It was the biggest story of the night in bachelor nation. The interview we were all waiting for Rachel McConnell on Alex Cooper’s call her daddy podcast.
At its peak, I think there were 225, 000 people watching live. That’s kind of funny. What do I get a couple hundred if that, when my Thursday podcast go on my YouTube channel. Anyway look, there is so much here and if you watched it, you know what I’m talking about, but basically the first 40 minutes were just.
Tell us about your relationship. However, in those first 40 minutes, we found out that Alex Cooper gets her spoilers from reality. Steve exactly at the 20 minute Mark, 20 minutes and zero seconds. She starts talking about the fact that she had read courtesy of reality. Steve about the spoiler. Of Rachel and Matt.
And then a little bit later in the conversation, maybe like two minutes later, they were talking about the fact that remember they broke up right around the, after the final rose or at the, after the final rose and Alex asked her, well, did you start seeing other people? Did he, and Rachel told the story of grace.
If you are a late comer to my podcast and you don’t remember this back from 2020, basically a woman named Grace reached out to me when she saw that Rachel was with Matt in New York and she said, Steve, I live down here in Florida and literally two days ago, Matt was trying to get me to meet up with him and it wasn’t to play tiddlywinks.
So. So I got in touch with someone in Rachel’s camp. I said, you should probably know this because I’m guessing Rachel doesn’t know this. And everything that Rachel relayed on Call Her Daddy last night is exactly what went down. She didn’t embellish it. She didn’t omit anything. And if you remember the interview with Grace back then, and you compared it to what Rachel said last night, it all made sense.
And everything she said at the time Her actions after she found out a hundred percent were in line. She basically told Matt, I’m done. You know, if you’re serious about me, you won’t be gallivanting around and trying to get with other women two days before you knew I was flying to New York to stay with you.
So they broke up for about a week. He met her in Atlanta. He was down there for work. He showed up at her house. They got back together and he said, look, I screwed up, wanted to be with you. I want to be with you. And that’s it. It’s just going to be us. And they’ve been together ever since. And there were interviews done right after that where Rachel basically said, yeah.
I gave him an ultimatum. Like we’re not, I’m not going to be with you when you keep this. Oh, I’m going to keep my options open. You’re either going to be serious about me or not. So that was really cool to hear. I’m glad that Alex Cooper is a reality. Steve fan, Alex, I’m available. Have me on your podcast anytime.

The second largest podcast in the world reads me or is aware of me and uses me for information when they want to look it up, obviously she wasn’t who she was. Now back in 2020, but getting that pop from her last night was really cool.
And I really appreciate Rachel being honest. And throwing it out there and saying, yeah, reality, Steve came to me, came to someone in my camp and said, Hey, this is what’s going on. Rachel should probably know about this. And that’s exactly what I did. I wasn’t trying to, you know, interfere, but it was big enough to where.
I had spoken to Grace, this woman in Tampa, or I, I shouldn’t say Tampa. It was Florida. It might’ve, I think it might’ve been Miami. I don’t remember the city, but Grace came to me and she was legit. And she showed me everything that she needed to show me to prove this wasn’t just some rando. And obviously what I did ended up being the right move because Rachel thanked me for it after the fact and ended up breaking up with Matt for a week.
Because, and I also put Rachel in touch with grace. Like they spoke, it wasn’t just a reality. Steve told me that a girl got in contact with Matt. So I’m done with him. No, no, no. She spoke with grace. This was a major, major thing back in 2020. If you remember regardless. Anyway, they moved on from that.
Obviously a week later, he comes down to Atlanta for business. They meet up and he tells me he wants to be serious about her. And they stayed together for four years. Now, a lot of what we heard in that interview, which was an hour and 40 minutes, like I said, 40 minutes in is when they started talking about.
Okay, what happened with this breakup? Where were you? And something that I told you a couple of days ago was proven to be true in that interview where Rachel said it all happened in Tokyo, but everyone was saying, Hey, hours before. Matt posted his caption where he broke up with Rachel. They were eating pizza in London.
And I told you, they don’t post in real time. They’re like one of those couples that just, they were in London. She said that in the interview, but they weren’t in London the night before. They were in Tokyo at the time of the breakup. They just are one of these couples that doesn’t post in real time.
Probably because they don’t want to be burglarized. And probably because they don’t want people to know where they are. So yes, when he posted on his Instagram story hours before his breakup, that they were in London eating pizza, they weren’t in London eating pizza, not in real time. They were in London before that, but yeah, they were a couple that just absolutely does not post in real time.
So they start talking about the breakup right around the 40 minute mark and what went down and everything in Tokyo. And I’ll get to that momentarily.
