Oooooohhhhhh fun times today. You get to listen to me for about 75 minutes as I talk about things going on in Bachelor Nation, update you on the “Survivor” scandal from last night in case you haven’t seen yet what went on with Dan, and then answer your “Reader Emails.” Some good questions this week. Yeah, there are a couple that have been asked numerous times over the years, but as I always say, every single column and every single podcast I do, someone is reading/listening for the first time. So obviously if you’re someone who’s followed me for years, you’ve probably heard those answers 1000 times. But someone who’s asking obviously doesn’t know the answer and is hearing it for the first time. But I cover a lot of things in today’s podcast so hopefully it’s filled with information you may not know or have heard of yet. No, I don’t have your answer as to who Peter picks this season, but I do talk about how people are dissecting everything regarding the final two. I think some people are overthinking things. When I know the ending, you will know. That’s going to be my standard answer anytime I’m asked about it. Might not be satisfactory for everyone, but hey, just being honest. I get into it a little more in the podcast. Enjoy…

(SPOILERS) I begin by covering a lot of things going on in Bachelor Nation like Chris Harrison’s new website, Jason’s season on Netflix, Chris & Katie break up, Tyler deleting photos of Hannah, and how people are dissecting the ending of Peter’s season, then talking about last night’s “Survivor” scandal, “Temptation Island,” the “Challenge” finale, and the “Masked Singer.” Then I answer your “Reader Emails” for about 45 minutes covering topics like “Bachelor” production, what a regular day is like for me, Demi & Kristian’s break up, hometown dates, Bachelor breakups, & much more (31:00).

Sorry, not listening to a 79 minute podcast to get the (perhaps) 10 minutes of information actually of interest to me. Stick to putting the interesting stuff in writing and save the podcasts for interviews.

I wholly agree with you keddo. Last week I started to listen to Steve’s “podcast” and realized halfway through it that it’s basically him taking the lazy way around writing a column. And if I WERE to want to listen to a solo “podcast” he’d have to leave out all the fluff. He went over and over so many topics that could’ve been summed up in a much shorter time. He has been skimping on written recaps and spoilers for a while now

I completely agree!!! The podcasts are so long and drawn out, and I think they could easily be done in 10-15 minutes. I’ve only listened to 2 or 3 total, and I had to fast forward all the time because it was just too much fluff. I’d much prefer written because that way I can speed read through the nonsense and get to the bottom line quicker.

Agree with all of the above. “He went over and over so many topics that could’ve been summed up in a much shorter time.” He does this in his blogs also, especially when defending himself from whatever… Yes, at least one can speed read through the repetitive stuff in writing.

Steve doesn’t write anymore period. It’s pure laziness. He’s followed the lead of his hereo David Jacoby that transitioned from writing reality recaps to strictly podcasts. If you can get away with it, good for you. But I lasted maybe 10 minutes on one podcasts of Steve’s before I realized he was terrible at it. Maybe 5 guests seemed intriguing to listen to, but I never bothered trying to listen. He can’t even get a guest for the last two weeks, that’s how weak his star power is. I’m serious about this. He preaches about how faux important these bachelor/ette contestants think they are yet he exhibits the same self importance in his podcasts and presentations. I do not frequent this site anymore. I just came on today to see if he posted anything on Survivor scandal with Dan Spilo, and of course it’s on a podcast. Good thing People had it anyway and he ripped it from them. Plus, he’s now answering reader emails on podcast too? Bon voyage Reality Steve

I, too, was annoyed that he answered reader emails on the podcast too. I did not get that far…basically he had nothing new to report, just rehashed old news and went on and on and on about people/websites using his spoilers and not giving him credit. Lately I’ve been getting more Bachelor nation news on Google news – People and US and other sites. Lately RS only mentions Bachelor news on Twitter. And he’s always bashing his readers. Does he not know where his bread is buttered?? Methinks he’s losing his perspective.

I TOTALLY agree with all the above comments about not having the time to listen to a pod-cast to get information. I’d much rather have it in writing, so I can take my time reading it.
Soooo, PLEASE Steve, listen to your faithful, and put the information that you put in the pod-cast (especially the Survivor scandal) in writing. We’d very much appreciate it.
And–Thank you…

I agree with the statements above. I have been a faithful reader since the start, but the sarcasm has started to sound like down right anger and impatience. I love some of the Podcast guests – especially the not Bachelor guest like Brandi Redmond from RHOD, Cara Maria from the Challenge and the Survivor guests. Really cool. But these last two were pretty lame and I did not listen to reader emails. Hey Steve its your column, your reality, but from a readership – i.e revenue standpoint you are going to loose a few if you go strictly to podcasts.

Well stated, shelly7878. I’m curious as to why all of a sudden RS can’t get a decent guest for his podcast. And I can see his reasons for occasionally giving spoilers on the podcast rather than write a full column but to do reader emails via podcast is going a bit too far. And on last week’s “monologue” he didn’t really even have any news to report, basically re-hashed some old stuff which I found extremely boring. I shut it off after a short time, just not interesting. I miss reading his columns…been a while since he’s written one.

Ditto to all of the above. I check out his info on breaks from work. Have never been into the podcast format. The ONLY podcast of his I have ever listened to was when he had Jordan on during the Jordan/Jenna scandal, and that’s because I loved Jordan and wanted to hear his side of the story. I’m trying to cut him slack and assuming he’ll be back to the norm when Bachelor season starts, but if not I won’t be coming here much.

I, too, was figuring RS would resume written recaps once Peter’s season starts. I also check out his site at work and cannot listen to podcasts. Reading his recaps is a good way to break the monotony at work and I can read it in bits and pieces when I’m not busy and boss isn’t hovering! I know podcasts are the latest rage, but many of us don’t have the luxury of having time to listen to them. We’ll see when January rolls around
