Dr. Reality Steve

“Reader Emails,” “Dr. Reality Steve,” BIP News, & Live Video Chat Tonight at 9:00pm EST/6:00pm PST

So today is a first. A few months back, Olivia and Nicholas’ school had an auction and my sister put up a “Lunch with Reality Steve” for bid. That lunch is happening today. I don’t know the women who purchased this thing (although my sister tells me I’ve met one of them before) but they’re all mothers from the kids’ school who are fans of the site. This should be interesting. Looking forward to it though since I need to prep myself for the questions that’ll be thrown my way this coming weekend in Vegas I’m sure. I’m always up for when people ask me questions about the show. Especially when it’s “Why is the driveway always wet.” Those are my favorite ones. Hey, at least it’s at South Coast Plaza today, since I need to go to Nordstrom’s to do some shopping before the trip tomorrow. Now I get to kill two birds with one stone. Win Win!

Speaking of Vegas, since I’m leaving tomorrow, as I mentioned yesterday the live video chat will be happening tonight at 9:00pm EST/6:00pm PST, so join me tonight as we talk about all things “Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” related. Unfortunately, Olivia will be at soccer practice so she won’t be joining tonight, and Nicholas has the attention span of a fly, so I doubt he’ll want to come on. Olivia is much more interested in this anyway as Nicholas still doesn’t fully comprehend what I do. All he knows is “Reality Steve” and that’s about it. He just thinks the whole thing is silly – which it is.

I know a few of you have been asking about “Bachelor in Paradise” recently, and having been in CA since last Friday, I’m kinda out of the loop on latest news. What I do know is contestants are already down in Mexico and they arrived this past weekend, even some arriving Monday. Which to me means the show begins filming today or tomorrow. All 4 summer shows they’ve done (Bachelor Pad 1-3, Bachelor in Paradise last summer) all began filming the first week of June, so this is right on track with those). As far as I know, it looks to be somewhat of the same format as last season where they’ll be an original cast, then people will join the show throughout the process as others leave. It’s impossible to pinpoint who the original cast is because everyone that’s there right now might not be on episode 1. They could be arriving in ep 2 or 3. So here’s a list of names that I’ve heard will be on the show at some point this season. Obviously subject to change, but here’s what I have so far:

Jade Roper (Chris’ season)
Ashley Iaconetti (Chris)
Megan Bell (Chris)
Carly Waddell (Chris)
Ashley Salter (Chris)
Jillian Anderson (Chris)
Tenley Molzahn (Jake’s season, Bachelor Pad)
Cassandra Ferguson (Juan Pablo’s season)
Chelsie Webster (Juan Pablo)
Jaclyn Swartz (Ben’s season, Bachelor Pad 3)

Jonathan Holloway (Kaitlyn’s season)
Joe Bailey (Kaitlyn)
Tanner Tolbert (Kaitlyn)
Joshua Albers (Kaitlyn)
Jared Haibon (Kaitlyn)
Justin Reich (Kaitlyn)
Kirk DeWindt (Ali’s season, Bachelor Pad 2)
Mikey Tenerelli (Des’ season)
Michael Garofola (Des)
Brian Osborne (Andi’s season)

That’s 20 names. Last season, I believe 25 different people appeared at some point, so there’s obviously more that will be showing up. These are the ones I’ve heard so far but have no idea who’s part of the original cast. Other names I’m hearing being thrown around are Cody, Brooks, Clare, Erica Rose, and Chris Bukowski (yes, Chris Bukowski again) but I have no idea how solid that info is. Practically everyone who’s ever been on this show gets asked, so you don’t know until they actually show up on set if they made the show. Mikey Tenerelli was flown out last season and stayed in a Mexican hotel for a week thinking he was gonna be on then they changed their mind and sent him home. So yeah, just because someone might be out there doesn’t mean they are guaranteed on the show. As we move further along, I’m sure I’ll start hearing more names and what happens. I always do. For the time being though, please refrain from the “But what about this person. I heard they were on” emails. Every name I just mentioned are the ones I’ve heard. We will all know soon enough who’s in the original cast and who came on later.

Now on to “Reader Emails” and “Dr. Reality Steve”….

Is JJ really a douche or did producers encourage that speech he gave? Also, the articles about Kaitlyn refer to her as a former dance teacher. Is she seeking fame now or did she just find a new job? Seems like a lot of people use the show as an opportunity to quit their job and then find something better based on the notoriety they get from the being on tv.

Comment: I’m forgetting which speech of JJ’s you’re referring to. The one about his daughter?

I honestly don’t know what Kaitlyn does for work, but yes, a lot of them have jobs that are easily quittable and hope to capitalize on what being the lead could bring them. Kaitlyn is no different.

Happy Birthday Steve, Hope Vegas treats you well.

A couple of questions.

1. When Nick comes back, have you heard if he comes off as a complete d**khead to the rest of the guys and the audience again like last season? Or will he just be hated because of last season. I know he whined to because he got “hazed” so I am guessing he acts the exact same as last season. He’s immediately not well liked just because of who he is and the guys not really agreeing with Kaitlyn he should be allowed on the show. I’d be bothered if I were one them. Not just because it’s Nick, but why should he get to join after the show has already started when most others always say, “It’s just not fair to the rest of them.”

2. I know you’ve probably heard enough of Ryan. But you mentioned that there was a ton of footage of him doing / saying even worse stuff than what was aired. Do you happen to know what any of that was? I can imagine it was probably offensive but also probably very funny.

Comment: Apparently it was just stuff he was saying. Sexual comments directed towards the women and what not. Not to mention being so hammered to the point where he couldn’t stand up. Go look at the group shot of the guys and Ryan on the end. Ryan was not in good shape during that picture.

Hi Steve,

I usually write in for Bachelorette stuff but I like your sports analysis. Big Warriors fan here and I’m a little pissed they couldn’t close things up on Monday. I actually watched the game instead of the Bachelorette, I can’t stand Kaitlin and I will only read your site for spoilers and recap this season just like I did for Andi because I couldn’t stand her either.

Anyways, my question is what are your playoff predictions? Warriors have a chance to close it up today. If Warriors win the West who do you think will win the playoffs and why? Cavs or Warriors? If a miracle occurred and Houston came back to win the West (God forbid) do you think they have a chance?

Comment: Yes, I think the Warriors will win it all. A fully healthy Cavs team I think could’ve given them a run, but with a banged up Kyrie and no Love, I don’t see where they stand a chance. I think Warriors win in 6. They’re too good defensively and are the best passing team we’ve seen in a while.

Happy Birthday! You and I share the same birthday :).

Do you think they’d ever actually make Amy Schumer the Bachelorette? It would probably break the ratings records!

Comment: Not going to happen.

Hey Steve,

So I am new to the “Survivor” fan base, and have been watching some old seasons. I swear Parvati Shallow is Kaitlyn’s long lost twin! She reminds me so much of Kaitlyn. And I agree that Kaitlyn should really do stand up, her bit was so much better than the guys (and actually made me laugh). Thanks for the spoilers-I really enjoy reading your commentary.

Comment: Yeah, I can see the Kaitlyn/Parvati resemblance. I think it’s the cheeks when they smile.

Like so many others, I have no problem admitting that you make the show worthwhile… sort of. Meaning I actually don’t even watch the show, just read your column and check out the clips. That’s more than enough Bachelor/ette for me.

I’m curious about the ratio of ‘real’ contestants vs model/actor/performer. It seems more and more of the contestants already have some professional something on their resume – modeling, music videos, whatever. And some contestants you tell us are friends of someone involved in the show (on occasion anyway).

A few years ago they did Bachelor Pad – with all prior bachelor/ette contestants and then added one “fan” to the mix that was basically ignored and shunned by the others as though she just wasn’t good enough for them, but supposedly they were once in her shoes… since it’s supposed to be just people looking for love.

So I’m wondering how many of the bachelor/ettes are actually just your average person who goes through the process as advertised when they put out the ‘looking for contestant’ pieces vsthe c-list “celebrity” – someone who has already has some level of show biz background and possibly sought after by the show?

Thank you!

Comment: Actually on “Bachelor Pad” they cast 5 or 6 fans not just one – and none of them made it past the 4th episode. Yeah, that experiment failed. They tried something different, but if you’re not already part of this show’s clique, you’re not gonna fit in.

I still say most of the contestants on this show don’t have IMDB pages or have prior acting experience. But they will keep people on file for seasons and seasons and seasons and keep asking them if they really want them.

Comment: Larry, Mo, and Curly. She chooses Curly in the end and they have a baby on the way.

Hello Steve

I have been a fan from the beginning and look forward to your spoilers for the different shows. So I have to ask you. Did you have any idea that two of the bachelors on the bachelorette this season are in love? Clint and JJ? I have to say Kaitlyn’s season is looking like a huge mess. Can’t wait to see what else happens!

Comment: You didn’t really believe that promo, did you? Oh wait, yes you did.

It’s editing. JJ and Clint weren’t in love.

Longtime reader, since about Brad 2.0 and hearing the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning endorsements. In my opinion, yours is the only credible spoiler site on the web – especially since you’ve corrected yourself the 2 percent of the times something was wrong.

Anyways, I blame you for why I “care” to vent – kidding. I know you can’t speak to the minds of Andi or Kaitlyn, but is anyone able to explain why would either woman have an attraction to let Nick get so far? He’s not attractive. During Andi’s season, he looked like he had denture paste coming out of his teeth; and then he has the personality of a weasel, or maybe that’s his beady eyes. So what is it? Is he that financially stable they think they can overlook his doucheness, but it proves too much? While irked he weasels his way into Kaitlyn’s season, the only solace I find is your spoiler stating he doesn’t make it to the end. Thank Baby Jesus. Any Cheeto videos when Kaitlyn sends him packing? Did he hoard all his roses like in Andi’s season? God help us up there’s another picture book … Maybe he has some level of intelligence for being able to weasel one not one but two seasons of this franchise. What producer’s butt is he kissing? Geez, why can’t his 15 minutes be up already? Then again, I don’t comprehend how Chris Bukowski slithers his away around either. * End rant*

Side notes on this season’s look-a-likes: JJ looks like Luke Wilson, Clint favors Green Bay Packer Clay Matthews, and Ben H. looks like a young Donny Osmond.

Comment: Different strokes for different folks. Attraction is purely subjective.

Was just reading this week’s emails in your column about whether Josh wanted to be the Bachelor and it reminded me that he was on a local morning show here in Toronto a few weeks back saying that he would do it. Skip ahead to 4:10 into the interview:

Also, my opinion of how “serious” Kaitlyn is about the process is actually enhanced by the fact that she didn’t pick anyone. Instead of going along with someone just to please the show, she followed her heart. Good for her. And good for her for sleeping with as many guys as she felt was necessary to figure out what/who she wanted.

Curious: do American viewers really think she has a Canadian accent?

Comment: It’s why I’m enjoying her so far. She doesn’t give robotic, canned, PC answers in her ITM’s. You know exactly what she really thinks of guys. That’s refreshing to see. Not to mention she went through the process and didn’t feel the need to get engaged to anyone, which is the smart thing to do.

I can’t speak for all America viewers, but I can definitely notice the Canadian accent. I mean, it’s not like it’s thick, but it has its subtleties that I can definitely pick up on.

You always get it right especially when you stated early on that Chris Soules was not there to marry anyone on the show….It had to be something other than the track record, although abysmal as it is, that you were hearing? They played it out until after the start of the new season of Katlyn/Brit which they know now does not end well either. It just cannot be pleasant to play the contract game when you are not feeling it??? I mean, I’ve heard things over the last year but it’s not stuff that I can share unfortunately. Some things I’ve been told about this show I’m loyal to my sources on. If I could, I would. But I can’t on this one.

I am not watching the new season, could not care less…just need your column and that is it…Not too many Sean Lowe’s and Jason Mesnick’s out there…Chris Soules was so unappealing and actually came off as a phony baloney anyway…not a good dancer either…If Whitney had watched the show, she would ended it at the finale….What a dopey guy with a dopey laugh…

Comment: Ok. Thanks for reading.

Love reading your site! I’m curious who you’re employed by. I keep thinking you are hired by abc to draw more attention to the show. Am I way off??? 🙂

And Happy Birthday! Wish I could be there for the fun!

Comment: Yes, you are way off. I’m employed by myself.

Still amazed I get asked this question after all these years and two lawsuits against me.

Every season we always have that one contestant that gets totally drunk and acts like a fool (or mcdill’ed as youd say). But have you ever heard of the Lead getting absolutely drunk to a point where a cocktail party or a date had to be canceled or rescheduled?

Comment: To that point of canceling their own rose ceremonies? No. Never heard of that. I think Jillian self admittedly drank the most as a lead.

Hi Steve,

So I read this article when it first came out 3 years ago, but I re-read it today after I saw it pop up on Cracked’s Facebook page and wondered if you had ever read it. It has some of the same insight that you give in how “real” reality tv really is. They specifically talk about The Bachelor in it too.

Thanks for doing what you do!

Comment: Yep. That’s about as accurate as you can get. Yet, there will be people that still believe this show is on the up and up and every audio clip they hear is genuine and authentic. The phrase “Well you said it, so it couldn’t have been edited” is about the farthest thing from the truth that I’ve heard people say about the editing. Sure you might’ve said it, but it could’ve been answering a question that had nothing to do with the context that it was shown in. And if the context it was shown in is done to embarrass or defame you, then yeah, that proves the statement wrong.

With that said, 30 seasons in if you don’t know what you’re signing up for by now, that’s your fault, not the show’s. The show is manipulative, vindictive, exploiting, and every other word you can think of that’s not nice. They know they are but that’s what earns them their paychecks so they do it. It’s why UnREAL is so interesting because it dives into the moral compass of some of these producers like Rachel. Yeah they know what they’re doing is morally questionable, but they still do it because it’s almost like a rush.

Watched UN-Real. Some of it was entertaining, and some of it was just plain painful to watch. Watching addict in chief Rachel cynically manipulate some pretty self absorbed people at the direction of some real a-holes that run the show was just gross. Not entertaining.

I’ll give it another episode. First episodes can be tough since they have to spend so much time setting up the context & introducing characters. But, it the second episode isn’t better, this show isn’t going to be around long. I mean, you can’t have a show that’s just a collection of terrible people trying to get the most attention and screw one another. Except for the Kardashians, of course.

I have a Dr Realitysteve question that I didn’t get to submit on time. maybe now is a DrRob22 and Dr Vessel question. So here it goes, lemme know your thoughts y’all. I have been dating this guy who works at my same work building for a year an a half (our building has several floors with different companies). Early last year he asked me to be exclusive and I accepted.
About 2 months ago we started having some stupid fights, we were very stressed at our jobs, so we both decided to cool things down a bit and have some time apart. Having said so, during those two months, we kept emailing, texting, etc, almost every day and we would see each other during the weekends and would go out to the movies, dinner, etc, and yes, we slept together. So really not a lot changed from before. Last week he wrote me telling me that he “has been dating.” From his letter I inferred that he has been going out in dates for 2 months (he is actually very attractive). I didn’t see that coming, so I asked him why he didn’t tell me earlier, that I thought we were exclusive and why did he sleep with me two weeks ago without telling me he had been already with someone else(elses?) and why he told me he loved me just 2 weeks ago. He said he didn’t remember asking me being exclusive last year, and that from his point of view we broke up since March. He said that maybe in the future we can get back together when we are both in different places.
I was very angry and wrote him that that’s not going to happen and that we couldn’t be friends, ever.
He answered back saying that he is “in love with me but that he doesn’t think we are going to work out because we have so many miscommunications and our fights”
    So here are my questions
    1) He has a small, easy surgery next week but he won’t be able to drive home afterwards, I had offered to drive him but now I feel so uncomfortable. He told me yesterday that he was gonna ask “his date’ to see if she could drive him, but it seems she won’t be able to. Shall I drive him? I feel terrible because he is new in the area and has no friends (with the exception of his dates of course) and when I had a surgery last year he drove me home, so I kind of feel that I “owe” him that
    2) he wrote me yesterday that he missed me. Of course I miss him and I still love him. But I don’t know what to answer… HELP!

Kaitlyn does not have a Canadian accent. She’s not from Newfoundland or Quebec, and those are the only Canadians who have a distinguishable accent of any kind. SMH at the ignorance of some people.

  5. angelfish

    June 3, 2015 at 11:02 AM

If her accent isn’t Canadian, jessicat, then what is it?

I’m not Canadian, but I have Canadian cousins and I can absolutely, positively, without a doubt hear that they sound differently from me. And they are not from either Newfoundland or Quebec.

She definitely grew up in Canada. And has spent most of her life there. How can she not sound like other Canadians?

Instead of “SMH” at perceived ignorance, why not explain what you mean?

  6. jessicat

    June 3, 2015 at 11:07 AM

    I already explained myself, thanks.

I’m from Canada and most Canadians do not have a distinguishable accent – they sound just like most Americans. There are a lot of stereotypes about the Canadian accent that are based on the way people from Newfoundland talk: “aboot” instead of “about”, etc.

  7. jessicat

    June 3, 2015 at 11:09 AM

I’m not trying to paint all Americans with the same brush, but there is a lot of ignorance about Canada. If you think your cousins speak differently, then I guess that’s your opinion. I travel to the US a lot and most Americans sound no different to me than my fellow Canadians do.

  8. jessicat

    June 3, 2015 at 11:13 AM

It’s just like in the US: people from different areas of the country speak differently. It’s silly to peg someone as having a “Canadian accent” when how you speak depends on where you’re from specifically. I would never be so ignorant as to refer to the “American accent” as being how people from the southern states speak, for example.

    June 3, 2015 at 11:13 AM

@jay2 lol I am far from a relationship expert, but I wouldn’t drive him if I were you. It sounds like you’ve been jerked around by him, he’s given you mixed messages, etc. I’d extricate myself from the whole thing and move on. I’m sure he can find someone to give him a lift home, it’s really not your responsibility if you aren’t together, which he has told you is the case now. You have a right to be angry, and if he really was “in love with you” he wouldn’t in the same breath be saying he needs to be with other people because of your communication issues. He’d work it out with you. Don’t let guilt because he drove you in a similar situation home sway you. Circumstances have changed now. However if you do cave and give him a lift I’d leave it at that, and I would start seeing other people. Good luck!

@jessicat I’m American but live in Ontario and there are plenty of people in this province who pronounce words differently than in the US. It isn’t necessarily an ‘accent’ but certain words are noticeable to my American ear. I give my Canuck husband grief on the daily for his ‘aboots’ and the way he says ‘house’ and ‘pasta’, etc. I think that is what people are referring to when they claim K has an accent. I notice certain words she says, also.

  10. vessel

    June 3, 2015 at 11:18 AM

@jessicat I just read your most recent responses. My husband was born and raised in Toronto and he says ‘aboot’ for sure. Probably to a lesser degree than a Newfie, granted, but I notice it every single time he says it.

One thing I noticed is the way Kaitlyn says the word ‘drama’. I immediately turned to my husband and asked “who says it that way?” and he told me plenty of Canadians do.

Going out on a limb here Steve, but is it by any chance your birthday party in LV this weekend? Geesshhh

On another note, I am from Alberta and I can definitely most positively tell a Canadian accent from an American one. Just like you can always tell a Canadian show from an American one based on accents. It’s just different.

  12. rob22

    June 3, 2015 at 11:57 AM

@jay: One problem is in the definition of love. For a guy like this, he may mean by “I love you” that he thinks you’re hot & is attracted to you & probably enjoys sex with you. And possibly even likes being around you (when it suits him)”. The actual definition of love, for the very few that apply it correctly, is that of a “verb”. The verb “to love”. In other words, to actively have the other person’s interest as a priority over your own. I love you means that I will do anything for you to make your life better, even if I have to put myself out & do something not in my own best interests to accomplish that love. It is being selfless.

Now, does that definition of love sound like what your ex is doing with you? Errrrr…. no, right? So, he doesn’t love you. He loves himself, and when sleeping with you, or being exclusive with you is in his own best interests, he’s all in. That’s what he calls love. Otherwise, if he has to put himself out….. eh, he doesn’t love you so much. So, let’s not get confused. What he’s calling love, is not really love. He has the “warmies” for you. That’s different.

Drive him? You don’t owe him anything. He’s your ex. I’d be OK with it if I didn’t think it would drag you back into the muck (if you had made a clean break and weren’t sort of still swimming around in a past relationship). But, I suspect that your driving him will result in a continuation of a thoroughly un-rewarding non relationship. You still have a level of emotional investment, so you need a clean break. Ex’s are better off remaining Ex’s and people you never see again. Or, if you have to see him because of work, someone you nod at as you pass them in hall, never again stopping to converse with them. That allows you to move on to other, better possibilities.

This is the major point. Getting sucked into bad to mediocre relationships and remaining there (in any form) only prevents you from finding a great relationship.

Sorry vessel & shouldbe, but obviously we are IGNORANT, according to jessicat. And she’s Canadian, so she must know. She said it more than once. And “shook her head”.

  17. vessel

    June 3, 2015 at 1:45 PM

@angelfish- I’m actually used to the irritation bordering on anger up here. Living in Canada I’ve seen my share of Canadians who get REALLY pissed off at Americans because many people in the US don’t know much about Canada, or Canadian culture, and jokes about ‘eh’ and ‘hoser’ abound and they resent it (not saying this is you, jessicat, just my experience in the 8 years I’ve lived up here). My brother in law is like that, it took years for him to accept me and stop seeing me as the enemy just because I’m a US citizen.

That said I hear what people are talking about in the way Kaitlyn pronounces some things, and I heard it in Jillian, too, who isn’t from Newfoundland or Quebec either.

So Josh Murray is number one on their list for next Bach. Doesn’t it seem like it’s already a done deal? His smile almost gave him away in that TV interview. But who knows. Maybe they’re waiting to see how the fans react to the final few guys on this season.

  19. gromon85

    June 3, 2015 at 2:34 PM

This season has gotten so boring, that the main topics of discussion in the comment sections are Chick-fil-A and Canadian accents 😀 LOL. I hope it will get more interesting once Nick enters the picture.

  20. angelfish

    June 3, 2015 at 3:33 PM

Understood, @vessel. I can take being called just about anything but ignorant.

I definitely am on board the Josh for Bach train. Unless one of the other guys proves to be a stand-out, or Josh shoots himself in the foot, I think he’s got the gig.

As for Nick, I can absolutely do without seeing his pubic-hair covered noggin and sneering/smirking face staring out from my TV screen. He was a bad idea in Andi’s season and a worse idea in this one. Idiot.

  21. Athena

    June 3, 2015 at 3:48 PM

    Good relationship advice, you two!

In terms of Josh…oh my…. He’s handsome, and has the Murray pedigree. What’s not to like?

Well, even though this show has become a total parody of itself, is there a single person reading these comments that believes, even for a nanosecond, that he is truly seeking love and commitment? I’d like to see someone new.

    June 3, 2015 at 3:54 PM

@ jay2, well what can I say because when I was younger I was stupid enough to entangle my life with (all due respect) LOSERS. Unless it’s family, don’t waste your time, people like that are just using you.

  23. vessel

    June 3, 2015 at 4:00 PM

I think Josh has it, too, for a number of reasons. Obviously I haven’t seen how the ending plays out, but I’d guess they would prefer the whole ‘another shot at finding love’ for Josh over reminding people of a season where the lead chose no one. I mean it isn’t like Chris and Shawn lost Kaitlyn to someone else and were left rejected, humiliated and holding a ring. I dunno, I just feel like if she chooses no one, then no guy from her season stands out as the sympathetic character you’re pulling for.

  24. rob22

    June 3, 2015 at 6:49 PM

@Jay: you’re welcome. You deserve better and the only way you’ll get better is to move on.

Been watching the Canadian accent discussion with amusement. Though I’m quite sure people in different parts of Canada have different accents, I wouldn’t know what they are. But clearly Kaitlyn doesn’t speak like an American. I knew she was Canadian before they said it on the show.

  25. purplerayne

    June 3, 2015 at 8:15 PM

Regarding Josh, he might be cute but he has certain red flags : extremely religious (might be an issue for those who are non practicing or agnostic), he’s a bit simple (main hobbies are working out and sports), and besides Andi, his longest relationship was a few months. Those were the reasons I knew he and Andi would never work long term. Still, he would make a great lead (charismatic, outgoing) but the girls shouldn’t get their hopes up.

The way people are reacting to kaitlyn, one would think she had a gangbang at the first rose ceremony. Good grief. She’s being real, what we would want from a lead, yet that’s somehow distasteful. And why do folks after so many seasons still make comments about the “depth” of these contestants. Editing! Producers! Boring normal conversations are never shown. And as we saw in UnReal, the producers often encourage conservations to stay light. I might have issues with some of her decisions but man, the hate she is receiving is pure bs.

Josh is obviously attractive, but not really my type. I felt the same with Chris Soules, though. I think I’d prefer someone from Kaitlyn’s season, but I don’t have a feel for them yet. But since RS says Josh is who tptb want most, and he appears into it, I think I’d better just accept it now. He’s got so many IG followers.

Gotta say I’m starting to see why Kaitlyn was in lust with Nick. The dark side had cookies. At first I was kinda disappointed she brought him on, but it’s really not that late in the game. Of course it isn’t fair to the other guys.. I don’t think anyone can deny that. She seemed ridiculously happy to see him though. I guess she could’ve dated Nick without accepting the Bachelorette gig, but that’s one appealing offer to turn down for something that she wasn’t sure of. So maybe they assured Kaitlyn they’d bring Nick on for her at some point. And it didn’t work out. I’m not gonna judge. I still like her.

@jay……the nerve of this guy to tell you he’s seeing someone else and “can you pick me up from the hospital?”

Would you ever treat someone like that? Probs not.

Move on. Lose contact. Take care of yourself and soon you’ll find love again with someone more deserving.

If they do break the formula and pick Josh, that is really just confirming that they know that NONE of the current crop of guys is up to that level. That’s the big issue this year. The guys are not compelling. It says something when the show isn’t even going to wait until the end of the season to see if any guys start to pick up any type of following. I imagine they will do that, but they’re not getting their hopes up.

When it’s not there & you force it anyway, just to keep with the formula, you end up with Juan Pah-blow. Well, at least maybe they’ve learned from that mistake. Hopefully they will learn that portraying their lead as a slut and the guys as a bunch of low-brow, unintelligent, uber-edited fake-gay tools wasn’t the best strategy either.

On the Canadian discussion, we have several execs in our office that are Canadian. I’m pretty sure that all of them are from the Toronto area since that’s where we have a major office, though I don’t know for sure if they were raised there. When I think about it, they don’t all have the same exact accent, but there are some particularly Canadian things they say and pronounce a certain way. They like to poke fun at the a-boot, hoser and eh things that we all got from The Great White North sketches. They don’t really do that naturally, just when joking around. But, they still are quite obviously Canadian.

It’s not a discriminatory thing, and like I said, they’re pretty high up execs, so nobody thinks of them as ignorant Moosehead swilling beaver trappers. It’s just that they DO speak a certain way that’s obviously Canadian. No different than the guy from South Africa, the many people from India, the woman from Jamaica (who only has the slightest of remaining accent that she’s obviously worked very hard to lose), and any other place. People from different countries do speak differently. I’m not sure why that’s controversial.

Yeah yeah, the lot of us think we don’t have an accent. I’m from the Midwest – where newscasters come from because we ‘don’t had accents. Hey, I don’t! But when I first moved to New York City, I can’t tell you how many people pegged me as coming from the Midwest – many pinpointing Minnesota.

All the same, it is irritating when people hear caricatures and believe it’s real. I tried twice to make it through the movie, “Fargo” and simply couldn’t because the fake ridiculous northern accents grated on my nerves too much.

Ever ask someone from England to imitate an “American accent”? They’ll do a Southern accent. The lead on “House” thought his American accent was perfect; it sucked!

Ya, makes me shake my head sometimes, too. Just one of those things. “Ya no?” 🙂

Something funny. When I was younger, I moved from the Midwest to California. At first, I found the “Californian Accent” be super annoying. Of course, after I was there for a while, it sounded perfectly normal. You just don’t hear your own accent.

Chris Soules Never Loved Whitney Bischoff, Used Engagement For The Fame…Whitney reportedly ended their engagement over lunch in Chicago on May 25.

“Whitney couldn’t take Chris’ bulls—t anymore,”a source told Life & Style. “She thought maybe they could work it out after DWTS, but really that’s just when she started to see his true colors. She feels she was tricked, and she told friends she thinks he never really loved her at all.”

I created a log in just so I could give you kudos for making me laugh. “Nothing on this show happens organically.” I wonder how many got that one? I have been reading your page and relying on your spoilers for several years. THANKS!!

I have enjoyed watching Kaitlyn; her non-typical responses are a refreshing change, but oh why did she have to bring Nick back. After he ‘kissed and told’ on national TV, I would think most females would stay far away. I know she said that she doesn’t want any regrets and wants to explore their connection but they already connected prior to the show…….she should have ‘explored’ it then. From the first episode she has said that she felt her husband was in the room only to now basically indicate that she needs to have an additional guy. I can understand how the guys must feel and she went down several levels of credibility in my estimations when she made this decision. I think Nick just came back for another 15 minutes of fame; can’t see what the attraction is as to me he is not physically attractive or a particularly nice person, and seems devious and manipulative.
