Daily Roundup 12/9 – The Eras Tour Comes To An End And We Show Appreciation, Katie Holmes Addresses A Fake Rumor About Her Daughter, & An SNL Staple From Wayback Returns

You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thank you all for tuning in on this Monday. Good show for you today. I’m going to go over something that I talked about in Friday’s call, or podcast. Maybe it was Thursday’s. It is officially over.

That is the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, which has been going on for the last 18 months. We’ll pay tribute to that. A story involving Suri Cruz and Tom Cruise. We don’t ever hear many stories about him and her, probably because they have no relationship whatsoever. But a story first focused this surfaced this weekend and Katie Holmes actually addressed it.

Also, we’re going to get to some Saturday Night Live talk and a couple other stories. We’ll get to all that momentarily. So remember on Friday when I was talking about the fact that Thursday’s podcast which was Wait, Thursday was six Friday was the sixth. So on Friday’s podcast. I was like, I always forget when my anniversary of My podcast is is it December 4th or December 6th?

And on Friday, I was like, yeah, my anniversary Was eight years ago December 4th 2016 was my very first podcast and I was like, well, what do I need to do? You know, I always forget if it’s the 4th or the 6th, I always, I, I always knew it was the first week of December, but I could, whatever reason, couldn’t ever remember 4th of the 6th.

So I was like, Hey, I’ll just put an alert in my phone, which is what I do for most things to remind me of. So over the weekend. I put the alert in my phone, Hey, December 6th podcast alert, set it to notify me yearly. And then I realized, wait a second, if I set the alert on the sixth or see, I’m already, I’m already confusing myself.

The fourth is my anniversary. So I set it, I set my yearly reminder on December 4th, but then over the weekend I realized, wait a second. I just set my yearly reminder on December 4th. Well, that’s not going to help me considering I record the fourths podcast the night before on the third. So I need to remind myself on December 3rd, Hey, tomorrow’s podcast that you’re actually recording tonight on the third, you need to remind people that it is your anniversary.

So I’m glad I caught myself with that because there was a good chance. 365 days was going to go by and I was going to get an alert on my phone on December 4th, 2025 that, Hey, today’s your, well, next year it will be my nine year anniversary of starting a podcast. And I would have been a day late again because I would have been like, Oh crap, I wasn’t seeing it until the fourth.

I’m actually proud of myself that I caught that. And I made the correlation of, Hey, you got to record that. You got to remind yourself on the third every year. So that’s what I did. It is now in my phone as December 3rd. Which also shouldn’t be too hard to remember because December 3rd is a good friend of mine’s birthday.

So I have that in my phone and now I have a, an alert saying, Hey, dumb ass. Tomorrow is your podcast anniversary. Don’t forget to mention it in your podcast that you record on December 3rd. Speaking of, well, this, I guess this wouldn’t really be an anniversary, but We have come to the end of the Taylor Swift eras tour.

This past weekend in Vancouver, Canada was her last weekend or her last stop on her tour that started in March of 2023. And when it first came out, it was just like, Oh, 55 dates. And then it got extended and then it got extended and then international dates came and then it’s like, Oh no, even after international, I’ll come in back to the States to do new Orleans, Miami and Indianapolis.

So I’m pretty sure she did every NFL stadium, if I’m not mistaken. I mean, obviously for Taylor Swift, when she does her, the last two tours that she’s done reputation and eras, she’s only done stadiums. She does not do arenas anymore. So. Just kind of looking at it, I’m going over all the NFL teams right now.

Buffalo, I don’t think she did. I don’t think she did a show in Buffalo. But Miami, absolutely, she did Hard Rock Stadium. Jets and Giants, she did MetLife. New England, I’m pretty sure she did Foxborough. Pittsburgh, I know she did, what is it, Akershaw Stadium now? Baltimore. Did she do Baltimore? I’m sure if she did, she did where the Ravens play.

Cincinnati, I’m almost positive she did. Cleveland, I’m almost positive she did. I know in Houston she did NRG. I know in Indianapolis she did their stadium. I don’t know if she ever did Jacksonville. She definitely did Tennessee. She did where the Titans play. She definitely did Casey. That’s where her boyfriend plays chargers.

She definitely did. Sofi Denver. She definitely did. I can’t remember what it is. It’s still in power stadium or whatever. Vegas. She clearly did Allegiant stadium, Philly. She did that stadium, Washington, DC. I’m sure she did that. She definitely did Dallas. Cause that’s the one I went to. She did AT and T Detroit.

I’m guessing she did. Doesn’t bring about Minnesota. I know she did their stadium. Obviously she didn’t do one in Green Bay. The bears she did, she had to have done soldier field. Right. I don’t think she Tampa. Yeah, she did Tampa. What am I talking about? Atlanta. She definitely did the Mercedes Benz dome, new Orleans.

She did the superdome Carolina. I believe she did their stadium Seahawks. I’m sure she did. There’s Rams obviously playing. Sofi, Arizona, I believe was the first stadium. She did it in. And then San Francisco, she did the Niner stadium. So I mean, kind of going over this outside of green Bay. Jacksonville, I know she didn’t do Green Bay.

The ones that I’m questionable on are Jacksonville and

She did all those. Carolina, New Orleans, Atlanta, Tampa. I think Jacksonville might have been the only other one. Only other NFL city that she never did. But, it’s an incredible feat. I’ve talked about this enough with my friends. In that, what is, where does her career go from here? Like if she were to just call it quits and retire, it’s one of the greatest, if it’s not the greatest tour that’s ever happened.

And she’s had one of the greatest careers ever. I don’t think she’s done making music. I don’t think she’s done touring, but her next tour that she does. If she goes back to a normal tour and does 25, 28 songs in two and a half hours, are people going to be like, Oh, Oh, last time you gave us three and a half hours.

Why aren’t you giving us, you know, it’s almost feel like people are going to be disappointed. She was, she’s going to do the same exact things. I would think, I don’t think she wants to go back to doing arenas, but she wants to do a major, major production. And it’s just like, what is the next tour look like?

She just toured for a year and a half. And it’s ending obviously in December of 2024. I can’t imagine this woman steps foot on another stage until earliest 2027. I think all of 2025 is out. I’d be surprised if she toured in 2026, because the other thing is, we don’t know when a next album is coming. If it is coming, we just don’t know.

So that’s what I’m curious about is what is her next step? Obviously I will be following it. I will support it, but she can’t possibly top the Eras tour. Can she like, there’s no, she’s not going to do a four and a half hour show. There’s no way the only thing she can do is basically do the same thing and I thought the reputation tour was great but when she What I was watching online back in March of 2023 when she started in Arizona on the eras tour and we found out that she?

Was gonna do three she does three and a half hours no intermission, and she sings 45 songs people were like And this is when we thought the tour was literally just U. S. Well, she had only announced U. S. in about 55 cities or 55 dates, something like that. We knew that she was going to add an international Segment to this tour, but nobody in a million years thought, I think it ended up being close to 150 performances over a year and a half.

It’s never been done before. It’ll never be done again. Maybe a band does it, but it’s one thing to have a band that just sits up there on stage. Where’s the same thing the whole time and rocks out for two and a half or three hours. I think that’s completely different. Then what Taylor Swift pulled off for the last year and a half.

And yes, I’m absolutely Brown nosing and kissing her ass, but credit where credit is due, whether you like Taylor Swift or not, you cannot say that this is one of the most impressive things ever done in the history of music, if not the most impressive, be objective, just say, wow, it is unbelievable over 150 different shows, no intermissions, three and a half hours, 45 songs.

If you never went to it, I understand because it got very pricey, but I’m telling you, it was one of the greatest things you will have ever seen. It was that good. So I just wanted to say props to Taylor Swift for an unbelievable tour and probably the most memorable tour in the history of music. And it’s certainly the most profitable tour in the history of music.

So congratulations to her and what a successful run. Can’t wait to see what comes next from her. This podcast is brought to you by, here we go. Mint mobile. Very, very easy to do.
