Bachelor data, Susanna Summers on Instagram had a very good video on this because there’s a lot of panic slash myths about why this happened.
First off, we don’t know why it happened. They didn’t give a reason and the pro and the. We’re probably never going to get a reason why they paused it. They’re never going to come out and say, we decided to pause bachelorette because blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. The show never answers about anything. Shit.
It’s been what seven months since Jen season ended. Have they said one thing about Devin being a contestant on the show? And just the fact that they overlooked the fact that he had a restraining order out against him in college. No, they haven’t even addressed it. They haven’t even said. We didn’t know about it.
They just have avoided everything. So don’t expect this franchise to come out and say why exactly they are getting rid. Or pausing Bachelorette season and just going straight into Bachelor in Paradise. Cause remember the Bachelorette usually aired back in the day. I want to say outside of the last three or four seasons, the Bachelorette would always film as at the same time, middle to end of March.
It would end filming first week of May, and then it would start airing end of May. You remember those days it did that for the longest time. So this season was wrapping up mid to end July. And then right from that, while the Bachelorette was airing from end of May to mid to end of July, they were filming Bachelor in Paradise all of the month of June.
So it was ready to go. The week after Bachelorette stopped airing at the end of July. So Bachelorette or Bachelor in Paradise was still running in the summer. It would basically run all of August and then the first couple of weeks of September, but it would always be done on that Monday or Tuesday, right before the NFL season started.
So it was still a summer show, but the Bachelorette started earlier. Bachelorette used to start end of May. Now you had Katie season, which didn’t start till the end of June. And then the last couple of seasons, charity and Jen, they didn’t start till after July 4th weekend. And that’s because of ABC scheduling.
We know why the bachelor has gotten pushed back. It used to always be the first Monday in January, but then ABC took over the college football playoff, which got extended. And now you can’t start the bachelor until the college football national championship is played. Well, a couple of years ago, ABC not only took over the NBA finals, but they also picked up the NHL finals.
So, you cannot start the Bachelorette until the NBA Finals are over. So you’ve got that now you’re dealing with, and that’s why Charity and Gen Season have started after July 4th. Because you could be like, well, let’s start it in July, in the first Monday in July. Well, if it just so happens, what if the first Monday in July happens to be July 4th?
Then you have to wait another week, and you’re not going to start it in June if the July 4th happens on a Monday, because then you’ve got to take that day off. It’s just a whole mess. So, you’re not starting the Bachelorette season now until After July 4th weekend. So the bachelorette was going right up until that September date.
And then football started and you didn’t run anything opposite of football. And then with dance with the stars, having a fall season, you’ve got that to deal with. So unless you’re moving bachelor in paradise to a completely different night, which they did a couple of times. That’s why you were able to squeeze in bachelorette and bachelor in paradise all in the summer, because you started bachelorette in May.
airing it in May. Now it doesn’t air till July. And now in 2025, we’re not getting it at all. So that’s the way it used to work. So basically what we’re going to get is I’m assuming Bachelor in Paradise from what I heard end of April, beginning of May. So it’s going to film basically the whole month of May.
Probably means it’s going to take over bachelorettes spot where it’s been the last two years for charity and Jen bachelor in paradise will air July, August golden bachelor is going to have to air on a different night because they’re not going to run the golden bachelor on Monday nights, opposite of Monday night football.
Not to mention you can’t run it on ABC because ABC is going to have a few Mondays. From September to November, where they are broadcasting Monday Night Football. So you’re going to have to move Golden Bachelor to probably Wednesday or Thursday nights. So, schedule wise, that’s what we’re looking at. The whys, like I said.
Bachelor data has this all covered. Anybody thinks because Chris Harrison is gone or because the ratings are down. None of that is true. There’s no statistical evidence that shows the reason why they got rid of bachelorette is because of this. No, it’s not the way it works. Go check out bachelor data’s videos on Instagram.
It’s just a hell of a lot. Better job explaining it because she can show you charts and graphs as to why you’re wrong when you say things like oh They’re getting rid of Bachelorette because the ratings are down since Chris Harrison Ratings are down across the board on every single network and network television in general It’s not because Chris Harrison is gone The guy was on the show for two minutes an episode banging on a wine glass and standing there and just showing up in a rose Ceremony.
He’s not the reason why the ratings are down on the show now Remember a week before the bachelor Started back on January 20th, Mike Fleiss tweeted out. It’s a new day now. The truth will be told. Prepare to be shocked. Hashtag Bachelor Nation. Ugly shit coming. And then somebody asked him after the news broke this past weekend.
Seems like you knew the Bachelorette was getting canceled or paused for a couple weeks based on your past tweets. What happened? Who is Andy Reed? Why does leadership matter? Give us answer because. Mike Fleiss over the weekend tweeted leadership matters hashtag bachelorette handed hashtag Andy Reed And then he quote tweeted that tweet to him and wrote stay tuned hashtag bachelor nation So now looking back on Mike Fleiss tweet from July 20th where he said specifically It’s a new day, now the truth will be told.
Prepare to be shocked. Hashtag Bachelor Nation, ugly shit coming. While the news was announced this past Friday, this clearly means that there was talk of The Bachelorette being paused back on January 20th. I think it’s safe to say that Mike Fleiss at least knew what was being discussed. Hey, We might not bring back the bachelorette in 2025.
Why would he tweet that when the guy doesn’t tweet at all? He hadn’t tweeted in four months before that tweet. I told you about that tweet back on January 21st, the next day. And I said, this guy hasn’t tweeted since October 6th. And it was a retweet of something from a Dodger Padre game. And all of a sudden on January 20th, he’s going to say something very cryptic about the franchise.
So it clearly looks now like Mike Fleiss knew it was a possibility. But then we saw in the first two episodes of Grant Season, them promoting, Hey, if you want to sign up to be part of the Bachelorette, log in here. Here’s the website address, apply here. Well, my guess is Fleiss knew about rumblings that it was possibly being canceled.
There was probably talks going on whether or not to bring it back for 2025 or pause it. That’s why he wrote what he did. Why would he write prepare to be shocked? Hashtag bachelor nation, ugly shit coming. Now knowing what we know, he clearly had an idea, maybe it wasn’t finalized until recently, but he knew because he wouldn’t have put those tweets out there if he didn’t.
Now, what does he know? What will he say? The only connection Mike Fleiss has to this franchise is he created it. He’s no longer part of the franchise, he’s not on set, he’s not part of any decision making, he’s not part of any sort of day to day operations with this show. He’s not part of it at all, but it’s his creation.
So clearly he would hear rumblings. If his creation that he makes money off of every single time a franchise season airs, clearly he would know if he was hearing rumblings, something’s going on and maybe we’re not bringing it back. That’s why he tweeted what he did. Doesn’t mean he’s part of it. Doesn’t mean he had a say in it.
He clearly knew about it. So. Interesting that those tweets, which I brought up the day after he tweeted them. Now we have at least a little more clarity to being like, yeah, that’s probably what he was talking about back then. And then one small story to bring up Jen’s ex Jen trans X, Matt Rossi. Remember him?
He showed up on her season in New Zealand and we were just like, what’s this guy’s deal? Why is he showing up? And member Jesse Palmer during the episode said. Hey! I’m told that Matt has flown himself halfway around the world to New Zealand on his own dime just to have a conversation with Jen. We know that nothing on this show happens because someone decided on their own dime to just show up during a production of a television show.
It all has to be orchestrated by production. And nobody believed for a second that Jesse was telling the truth when he said that, well, Matt Rossi went on the batch makers podcast and was asked if he actually fronted his own money for that trip to New Zealand during gen trans season when it was being filmed last year.
And he said that, let’s just say it was partially subsidized, heavily subsidized. They tried to put me in coach, but I upgraded it. So yeah. I don’t think we’re breaking any major news here that he did not pay for his trip to New Zealand. And when he says heavily subsidized, my guess is it was completely paid for by the show.
They wanted to bring them on to cause drama. He wasn’t even the ex that Jen had been talking about in the first four or five episodes of her season where she talked about an ex that was terrible to her. He was the ex, the most recent ex that she actually had a decent relationship with. But yeah. Not surprising to hear that Matt Rossi did not pay for his flight to New Zealand because who would do that?
You know really as Jen said, I think she addressed this after her season ended She’s just like it’s not like we were filming in the States and he just got a flight that cost him a couple hundred Bucks he could fly to wherever New Orleans to come see us film and to come confront me New Zealand halfway around the world.
Of course, he’s not going to pay for that on his own dime. Just for a shot in hopes that Jen would say, yeah. Come join the show. Good story. Just probably something we knew, but it was nice to get it confirmed by him. Anyway. Thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Follow me on Apple podcasts.
