You are listening to the daily roundup here as part of the reality. Steve podcast. I am your host reality. Steve. Thank you all for tuning in on this Monday. Boy, this is going to be a love is blind Monday. You’ve had what three full days to watch the first six episodes of the season, if you haven’t by now, I would suggest doing so because I’m going to spend most of today’s podcast.
Giving my thoughts on the first six episodes and some is positive. Some is negative. Some of it is humorous, but we will get to all of that momentarily. Before we get started. I do want to acknowledge something that came out, I believe on Saturday, which was Katie Thurston, former bachelorette announced on her Instagram that she has breast cancer.
She doesn’t know what stage it is. But she came out, she said she has breast cancer and she’s going to give people an update on her Instagram as you can follow along in her journey. So, thoughts go out to Katie and her family. Hopefully she can beat this because obviously it’s a very big deal.
She’s only, what, 33 years old. Obviously it’s happening younger and younger. So we wish Katie all the best here on the reality C podcast and obviously we hope we hope she beats this because she’s had a rough last year or so. I mean, she had some positives in her life. She got engaged but we all know about the sexual assault that she suffered.
I believe at the End of 2023. Yeah. Towards the end of 2023 when F boy Island was airing and then she met her boyfriend after that, I believe in March of last year, something like that. They got engaged in this summer. So she’s engaged to be married to comedian, Jeff R. Curry and Katie announced on her Instagram.
If you want to go read her caption, you can follow along more on her journey. One correction I wanted to make on Friday’s podcast in regards to the traders. I said that clearly Danielle and Carolyn are going to recruit somebody and they’re going to say yes, because they always say yes, actually, I was wrong last season.
I forgot pilot Pete was recruited and he turned it down. So. If they don’t recruit somebody, they’re basically going to get picked off. The faithful is going to end up winning this thing, aren’t they? Because Danielle and Carolyn, because they know that the two traders that they have picked out Bob, the drag queen and Boston Rob, they pretty much know.
Okay. If there’s one or two traders left, either one of them or both of them have to be women. So that’s why the last two people eliminated at last. Banishment and murder were women, but at banishment, they’re going after women because they know of the men left. Nobody thinks Tom Sandoval is a traitor.
Nobody thinks Ivar is a traitor. Maybe some people think Dylan is. And then I believe there’s only one other man left and I’m blank. Oh, Brittany’s ex husband, Sam. I don’t think anybody believes any of those guys are traitors. So it’s going to get interesting to say the least. And one other thing, big weekend this past weekend for Saturday night live celebrating 50 years last night was a three hour special.
And I’m going to spend a lot of time on tomorrow’s podcast talking about this. But today I really wanted to dive into love is blind because on Friday, I told you I was going to do it. I watched all six hours straight. Like I just went right through, started around 1130 AM and went straight through to about six.
Because man, those episodes are all over an hour. There’s no commercials. And did I maybe fast forward a couple of times where I was feeling like. I was hearing the same conversations between certain couples. Yes, but it still took me over six hours to watch the whole thing. And if you haven’t watched it.
And you don’t want to know what happens by all means fast forward this or just come back to it after you’ve watched all six episodes. The one good thing. I mean, there’s a couple of good things about love is blind, but I will say the one good thing is that they don’t drag this out forever. We got six episodes last Friday.
We’re getting episodes seven, eight, nine this Friday. Next Friday are 10 and 11. The following Friday is the finale. March 7th is the finale. So there you go. It’s this thing’s going to be done in less than a month. I’m glad they don’t do one episode a week. It would absolutely kill me if they did, but I guess that’s the good thing.
However, slogging through these first six episodes was kind of rough. Because, as you know, this is only the third season I’ve watched of Love is Blind. I’ve watched six, seven, and eight now. And, you know my biggest complaint, is the pod episodes. And, as far as I know, just based on everything I’ve gathered, talking to people who have been fans of this show forever, and just reading the social media reaction online, Six episodes of all pod episodes was too much.
Literally only the last ten minutes of episode six was not in the pods. Usually they start a little bit earlier than that. Usually we get at least episode six, they start their honeymoon or whatever. No, it was six episodes in the pods, and they gave an awful lot of time to couples that never even made it.
Which we can go over. So when it first started, a couple of the thoughts that I had on love is blind. When it came to the women was, is everybody a nurse on this show? What the hell seemed like every single one of these women was in some form of nursing. It just obviously wasn’t that way. But they also said this was our biggest cast that we’ve ever had 16 men and 16 women, which is fine.
But if I’m not mistaken, I only have seven women getting significant amount of camera time in the pods. Like they only focused on seven. The five that got engaged and then two that didn’t. Madison and Meg. I guess you know what you can throw in an eighth. Britt. Brittany. How’d she pronounce her name? It wasn’t Brittany, it was Britanny, or Brittany, Brit Brit Annie.
Sorry if I’m mispronouncing it, but you know who I’m talking about. So those were the eight that got the most time. The five that got engaged, and then the three that spent the most time. Actually, Madison and Meg might have gotten more camera time than some of the other women that did get engaged. In fact, I think Madison got the most camera time of anybody.
And yet she never even gets engaged, which was really interesting to me. Here’s something that I can say after watching all six episodes, I reached out to a couple of contestants on Instagram and said, Hey, how do I get you on the podcast? Do I have to go through Netflix? And basically they said, yes, contacted somebody over at Netflix and said, I want to get some of your contestants on.
I’d love to have a working partnership with you to work and have your contestants on my show. The good thing is the PR person for. Netflix that I guess approves all these interviews. Is a fan of reality, Steve. So that was good to hear you’re beginning a lot of love is blind coverage on my podcast coming up.
She said, yeah, we can get you this person. And then once we do one interview, no problem arranging other people that you want to have on your show. Look, I’m going to have to pick and choose or else it would literally take me 10 straight weeks or 12 straight weeks to have everybody on. Plus we need to find out how many of them are still together.
This was filmed last year. This was filmed in February and March of last year. So we have no idea how many of these couples are still together of the five that ended up getting engaged. Maybe none. I don’t know. I have to make a determination. I can’t have every single one of them on. It’s gonna be the ones that I found the most interesting.
And I’m telling you right now, the first person I inquired was Madison. Because she seems to be the most polarizing figure of this season. Even though she’s not even engaged, people have very, very strong opinions about her. And I’d love to talk to her, reached out to her. And she said, yeah, we’d love to do it.
Just contact this person over here at kinetic content and we can get that going. And they said, yeah, but. I don’t want to have Madison on while the show is still airing because that puts her limited to what she can say. And I want to wait until everything airs. The good thing about this show, like I said in the beginning, this thing’s going to be over within three weeks.
So we don’t have to wait like a month to talk to Madison or six weeks or eight weeks. So Madison will be on the first week. This thing is donezo. So look forward to that. And then I’m guessing we’re going to have a lot of other contestants on. So I’m glad that someone over at Netflix and somewhere over at this show is a fan of my page and probably should have taken, probably should have taken advantage of this earlier.
I don’t know why I didn’t, especially last season would have loved to have talked to Jimmy. And I just, I don’t know. One of the things that I like to do is obviously let people tell their side of the story. And I know Madison Madison did a Q and a on her Instagram story this weekend, she revealed a lot.
She even did an interview, I believe with people. com she, so she has said a lot already, but I don’t expect everybody to follow these people on Instagram or anything like that. So I know a lot about Madison just based on the answers that she gave on her Instagram story over the weekend, the Q and a that she did.
So it’ll be a really good conversation. I want her to tell her side. Obviously she was involved with Mason and then involved with Alex. Once Mason was gone, I think a lot of us thought she was going to end up getting engaged. And then Alex did what he did. And so she was the one that jumped out to me.
Obviously I would love to talk to Mason. I would love to talk to Lauren, but we have to see how things play out. Obviously Taylor and what’s going on with Daniel. So many things to talk about, but the good thing is, I guess you could say technically I have an in now at a kinetic content and I’m going to be able to get their contestants on my show whenever I want them, assuming I don’t screw something up or whatever.
