This next email has a bunch of questions in it. So let’s get to these. Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season. Here are the things I look forward to. Nikki Glaser hosting the Golden Globes. I will wait for the montage of just Nikki.
Absolutely myself, her. You know how the Golden Globes is. Especially when Ricky Gervais was hosting. He was the biggest roaster out there and he had no filter. I’m telling you, Nikki Glaser is going to be, Just as brutal, if not more brutal than Ricky Gervais ever was. She is going to eviscerate that room.
She’s gonna kill it. If you saw the Tom Brady roast, you know what to expect from her. She’s not gonna hold back on anybody in that room. And the Golden Globes, as we know, it’s a lot more casual, a lot more laid back. They’re at tables. They’re drinking. It’s not as stuffy as the Oscars, man. She, I can’t wait for this.
She is going to destroy that room for sure. The challenge all stars finally coming to MTV. So I can see it January 26th agreed. I’ve never watched challenge all stars. And I’ll tell you the reason why not that I didn’t have paramount plus because I did, I just, I find it hard to go over to streaming sometimes for shows like this.
I don’t know why I know it sounds stupid. The wave of the future is streaming. I get it now that it’s on MTV, I’ll just hit DVR record and I’ll record the whole season and I’ll watch it weekly. That’s what it comes down to for me because they Steve, but you don’t even have to hit record if it’s on a stream service, the episodes are just there.
Yeah, exactly. But I don’t want to go to Paramount plus for anything really. Unfortunately, I just never really watched anything there. But now that all star season five is on MTV starting in January. Trust me, I’ll have the season pass set to record on Challenge All Stars and I’ll watch it. Squid Game 2 on Netflix, 12 26, we’ll be watching that.
I don’t know if I’ll start it tomorrow, but if they’re releasing, are they releasing the whole thing on Netflix? Or is this a first season? Drop is going to be the first two or three episodes. And then we’re going to get one a week. I can’t remember what Netflix does. If they do binging, I think they do.
Maybe the whole season is dropping tomorrow. If the whole season is dropping tomorrow, I will finish squid game two by the end of the weekend, just because I’ll be reading. It’ll be impossible to avoid spoilers on that. Next one. Maybe the new Superman movie. I saw the trailer on Facebook with a ton of comments about how it and the new Superman actor suck.
Yeah, I, the trailer looks really cool. And if you’re not into the whole Superman thing or DC Comics, you probably think, what the fuck, who cares? I’m a big Superman guy. Now, I’m not a fan of the recent Superman stuff, the recent DC stuff, the Brandon Routh ones, and whoever the hell else played him. Just never got into those.
I’m an Christopher Reeve Superman guy. Type of guy, but the story itself, I’ve always liked. I do like the fact that James gun is now directing this Superman and it’s in good hands with him. So I’m fine with that. I thought the trailer looked really cool, but I don’t know what the story is. So that’s going to determine whether or not this movie is any good.
I’m not going to basically judge it on. Does this guy look like Christopher Reeve, or can he pass as Superman? Looks fine to me as of now, whatever. But, it’s gonna come down to the plot, and if this is just something that’s just stupid, which one of the Brandon Routh ones, I think Superman Returns had a horrible plot.
And I don’t even remember it. I remember walking out of the theater going, That was such a dumb premise. Plus there wasn’t a lot of flying. I don’t know if you remember the one, I think it was Superman returns with Brandon Ralph. He didn’t fly a lot. He did a lot of floating in the air where he was like vertical and just kind of floating.
I’m like, I want my Superman to fly. Obviously, if you’re floating, you’re in the air, you’re technically flying, but you know what I mean? What is the best Christmas present you ever gave received the worst? Oh, jeez. I will say the best Christmas gift I ever received. Was probably from my high school girlfriend who gave me this thing that was wrapped.
It was very soft and I opened it up and it was like a blanket that she had knitted. And I’m like, I’m a teenager in the back of my mind. I’m thinking, Oh, great. Thanks. A blanket, you know, a teenager. I want some toys or something, something electronic, but inside, and she did that on purpose because she knew I’d be like, because she had talked up her present to me.
She had said, you’ll never guess what it is. So when I got it and it’s this blanket that she like knitted, I’m like, again, but It was what was in the blanket inside the blanket that was rolled up was a V a VHS cassette tape, and it was a three, three and a half minute movie of videos that we had taken, you know, our prom stuff, our formal stuff, videos that we had shot of each other.
And she had put it all together in a three and a half minute montage, you know, set to music. And so that was really cool. At the time, by the way, I have a story about that high school girlfriend. I just spoke to her. Two days ago and barring any changes, she’s coming to the party next year. She’s married.
She’s got two daughters. We’ve kept in touch. I went to her wedding for Christ’s sakes. She got married in 1999. I went to her wedding. I’m still friends with her. I’m still friends with her sister. But she told me the other day when we were talking, we, we, we catch up every year. And her birthday is on Christmas Eve.
So we catch up every year. We always call each other on each other’s birthdays, but she’s been married for like 25 years now. She said, yeah, me and my husband are coming and my sister and her husband are coming. So it’d be great. She wanted to come out for, because it’s my 50th, so that’ll be cool. But yeah, she gave me coolest gift best present I ever gave.
I’ve given a lot of good Christmas presents. I’ll be honest. I can’t name one worst.
I’d have to think about this. I’m not sure. Do you buy your dog a Christmas present or special meal? In the past, I bought a feral cat a plain McDonald’s burger. He liked it. I don’t do anything special for my dog at Christmas time. I mean, I guess I do buy extra treats at Christmas time. Yeah. I don’t wrap it up.
I don’t dress my dog in any Christmas clothes either. So I guess my answer to that would be no. And then finally in this email, best X Christmas song, all we want for Christmas by Mariah Carey, last Christmas by wham. And do they know it’s Christmas time at all? You know what? I don’t want to make this podcast any longer than it needs to be.
So I’m going to talk about this tomorrow. Has anybody ever checked out the lyrics to do they know it’s Christmas? I am. When that song came out in the eighties, I was like, Hey, this is catchy. This is really cool. They’re raising money for charity. Then as I got older, when I actually started paying attention to lyrics and songs, I’m so confused on what the hell kind of message they were trying to get out in that song, because it actually sounds like they’re making fun of people and insulting the people who don’t have a lot of money and who are poor.
I, some of the lines in that song don’t make any sense unless I’m just. Misunderstanding the message they were trying to get across. We’re going to go over that tomorrow.
