I’m just listening to Jared Fried’s commentary of the show, which is actually better than just the show by itself.
It got me thinking. Of the podcasts in your circle or adjacent to, who listens to you on the regular, like possibly even daily. Who listens to you only when you drop a story that is catching headlines? Who listens to you but denies they do it? Who do you think doesn’t listen to you because they don’t want to get spoiled.
I fell asleep listen night and haven’t caught the whole actually show so I checked out Dave Neal because he’s in my feed an hour before you are, then you, then Jared.
Comment: I have no idea who listens to my podcast in the franchise. There’s no way for me to check. I doubt any of them listen daily. But I know Courtney and Dave and She’s All Bach listen on occasion. Courtney and She’s All Bach listen on occasion because they’ll text me about something I said. Dave listens when I go on a rant because he’ll play it on his show. But as for the Bachelor franchise people, it’s hard to know. I think they’ll either listen to certain parts they want to hear, or, maybe even just read the transcript. But it’s impossible to know for sure.

Steve! Either Rachel K. and Craig from Southern Charm need to 1. date, 2. be the next Bachelor & Bachelorette, or 3. be cast on Dancing With the Stars. Both were blindsided by breakups recently after being in long relationships with people they saw themselves marrying. I don’t know enough about Craig to know if they’d made a good couple or not. And honestly, I think Rachael should stay away from reality TV guys. That’s just my opinion. DWTS for either of them I could totally see.
If Rachel doesn’t have to be the bachelorette, I vote for Chole. You are always saying that the Bachelor wants to do something new. I know they have never hired someone from a different network to be the bachelor, but trust me, Craig would be absolutely perfect!!!!! They would need to announce it early so they cast women who are serious about moving to Charleston, getting married, and having a baby quickly!
Comment: They won’t cast Craig as Bachelor just because he’s from outside the franchise and already made a name on another show. One thing this franchise doesn’t like doing is getting people from another franchise. This isn’t the Challenge or Amazing Race. Every time we see a new cast, I can’t think of anyone who made the show who’s already been on another major reality show. That’s something this franchise will always hang their hat on.

It was the game no one saw coming and had me thinking:
Both of their SB wins were against dynasties and QB GOATS. Both were epic games that made history. Their win over Tom Brady with the Philly Special and Nick Foles having the game of his life was nothing short of miraculous. And a hugely entertaining game for all football fans. Tonight’s trouncing to stop the Threepeat was also historic.
Jalen Hurts definitively spoke with his arm and legs and took home the win and MVP and as always so humbly represented himself.
Btw their loss in SBXV was also in New Orleans. So not only did they beat the team that beat them two years ago, they did it in a place that had brought them an embarrassing loss years ago. History has a way of bookending itself. Correction there. When they lost to KC two years ago, that was in Arizona, not New Orleans. No one gets the Super Bowl twice within a span of 3 years. They have them on a rotation. I think it has to be at least 5 years between hosting a Super Bowl. It might be even more.
Saquon and Cooper DeJean had birthdays today. How amazing is that? Saquon was shut out but was such a huge reason the Eagles made it to New Orleans. So glad to have him.
And only one Tush Push needed all night.

Comment: Philly fans should be ecstatic. Not only because of this win, but just for the fact that it wasn’t a fluke, and the team is also built for the long run. Sure they’ll lose some players off this team like every NFL team does, but most of their key players are locked up for years to come. So they should be good every year for the next 3-5 years at least. That’s all you can ask for as a fan. Put yourself in position to get to the playoffs every season and let the chips fall where they may.

Comment: I didn’t because I basically gave up on that show. I feel like I lose brain cells watching that show and I can’t bring myself to watch anymore. It’s mind numbingly dumb. But a few of you emailed me to tell me they’re on it so I’m sure I’ll hear when one, or both, get eliminated. Would be interesting if they go against each other.

I have a few questions for you.
1. Do you think that Brett Harris will be on Bachelor in Paradise? I’d think so.
2. Do you think that the entire cast of Bachelor in Paradise could be brought down to the beach all at once this season? I’m not sure they’re going to make that drastic of a change.
3. Since, there isn’t going to be a Bachelorette season in 2025, would the next Bachelorette come from Grant’s season? We don’t know. Still too early to tell. All we know is every Bachelorette (all 23 of them) were women who were on a previous season.
4. Would ABC have The Bachelorette air in January of 2026 and have The Bachelor air in the summerof 2026? Or, would the next Bachelor season air in January of 2026 and The Bachelorette air in June or July of 2026.

Comment: I don’t think so. I think they’ll stay with their normal programming with the Bachelor being the franchise that leads off the calendar year. It’s their longest running and most successful of all the shows. I think next year they just go back to their normal routine. Bachelor, Bachelorette, BIP, and then a Golden season.

Hi, Reality Steve!
Just a couple of random thoughts:
1. On last week’s episode, at the rose ceremony, Grant said something like, if you don’t get a rose, please know that it doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings for you (or feel a connection with you), which I thought was kinda a sweet thing to say. But then he added, “it’s not personal.” Now, I like Grant and definitely like him as the lead and think he’s doing a good job so far, but I almost laughed when he said that, because……..yeah, it kinda IS personal! Even though I think I understand how he meant it. Yeah, I think it was just giving them a soft break up and not wanting them to feel bad to think it’s something about them. Probably could’ve worded it differently, but when you start with 25 women and you can only pick one, clearly people are going home every week and it just could be he likes someone else, or developed a connection with someone else quicker. I wouldn’t take that personal.
2. Beverly…..During the episode, I was kinda shocked by the few seconds that were spent explaining Beverly didn’t feel well and had to leave……No one talked about it…No conversation with Grant telling him this news and seeing his disappointment, etc. It’s the least amount of time this franchise has ever spent on someone leaving the show for a medical or family reason. Makes more sense now, finding out that it was her appendix, which I’m sure meant emergency surgery, so her calling Grant or talking with him would have practically been impossible of course. But while watching last night, I felt bad for Beverly, given the 2 seconds they spent explaining her exit. I guess that’s why they let her go on Bachelor Happy Hour yesterday to explain herself.
3. Totally agree with you on Rose. When Rose apologized to Grant for misunderstanding what he had said, I was thinking: That’s not the point! Even if you truly believed Grant said that, it doesn’t reflect well on you that you would tell anyone that, LEAST OF ALL, Carolina!
Comment: Tomorrow in my conversation with Jacqueline Trumbull, she actually makes a good point where she defends what Rose did. I don’t 100% agree because I still don’t think she should’ve done it, but it’s a compelling argument nonetheless.

Hey Steve I hope you’re well! I was just wanting your personal take on there being no bachelorette season? When people ask you who you think should be the next bachelor/bachelorette your response is always I don’t care who the lead is as long as there is a season! Will it affect you financially as I know there is probably a large proportion of people who only use your site during a season airing or when spoilers are released. There are of course your loyal fans myself included who will continue to listen to your daily podcast but I’m guessing we are in the minority.

Comment: No, only because we’re still getting 3 franchise shows in 2025 just like we did in 2024. And with my podcast being Daily, and most of the time in the offseason, my daily pod is usually never talking about the show, I’ve built up enough of an audience talking about other topics that people don’t just come to me for Bachelor/ette spoilers. The numbers of downloads bears that out. If that’s all people cared to listen to me for, I’d get zero downloads in the offseason when this show is filming and not airing.

Curious on your thoughts about how not having a Bachelorette season in 2025 impacts the New Bachelor?
It most likely would’ve been someone from the New Bachelorettes season but now it means it’ll be someone we already know and I’m guessing it’ll come from someone’s story on Paradise.
Also knowing that one of Grants women won’t be the New Bachelorette makes me less excited/interested in watching his season. I wonder if other people feel the same way.
Comment: Yeah, it’s tough to know where they’re leaning for next Bachelor and what their plans are now, but I think it’ll come from someone who has a compelling storyline from BIP. That’d be my guess.
As for Grant’s women, I haven’t heard anything from people who’ve said that makes them less interested in his season.
