Every 3 months or so I like to take the time to answer all the questions you the reader sends in, and this was one of those weeks. I didn’t count the exact number but I think there’s over 30 emails answered in today’s podcast covering a variety of topics. I did not get to all of them that you sent in because some were sent in after I recorded yesterday around 3:00pm. Either way, some good stuff in here, and most wasn’t even “Bachelor/ette” related, which is always a good thing. You get plenty of that on other weeks, so it’s always nice to mix it up and cover different topics. Also, your transcripts for both today’s Daily Roundup and Podcast #414 are below if you want to read those. Thanks to all who sent in an email. I appreciate it. Enjoy!

Then I begin to answer (3:16) your “Reader Email” questions/comments/queries that you sent in over the last day or so. Over 30 emails answered in the podcast covering a wide variety of topics.

(SPOILER) Your Daily Roundup covers Joan’s MTA taped yesterday, a tweet that I couldn’t agree more with, Survivor’s blindside, my thoughts on the “Love is Blind” finale, and a People.com article that I’m still having a hard time believing.

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality C podcast. I’m your host, Reality C. Thank you all for tuning in. Good Thursday show for you. We’re going to talk about what’s coming up in podcast number 414. It’s you guys coming up in podcast number 414 in a couple hours. I’ve got some news on Jones season.
I’ve also going to talk about Survivor, going to talk about the Love is Blind finale yesterday. So if you haven’t watched, do not listen to that part of the podcast. There’s a tweet that I 1000 percent agree with that I want to throw out there. And I’m going to finally get around to that article I mentioned on people.
com the other day that I said, I don’t even know if I believe, and we’ll get to that momentarily. All right. First thing I want to get to is an update on Jones season. Couple things I talk about here in the open are going to be answered in today’s podcast number 414 because it is your reader emails. I didn’t number them, but I got to think I answered between 25 and 30 emails.
There were a lot. A lot of them were just literally one sentence questions. Some were longer that had multiple questions in them, but that’s coming up at 9 15 a. m. Eastern Standard Time. It’ll go up on my YouTube channel at 9 15 a. m. Eastern Time. Reality Steve 24 on YouTube and it’ll be in your podcast feed right around that time as well.
But a lot of questions that I answer there, this is one of them, but I’ll give it to you right now just so you don’t have to If you don’t want to maybe listen to the whole thing, I don’t know, but men tell all for Jones season filmed yesterday. So there is going to be a men tell all it filmed yesterday.
Obviously I don’t know what happened. I just know it filmed yesterday at the time I’m recording this. It’s probably still filming because we know how long those men tell all goes. Men tell all’s go and they filmed yesterday. So makes sense. Joan was on Nick by house podcast this week. She was at dancing with the stars on Monday.
My guess is she probably taped with Nick on Monday or Tuesday and Wednesday was the men tell all. So there you go. Just so you know about that. If I hear anything from it, I’ll report it, but. Jones Men Tell All is a lot different than what we get on a regular Men Tell All season or a Women Tell All season because all these guys liked each other.
There was no drama in the house. When we look forward to Men Tell All and Women Tell Alls during the season, it’s because these men and women had beef with each other, we get to revisit some of the people who didn’t like each other, and all that nice stuff. This, what drama are they going to pull on Jones Men Tell All?
It’s going to be a love fest of these guys. They all loved each other. They’re all good friends. There’s not one thing that is remotely drama filled this season on Jones season. If you say, well, Chalk hogged her at the bowling date, well, first off, Chalk won’t be at the Mentel Hall because he’s your winner.
And number two, I don’t think anyone’s going to spend any time talking about that. So irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. So I can’t imagine anything major comes out of this Mentel Hall for Jones season, but if it does, I’ll be sure to report it to you guys. I just want to read this tweet. I saw it on a Twitter account yesterday, sporty R McKenzie.
And let me just say, after what I said in yesterday’s podcast, I basically cannot agree anymore with a tweet, probably that I’ve ever seen in my life. The tweet said, my wife explained to me that Zach Brown, Zach Brian, and Luke Brian are three completely different people who happen to work in the same industry.
And the one who dated a girl named chicken fry had nothing to do with a song called chicken fried. And I think I have a brain bleed. So yes, you’ll hear me in today’s reader emails and podcast number four 14 read off one email that said, Hey, Steve. Luke Bryan isn’t a judge on The Voice and he’s not married to Gwen Stefani.
Yes, I’m aware of that. Totally had a brain fart yesterday when I said that. Just read that tweet and you’ll know why. Just so confusing. I know who Blake Shelton is. I know who Luke Bryan is, but I immediately thought singing competition show judge. And then for whatever reason, my mind went to Luke Bryan and put him on the voice, married to Gwen Stefani.
Yes, I know Blake Shelton is married to Gwen Stefani, but yeah, that that tweet yesterday was kind of funny, so I wanted to pass that along, but yeah, that is one of the many questions on today’s reader emails on podcast four 14 coming up. In a couple hours, by the way, got to check out at least for a moment, the shirt I’m wearing on today’s podcast, number four 14 channel, because it is back to the future week.
And of course, I’m going to wear a back to the future related shirt. One of my favorite back to the future related shirts. So check that out coming at 9 15 AM. Eastern time survivor last night. There’s two things I want to point out about last night’s episode of survivor. Number one, for the first time in a really, really, really long time, they did a selection of teams based on backyard schoolyard picking of teams.
They said, we’re going to draw rocks for captains. And then those captains are going to pick their teams. Yet, they showed us none of it. What was the point of that? We had 13 people that made, quote unquote, the merge. One of them, Genevieve, who went into the water, found a buoy, which gave her an advantage.
And the advantage was, you get to sit out the first part of this team race. Six people on one team, six people on the other team. The winning team then competes in the second half of the race, where Genevieve will join them. So, seven people will compete for individual immunity. In an immunity challenge, we’ve seen numerous times on the show where you hold a wooden frame, which is shaped like a half Crescent, a ball is on top of it.
You just have to hold it and make sure the ball doesn’t go off. At the beginning of the challenge, Jeff said to make these 12 people into two teams of six, we’re going to do a schoolyard, pick them and they’re going to be two captains and they’re going to pick their teams yet. We never saw them pick. I don’t even know who the captain was.
They even chose who the captain was, let alone who they picked. And in what order, I think that shows a lot. Maybe there’s something they didn’t want to give away. I’m not sure, but yeah, that was kind of disappointing. I wanted to see the schoolyard pick. You always feel bad for the people that get picked last, but it then becomes a, what if that person ended up winning?
And then you can build like an underdog story around them. You can tell who’s kind of at the bottom of the totem pole. I’m shocked they didn’t show that. What, what, what was the point of not showing a schoolyard pick? Hell, if you’re not going to show it, then don’t even show us Jeff telling them we’re having a schoolyard pick.
Just be like, all right, we’re going to split you up into two teams of six. And then the very next scene, they’re already in their two teams of six. You tell us there’s going to be a schoolyard pick and then you don’t show us the schoolyard pick. Doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t, again, I’m not a television producer.
Maybe it was done for time. Probably is going to be their answer. I know Jeff Probst does a podcast after every episode, right? I got to believe that’s what his answer is going to be. It’s very tough. 90 minutes show. We got to show, we always have to cut stuff for time and we decided to cut the schoolyard pick for time.
Okay. But then just don’t tell us and don’t show us that there was a schoolyard pick because that kind of let people down. The second thing about the episode that I want to point out is Rome. Again, this was sometimes they do the whole. It’s so obvious. It’s one person. We’re going to blindside the audience with the other person, but the way they were shooting last night’s episode, it was clear as day.
They weren’t going to blindside the audience. They were going to blindside Rome. I mean, the television producers of Survivor weren’t trying to blindside the audience. Hell, we saw most of the people’s vote right on the parchment, the name Rome. So. It was all about let’s show all of Rome’s confessionals where he’s talking about how he’s running the game.
And this is MJ against Kirk Heinrich, and this is the Rome show and all this stuff. Then we see everybody around camp saying it’s Rome, right? It’s Rome, right? It’s Rome, right? If there was any sliver of hope that it wasn’t going to be Rome, they wouldn’t have shown everybody talking around camp that way, or they would have at least thrown in one conversation of somebody saying, you know what, maybe we don’t go after Rome now we can get them out later.
But they didn’t, they just made sure everybody at home knew. And this was basically an episode revolving around, Hey, we’re going to make this guy who thinks he’s running the show into basically the laughing stock of the episode, because everybody at home is not buying any of his stuff. He’s the one that’s oblivious.
Everyone else is after him. He thinks he’s running the show with 13 people in the game. All he keeps talking about is how he’s a mastermind. Well, we’ll show him and we’re going to make the whole last 30 minutes of the show about how he’s clueless to what he knows is going on in the game. And that’s exactly what happened.
He got voted out. Let’s see. There were 12 people who voted two for Andy, one for someone else. So nine, two to one, he got voted out of the game. Yet Rome, who was very annoying the last three or four episodes. Hell, he’s been annoying since the beginning of the season. Just talks too much about himself and talk too much about how he was controlling the game.
I knew this guy was never going to win. It was just a matter of when, not if he was going to get eliminated. But I really appreciated the fact that he didn’t go off on people. He basically swallowed his pride and said, good job. No, no, you know, no, not mad at any of you appreciate you. Jeff gave him a hug.
At least we got to see that out of the guy. We showed, he showed some humility, but for six episodes he’s shown no humility. So I was hoping he would go out the way he did and kind of do a 180 and be like, Oh shit, maybe I’m not the man that I think I am, you know, in terms of running this game. So I appreciated that on Rome’s part, but very, very obvious in the last 30 minutes that this was not going to be a blind side on the audience.
It was going to be a blind side on. This podcast is brought to you by way. Everybody’s got a type and way is your type. Their shampoo and conditioner are made to deliver.
