I’m kind of out of it but what’s the difference between Persian and Iranian. I have Iranian friends and I would NOT consider any of them to be white. In fact some even seem more like my Indian friends. Anyway thought I read somewhere that JoJo’s mom was Iranian. If so I would consider her to be just as diverse as someone like Caila or Amber, technically, but since JoJo actually appears to be totally white, then maybe not, but what are we considering diversity anyway. Juan Pablo looked totally white but he was hispanic and even had the accent going so he was considered diverse.

In my experience, anyone that calls themselves Persian is making the point that they don’t support the current Iranian regime. But, although there are differences that are debated (it’s a long historical explanation that I’m sure nobody wants to hear), essentially Iranian and Persian both describe people from Iran. Also, Persians are not Arabs or Africans and are generally considered Caucasian, or white. Now, of course, not everyone is purely Persian. Like in most places, Iranian/Persian people are sometimes of a mixed race. But if JoJo is Persian and Caucasian, in essence, she’s 100% white. So, if the show picks JoJo and tries to pass her off as non-white, they will catch all kinds of grief for it. It won’t be factually accurate.

As for Juan Pablo: many people in South American are of a Spanish (Spain) or Portuguese (Portugal) decent. Those people are, essentially, of white European decent. Juan Pablo appeared to be just that. A person of European decent. But he was foreign in that he wasn’t from this country & English was not his first language (Obviously!!!). With JoJo, you wouldn’t even be able to say that. She’s an American of Persian decent, and a white American at that.
