If you were following on Twitter on Friday, David Gingras, the lawyer for Laura Owens sent a YouTube video basically directed at me. It’s about three and a half minutes long. And he basically said in the video, I listened to your interview with Rachel Juarez regarding my appeal, really liked it. Agree with about 70 percent of it and just wanted to let you know, thanks for reporting on it.
And thanks for talking to someone who’s very qualified and whatnot. And then left his number in a tweet to me and said, we should talk. Obviously I was very skeptical. And I’m like, what does he want to talk about? And I texted, ended up texting him on Friday to say, Hey, it’s reality, Steve. And what exactly are you looking to talk about?
And he was just like, look, I just really enjoyed how you handled the interview. He said, I don’t agree with you. And I agree with about 70 percent of what Rachel said, but I appreciate you bringing someone on who is very well versed in the field. Obviously, she’s got a degree from. Yale and Stanford. So there was no way he could have attacked her, which I thought he was going to do because, you know, we’ve seen how he can be on, on, on, online sometimes.
So we go back and forth. He’s like, look, if you don’t want to talk, that’s fine. I get it, but let me know. So I ended up saying, okay, I just want to see where I could get with him. And when I called him, the first thing that I did when I got on the phone with him was tell him, David, just for my own sanity, I need to record this call.
And he said, go ahead. I don’t care. And I said, I’m not recording it to play it back for everybody. I’m not recording it to even take clips from it to play for anybody. I just want to record this for my own safety. Just in case something goes haywire between us and you start saying things that aren’t true, and I’ve got the proof.
He said, go ahead. I don’t care. So not only did he allow me, I mean, he knew it was being recorded. We talked for about 50 minutes on Friday. 51 minutes to be exact. I have the phone call on my desktop here. What is the timestamp on this? It was 50 minutes and 44 seconds. And I’d say that most of that phone call was disagreements.
I’d say a lot of the phone call was me defending Dave Neal. And he and I just see things differently, which I don’t think that surprises any of you that has been following this case. And when I say me, you know, I’m on the side of the justice for Clayton crew, Dave Neal, Megan Fox, everyone that’s covered it from that side that tweets at him constantly and shows him stuff.
And you know, my whole thing was, man, I, I just, I don’t understand where you’re coming from with some of the things that you’ve said in blogs, some of the things you’ve said online. And kind of, we had a back and forth there and I’m like, okay, I, I appreciated though, the fact that I was able to debate him, I understand a lot of you like coming after him online.
And I just don’t think that’s the right approach. And I’m not sitting, look, you know, how close I am to Dave Neal. This is not a, Hey, everyone lay off David Gingras. It’s not that at all. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. But what I am saying is I don’t think anything productive is ever going to get done over Twitter.
He even admitted to me in the phone call, got it on tape, I can be a dick when I write. I said, you are, I said, you can be, you are a dick when you write. And he said, yeah, I don’t know where it comes from, but as you can see, Steve, in a back and forth conversation, while we disagree on everything, we can at least have a healthy debate about it.
I said, I agree. That’s fine. And I, and I’ve put it, this, it has nothing to do with really Gingras at all. I’ve always agreed. You can never have a debate on Twitter. It’s never going to work ever. There’s no reason to debate David Gingras on Twitter. And I’ve told him, I said, you got to stop responding to people.
Why are you doing this? You’re making yourself look horrible. And you know, he says, you know, he’s going to stop, you know, action, speak louder than words. We’ll see. So we talked for 50 minutes on a Friday and I, and I left it with like, man, there’s so much I want to talk to this guy about, so I ended up talking to him again on Saturday.
And that call was, as I look at the file here, that call was 39 minutes and 33 seconds on Saturday. And again, it’s not for public consumption. It’s for my own safety. He knows it’s being recorded. You can hear me at the beginning of both phone calls. All right, David, I’m pressing record right now. He doesn’t care.
Because I think that we’ve developed a rapport over this weekend to where he knows that I’m, that’s not my goal here. But on Saturday, what I really wanted to do was kind of nail him down, not nail him down, because that sounds like, Oh, I’m, you know, I have some sort of target on him, but what I did want to say is kind of get across to him.
David, you got to understand why the JFC crew, myself, Dave Neal, Megan Fox, the reason why we say the things that we do about Laura, because I feel like you’ve either turned a blind eye to it, or you don’t care, and you have basically said in one of his first emails, I think his first email to Dave Neal, was like, I don’t deal with liars.
I don’t like liars. I don’t want to deal with liars. I don’t want to represent liars. I can read you the exact quote. But in that email to Dave Neal, he said, I have told Laura and I have told Greg Woodnick, the same thing. If Laura is lying, I will withdraw my, from this case in a heartbeat. And if Laura is lying, she will lose this case.
And I won’t lose a wink of sleep over it. If Laura is lying, she should lose this case. So my thing here is now, look, I’ve seen people tweet at Gingras and they tweet all the stuff that we want answers to they’ll tweet him videos of things. They’ll tweet him documents of things. They’ll tweet him quotes from depositions.
And just say, Gingras, explain this. And as you know, he doesn’t really respond to examples that you send him. So this is where I kind of wanted to get at him of, Hey man, I don’t know what your deal is, but I want you to hear the truth. Because the only truth that you are hearing is from your client. She’s the only one that you’ve gotten your information from.
And I believe that you have been misled by your client. I believe Laura’s lied to you from the very beginning. That’s why. And, and I get it as your lawyer, you’re only going off what she tells you. And maybe you are burying your head in the sand about certain things. I don’t know. But what I want to do is have a healthy.
Discussion of David. The reason why people think this about Laura, the reason why we have called her the things that we have and called her out for this is because of this, this, this, this and this, like all the examples that the JFC crew have piled up over since September of last year when this case went public and David Gingras twice on Saturday told me in the phone call 100 percent I’d be willing to listen to you.
So that is the goal right now. Now you can say, Steve, he’s setting you up, Steve. He knows all this stuff. I’m telling you, he doesn’t, maybe he should. Maybe his job as a lawyer is to do that. I don’t know. He has said there are things in this case that he is unaware of, and he knows that the JFC crew knows more facts than he does about certain things in this case.
Has he read every single sentence of every motion filed before he took Laura’s case? Absolutely not. So that’s what, but that’s the thing, the JFC crew pretty much has, and that’s what we want to get his opinion on or present it to him because you can say all you want about, he should already know this.
And if he doesn’t, he’s not doing his job as a lawyer, whatever the case may be. We now have the ability to confront him on it and say, look, here are all the reasons why we believe Laura Owens was never pregnant. You have said you absolutely wanted to percent believe Laura. And if that’s the only person who’s telling you stuff as her lawyer, yeah, you’re probably going to say that, but I want you to at least hear us out.
If we run down all these facts, things that have been proven wrong, inconsistencies, lies in her stories, documentation, fabrications that she has done, if we lay all this out to him in a video and he says, yeah, I don’t buy any of it, I still believe my client, then no harm done, everyone’s going to basically feel the same way about him before this interview takes place, but I’m telling you, Okay.
Having spoken to him and look, this is not, trust me. I’m very well aware of how he’s treated people, how he’s treated Dave, how he’s treated Lauren. I’m very well aware. This is not a, I want to make David Gingras into a good guy. What I want to do is I want to know why or what he thinks of these things that he claims he doesn’t know about.
Well, now he can’t claim it because we’re going to show him. So I don’t know when this interview is going to happen. I know a lot of you think it’s never going to happen. All I can say is. You haven’t spent the last three days talking to him. That’s the best answer I can give you. Because yes, I talked to him again yesterday.
That call was a little bit shorter. It was only 23 minutes, but I’ve gotten some insight into things that hopefully we’ll get out when, when Jingerson, I do the video, but he is going to come on my podcast. He wants to come on my podcast and he wants, and he said, look, I will listen to anything you have to say.
He goes, it might not change my mind, but I’m willing to listen because I honestly, and you could think I’m crazy. But I honestly don’t think that David Gingras knows all the stuff. I’m talking about every detail that the JFC crew has found since September of last year when this case went public. In fact, I know for a fact he doesn’t know every detail.
He knows the basics of it. He knows the basics of things. But he does not know every detail. And if you say he’s lying to me, Steve, okay, well then great. Now is our time and now is our chance to get him on camera and say, now you know it. What do you think? And he’s like, I think this is all garbage. I don’t believe any of it.
Great. Fine. No harm done. Everyone’s going to think about you what they think about you already. But I want him, this is the, you know, everybody that goes after him, he doesn’t respond to anybody on Twitter except to fight every once in a while. But like you said, you know, the frustration with him is when you do send him stuff, the videos, the documentations, what about this?
What about this? He ignores those, right? I know it, you know it. Now he can’t ignore it. He might not have anything to say in return, but I find this very interesting that he is now got somebody that he’s willing to talk to. I’ll take the bullets for us. I’ll do it. I don’t know when this is going to happen, probably going to happen fairly soon within the next couple of weeks.
I mean, this is Thanksgiving week, so it’s not happening this week, but I know there are doubters out there. I understand. You think he’s setting me up. I don’t even know what he’d be setting me up for, but you think he’s setting me up. All I can say is you have not spoken to this guy for a combined two hours over the last three days.
You don’t know. And this is not to say, Hey, he’s a great guy. Leave him alone. And I think it’s despicable what he’s done and what he has said to Dave Neal and what he put Dave Neal through when his wife was nine months pregnant. Trust me, I hate it. He knows I hate it and he knows I’m close with Dave and we’ll touch on that subject later on down the line.
However, this interview is going to happen and I just want it out there because we are going to now, he cannot claim ignorance anymore and he knows that and he wants to come on. So let’s do it.
