Daily Roundup 9/4 – Last Nights Atrocity Of A Finale, Devin Stories, Jenn Getting Thrown Under The Bus By The Show, & The Re-Watching Of The Proposal

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I am your host, Reality Steve. Thank you all for tuning in on this Wednesday. I don’t know what we watched last night. What was that? I’ve got so many thoughts. This is probably going to be one of the longer podcasts I do for the Daily Roundup.

And I’m pretty much going to keep it just to what we watched last night on Jen’s Bachelorette finale, because there’s a lot of things here and we’ll get to all that momentarily. I do want to start off by saying this. We. Things are going to be done a little different for tomorrow’s podcast rollout. You know, I’m on a plane tomorrow morning, my flight’s at eight o’clock in the morning and that’s usually right around the time the second sports daily is going up.

And then on Thursdays, obviously you’ve got the weekly podcast. So here’s the situation. Parents went away on a week’s vacation. I got the keys to the brand new porch. Would they mind? Well, of course not. Sorry, sidetracked. Anyway, here’s the situation. I am recording podcast number four Oh seven. At 10 o’clock my time today with Dotton, all the Beko charity’s fiance.

First time I’ve ever spoken to Dotton, very excited. And that is going to be podcast number 407. I’m only getting 20 minutes with him. So it’s going to be one of the shorter ones, but. That’s going to be podcast number four Oh seven. I got to record a daily roundup today and I got to record a sports daily today.

So I am going to be swamped today, recording these podcasts, editing them, getting them ready, but I’m not going to post them Thursday morning because I just want to be able to wake up tomorrow morning, shower, pack. Yes. I packed the morning of, because it takes guys about five minutes to pack, pack, and then just go to the airport.

I don’t want to have to worry about. Tweeting stuff out and whatever. I mean, I’ll still tweet stuff out, but what I’m going to do is all the stuff. Daily roundup tomorrow’s daily roundup tomorrow’s interview with Dotton my sports daily. They’re all gonna be released around midnight So gonna do it about eight hours earlier than I normally do and then when I’m sitting there at the airport waiting for my flight You know between seven and eight o’clock central time.

I’ll I’ll tweet out again Like hey, just a reminder podcasts are already up. Go check it out in your podcast feed Go check it out on my youtube channel and stuff like that. But very excited to talk to Dotton today and Just curious what his thoughts were on what he had to witness last night. Well, we all had to witness last night, so that’s going to be the semantics or the formalities of what’s happening with the site and with the podcast coming tomorrow, I do not think I’m going to have a column up today just because.

Right after the show. Ended last night. I went on Dave Neal’s live and we talked for about an hour. If you listen to all of that, you’re probably going to hear me repeating myself a lot in this podcast. Cause these are my thoughts on what we saw last night, but I just don’t have the time to type anything out.

Maybe I’ll get around to it today. And I’ll post it with the Dotton interview and the daily roundup. So that’ll go up at midnight tonight. I don’t know, but what I will suggest is if you just want to read my thoughts and you don’t, you don’t listen to podcasts, you’re not a podcast listener. I would suggest, suggest going to my website today.

Cause I’m still going to post the transcript. So those are going to be my thoughts on this particular episode. So let’s just jump right into it. I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything like that in the history of the show. So the final rose ceremony in Hawaii, where Jen proposed to Devin. Was on May 16th.

I gave you the spoiler on May 31st before you had even seen a promo for the season You knew who the final couple was and you knew that they were engaged When we started to break down at the beginning of the season the whole trailer and the season started with that scene of Jen saying I can’t let you propose to me I have said all year or all year that this show has been airing all season since it started airing in July I said, I don’t know what that is.

Some people immediately guessed. I think she proposes to him, or maybe it’s Jen proposing to Devin that ended up being right. I didn’t think that was it. I, my guess was like, eh, maybe it’s just her saying until you say you love me first, or maybe I need my brother’s blessing, whatever the case may be.

I did not know it was her proposing to him. So, that part I was unaware of, but you, you knew your winner. I was able to find out yesterday or get it confirmed yesterday that they that broke it up. And then last night during the show, I tweeted out, like I had found out it was fairly recently. And so what Jen told us last night was she hadn’t seen him in a month.

I don’t know if that was when the. Breakup over text happened. I’m not sure yet. I’m kind of gonna be all over the map with my thoughts here I’m I’m gonna try and put them in order But every time I’m saying something I feel myself going off on a tangent and going into something else But what I will say is this to start off I think

ever since I Announced that Devin was the winner of this show back on May 31st and that Devin and Jen got engaged and they were the final Couple I’ve heard nothing but negative things about Devin Nothing, but negative things. And these are things that, you know, I hear negative stuff about contestants every season.

Hell I told you with the day, the count of the contestants were released on Facebook. I’m already hearing negative stuff about a lot of Jen’s contestants. All the stuff I heard on, on Devon all season was negative. And after what Jen sat there and told us on the couch last night, it all ended up being true from the very beginning.

I was being told. That this guy was out for clout, wasn’t a fan of the show, knew nothing about the show, which I think played a huge role in all this. You got to remember it’s one thing. If you’ve never seen the show for him to just jump all in, starting at hometown dates with the love bombing and being the first guy to tell her, I love you.

And then constantly telling her, I love you. I love you. I love you. You’ll always come first. You’re the. And it’s just like, okay, something always seemed off. What have I been saying all season long on this podcast, in my column, my YouTube channel, I’ve saying something about this guy has seemed off. He seemed like he wanted to win.

You had other guys in the house saying he was acting different and he was out to win and he wasn’t necessarily into Jen. You have Sam taking a victory lap last night and basically posting something on Instagram saying, basically told you so, and Sam and Thomas ended up being right. About how they felt about Devin.

And that’s the problem in all of this is hearing that stuff all season. And then not that I didn’t want to believe it. I just couldn’t prove it. So it’s just like, okay, I’ll keep this in mind. Let’s see how Devin acts on this show or post show. We saw how he acted on the show. He love bombed her. He told her everything that she wanted to hear.

Now you can sit there and say, Jen was stupid for not seeing the red flags. I’m sorry. Marcus was the one that had red flags during the season, because this is a guy who wasn’t giving her what she wanted from hometown dates on Devin gave Jen everything that she wanted. She even said that on the show, when it came down to final Rose ceremony day, he was the one giving her what she wanted.

So this is what I mean. Everything that I’ve told about this guy. Was he was on the show for clout. He had no interest in really about the show and what it was about. He had no idea really what it was about. Obviously he knows that, you know, there’s one person and you go on dates and whatever, and you know, there’s a proposal at the end, but I just, I was told that he never thought he would be in the position that he was.

And so while I’m sure that there was pressure from producers at the end, the bottom line was. Everything I was told about this guy ended up being true. So when we get there on the couch last night and Jen says, basically from the time they left Hawaii, Devin seemed checked out. I was like, okay. And there really is no other way to put it other than he conned her because he told her exactly what she wanted to hear.

So he could win. I don’t think that’s some major revelation either. I don’t think I’m the only person in the world with that take. Most people can kind of see that now he wanted to win. I was saying all season, I’m just questioning this guy’s sincerity. He’s coming across to me as a guy who I’m sure he likes Jen.

But I don’t think he believes all the stuff that he’s saying, which is over the top with the love bombing. It’s one thing to say towards the end, I’m in love with you, Jen. It was starting at hometown dates and every episode after that, and then him. Actually getting somewhat miffed or bothered or even upset that Jen couldn’t give him anything in return and practically trying to force it out of her like, man, I told you all this and you haven’t told me in return.

I don’t know how to feel. And then she finally tells him that. And now we find out last night that literally from the time they left Hawaii, this guy started being distant. Like, that’s a major factor to me and why I think this guy conned her because if she would have said, Hey, we got off the island, we had some happy couple visits, things were going great until they weren’t.

And let’s say they lasted a month or two and he was able to go through with it for a month or two and, and make her happy and follow through with anything. The fact that this guy couldn’t follow through on any of his promises. Right from the time they left Hawaii. I don’t know how you can look at him as anything other than he faked it.

He tried to win a TV show, not win Jen’s heart. And that’s what I was questioning all season long. Yes. I was being told it behind the scenes by people who said, there is no way this guy is serious about her. He’s on it for clout. There’s, and you know, what I want to also add is this during the show last night, I got an email from somebody.

On Instagram. And they told me something that I had not heard all season. Now I don’t want to reveal what that is yet, because while it doesn’t make Devin look good and it adds to this stuff that Jen said last night. I want to be obviously secure in posting this and make sure that this is right. And I, and I vet it correctly.

But what I can say is it plays into everything that Jen said about him last night. And we’re going to, we’re going to hit on that after this commercial break. So the other thing I wanted to mention was what she said on the couch to him. And I really wish Jesse would have held back. Devon’s feet to the fire on this, because we heard what Jen had to say, which was the second we left Hawaii, you got distant, you wouldn’t return phone calls.

You had one foot out the door from the very beginning. That’s all fine and dandy, but can we get a why from Devon? Like, what was the reasoning? Because Devon said, no, I don’t agree with you. I failed you. I didn’t live up to what I said. I didn’t, I didn’t fulfill my promises. Okay, we get that. But why didn’t you that’s what I want an answer to and I’m sure Devin’s gonna I don’t know if he’s gonna do podcast rounds as I said on Dave’s lives last night this absolutely seems like a Nick Viall interview that’s coming I just I can’t see him doing this on Ben and Ashley’s show I can’t see him going on Caitlyn show to talk about this I can’t see him doing Joe and Serena for this I This seems like right up Nick Vial’s alley to get Devin on the podcast.

So we’ll keep our eyes out for that. I have no idea if it’s happening or not, but if it does, I’m sure it’s happening soon. But that’s the question. I think I want answered the most is we heard Jen side. I want to know why, because dude, you couldn’t, like I said, if this would have lasted two months and then all of a sudden the relationship fizzled while it still would have been, wow, couldn’t even make it two months, at least it looks like effort was put in.

Jen was up there on the couch last night. Basically saying, this guy put no effort in and it makes me question anything he said to me on the show. Which brings me to another point I wanted to make about Jen. Some people are coming down on Jen saying, She’s an idiot, she’s got a bad picker, she doesn’t understand, we all saw it.

No, no, no, no, no. You didn’t all see it. Because Devin gave her exactly what she wanted on that show. From the very beginning, even when Sam N was calling him out, because he didn’t give the guys time, he had a rose and he immediately stole her away. You Jen was always defending him in those early episodes.

We all knew that Jen liked Devin from the very beginning and he was a front runner, even if you didn’t know the spoiler. Because Jen never went at Devin for anything. The guys that had a problem with him, she always sided with Devin. So my question now is this, how do you go from saying what you said to her on the show to not even following through with anything?

Why? That’s the big question, and hopefully we’ll get that answered. Honestly, I don’t really think he can come up with anything that’s going to be like a majority of the audience saying, Oh, you know, I listened to him on Nick’s podcast, whoever’s podcast he does, and I really understand him now. I don’t think so because I don’t think he ever truly believed what he was saying to her.

And I know the phrase is such a cliche. But actions speak louder than words. And this guy was all words. He was all bark and no bite. He had no substance behind anything he said. Because everything that he told her that we saw him tell her from hometown dates on he never followed up with. According to Jen.

And he didn’t seem to deny it last night. He said, I failed you. He said you were compromising who you were. I want to know the why to that. Why was she doing that? Why were you making her feel that way? I just think it’s because he never really, truly fell in love with her at all. He just told her what she wanted to hear.

So he could win a TV show. It was an ego thing with him. I don’t think it’s anything more deep than that. This guy is a fraud. I was told he was a fraud for three months. It’s not like I didn’t believe it. I just said, well, I want to see how it plays out because as of a couple of weeks ago, I hadn’t heard any rumblings that they were in trouble.

Apparently they were in trouble the whole time. I didn’t hear, like, it’s one thing to get the spoiler for what happens at the end of filming. That’s a lot easier than finding out every detail that happened in the months from the time the filming is over until the after the final rose airs. That’s always hard because you hear things every season like I did this season and I’m just like, I don’t, I don’t know, you know, until I got it confirmed on Monday that yeah, no, they broke up and it happened right about three weeks ago or so.

So. I just think Devin, just a horrible showing for him last night. And we’ve just never seen anything like this. I mean, their lead was literally crying for the last hour of the show. How.
