Wanted to just give a quick, quick update on the David Ingris story. What’s going on with him and I. And nothing new to report in terms of when it’s going to happen. Like I said, nothing’s going to happen this week with Thanksgiving going on this week, but I will say, I appreciate all of you who did reach out to me.
Give me your thoughts about putting him on. Just know that this isn’t some sort of platform or isn’t some sort of, Hey, everyone, let’s give this guy a chance thing. This is not that I’m really not bringing him on to interview him. I’m bringing him on to inform him and just keep that in mind. This is not, I’m very well aware of what he has said and done online to Dave, to Lauren, to the JFC crew, to women in general, I don’t appreciate what he’s done.
I’ve made it known to him. And you know, I wouldn’t say it got contentious over the phone with him about it. But we just disagree on things. It’s plain and simple. Just like, if you, any of you were to speak to him, he would disagree with you as well. It’s just, that doesn’t mean you can’t bring him on to try and better him.
Not saying turn him to our side, but bring him on to be like, Hey, you’ve been told one thing and I guarantee you don’t know about this, this, this, and this. And I understand a lot of you want to tell me he should know about that. He’s her lawyer. I’m telling you based on two hours of conversations that I’ve had with him, he doesn’t know everything.
So let’s just be patient. We’ll wait for a couple more videos to come out by him on YouTube. I think he’s got some coming. I don’t know if they’re coming this week just because he’s with family for Thanksgiving. I don’t expect anything from him this week, maybe next week. We’ll see. All right. The other thing that you guys reached out to me for yesterday.
Was to tell me what a great singer I am. I should probably go on Broadway with my rendition of defying gravity. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it. No, you guys came to me and filled me in on a couple of things in regards to wicked, and I appreciate that. However, I’m disappointed in myself for taking to the internet and doing a little bit more of a deep dive.
I think the biggest thing was the question that I asked yesterday was when was this backstory established? When the movie came out in 1939, I didn’t think that was the case because you would think that we would have heard about the Elphaba and Glinda backstory well before the early two thousands. So yes, a book was written in 1995, the wicked series by an author.
I think his last name is McGuire. And that’s where the backstory was created. So it’s like, okay, makes sense now. And then I believe when I Googled, when did wicked hit Broadway, it was 2003. So it took eight years for wicked the story to hit Broadway. And I, like I said, I must’ve seen it sometime. I moved to Texas in 2006 and I pretty much am positive.
I saw wicked. Before I lived in Texas. So I must’ve seen it between Oh three and Oh six. So yeah, basically over 20 years ago or right around 20 years ago, which is why I don’t remember anything about the story, which is why I didn’t remember the whole Galinda versus Glinda thing. However, yesterday really disappointed when I’m doing a deep dive.
And while it did say spoilers are included in this story, I thought it was spoilers about the movie. Which I can read those. I saw the movie. But it was more stories about, it was more spoilers about the story. And I don’t know if I shouldn’t even give you a spoiler alert here, but the main spoiler, which I clearly didn’t remember from the play or else I wouldn’t have been disappointed when I read this yesterday is I’m not even going to say the spoiler, but you know what I’m talking about when I say Elphaba wizard.
I did not know that. Yes, like I said saw the play 20 years ago. I don’t remember that whatsoever. So reading that yesterday I’m kind of bummed because I believe I would think that’s the main get of Part two which we get next November, so I’m disappointed. I read that but I’m also like, okay How did it come about?
How do they find out? How do they react all that stuff? So I guess I still have that to look forward to But man, I was not thrilled reading that. I thought it was really cool, uh, to learn the small fact that something that I’ve always just kind of been curious about since I’ve always known Wicked, the character, the green witch, Wicked Witch of the West, her name was Elphaba.
And I’m like, where did they come up with Elphaba? Just a random name for such an iconic character. Come to find out yesterday, thanks to you guys, that Elphaba is the pronunciation. Of the initials, the person who wrote wizard of Oz L Frank bomb L F B L.
It’s creative, but it makes sense now. Then I started reading more things on like threads and Twitter of people who saw the movie and gave their thoughts. There were a lot of Easter eggs that I was not clearly looking for or paying attention to in the movie that I’m now well aware of, because the one thing that I did think We were going to see is Nessa with the Ruby slippers on.
Well, apparently we did during one of the scenes and I didn’t see it. Not only that, apparently she clicks the heels together three times. And we know that Nessa is the one in the Wizard of Oz, Wicked Witch of the East, who Dorothy’s house falls on. So, I thought that was interesting. Did not see that. There are, there are apparently plenty of other Easter eggs that they throw at us.
And I was just like, whoa, are you serious? I missed that. So, good to know those things. The Glinda, like I said, the Glinda, Glinda thing. Galinda, Glinda thing. Again, I realized when I was on the movie. And there was A couple other ones, they did reference Elphaba not getting wet, but they didn’t really explain it.
Maybe that comes out in part two because they did have, um, Morrible. Is that her name? It was raining and Elphaba had. The umbrella above her, and Morrible said don’t get wet and had the umbrella above her, but did she, I don’t think it was ever explained why she couldn’t get wet unless I missed it earlier in the movie.
Uh, the poppies that put everybody to sleep, that was obviously a callback to Wizard of Oz, but the one dude was the only guy that didn’t go to sleep. And in Wizard of Oz, didn’t it put them all to sleep? Didn’t it put Dorothy, Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow all to sleep? I don’t care. I thought it did. Uh, we realized how we got The Flying Monkeys and, you know, just all these things.
It was just like, great callbacks. Really liked it. Speaking of really liking it, you know what comes out this weekend, right? Moana 2. I really dug Moana. Loved that movie. Now, I’ve only seen it, I think, one and a half times. And I don’t know the songs, but when Moana 2 comes out, I’m probably gonna go see that too.
Moana 2. And whatever the main song in Moana two is, I’m sure I will give you my rendition of it on the first podcast I do after I see Moana two, but that was one that I went into it like, okay, you know, obviously big wrestling fan, fan of the rock, and I’m like, this’ll be interesting. And it was really, really good.
And. I can’t picture that, I can’t think of that song from Moana that’s the most popular one off the top of my head right now, like I can with Wicked, probably because I just saw Wicked. But, I’m sure I’ll be singing some Moana song after I watch it. Sometime next week. And finally, I want to end with this.
You know, I always call people magazine out or us weekly out when they do a story, usually related to Travis Kelsey or something sports related where, you know, their job is to cover pop culture, music, film, TV, when they cover sports, they inevitably get something wrong. Well, this has nothing to do with sports, but sometimes I criticize them for their headline grabbing stories that don’t even really tell the full story or it’s very misleading.
This one I saw yesterday. Was not very misleading at all. And I didn’t even need to click on the story to have an opinion on it. The headline on people. com yesterday said this. Diddy will have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Thanksgiving day in jail. I mean, good. Number one, number two, maybe it went into detail in the story.
I didn’t want to click the story because I didn’t really care to read it, but maybe the story covered, well, are these uncrustables? Or is somebody making him peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Thanksgiving? I wonder if that was in the story either way, couldn’t be happening to a worse dude. And I just kind of got to know, you know what, if Diddy likes peanut butter and jelly with grape jelly, give him strawberry.
Scott didn’t deserve anything. So. I just want to know, are they Uncrustables or somebody’s making him sandwiches? They’re very important things here, people. Very, very important. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Uh, follow me on Apple Podcasts. Also, rate and review, but you gotta hit play.
It’s the only way it counts as a download. Sports Daily will be up in an hour from now. Check that out. We are only a couple days away from Thanksgiving. So anyway, thank you all again for listening. I really appreciate it and I will talk to you tomorrow. See.
