The “Bachelor” Grant – Episode 3 Recap, What Was Rose Thinking, the “Bachelorette” on Pause, & How You Can Attend the WTA Taping

Almost had a slight emergency last night as here in Dallas, select Dallas Mavericks games are shown on ABC. Last night was one of those times. So when I tuned in to the Bachelor at 7:00pm, it was the Mavs pre-game show for a 7:30 tip off. Thanks to one of my readers who lent me their Hulu Live username and password, I was able to watch when the show was about 30 min and I caught up. Otherwise, it aired here in Dallas from 1:11am-3:11am. So I wasn’t gonna get around to it until today, which would’ve pushed everything back a day. Plus, I have “Extracted” (which premiered on Fox last night) and episode 5 of “Paradise” on Hulu to watch today. Shhhhhhh, don’t tell me what happened. I haven’t watched yet, but I will today. Can’t wait.

“Reader Emails” coming tomorrow so email me at steve@realitysteve.com. Still have the leftovers from last week as I didn’t do a “Reader Emails” last Wednesday, so there should be a few in there. But I’m always accepting more. As you know, my YouTube Channel is still a thing and you can visit it at RealitySteve24 on YouTube.

The biggest news dropped late last Friday night when it was announced that the “Bachelorette” will be paused for the time being with a return date undecided yet. This stirred up a lot of takes over the weekend, but let me direct you to BachelorData’s video on it just to calm people down just a tad to start:

For those that don’t know how filming/airing has normally gone, it breaks down like this:

-Bachelor airs from Jan-March
-Bachelor finale airs mid-late March
-Bachelorette begins filming from March (usually the week the Bachelor finale airs) and wraps around 10 days into May

With this news from this past Friday night, that’s no longer happening. The Bachelorette will not be filming it’s normal season from mid March to beginning of May. We don’t know if it will be filmed at ANY point in 2025. The show hasn’t said anything, other than it’s on “pause” for 2025. Personally, I think it’s coming back, just not in 2025, because I don’t see where they can fit it. “Bachelor in Paradise” is now going to film in May (in the past it was always June), and that will air in “replace” of the Bachelorette, which for the last 2 seasons (bc ABC had NBA and NHL Finals rights in June) didn’t start airing until the Mondays after July 4th. So instead, BIP will film in May then start airing sometime in July. They haven’t released a start date for that.

The Golden Bachelor is coming back this year as well, and it films in the summer, probably July/August. My guess is that will start airing once BIP is done airing, but will HAVE to be on a different night since it’s not going to go up against Monday Night Football. And lets remember, both Golden seasons we’ve gotten thus far never aired on Mondays anyway. They had their own night. So lets say Golden Bachelor runs for 6-8 weeks. That’s put that finale somewhere in late October/early November. You wouldn’t start a Bachelorette season then AND not have it air on Monday nights. The only other time they did that was Michelle’s season, but that was wonky because that was the SECOND Bachelorette season of the 2021 calendar year (after Katie’s) and programming was all over the place due to COVID. So yeah to summarize all that – I don’t see Bachelorette happening anytime in 2025.

Now, WHY they decided to put it on pause for 2025? We don’t know. This show is horrible when it comes to transparency and ever giving us any answers, so this is no different. We’ll never know the true reason why they decided to pause it. But 2024 had 3 Bachelor franchise shows in it (Joey’s season, Charity’s season, and Joan’s season), and 2025 will have the same amount of Bachelor franchise shows as well (Grant’s season, BIP, and Golden Bachelor). So honestly, the amount of time the franchise is getting isn’t getting cut from the previous year. Just swapping out Bachelorette for BIP. Is that a big deal? Eh. Too early to tell. If Bachelorette NEVER returns, then yeah, that’s a big deal. But that’s not what the announcement said. They said it’s on pause. Big difference. My guess is it comes back next year and everything goes back to normal.

And one note: The Women Tell All is taping on Saturday, March 1st. I can’t remember the last time a Tell All taped on a weekend. It’s always been during the week as far back as I can remember, but maybe it’s happened before. If it has, it’s very infrequent.
