it would be a waste of time to watch the show while knowing she picks neither guy. I can see why people would be upset but as long as the season is chock full of drama, I personally don’t really mind. It’s still entertainment and I kind of applaud her for not getting one of the guy’s hopes up just for the sole purpose of pleasing the fans. This was a realistic ending and I hope it’s at least a really dramatic one.

I really hope Chris is chosen to be the next Bachelor! My mind could be changed after watching this season but in my opinion, he’s the most attractive out of all three choices. And Josh just comes off as a complete douche bag to me.

I think it’s awesome that Kaitlyn didn’t cave to the pressure they must have put her under to get their cookie cutter ‘love story’ finale most fans want. It’s her life and I applaud her for taking the commitment of marriage seriously enough not to agree to some faux engagement just to appease the show’s producers, and the shows simpering fans. I wish her all the best and can’t wait for tonight!

If anything I think this shows she was MORE SERIOUS about it. If she was just looking for fame, she would have just picked someone, so that they could do all of the press tours afterwards, be in People magazine, etc.

I’m just glad she was serious at the end and knew she wasn’t going to marry any of them and let them all go.

In the first 9 seasons of this franchise, there were only 3 proposals (33%) and ever since Brad 1.0 its been a proposal EVERY season except JP, with a broken engagement a few months later. It’s become the norm, which takes away from how exciting it was in the early years.

And for everyone saying she took this away from Britt… Britt seems happily with a guy from this show and didn’t need to go through all of the drama to find him. So it’s a win for her too!

I can’t WAIT to watch this trainwreck unfold. Kaitlyn never wanted this. She wanted fame. But she was supposed to be the sincere one. Meanwhile Britt will probably be engaged to a guy she met through the show very soon. Too, too funny! Thanks, Steve!

So, there it is. 80% of this site was Pro-Kaitlyn, and now there are some really good reasons to turn on her. Yeah, there’s the “she picked nobody” thing, which will turn off anyone that wants the facade of a good love story. The Brad and Jen Scheft Haters will re-surface with a vengeance. Anyone who thinks Kaitlyn is getting a pass for this because she’s female doesn’t remember the hate that Jen got for her decision. Kaitlyn’s no decision also reinforces the idea that she wasn’t really wife material, was more casual about her relationships & was in it for the fame, face time & casual hookups. I know that’s going to anger some of the posters to this blog, because they were adamantly against the idea that Kaitlyn wasn’t a great catch & that she was more serious than some of us thought she was. But I think keeping Nick Cialis until her F2 will be the big killer for her. Nick is regarded as a whiny buffoon on this site & is universally despised. The fact that she was doing the reverse cowgirl with him at least once (maybe twice) in the Fantasy Suite is stomach turning. Some of the comments are indicating that fans of this site are already turning on her. And this site is not full of the crazies who believe the show is real. Can you imagine the reaction of the crazies? Time for Kaitlyn to dig a cellar and buy an Uzi.

In short, I couldn’t be more pleased. I found myself, as I was reading the spoilers, saying “please, if there is a God, let it be Bozo the Nick”. When I read to the part where Nick got to the F2 my heart was beating really fast…. “Yes, it’s going to be freaking Nick Cialis!!!”…. a little bit of a letdown on the whole “chose nobody” scenario. That’ll somewhat f’up the last show & allow no time for speculation on the eventual breakup. It probably also kills any chance for Kaitlyn to continue her 15 minutes. So, it will be a long silent period between the last show and the kickoff of The Bachelor. Oh well, you can’t have everything. But, the backlash will be like a Blitzkrieg.

    May 18, 2015 at 10:49 AM

Why all the hatred for Nick? I feel sorry for him. Sure, he called Andi out on the overnight date, but I thought she was fake anyway. He’s a nerd, but I’m totally not understanding why him getting dumped twice is so hilarious. That’s mean.

    May 18, 2015 at 10:54 AM

I like Nick and plan to watch since he’ll be on this season.

I think we can’t really accuse Kaitlyn of not being serious about this without watching the show. I don’t think she was anymore serious or fame seeking than Britt.

I agree that her not picking someone in the end could be a sign of her seriousness and honestly about this. Many leads in the past have picked someone knowing they would prob break up with them soonafter and were too chicken to not pick someone. But at the same time it’s disappointing to me that she didn’t fall for one of the guys….if this is even all true. RS seemed pretty sure Des picked Brooks….I think there’s still a small chance he’s wrong.

  12. nora j

    May 18, 2015 at 10:57 AM

Emrose…yeah I don’t understand all the hate for Nick. He was one of my favorite contestants! haha. Even RS seems to be hating on him. whatever. I don’t want to see Nick get hurt again though. Curious how this all goes down.

    May 18, 2015 at 10:57 AM

I can’t see how anyone views this as Kaitlyn just doing it for fame. That just makes no sense at all. If that were true she absolutely would have picked someone just for the media rounds and magazine covers, etc. and possibilities of future gigs stemming from this. She didn’t. She walked away from fame. Anyone who questions how seriously she took this no longer should. She didn’t want to propose to someone unless she knew she could see a future with them, and clearly none of these guys was ‘the one’. Now she doesn’t have to go through an inevitable embarrassing public breakup, good for her. Any former fans who are now “turning on her” are idiots and not intelligent enough to think it through beyond ‘oh boo. I don’t get my happily ever after’ too bad. She did what few others have had the balls to do and for that she should be admired.

    May 18, 2015 at 11:05 AM

One other thing to possibly consider. Kaitlyn is a Canadian citizen, and none of these guys are. It’s very possible she had little or no interest in moving to the US and getting status there, and in the same vein perhaps few of the guys wanted to make such a big life change, either. I have been going through the immigration process from the US to Canada for many years now, and it still isn’t completed. Trust me, it is a BIG deal and not something to just blithely dive into unless you’re 100% sure.

  15. nora j

    May 18, 2015 at 11:05 AM

Vessel….I agree. Makes no sense to assume that just because she doesn’t pick anyone. Of course it does seem sad that she didn’t end up picking someone…I have to admit it’s disappointing…not blaming anyone though.

Also I can’t believe Kaitlyn would fall for someone like Chris Soules but not Shawn B or Nick?? I’m thinking if circumstances were different and Chris S was one of her contestants she would NOT fall for him..most likely she got caught up with all the hype of falling for the lead?

  16. jessicat

    May 18, 2015 at 11:12 AM

Jen Scheft did the same thing – she didn’t choose anyone in the end. So this is nothing new. It was even before Brad’s season, so Brad wasn’t the first person to reject both of the final two.

  17. klm390

    May 18, 2015 at 11:34 AM

@vessel Completely agreed. I’m not even a total Kaitlyn fan because I’ve been neutral over the Kaitlyn VS. Britt situation for a few months now. But there’s just no solid evidence that she did this solely for fame and wasn’t serious. There is so much press after the finale that there’s no way she would have turned down one of the guys if she was only in it for fame. My guess is that she mostly agreed to the show for the experience (who wouldn’t?) along with some hope that she might actually find someone. This was her season and every fan knows that the bachelor/ette always has the option of not choosing anyone.

  18. rob22

    May 18, 2015 at 11:39 AM

OK. I partially agree that Kaitlyn could have extended her 15 minutes more by picking a random guy, doing the media tour and collecting checks. And obviously, she didn’t do that. But she went on the show knowing what the show was all about. So, she wasn’t some naive crazy who thought she’d find her soul mate. No, she got paid, liked the attention and fame it brought her, so she signed on the dotted line. Maybe in the end it was all too much, the guys were tools (as was apparent from the early write ups) and she just couldn’t bring herself to pick one of them. In short, perhaps her sanity returned. But nobody goes on this show these days, except some select nut cases, that isn’t partially in it for the fame. I’m sure it took some guts to stand up to the show & not pick somebody, but again, it’s not exactly precedent setting. It’s been twice before, so she knew she had the option.

Knew this was coming. I don’t think either Britt or Kaitlyn should have been the Bachelorette esp Kaitlyn. She just seemed like it was a big joke to her. Not that it matters but I never liked either one of them anyway.

Wow, surprising! I really liked Kaitlyn on Chris’s season and hope I still have a favorable opinion of her as this season unfolds. Often I realize I don’t like the person so much: BEN is the big example; also Jen S. and Des.

How can we say “see, she was just in it for the fame?” before seeing any of the show for ourselves. I’m reserving judgment, and if she’s being true to herself by walking away, then that’s a good thing (if a let-down because we haven’t seen a love story). That’s also a legit point about “if she were really in it for fame, she would have picked someone to better extend the 15 minutes.”

One of the most interesting things about this column is how Ian (one of the most appealing guys, from what little I’ve seen and read about him) leaves because he doesn’t think she’s there to find love. On the other hand, this whole sensitivity to “the right reasons” has reached a ridiculous level. If the producers cared that much, they would tailor more of the people on the show to who would actually be compatible with the lead. They did Chris no favors on that front, for example–not getting women who were used to a rural lifestyle.

Didn’t Jen Scheft do the same thing or something similar? (i.e. rejected both proposals, dated one for a minute before formally ditching him as well.)

Of course this was in the olden days so perhaps memory is incorrect.

@kim390 I agree she did the show for the experience, I think they all do it for that and nothing wrong with that, as you said, “who wouldn’t?”If someone finds a good match it’s a nice bonus, but no one should expect it. I’m just bracing myself for the crazies who will inevitably whine “But if she took the process seriously and was there ‘for the right reasons’ then why didn’t she fall in love, and why did she (groan) lead them on?” Just because you spend a few weeks of travel with 25 moderately attractive men-I think she got the worst group yet-does not guarantee one is a good life mate for you. The die hards didn’t get their (temporary) happy ending this time and I’m not looking forward to the inevitable tsunami of stupid comments to come.

I could have sworn Steve at some point, maybe it was during JP’s season, stated that after Brad 1.0 that the show would never allow the lead to choose no one, hence JP (even though no proposal) had to give a final rose. Anyone else remember that? I was sure he explained that it was in the contract they sign now, no?

@Del Scorcho, what is there to say in an interview? I mean I suppose she’ll get something with People. But after she explains that while she made friends and has respect for all the guys, yada yada yada, ultimately none of them clicked enough to see a future, what is left to say? It’s just not that interesting. I’m obviously guessing since the season has even started yet, but I just don’t see much public interest in a still single former Bachelorette once it’s all over with.

It certainly leaves her free to go on “Dancing with the Stars” next season, without some pesky fiancee scowling from the audience at her grinding all over her hot partner (Maybe Maks?).

She IS a dancer, after all. Maybe DWTS was her actual end-game.

I agree with RS 100%. If anything this will be one of the most real endings in a long time for Bachelor(ette). It’s just not normal to meet someone and roughly a month later, after only going out on a few dates, be ready and willing to accept a proposal from them, let alone go on and marry them.

Plus seeing Nick get screwed (literally) twice…. I’m once again with RS. I will pay to have him sit on the couch and ask Kaitlyn why she took a ride on his pogo stick.

Honestly, I look forward to this season the most just to see Nick get rejected… AGAIN. The fact that I’ll also get to read all the butt hurt Brit fans complain about how Britt would have been there to find true love and all that nonsense is just an added bonus. Britt was after the same thing as Kaitlyn. 15 minutes. Britt’s relationship won’t proceed to marriage either, just like the farmer and the baby maker wont’ be getting married or making any further babies together.

Being a woman actually opens up Kaitlyn to a particularly nasty kind of name calling that Brad was never subjected to.

    May 18, 2015 at 2:03 PM

No wonder they’re so enthused about weaving Britt’s off-screen love story into the mix. I’m sure that her and Brady will be at the After The Rejected Rose show once the season wraps up so that CH and Co. can ride hard on the “Yeah, but isn’t it great that Britt found love!” storyline. I wonder if they’ll be throwing Neil Lane rings at Brady in the hopes for a proposal to take the sour edge off the way things end. I do think Katilyn will get some hate for this season – mostly because of the Kaitlyn vs Britt drama and the fact that the producers basically shifted all the favouritism to Kaitlyn because social media went nuts to get her the role. It divided the fan base, so some are starting the season already thinking Kaitlyn is a bad choice.

  30. rob22

    May 18, 2015 at 2:42 PM

Consider, if you will, the reaction if RS wrote a spoiler that said that Kaitlyn picked Nick the Q-Tip. It really boggles the mind. I think she painted herself in a corner. If she picked Nick, the backlash would have been swift and terrible. Who knows what the other tool was like. I can’t assume he was much based on the general drift of all the muscle heads this time. If the guy was a total blockhead, that’s not very appetizing either. So yeah, I can see where “I pick nobody” might be the best way out. Just get me the f outta here, let me take about three days of media beatings & we’ll forget this ever happened.

Good for Kaitlyn. It’s funny that a woman making a choice that doesn’t comply with the show’s intended ending must mean she’s only fame seeking and not serious. It’s actually the other way around…what sane person gets engaged to a stranger so soon?

@rob22….please add paragraph breaks to your droning….I mean comments. Thanks.

Love him or hate him, Nick deserves his chance as the lead, and he earned it too… He put in his dues… He might make a fantastic bachelor, he already knows what to expect and all the stuff u gotta deal with in this show. Further, love him or hate him; it gets people talking… Which is what apparently the show loves to do.

I kind of feel like this season will be boring. I don’t necessarily watch for a proposal or anything, mostly just for entertainment. As far as the new Bachelor goes, I think Shawn or Chris. Josh was the “winner” on his season, and he just doesn’t seem like a good fit to me. I’m leaning more towards Shawn, one because we had a “Chris” as the Bachelor last season, and two, he was one of her final two, and ended up getting rejected by her anyways…

I think Nick deserves exactly what he gets. Karma, baby. He was arrogant, dismissive and snotty in Andi’s season.

He threw himself back in the ring for this season, so it’s just another instance of just deserts. You reap what you sow, and he sowed sour grapes. Thus his “reward” is to be shown the door again. He “deserves” no chance at being lead in my opinion. He’s had his 15 minutes, now step aside Nick.

And he needs to quit dragging his poor family into these failed hookups. They seemed nice and really don’t deserve to keep being humiliated at his hands.

I don’t hate him, as I don’t know him. But I am very tired of seeing him within this franchise,

@bitsyvonbusty- No, this is not a gender issue. If Chris Soules had picked nobody, the same criticism would’ve followed him: that he did it for the exposure, fame. I know people want to believe in this show, but here is the reality, MOST of these people go on it to be famous and get something out of it (financially and socially). Kaitlyn is no different.

Nick as the next Bachelor? C’mon now. Never going to happen. You have to be likable, it’s like the minimum requirement. No one in the house even liked him and they used that as a storyline in Andi’s season, and it sounds as though it’s a thing this go ’round as well.

I didn’t realize McDill was Nikki’s ex-BF – which means he was essentially there for comic relief or he just wants to get back with Nikki and never wanted to date Kaitlyn or Britt. He just wanted to be infamous for 15 minutes. Nick was allowed back on the show to be a twist, remember Soules let 2 different girls come back for a 2nd chance as a twist. It helps with ratings and Nick is well-known to Bachelor fans, and would keep B-Fans tuning in if they didn’t like Kaitlyn. It would have been weird PR if she picked Nick in the end, but also equally bad to come in 2nd again. Maybe Kaitlyn really did like Nick a lot. The Shawn guy looks like Ryan Gosling. She probably could have faked an engagement for a few months with Shawn, no one really knows each other because they are only spending 1 hour a day and only 2 nights together as a couple. They don’t even get a full weekend alone as a couple before the finale. Its too rushed. Maybe they filmed alternate endings to fool spoilers. Kaitlyn is still super-hot and will have plenty of guys lining up to date her after the show, maybe she’s got some rich guy chasing after her. Its worth it watching her cuz she’s so attractive, even if she picks no one.

Steve, I think you meant to write “Kaitlyn” instead of Britt here: “Ian Thomson talks to Britt before rose ceremony and tells her he didn’t think she was there for the right reasons and walks off.” This was under week 5 or something.

Kaitlyn fans will continue to make excuses for and imagine the motives as fact of this woman none of you have met, whose season none of you have seen, and be negative toward Britt. As I’ve said many times, Dance Instructor/wannabe rapper, who jested meanly- sometimes cruelly – about her fellow housemates, never struck me as being seriously interested in finding a husband anywhere. DWTS, yes, that interest I could see. (Although I wasn’t impressed by her breakdancing or rapping.) A husband in or from the US, with the citizenship rigamarole on either side? Unlikely. My objection to her was the same as for Arie – a little too obviously not there to find a mate at all. But here she is, and if it weren’t for the entertaining blogs, I wouldn’t bother.

There are tons of ways she can prolong her 15 minutes after it’s all over. For example, start dating any of the guys – Nick would be a bombshell. A clever publicist could come of with plenty of ideas and probably will. How many people who know much about “The Bachelor” aren’t familiar with the name Brad Womack?

I think Britt got the best deal of the two of them.

    May 18, 2015 at 7:48 PM

Well, it sounds entertaining enough, and I don’t really have a problem with her not choosing a guy. I understand why most of the matches aren’t long term. I mean, they barely get to know one another. It’s all for entertainment, and maybe the slight chance that you’ll meet someone you’d want to date. I don’t get why the show is so adamant about engagements. Guess they want to wrap it up in a nice bow, but meh.

Really wasn’t fair to bring Nick on the show, even if she wasn’t in a relationship with him. I’m not sure how to feel about Kaitlyn there.

I didn’t watch Andi’s season, but I’m not really into Josh being the next Bachelor. Can’t explain where that’s coming from as I’ve never watched him.

    Thanks for the spoilers.

After watching tonight all I can say is thank cod that Britt is not the bachelorette. Having to watch her again made me want to stick a sharp object in my eye to get rid of the pain.

Has anyone noticed how Britt talks over people? It’s like she’s not really listening to the person. Maybe it’s not an act like it seems, and she just tries too hard to be likeable?? Whatever it is, it’s annoying.

As for Kaitlyn not picking anyone, I’m sure she will get plenty of hate from the “bachelor nation”. You have to have a thick skin to go on a show like this. She will be hated by some no matter what she does. The men this season are not impressive. Yuck!

    May 18, 2015 at 10:53 PM

It sort of makes sense now why she allowed Nick back on the show. She obviously wasn’t into any of these guys and she’d already been in contact with Nick and maybe just wanted him there because she already knew she liked him and got along with him. First of all, I think most of the guys were too young. Isn’t she 30? Why would she want to date a 26-year old? I’m still glad she’s the lead even if she didn’t pick anyone because she’s witty and brings a more light-hearted mood to the show. It’ll be fun watching her deal with these d-bags. I like Nick and I wouldn’t be surprised if the two of them worked out a deal – I’ll take you back on the show and bring you to F2 and you keep me company and keep the d-bags away and in the end, I won’t choose anyone.

  44. rob22

    May 19, 2015 at 5:55 AM

After watching, I agree that Ryan was a plant & was encouraged to be “that guy” on night one. It wasn’t very believable. Sure, drunks might do anything, but all the antics seemed calculated and prompted, including: the producers putting a few guys up to confronting him so he could be a jack wagon to them, Ryan’s sitting outside during the limo entrances and telling hot tub guy he sucks, and dressing in a speedo (he just happened to have on hand) for an obnoxious pool romp. And, obviously going way over the edge when he grabbed at Kaitlyn’s lady bits.

Then (new paragraph for Bitsy) he meekly leaves when weasel Harrison asks him to? A lot of deference there. A real drunk rage-a-holic would have gone postal. Totally not buying it.

  45. thatguy181

    May 19, 2015 at 5:56 AM

I’m curious what about Ryan seemed fake to you Rosey? I’ve a friend who, while a completely normal, sane, (dare I say civilized) person while not drunk, after a few shots of tequila becomes a raging turd who should for all intents and purposes honestly just be shot on the spot and he honestly can’t remember anything he did when you talk with him about it the next day.

Man, I almost forgot why I was so happy to read that Kaitlyn beat out Brit… Then after last night… All came flooding back to me. Britt the actress, Britt the tool, Brit the phony. Sad to think anyone is remotely attracted to her (or that some of the guys even claim she’s the prettier of the two, but we all have the right to our opinions [even when they’re wrong]).

    May 19, 2015 at 6:33 AM

Good for Britt for escaping the lunacy of this show. Kaitlyn is as crass as ever and deserves the nutbars who call themselves serious candidates. Although from her perspective it’s adding to her 15 mins of fame so no doubt a win in Kaitlyn’s eyes. I’m watching the show because Steve’s column makes it entertaining no matter who the bachelorette is. That Britt is the only one who found a serious relationship doesn’t surprise me. Kaitlyn wouldn’t do well in a ballroom dance competition. She’d have to learn how to really dance for starters. Kaitlyn may live in Canada but she was born in the US or has at least one American parent. Moving to the US wouldn’t be difficult for her as I’m pretty sure she has dual citizenship.

In Kaitlyn’s defence, Chris should have told Ryan in no uncertain terms why he was being ousted from the show. Not the “not here for the right reasons” nonsense. How about a clear statement that sexual harassment won’t be tolerated, nor the derogatory references to women, or the general harassment of other male competitors. Chris Harrison’s words were meek and silly.

  48. brick

    May 19, 2015 at 6:40 AM

Considering how much the show producers love drama, they’re probably not happy they had no choice but to let Ryan go early. If he’d “only” been an unlikeable bully no doubt they’d have kept him. The show’s lawyer probably advised them that keeping on a guy who engages in sexual harassment could get them into trouble. It was more out of concern for themselves than Kaitlyn, I’m guessing.

@rob22….thanks babe. Winky face. Smiley face.

Watching Britt is difficult for me. Yes I’m sure she’s a nice person, but her everybody needs to like me personality is just exhausting. Her overly enthusiastic oohs and aahs to whatever any guy said were too much. Heck, someone could’ve told her they were constipated and she would have responded, “oh my god, right? I totally get that. I’m constipated all the time.”

Shawn Booth looks like Ryan Gosling??? I suppose so….if Ryan Gosling got his head stuck between the bus doors.

@Bitsy couldn’t agree more about Britt. Last night was painful, I winced at every stupid thing she said. In under 10 seconds she managed to say “This way (2 Bachelorettes) is more organic!” and “We know that this process works!” Okay, organic? Hun, nothing about this franchise is even close to that. I highly doubt she even knows what the word means. And secondly, the process works?!?!?!?!?!?! My jaw hit the floor. Yes, that is why the failure rate is so high, because it works. What an idiot.
