Got another good “Temptation Island” podcast for you this week with two of the singles this season, Samantha Hoffman and Dominique Price. Both were heavily involved in some of the bigger storylines this season, and yet again, we have guests that reveal stuff you didn’t see air on TV. Samantha really explains what happened in that “threesome” with David and Payton and how it came to be, plus she elaborates and goes over the whole timeline of her relationship with David post-show that he flat out denied even happened during the reunion. Dominique’s story is just as interesting because, if you watched this season, the editing made his relationship with Kate seem pretty one sided. Well, you saw it all go down last night, now you get to hear from some of the people directly involved. “Temptation Island” season 2’s final bonfires and reunion show were quite the spectacle, as I warned you they were. Every outcome of the final bonfires ended up being changed by the time they filmed the reunion – Ashley G. and Rick had broken up, Ashley H. and Ben were done, Esonica and Kareem weren’t together, and Dave and Toneata lasted a hot minute. Today, you will hear from both Ashley’s, who are currently roommates now in LA. And they hold nothing back. I’m sure there will be backlash as everyone wants to get their say in, but yeah, this is all just messy. Our final “He Said, She Said” with Ashley Spivey of the calendar year, and it’s our most fun one yet. First off, we have a caller we’ve had before, Katie in Florida, who has one of the more bizarre dating/hookup stories you’ll ever hear. 1. Looking forward to Kate impaling Dave with a pointy piece of firewood at the final Bonfire. 2. Quickly throwing together a betting pool so you can win some money if you happen to guess with the exact gallon of tears Casey will shed when his “sales pitch” to become Ashley’s husband doesn’t work. 3. Paging through Psychology textbooks to make sure you clearly understand the symptoms of “delusions of grandeur” because you think it’s very important to properly diagnose the people you write about in your recaps. 4. Including “Never go on a f*cking reality show” in your growing list of New Year’s Resolutions. To be fair, such a creed has been on that list for well over a decade, but so has “Stop swallowing gum” and sometimes you falter a bit with that one. 5. I’ve come to realize that watching Temptation Island is similar in some ways to having an addiction. There are very high highs and some seriously low lows and yet I keep chasing that dragon and coming back for more, even though I could be using the time it takes me to write these recaps to catch up on all the Faulkner I intentionally skipped over the years. (That man went on for pages about sh*t like flora and fauna.) But the biggest reason I feel Temptation Island is similar to an addiction is because the action has become repetitive. We’re on episode nine now, and certain things probably won’t change. Ashley H. will still be amazed by some new boy’s kisses. Casey will still be crying over how poorly things have turned out for him. Gavin will continue to look stunned by Esonica’s growing confidence. Today is the 3 year anniversary of when I started this podcast. First Thursday in December 2016 is when this whole thing launched. So what better guest to have on this week than…me. Yep. Just decided to do one on my own this week and talk about some things regarding the “Bachelor” that some of which you saw on Twitter and Instagram, and some of which you didn’t. It’s about an hour long and I cover a few different topics such as: Victoria Fuller’s annoying friends, who were either told by her to harass me this week, or they just decided to do it on their own. When it comes to the video messages that closed last week’s episode, I think it’s rather clear that Casey would have actually preferred for the little stringy-haired girl from The Ring to come crawling out of his iPad instead of what he got, which was Ashley, her voice dripping with flagrant signs of emotional disengagement. The guy is in a rough place right now, and though I initially expected he’d drown his shock and sorrow by cavorting with a walking Very Bad Idea like Payton, I now think he will spend the rest of his time on that island weeping into coconut fronds, an image that really only makes for good TV for about fifteen minutes or so. After that, it begins to look slightly pathetic.

Back for more. Sorry it’s a tad late but, uhhhhhhh, I had to watch “Survivor” first before recording the first part of the podcast. Kaci was done last night, but because I’m such a procrastinator, I put off recording the first 30 minutes until after “Survivor” ended which is why it’s a little late. No worries, it’s here now. And remember, at no point did I ever say I was going to give you the ending. That’s because I don’t know it. I do address what I’ve heard, which is pretty much what everyone’s heard since apparently the state of Alabama has a big mouth, but I’ll give you my thoughts on that.
