Okay. Let’s get to the next point, showing the proposal. I don’t know in what world, and I’m sure he’s going to do an interview because he’s going to be asked about it at some, at some point, Jesse Palmer is going to be asked about why did you sit there and have Jen and Devin on the couch and replay their proposal after we just saw them, you came back.
After she had already let Marcus go and after Devin went and picked out a ring, you came on the camera and said, why did I just interrupt this? Because we don’t want to show the proposal for, because of what’s happened since then. They bring out Jen, they bring out Devin. We saw two segments of them sitting there and Jesse specifically said, we didn’t want to show you the proposal because of what’s happened since then.
So then we, as an audience, find out what happened since then, and then you show us the proposal. The fuck was the point of that? You’ve already made this night the most miserable you can for your lead. She couldn’t even start the segment without crying. And then later on you say, let’s go back to that day.
And they can throw all the bullshit they want at us, which is, Hey, I just wanted to let you know that that woman up there was empowering. You deserve the best. They can frame it however they want. They could have told her that without showing her the proposal. We didn’t need to see that proposal. That was embarrassing and it was cruel.
There was no reason for Jen to watch that proposal. Did you notice once the proposal first started, they had the live box in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and there’s Jen bawling her eyes out and Devin basically with his head down. And then after a while they probably realized, Oh Jesus. All we’re doing is showing misery on the show.
And yes, of course they did it for TV. Of course they did it for water cooler talk today. So everybody will be talking about their show, but it just goes to show this show does not give a shit about their contestants feelings, no matter what they say. We’re looking out for Jen. No, you weren’t. You would have not shown that proposal if you were looking out for Jen.
You loved the fact that she was miserable all night long. And you had people tuning in and gasping for, Oh my gosh, I can’t believe what we’re watching here. It just made absolutely no sense to show that proposal and whether Robert Mills wants to, I don’t know who’s going to do an interview and actually say, you know what, after watching it back, I’m glad we showed the proposal.
It was the wrong choice. I don’t think that I think this is black and white. You know, me, I’m a gray area guy. This is black and white to me. You don’t fucking show that proposal. She’s already miserable enough as it is. And she’s cried for two segments straight. What the hell are you doing making her watch a proposal where she proposed to him?
A guy that basically followed through with nothing that he told her during the two months on the show. The guy is full of shit and everything I was told about him ended up being right. I mentioned Robert Mills, who sent out a tweet at the end of the show, and his tweet said, Well, Devin, you had the opportunity to confess if you did anything else to Jen post proposal.
People are asking, what’s he referring to? I don’t know, maybe it’s the thing that was told to me on Instagram last night. I’m not sure. I’m gonna see if I can get to it. Some solid evidence or have somebody come forward because I’m not going to be the middleman on this yet again No matter how bad it makes Devin look I need some sort of confirmation I need some sort of proper vetting on this if they don’t want to put their name behind it We’ll see if they just want to come out anonymous.
They want to tell their story, but just say I’ll tell my story I just want to do it anonymously. Well, Devin’s gonna know who it is So I don’t know, I don’t know what’s going to happen with it, but, and I don’t really know what Mills is referring to with that, but clearly, clearly there was stuff going on and Jen absolutely, I just, I felt awful for her last night because the show didn’t give a shit.
The show did what they wanted to get the reaction that they wanted, plain and simple. They knew Devin was going to come across horribly, but they loved the fact that they were crying, that Jen was crying and everybody was cheering her on. Using the proposal to tell her how empowering she is and that day, yeah, you know, I don’t buy it.
They showed the proposal because they wanted more misery up on stage and I, I, I got sidetracked when I wanted to say this about Jen. There are people that are saying like, it’s Jen’s fault. She has a bad picker. She saw the red flag. No, no, no, no, no. I totally agree with what Jen said towards the end there when Jesse said, do you have anything else you want to say to Devin?
And she said, look, I have no regrets because that guy that I just watched myself proposed to, I have no regrets about that guy. She’s absolutely right. That guy was giving her everything she wanted on the show. He was telling her everything she wanted to hear, but that wasn’t Devin. She said it, that guy on the screen.
I have no regrets about him, but the second the show was over, I never saw him again. So I, anybody jumping down Jen’s throat, like we all saw it, Jen. No, you didn’t. You really didn’t. Because say what you want about Devin now from March 26th, when the show started filming to May 16th, when it ended, he was saying all the right things.
I understood why she fell for him. I understood as I watched this season play out, why she picked Devin. She fell for him, but she fell for a con artist. He conned her there is no other way to look at this if they would have lasted a month or two months I would have said he didn’t con her I would have said it happens on the show happens more often than not Couples get off the show.
That’s when the real relationship begins. I say that every season And these two realized not compatible, whatever the case may be, they couldn’t work. Maybe the religions didn’t work. Maybe they couldn’t find time to make for each other. Maybe she saw something in him or he saw something in her and it just didn’t work out.
No. The fact that this guy couldn’t even wait until end of May, beginning of June before he was already checked out of the relationship and not even trying. After going so hard on the love bombing and then getting basically upset with her because she didn’t reciprocate it to him. And then once she did, he was almost like, yeah, I got her now, this guy piece of work.
And if I, if I come in with more information and I am able to vet this information and, and confirm it by all means, I’ll share it. It doesn’t make Devin look good at all. And it basically plays into everything that Jen said last night. And who can blame her? I cannot blame her for how she acted on the stage last night.
I have no problems with anything that she said. I have a major problem with how Devin took no accountability for anything really. And then I have a problem with the show playing back the proposal. It was just cruel. It was cruel and had no place to be played. Nothing to be gained from that other than we want to make this even more bad and more gut wrenching for Jen tonight.
Let’s roll the tape. We just sat there for two segments, listening to how miserable this guy made Jen from the second they left fucking Hawaii. And they want to go back and show us a proposal where she proposed to him. Good Lord. She was crying from the second hell before they went to the clip. Did you hear what she said?
Do I have a choice? Like she knew she’s basically like, Oh, I just got to go along with this. I don’t want to. And from the second that clip started playing of final rose ceremony day, When they had the live box in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, she was crying. And Devin had basically his hands in his face and he wasn’t even watching it.
Doesn’t that give you the answer that you should never have shown it? Robert Mills needs to answer for this. Jesse Palmer needs to answer for this. Because certainly, production behind the scenes isn’t going to answer unless the LA Times does another scoop and Bennett Grabener wants to talk about it.
Jason Ehrlich, you know, they did that piece back in June, how they failed Matt James, well, you know what, you just failed Jen Tran too, because that was an absolute travesty. What happened on that stage last night? I know I’m going to have more thoughts tomorrow as I gather things and people send in emails.
I know that there’s just so much here. I don’t want to spend too much more time on it because until I, until I get some, you know, answers. And if I, if I can get some. Sources to come forward in regards to what I heard about Devin, by all means, I will, but I’m going to work on that for the next, hopefully just today because I’ve got so much work to do today and then, you know, I’m out of town on Thursday, so I’m not going to get any work done doing it.
Over the weekend. So I will obviously keep you updated, but man, that was that was brutal to watch last night and probably the worst after the final rose in terms of what a lead had to go through. You know, at least when we saw the breakup with Becca and Ari and Jason and Melissa and Rachel and Tino, those were all pre recorded.
So while they were bad to watch, and it was cringy to watch, and you felt for the women in those situations, you felt for Becca, you felt for Rachel, you felt for Melissa Rycroft, this was all happening live last night. That wasn’t taped. On the East Coast and Central Time Zones, we were watching that as it was happening.
So that’s what made it so much more, I guess, real. Not that Becca and Ori’s breakup wasn’t real. It had been recorded a few weeks before we actually saw it. This was happening in real time last night and just brutal. Anyway, got more things to say about it tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll see if I can get some sort of column up, but I’m today, I’m going to put up the transcript from this.
